My steampunk name which would still maintain my ethnicity (think British-Chinese 19th century aviator, or something) would be Naoko Tsui. This was achieved by taking my real name, keeping the Japanese-first-name/Chinese-surname pattern and romanising the surname with the older Wade-Giles system developed in the 19th century rather than modern-day pinyin, rendering it "Tsui". I expect Naoko Tsui would then choose a more European name upon settling in Britain or something or the other, thus becoming Astrid Natalie Trilby. smile

Sounds like you've put some serious thought into it. Bravo is all I have to say!

Penny Lane Edison.

Yup, Beatles fan. But the characters name is usually just Penny.

Alyss Weller at your service ~ Baroness, of course.

My close friends and I operate the Redmond Airship.
Would you like their names as well?
Let me introduce them~
Shaazaadeh Julius Gushlow.
Sir Newt Paching.
Major General Obadaiah Kadwell
Mr. Gabrieal Hamerman.

((haha, I'm the only one out of my group who didnt get their name of the brass goggles generator.
Although, my account on the forums is "Alyss Weller" if anyone wants to chat on there. I'm not on often though.
The name has no relation to my real name... but 'Alyss' was how I used to spell "Alice" when I was 6 or 7. I've loved it, so I kept it))

I wasn't too happy with the name that Brass Goggles came up with for me: Edna Bacon is a bit too... non vegetarian for my liking. XD

I have an array of characters for a steampunk story that I'm putting together, but the only consistant one that I use (who sort of transcends all times) is Solon Setiirkaji (yes, I do prefer being a male to a female when rping): his first name is ancient greek for 'wisdom', and his last name being a play on 'sort eika' ('black oak' in Norwegian) and the word 'satyr'... with a bit of an asian twist to it.

So essentially his name is 'Wise Satyr of the Black Oak.'

Pretty damned cool, I think. biggrin

Rhett Winchester Metven, at your service ladies and gents! -sweeps off hat and bows-

Rhett was borrowed from Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind because I liked the undying love and devotion of the character. And, he says "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." which is one of my favorite phrases. Winchester is for the 'gun that won the West' the Winchester repeating rifle. Metven was just the most interesting surname from the 1800s that I could find. From my understanding, it was an Australian surname, but I thought it could just as well be western.

Generally, I'm just called Khatsworth. Formally, well... it doesn't happen commonly, but I guess I get called Mademoiselle Khat or somesuch.
Happens less often than being mistaken for a man or being called "PIRATE!", anyways.

Katlyntje Jongsma of Sloten, Holland at your service. Jongsma is actually the last name of my grandfather's mother, my grandfather's parents both hailing from Holland originally and Katlyntje is a real name used in 1800's Holland. I'm not sure where my great grandmother lived before coming to the US but when I checked immigration records a large portion of people with the last name of Jongsma came from the town of Sloten so that is where I chose to have my character come from.
