As the short movie ended, she drew her eyes away from the calling card's surface. The steady sound of her footsteps moving down the hall were becoming overpowered by the approaching alcove. Kalie could both feel and hear the hum. When the vibrations reached a point where she could almost touch them, Kalie stopped. Her eyes falling shut as she thought over the possibilities before her. On one side, she had the directions on the card, on another.. she had Torment and the final playing card, Mind Blaze.

Here came the difficult part, to pick Torment was to follow after the card's lead. The draw back being, she wouldn't know if Torment was currently there or elsewhere taking care of the more devastating problem. To use Mind Blaze as a location, Kalie knew she could be placing herself in immediate danger. But if Tor had already found him.. it would make little difference, right?

Standing motionless aside from the shallow rise and fall of her chest, Kalie sighed softly. Then whispered to the empty halls.

"I'm so sorry.."

As she took a final glance at the small card, Kalie looked away letting it instead be tucked away in her back pocket. The chain meanwhile became twisted about her fingers as her hand moved a breath way from the edge of the alcove. The colors buried deep within the jewel, now swinging freely from the chain, came to life as it approached the thin line between herself and the only way off the plains.

With her decision made, the location once spoken would be little louder than the hum hanging in the air.

"Mind Blaze"

Only.. the decision had already been made far before Kalie could even ponder it. As the words left her lips, nothing happened. If anything the lights within the jewel dimmed and the humming softened. Apparently the alcove didn't accept names as geographical locations.

Watching the alcove do the opposite of what it had been clearly created to do, Kalie couldn't help but laugh. It would figure, Torment had given her the easy out and she had tried to do it the hard way. Only to have fate conspire against her, forcing her to pick Torment's direction anyway.

"PatchWork Hospital"

With an amused smile, Kalie made the request and stepped forward into a whirl of lights.

Appearing in less than dramatic flash, Kalie arrived in the hall. An assortment of girly pink bags tucked behind her back in a jumble. Their tell tale silvery white stripes accenting the pink in an almost blinding way as the house's lighting hit the dark letters scrawled across the bags. The brow raising contents of the bags hidden for the most part beneath mounds of deep pink tissue paper.

There was a teenager in the living room, sitting on a chair, and reading a book. He looked hauntingly like Vincent, though younger, his body lithe as well, as opposed to strong and burly. Red hair tinted black jutted over his eyes, seeming to make it impossible to read, though he continued to do so. He was shirtless, and wearing tight leather pants and boots. he seemed rather enthralled in the book.

While making her escape down the hall, Kalie noticed a brief change of color as she scampered past the living room. Unfortunately for the new guest, she didn't take a better look at what that color was. Taking for granite and having forgotten Torment's recent shift from flame kissed blue to gray, she gently set all but the smallest bag against the wall. Then proceed to quietly walk up behind the chair's occupant with every intention of dropping the little bag in "Torment's" lap.

The boy seemed unaware for the moment, continuing to read to himself quietly, seeming rather happy and content with reading.

Pouncing the chair, the young woman's arm swung around the side as her grip faltered. Sending the virtually weightless parcel into the air, with an imaginary X painted on the boy's lap as far as the bag's landing was concerned.

The book was set aside as Nik gave an oof, pyulling the bag open and looking inside. Non-chalantly, he placed it to the side, and rubbed his face as he pulled his book back up. "First of all, I don't wear lace, and second of all, it's too big for me."

Falling over the side, Kalie sat perched on the arm rest stricken and flushed. Her crystal blue eyes about as wide as they could mange without popping out of her head. Swallowing, her fingers twitched but remained frozen , unable to gather the initiative to move away from the boy or hide the lacy top. At least she found enough breath to speak.

"You're not Torment..."

Well obviously.

He turned and stared at her with on eye of fire red showing, the other masked by hair. He spoke quietly after a moment. "No, I'm not. And there's no way I'm wearing that for you." he made a face of grossness, in that he was grossed out by the idea. "Women... ick."

Frowning, Kalie furrowed her brows and twisted her face about in disgust before fishing up the garment and almost childishly stuck her tongue out at him.

"It's not for you. At least not to wear."

"I was planning on wearing it.. "

Climbing off the arm rest, she plucked the bag up and gently tucked her pick of lingerie back inside. Her stance giving her a better view of Nik, she didn't know him, but he looked slightly familiar. A feeling that would at least explain her lack of discomfort around a complete stranger.

"Actually, it wasn't meant for your eyes either.."

"Good, then I won't have to gouge out my eyes." He turned to his book, reading it quietly, and yawning a bit. "women are so weird."

"Pffft"

"Men are any better?"

About to leave, Kalie paused turning her attention back to the chair and the occupant in it.

"So..Why are you sitting in my living room criticizing me again?"

"Because you are part of a group of people that are vindictive bitches, and all around ugly." He flipped the page of the book, reading quietly to himself. "Not to mention you just insulted me."
