Kana walked along the streets, humming a random song as she went. She hoped they would find something fun to do together, the question game had gotten boring to the end. Probably because they both looked like they couldn't think of anything else to ask each other. The town was quiet, even though it was a Friday and wasn't all that late in the evening.

Suddenly, Kana was taken by surprise by a loud crash coming from above. She looked up to realize that the sky was covered in dark clouds. "Oh man!" she said to herself. She quicken her pace and turn the corner of a street, grabbing Xennik's business card from one of her front pocket. She wasn't too far, hopefully she would get there before it started raining. But just as she thought of that, she felt a tiny drop fall on her left cheek and another one on her forehead. Without a second of delay, rain started pourring down on her, literally coming out of nowhere. "Great!" she mumbled.

It was a good thing she had changed out of her genie outfit. If she hadn't, it would have been ruined by the rain. Her outfit was made of a white deniem skirt to her mid-thigh with black and white stockings and some brown leather boots to her knees. She had a white tank-top underneath a thin brown sweather with a hood. Kana had kept the golden hoop earrings and her hair attached like usual.

Quickly she ran on the side of the street and made her way over to Xennik's place. When she arrived, she almost second guessed the address that was on the card, because it was so huge. She never imagined he could live in such a big house. She ran over to the door and took a few seconds to get her breath back. She then knocked on the door and waited for him to answer. Hopefully he had a towel or two to spare, because she was drenched like she just came out of the shower.

The door opened immediately after she knocked, as though Xennik had been waiting on the other side for her arrival. "Kana!" He cried in alarm when he saw her drenched to the bone. He grabbed her by the arms and pulled her into the suite, shutting the door securely behind her. "Oh heavens, you're soaking wet!" He hurried from the room and returned quickly with a dark blue cloud-soft towel, wrapping it around her. "You look so cold! You could have called me, I would have come for you." He fretted, worried, as though he were afraid she might catch pneumonia or something. "Come, I'll start a fire, warm you up." He placed a hand on her shoulder and gently led her from the huge entrance room to an even bigger sitting room, with a couch and mis-matched loveseats, a rug in the center of the tiled floor, and a fireplace set into the wall. He left her to find a seat and moved to the fireplace to start a fire. He had one started in seconds, impossibly fast. He had used a quick spell to get one going. He turned back to her. "Have a seat. Are you comfortable? If you'd like, I could lend you some of my clothes and throw yours in the dryer really fast." He wasn't even embarrassed, he was so concerned. She might get sick! She might be miserable! "Are you hungry?"
All the food at the party was junk food, so it would make sense for her to be hungry for real food. "I make some mean fajitas." He pulled a spanish accent on the word 'fajitas' out of nowhere, as though it were completely natural for him, revealing for the first time that he had a bit of Spanish heritage.

He was dressed in a simple outfit that few saw him in. He was wearing casual clothes, which he usually only wore when he was absolutely alone; a fitted muscle shirt, a simple pair of well-worn but still incredibly stylish jeans, and of course the ruby-inset choker that he was never without. He wore thin black arm bands on his upper arms that brought attention to rather nice biceps. He was barefoot. He'd taken so long trying to decide what on earth to wear that he hadn't really managed to put anything on before he'd been alerted that she was coming. He wasn't even wearing his hat. This was one of the first times he'd worn an outfit that didn't include his feather.

Kana didn't have much of a choice but to follow Xennik inside and into the living room. She didn't even have a chance to look around because he was in such a hurry. She sat down on a large couch with the towel hanging over her shoulders. For a moment she remained silent, watching him go about the room and talking to her really fast. He looked so concerned, she wanted to stay serious but she just couldn't. Kana started laughing not able to control herself at all anymore. "I'm sorry!" she said in between a few more laughters. Slowly she stopped laughing and looked up at him with a smile on her face. "You don't have to worry so much, I'm fine!" she said. She pushed her leather boots off and put the towel to the side, to then take off her sweater. Kana made sure that she wasn't showing too much skin for him and then looked up at Xennik once more. "I'll be fine. Rain never killed anybody." she added with another smile.

"Please, sit down." she asked nicely. In the mean time, she reached up behind her head and released the few pins holding up her hair. Her pink locks fell onto shoulders and around her face. She ran her fingers through her hair a few times to help them dry out and place them around so she wouldn't look like she had just woken up.

Xennik looked even more flustered when she started laughing. He forgot all about being upset with her for laughing at him when all he wanted to do was make sure she didn't get sick when she started taking her sweater off. His heart leapt into his throat. He was both releived and disappointed and utterly horrified with himself when he saw that she had another shirt under it. Curse him, he was becoming a darn-

He sat obediently, feeling a tad awkward as she let her hair down. It looked really nice down. Maybe some day she'd let him play with her hair. He had a hair fetish.

After a few more moments of sitting silently and admiring her like a fool, he pulled himself together. "Seriously, though. Are you hungry? I'm famished." He stood. "Parties have never been my thing. You want me to make you something to eat? I'm a pretty decent cook for a bachelor." He smiled bemusedly at his own joke. He was joking. He was never much of a joker. Being around her brought out his playful side.

He didn't know how he felt about this.

She laughed softly and nodded. "Actually, yes I'm a bit hungry." she admitted. Though she didn't want to have to sit down and wait for him to cook something. It would either be, they cook together or they get something that's really quick to make. Kana just wanted to spend some time with him, not sitting around while he does other things. Then she had the brightest idea! She looked up and smiled sweetly, "Would you happen to have some chocolate and fruits?" she asked. "I'm feeling for a chocolate fondue if you don't mind."

