Her brow furrowed in uncharacteristic seriousness, Sumire tried really hard to study the clone's movements. The next attack came quicker than she expected. She dodged it, barely. But her focus on the clone actually really helped. She saw it. That flicker in the clone's face before it decided to strike. "Aha!" Sumire grinned triumphantly at the clone. If her smile was tinged with wickedness, who would notice? "I caught you again! And this time, I think I figured it out!"

"Right!" Sumire got back in her defensive stance. "This time, for sure!" But luck was not with her. The clone's attack was really fast and hard to dodge. She managed to slip by it, but she missed her opportunity to spot the blink. A little disappointed, Sumire was determined to keep smiling and keep trying. "Hmph. I'll get you next time, clone!" It was almost becoming personal between her and the clone. She wasn't sure who the clone was supposed to be. But it wasn't looking good for the real person when they finally met.

The clone had gotten the best of her last time. But no more! Sumire's eyes narrowed a bit. The only time that she wasn't all bubbly and overly friendly was when her competitive streak kicked in. And this situation was definitely causing her to become a tad bit determined to win. Alot. She watched the clone closely, taking care not to take her eyes off its face or let her attention wander. She never knew when he might -- There! She easily dodged the blow that she knew was coming, sticking her tongue out playfully. "Ha! I win this time, clone! I'm getting better at spotting all of your sneaky little tricks!" She nodded, firmly. "You'll have to do better than that!"

Taking up the now-familiar stance in front of the clone, Sumire realized that she had just one more time to complete this exercise before she moved on to the next one. "Yay! Just once more!" But while she was celebrating, the clone was on the move. He spun around and aimed a kick for her knees. Sumire only just caught the movement out of the corner of her eye and jumped, avoiding any damage. She was a little irritated when she came down, however. "Ooh...! Sneaky clone! That was a tricky thing to do! I'll be ready for you next time! Sure will!" She nodded firmly, again, to make her point. It wasn't that she disliked or was mad at the clone. But it was now her opposition.

Sumire tried to regain focus. She had to focus! The clone was obviously very sneaky. And it was going to wait to attack when she wasn't paying attention. The clone launched itself at her, coming in with its fist held high. She dodged it without too much trouble. But she had missed the blink again. She placed her hands on her hips. "You're good, clone...I'll give you that." She nodded her acceptance of her skill. She was incredibly ditzy and didn't stop to think that her opponent was only a clone. She only saw a young boy who she was struggling to beat.

Sumire tried to watch the clone closer than ever before. But she still missed it when he attacked. The punch came closer to her delicate face than she wanted to admit. Her short five-two frame twisted all the way around to avoid the kick the clone suddenly sent towards her head. "Wow! You're really flexible!" She sent Tenmoki a suspicious look. "You made a super clone!" She was getting a bit frustrated. She had failed several times in a row now. It was time that she got something right!

Sumire tried to keep her eye on the clone. But his attacks were really strong. And she was getting a bit tired. She missed this attack, too. The clone's attack was slightly easier to dodge. She was paying more attention. Or...at least she was trying. Her frustrated sigh was directed at the clone. "You're really good..." she grumbled. "Well! I'm going to get you next time for sure!"

Sumire -- a little disheartened by all of her failures -- watched the clone more carefully than she ever had. She especially watched his face. That was where the blink was. She waited...and waited. There! She saw the muscles in his cheeks clench just before he attacked. She dodged with amazing ease. "Finally! I got you! I got you good that time!" She flashed the clone a 'V' for victory. She was extremely excited about finally finishing up the first exercise. "What's next, Kusakage-sama?" The elated little girl turned to her instructor. "What do I have to do now?"

Aya came back to the training grounds fully rested and ready for another long day of practice. She had been so tired yesterday when she had left and now she felt even better than when she had came. Walking over to the pond where she had been practicing, Aya put her hands in the seal to bring the water back up in the form of a person. "Henge..." she said to herself again...

Sumire listened attentively as Tenmoki explained the next part of the exercise. The clone was supposed attack her with punches; and instead of dodging, she was supposed to deflect them. Sumire bounced around excitedly. "Alright! Alright! I can do this!" She spun around to face the clone again. "Ha! You are going down, clone!" She got into a defensive stance and waited for him to attack. Her expression was pure determination though her eyes sparkled with excitement.

The clone stood still for a single moment before he came at her. The attack was a simple punch aimed straight for her chest. She had to remind herself not to dodge, though it would have been an easy matter to do so. As it was, she flinched with the effort to stay still. She brought her hands up to catch and deflect the punch. But it was too late to matter. Her breath was forced out of her lungs from the force of the blow. She coughed a bit, her expression dazed. "Oh...I missed..."

Sumire shook her head, clearing her mind. "Ok! Beginner's luck didn't come through for me! But you're going down this time!" She giggled, settling her weight on the balls of her feet. She swayed, balancing perfectly while waiting for the clone's next attack. It came fast, almost surprising her with its speed. She reacted purely on instinct. Her hand flashed up, deflecting the punch downwards. "Ah! I did it!" She danced around. "Eat that, clone-boy!" Her happy dance was in full swing.
