Kaliea 007 MGS 3: Ocelot.
... I... didn't know how to zoom into 1st person at the time. ._.;
I haven't played Metal Gear Solid,
but there have been several situations where
a portion of a game is actually a lot simpler than I believe it to be,
because of some game mechanic with which I am not familiar.

Oddly enough, I can't remember having anything I would consider a really long battle. It is probably because my attention span is so short to begin with.

the longest battle I was in was teh smithee end boss for Mario RPG the search for the seven stars.. that one was hard... he just.. he just wouldn't die... -sighs- that was a couple days.. because I would get bored or frustrated after a couple hours of beign stuck at a stale mate... I don't think I have ever wasted so much healing.... not that I suspect many of you will know what that game is.. not many if anyone has heard of it.. it did not really make a big splash anywhere

The final boss battle in Skies of Arcadia. It took me 3 hours sweatdrop
ship battles always took a long time but that was ridicules

I was at a low-level battle arena in Shing Jea Monestary (Guild Wars) and it was my W/Mo versus another W/Mo. It took so long that we ran out of time and it ended up being a tie. People were making bets on who would win, lol.

Hell Wyrm. FFXII. 8.9 million health.
I'm working on it... XD I do a little bit every now and then. I'd go crazy if I went for it all in one go.
btw, Melbu Frahma on LoD is a pain in the butt. I hate that guy. not only is he difficult, but he's also rather ugly. XD especially in his final form. he looks like a combination of a mushroom and a bug. x_x

Dragon Quest VIII
Practically all the major bosses took at least 2 hours. Doulmagus, Leopold, Empirea, that guy from the Abbey who has a grudge against Angelo.
Then I read the game guide and found out I had been about 8 levels lower than where I should have been! Thank goodness Angelo knew zing and had enough MP (and magic potions) to last that long. xp

baten kratos origins...i sat and fought that damn turkey monster for 2 and a half hours before i won (and i had been trying to kill thats snot for 3 months)

That'd probably be Xemnas in KHII or Vayne in FFXII... because of the different forms and such. The last form of vayne was a total pain, it too like forever >___<

you mean Fafnir? oh man... I hate that thing. DX that is probably one of the hardest hunts in the game. I remember there being one place where he couldn't reach you with his physical attacks, though. if you go near some rock, he just can't get you. XD it's pretty much cheating, but it makes it easier.

There's a couple battles in Shining Force II that take at least 3 hours to beat on easy mode.
So I was playing my file on "Ouch! (Expert)" mode, and I got to the second hardest battle, which is the LONGEST battle, in the game.
It took me six hours straight.
And then I accidentally kicked my Genesis when I won and it knocked the reset button, undoing all those six hours of work. crying
