o.0? *what the hell was she babbling about now? Rave shook it off and stepped up to Tellus with a frown, grabbing her hand pushing the nagamaki into it* You need to hold onto this... I haven't got a clue how to use it... and Dante will kick your a** if he ever finds out that you just left it behind girl... stare
*By all the gods stressed Hono knew she was supposed to be the childish one around here, hell the coment about Dante had been another attempt at a lame joke even when Enki's daughter was starting to creep her out.*Come on Vahn... I totally wore the wrong shoes for a long hike like this... doesn't this place have an elevator or anything? sweatdrop
*Hono stepped a little past Tellus, almost as if she was ignoring the girl all of a sudden, but even with her stupid quips Rave never really took her attention off the girl. She was at the point of wondering if Tellus could be trusted, or not...That was not a pleasant thought when she really liked Tel*You know when we are done I know this great engineering company that can rig one up for you... hell I'll even give you a nice loan if you want to do a few renovations on the place... indoor plumbing, air conditioning.... we could even put in a big pool where the Lord of Dragons is napping at the moment xd

The Tower of Babel was a relic left over from the earlier ages of the land itself. It was rumored that the people had used this Tower to levy a degree of control over Heaven; indicating the probability that this Tower itself was divine in origin.
The history of such a relic however made no difference to the masked figure or his companion as they both peered upwards at a set of vaulted doors. Sighing despite his desire to hide his frustrations, Victor turned to his companion and addressed the female.
"It does not seem to open after all," Victor said in deep frustration. "This ability to hinder the Arc's discovery is nothing short of an annoying hindrance."
"Well, we are not without clues as of yet," Fumei replied, trying to ease the strain of disappointment from her master's mind. "Perhaps we should look else where."
"I suppose it can't be helped," Victor replied, turning slightly to extend out his left hand. A sphere of undilluted energy formed, before shining as clear as a mirror. He watched a man in a earth toned mantle lead a group into the inner sanctum of the Tower. "And it seems their making a bit of progress." His words indicating he fully expected the arrival of the group.
"Shall we have a talk with them?" Fumei asked, turning her eyes towards the ageless man by her side.
"No." Victor replied, taking a few steps towards the door again, "Not yet. Let them come as far as they can go."

Sunstrike snickered at Hono's excuses for jokes, knowing that she, like the rest of them, was totally on edge.
"We should change your shoes then, Hono..."
Carefully he walked forwards, slipping off his shoes and actually lifting the other woman up, settling her on the stairs for a moment, while he gathered up what he was wearing, a simple pair of boots.
Ripping some of the material of his jeans, he first shoved some into the toe, then slipped her shoes off...
"Tch...what do you expect with highheels in a place like this?! Woman...you'll be the death of me yet!"
Throwing the steady boots onto her feet, he took more material, and shoved them down the back of the heels, giving her tiny feet support in his big shoes. Then he laced them up tight.
He paused for a minuete, probably thinking hard about something, before walking over to Tellus and leaning down.
A finger actually poked her in the forehead.
"I want to talk to Tijae or Tellus, Lady." His multicoloured eyes glared into the strange ones looking out of Tellus' body.
"We've got things to do and people to see, godess...and unless you want to be sorted out permenantly here AND now, I suggest you come along for the ride, and let Tellus have what's hers for the moment."
Sunstrike had been in Tellus' rather full mind on two occations, and she would know that he could, and WOULD do some damage if things didn't shape up.
He threw a look to Vahn, there was something...solid there, a connection just below the surface.
"Up the stairs then... Vahn?" A pause...maybe he'd been about to call him something else without realizing?

Ah, what can I say, I'm a slave to fashion redface blaugh *she stomped her feet in the over sized boots to get the feel of them and then reatched out and hugged Sun suddenly before he could move away* Thanks dear... sweatdrop besides I always feel I need a bit more hight around you boys xp

"...Ah...yea."
He scratched the back of his neck even as he turned back around. He really didn't know what to do or say, and was having trouble enough with problems of his own.
However he didn't really like the amount of quiet building within the small group.
Moving further into the chamber, he made way for the staircases.
Taking note of several hewn statues and effigy's of what looked to be qinged creatures, he continued forward. The gothic feel of the place was already pretty much hammered into him; not that it bothered him.
Walking up the right staircase, he reached the top.. which was apparently just a second level. A doorway was dead ahead, with a short hall.. but behind him, was the back end of the chamber, with what looked to be a raised dais and large 'bird cage' in the center.
An object gleamed from within the center of the cage.
"....?"

"I am not a goddess." She frowned, almost insulted that Sunstrike would even dare insuinate such. "You never found me before, now did you, child?" Her nose wrinkled as she was poked. "Besides, your demon lover woke me to keep the child from dying just a while back." She sniffled and turned towards Vahn. ~There was no way that boy would iniate the kind of intimate contact that he'd have to get in order to get through mydefenses.~
"Vahn...?"

