Anyone know anything about the Minoan gods? I'm rereading The Chalice and the Bladeand all these references to The Goddess (who doesn't seem to be like either The Morrigan or The Dagda) are crawling on my last nerve.

There are some ideas amongst scholars that the minoans worshipped a great goddess. If you have acces to walter burkerts 'greek religion', theres a bit about minoan and mycenaean religion at the front; with info on that goddess. I'll look properly later. Right now...I'm getting ill. -_- I can feel it.

I'm remembering a lot of female pottery offerings. Where the ******** are my notes from Greek Myth? Arg. Also: Tea changed the title! *looks around for other signs of Tea*

Found my text book, but not my notes. But I was right, we think there was a Great Goddess due to the female statues. Like this one: But it should me said that no one really knows much of anything about Minoan Gods. We can't read their damned script.

You have an academic library, Deo. But it is pretty much of what Celeblin said.

Serves you right!
So -- my local pagan list was asking about food allergies, I joke about my suitably unpagan allergy, and someone says that I must not be Persephone.
It's not quite rightly a snark, you know, but the pomegranate is more sacred to Hera. Hence the popular interpretation of eating the seeds = stuck in underworld in marriage.
I was much nicer in my response.

Linear A and Linear B are the scripts, right? I remember reading on it. It makes me frustrated that we have cultures whose languages we still can't read. I'm thinking of the Indus Valley civilization as I type.