That was perfect for them to share some quality times together, without being bored too much. It also had a romantic side to it.

"Fondue?" With chocolate? Xennik had only ever had fondue with sandwiches and soup or gravy. He was a chocoholic, and it was near Halloween, so of course he had some chocolate stashed away. And with Allani and Biwa in the house, he always had some fresh fruit. "Yes, I have fruit and chocolate. If you'd like to join me in the kitchen?" He waited, standing by the doorway to the kitchen from the sitting room, rocking slighty on the balls of his feet. He seemed a great deal younger dressed down and in his own home.

She nodded. "Yes, you know... You melt the chocolate and dip the fruits in it." she said with a smile. Kana looked around for a moment and then jumped off from the couch, when Xennik asked if she was coming. She looked down at her sweater and boots and shrugged, figuring she might as well just leave them there. She hurried over to him and slide her way right pass him on the wooden floor because of her stockings. She giggled lightly and turned around look at him. Hopefully he didn't she was too childish.

"I've never heard of it done with chocolate." Xennik commented as she approached him. "But it sounds good to-" He cut himself off with his own laughter as she slid past him, reminding him of the time Allani had stolen one of his socks to go sledding down the banister. It amazed him that Kana could act so mature one moment and so childish the next. Maybe that was what made her so interesting.

He followed her into the spacious kitchen and began the journey of the trying to find things in the cupboard. "I've never been able to organize these cupboards effectively." He admitted, digging through the third cupboard unsuccessfully for his chocolate stash. "Whenever I put anything away, the maid comes in and rearranges it. She swears that I'd fail in the housekeeping business, and I really can't argue with that- ah, here it is!" He pulled out a plastic tub full of chocolate. He really was chronically addicted.

Kana giggled, seeing him laugh to her actions. At least she didn't made a fool of herself this time ago. She replaced her tank-top around properly and then walked over to the fridge, looking at Xennik fiddle around to find some chocolate. She opened the door and looked inside to find a variety of fruits. "If they aren't already, you can cut the chocolate in small pieces. Then all you need to do is put it all in a bowl and put it in the microwave for a few minutes." she added. "Make sure to check on it every 30 seconds though, it can burn easily at the bottom." she explained, feeling like a pro of the chocolate fondue.

In the mean time, she took out a package of strawberries, two bananas, an apple and an orange out of the fridge. Making sure not to drop anything, she walked over to the counter and put everything down. Kana looked around for a minute, looking for the cutting board and a knife.

"Microwave?" Xennik was digging through his chocolate storage, pulling out three or four bags of chocolate chips. He liked eating chocolate chips out of the bag. "I don't even think I have a microwave." He laughed at this thought, pointed toward the opposite wall. "Cutting equipment's over there...I think."

"We can use a pan over a slow-burner to melt the chocolate. Or we can use a double-boiler. Those usually don't burn anything. That'd be perfect! Now..." He touched his finger to his bottom lip, spinning in a slow circle in the center of the kitchen. "Where would Marian put them?" He felt like a fool, not knowing where anything was in his own kitchen. he did cook for himself and for Allani and Biwa often enough, but as of late he'd been out working later than usual and Marian had gotten into the habit of leaving meals ready for him when he got home from work.

Kana couldn't help but giggle. Who didn't have a microwave these days? Xennik it seemed like it. She nodded to his suggestions, "That would work perfectly. The double-boiler idea, I've seen on tv a few times." she said with a small smile. She followed where he pointed out for the knives and went over to grab a medium sized one. She walked back over to where she set down the fruits and started cutting the strawberries. "Where do you keep the plates?" she asked, turning around a few minutes later. "I'm starting to run out of room here." she giggled, pointing down at the pieces of fruits all over the cutting board.

Xennik had located the double-boiler and was filling it with water. He set it on the stove and went on the hunt for plates, which were fairly easy to locate. He set a small stack of plates beside her and stole a slice of strawberry. He was standing behind her, which meant that he had to practically hug her to commit his theivery. He didn't mind, and pranced away victorious.

"Thanks!" she said, when Xennik put down the plate next to her. Just as she was about to pick up the pieces and put them in a place, Kana let out a giggle when he grabbed one to eat it. She liked the relationship they had. It was simple, and they slowly started feeling comfortable being around each others. She wanted it to be like this for as long as it could be. She picked up the orange and held it up to him, "Here!" she said. "You can help my peeling the skin off." she gave him a cute smirk and then went back to cutting the apple and bananas left.

Xennik laughed, but took the orange. So he didn't get away as scot-free as he'd hoped. Still grinning, oddly enjoying himself, he got to work peeling the orange. Orange-peeling was dirty work, but at least it smelled nice. He could be cutting onions. That would be a lot worse.

The water in the bottom of the double-boiler was warming up. Carefully, he dumped the bags of chocolate chips into the pot, eating about three handfuls of them in the process.

"So. I take it you're a bit of a night owl?" Xennik asked as he carefully stirred the slowly-melting chocolate.

Kana looked over at Xennik stirring the chocolate as it melted slowly. She finished cutting the fruits and arranged them around the plate to have a nice looking display. She then took it and walked over to the table to put it down. She turned around to open a drawer and magically find some forks to put next to the fruits. She smiled and walked over to where Xennik was. She leaned back against the counter not too close, but not too far from where he was. "Hmm..." she seemed to be thinking for a moment. "I guess I could be." said Kana, her devil tail waving from side to side, just like a cat's tail. "I like staying up late, but I also like getting up early when you can still feel the chilly breeze from the night." she explained.

She looked down at the chocolate, almost completely melted. "But that doesn't go very well with me because I'm a big sleeper." she said with a chuckle.