Sunstrike snorted, suddenly ruffling her hair. He still felt warm from the hug that Hono had given him, and worried about his friends.
"Suit yourself lady-ness, but this is Vahn's deal. You mess him up and I'll turn you over my knee, child to you or not." Suddenly his eyes turned serious as he grabbed her chin pulling her up close, and wrenching her attention back to himself.
"And if you honestly think I wouldn't do anything to save him from suffering more then he already has..." The whisper trailed off as the two exchanged glares. "You'd be foolishly wrong, godess...
He let her go, suddenly brightening as he followed the other two up the stairs, taking them two at a time, silently in his bare feet.
He blinked in surprise even as Vahn did.
"What the heck?"

"H-Hey! Don't go touching anything!"
He watched as Raven practically skittered on over to the side room on the second level of the chamber, examining the massive cage.
The glittering object atop the pedestal seemed to be a series of several vials, one of which was already missing.
Just behind Raven, were a series of gears and a winch, surrounded by several winged stone statues.
"Wha...?" He'd already turned back to Tellus, watching Sunstrike and her; more than enough confusion on his mind.
Even in such a empty room, he could'nt shake the nagging feeling that he was being watched.

Cold silent eyes followed Sunstrike for a moment, not saying anything.'I'm sure the demon would be glad to know you value her so little.'But nothing was spoken out loud. She gripped the nagamaki but only glanced about casually, seemingly uninterested.

sad *Raven literally groaned looking at Vahn in utter disappointment... it wasn't as if she had intended to take the shiney stuff back to her nest... well at least not once she realized they were just a bunch of bottles. XP... Clasping her hands behind her back to show she had no intention of actually touching anything she peered closer at the vials, curiosity almost making the little elemental twitch to figure out what was inside*
*looking over her shoulder to see Vahn's attention on Tellus and Sun Rave sighed and looked closer at the gears and stuff behind her, reaching up to run a finger against the edge of a gear to see if it was locked in place, and looking for signs of settled dust*

It wasn't that he thought less of the demon, it was just that he thought more of Vahn. At the end of it all, she'd been a guest in his mind, or a stow away was probably more appropriate. And if she was going to make him choose, there was really no question as to what would happen.
An arm slipped around Vahn's shoulders, suddenly pulling the other man closer to take a look at the vials. Cinnamon and blood was getting to be a common smell associated with Sun these days, and he remained slightly warmer then usual, even though the placce was cool in the shade. Even after pulling the other man forward he didn't relinquish the touch, and if he was made to, it would be reluctant.
"Someones had a taste test before us..." He pointed to the missing vial, and then the others. "How do we know this isn't just the left over of a successful trial? Maybe the path is already opened?"

Raven's finger would brush aside a hewn plaque with barely readeable words inscribed upon it's surface.
From what -could- be read... it would go as follows...'....To the being with the will of the thunderstorm... I bestow a soul of steel...'
The inscription apparently mentioned something about lightning, and when taking into account the object held within the cage...
Set inside the winch and alongside the gears, was a slot of some sorts, apparently the lever was missing.
"I don't know... so far we haven't exactly had a warm welcome."
Despite the fact that he had scolded Raven from such a thing, he reached out and gripped the bars of the cage. Tensing for a bit, he tried pulling them apart, his face turning a bit red before he gave up.
As Tellus looked about and wandered, one of her casual glances would fall upon just one of the numerous statues within the chamber.
If she had been paying attention, she could swear it had just winked at her...

Her head tilted to the side as she glanced back at the statue. "This place is so very odd. " She moved closer to the statue, unable to resist the natural curiousity of the body she was in. She glanced up at it. "Did you just wink at me?" She pouted, Tellus' true personality fighting through. "Sunny, I think the thing just winked at me..." not sure whether she sounded insulted or not. She really was far too trusting.
She leaned forward to poke at it,only to have a claw swing out at her. If she hadn't heard the rough stone, she wouldn't have been able to stumble backwards.
"Guys!"
Falling back on her bottom, she wasn't sure what she could do against a stone menace like the one before her. It leaped forward with a pounce so quick that it astounded her for something as heavy as it was. And Tellus' scream ripped through the air as it landed on her pining her to the ground by her shoulders.
Luckily, she still had her nagamaki in her hand. Thanks Hono. But the reach was too long to use the normal way. So with one hand right beside the blade and the other only a little further up, she used it more like a bowie and swung towards the side of the gargoyle even as she whimpered in pain. The blow wasn't as powerful as she would have liked but it dug nice and deep, getting the gargoyle to fall off of her, though taking nice chunks of her arms with it.
Tellus' moved as quickly as possible, swinging the nagamaki properly this time, slicing upwards across it's body, almost severing it in two. Another slice and it's head was gone, but not before slapping a paw out and clawing her leg as well, though a much tinier scrap then before, getting mostly jean before it crumbled back to earth. Tellus then dropped to her knees and prayed nothing else would attack.
