She laughed at the eskimo kiss and ducked her head to nuzzle under his chin a moment before blowing the 'butterflies' out in a sigh. Everything was going to be okay.

Chinchillie A shadow cast on the water, momentarily cutting the sunlight that danced across the moving ripples. The mare paid it no mind, passing it off as a cloud or something of the sort. Behind her the gull went still and silent on its perch, frozen into terror. If it didn't move, it wouldn't get eaten!
Verbena heard the seagull squawk far too late. Suddenly, the shadow that had been circling overhead banked and grew, shaping itself into a raptor, hurtling toward its prey. Startled, she whinnied, jerking back into the water. That bird was enormous. Another squawk broke her out of her frozen state, spurring her to race her way to shore. But it wouldn't be fast enough to save the smaller bird - a fact that didn't miss her.
Just when it seemed the gull would have been raptor snack, Tuari adjusted his flight and tail feathers and sailed over it at the last moment, his talons barely missing the top of the bird's feathery head. The eagle let out what sounded like an amused laugh, before catching a thermal and soared overhead, circling both gull and soquili like a puppy would on the ground.

Eachann enjoyed the nuzzle for as long as it lasted and when it stopped he frowned a little. Then he looked back at Ilianna and his smile returned. 'This moment is too perfect.'

The frown made her giggle again and she butted her head lightly into his shoulder. "You'll get plenty of nuzzles, you know," she said smoothly, her tone lacking the jittery tone it had ago. It was completely confident now. "Though you might have to earn them sometimes."
Her eyes glinted merrily at that.

 wahmbulance He chuckled with her and said, "Yes, I know." He noticed the change in her tone of voice, and was glad she was less jittery and more comfortable now. "I'd do anything for you." With a chuckle he added, "Or one or your nuzzles."

"Anything?" she said, a mock-challenge to her voice before she laughed and splashed him just a bit, now realizing they were still standing in the lake. "As long as you're mine and only mine, that's all I could really truely desire."
Among other things, but it was too early to be discussing that. >>

She wrinkled her brow at the splash and sent another at him, bigger this time, before dancing away from him to avoid retaliation.

At first, he recoiled a little from the chill of the water. Then he capered after her, hoping to retaliate with each hop.

Ahah, the game was on, apparently.
She made a 'meep!' noise as she saw him coming after her, waves from his footsteps threatening to splash her coat as he went. She had to stay where it was relatively shallow because she was smaller than he was though, so it was unlikely she'd evade him too long. Her shorter legs made moving through the water a little more difficult.

"So the reason your father could be different is because theres more soquili?" Anubis said confused. Noticing Maize's smile, he smiled back to Maize, some of his tension leaving him. He still shifted uneasily because, what was he thinking going to a foreign teepee? Shaking it off his mind, he concentrated on keeping his pace finding it easier now.
"Hm." He said to Maize. "Seems like your father isn't going to slow down for us soon. Are we near your teepee?" Anubis questioned curiously. "Are there any more like us, at your teepee?" His blue didn't stand out as much in their surroundings now near the river. His tail seemed to float in the wind, the black seeming to have to have effect that it was moving.

Yes, the game was on.
He playfully moved after her bringing his legs down harder to make larger waves and splashes. He moved between her and the deeper water so they didn't go to far out. Gradually he started pushing through the water towards the shore, still splashing through the water.

"I don't know," Maize replied. "Something changed him. I think before I was born, he wasn't like -- this," she gestured to Couscous with her head, "And I think the reason for it came from... my mother." She started to look downwards as they continued walking. "Long story. Perhaps I will tell you another day. And I do believe we're somewhat near our teepee. At the pace we're going... Well, we're making good track. And father does that a lot. I don't mind it, as I'm used to it. Just don't worry about it, he likes the peace of mind that he gets when he's all alone, even though it's not that healthy for him." She sighed jokingly. She really did wish Couscous would interact more with others, but it was his decision, not hers. Hopefully, he'd grow out of it someday...
Couscous turned his head backwards quickly, a bit interested in what the two were talking about. "Say, what're you two doing?" he called back, turning his head back forwards. He wasn't really expecting an answer, and so he increased his pace and trotted up further. He enjoyed having the wind blow through his mane and tail -- he enjoyed his freedom.
"Nothing, father," Maize called back to Couscous, though he didn't hear, and then she turned back to Anubis. "At our teepee? My father runs the herd, but they don't usually gather around our teepee; just somewhere close to our teepee. Sometimes far off. But I live with my father, sister, a close friend of father's, and her son. We all get along pretty well, and it's almost like a whole other family unto itself." Maize stopped talking for a few moments, thinking. Even though she had a mother that was never there for her, her father's close friend somewhat acted as a mother whenever father wasn't around. She smiled, realizing the great family she really had. "I do have a family," she whispered to herself.

"You'll muss my mane and coat!" she called in a mock-serious manner as she whirled away from the offending waves, hardly worried if her mane became a bit stringy from the water as she plodded away from him, trying to make it to shore before he could -really- soak her.
