The TIE continued its pursuit, but Kefka was already dialing his way out of the system. At the last second, the TIE blasted his right wing and he began spiraling out of control. He made the jump but landed halfway to the Rendezvous point, and stopped to make repairs before continuing to the meeting place.

It took time, but finally Kefka arrived.
"It seems that all that are going to get here are already here. Eh, Kefka?" Orrin muttered, calculating everything.
"Not very good for a formal squadron, but then again, we were ambushed in a sense. Seems we'll be needing to recruit fresh blood."

"I think we first need to establish a base of operations myself. I suggest Dantooine. It's remote, sparsely populated, and the Empire has already established that we're not there, if I heard right. But then, I don't make the rules. We'll see where command ships us." Gendis sat back in his fighter.

Kefka checked his scanners. Four times over.
Emerald Squadron had four survivors.
"Bloody sith..."

"Bloody sith ..." came a mutterance from Kefka.
The Drunken Bantha's captain listened in, offering his own two cents. "Them's the breaks, flyboy," he sighed, somewhat sympathetically, as his wookie first mate also chimed in with a baleful, mournful groan. Rusty, too, also gave out a baleful hoot. "So, what do we do now?" Zendia enquired to Kefka.

"Wait for command I guess," Kefka said.
"If they survived,"

"We all didn't jump to the same place, Kefka. If you didn't notice by now, Ruby Squadron isn't here. So who knows how long it will take command to establish a secure com channel..." Orrin muttered to himself, performing perimeter recon.

"Ruby Squadron probbably has a single survivor.." Kefka tacked on, before he swerved the Y-Wing around and boosted sensor and radar power.

Zendia stifled a yawn, and then commed Kefka. "And of course, myself and Rusty will need a new bird to fly," She then gave a weak smile. "Thankfully, Captain Bart here was kind enough to give us a lift, otherwise we'd still be twiddling our thumbs on Yavin after the Imp oddball made short work of our bird,"

"Hopefully we'll all get refitted. Though I like this piece of bantha slobber, she can't handle today's top of the line fighters..." Orrin noted.

"Yeah, a new fighter..." Kefka said, before realizing exactly what had happened.
"Wait guys...the Death Star is gone. Do you know how many people in the high Imperial echelon were onboard? Tarkin!"

Gendis moaned quietly and shook his head. He muttered, slightly. "How many? How many dead? How many nameless soldiers leaving behind families on dozens of worlds?" He sighed and sat back. "It is not really an accomplishment..."

Zendia listened in on both Kefka and Gendis. To be sure, she could understand both viewpoints on the situation. "The Death Star is gone, and with it, many of it's better officers, if the rumors are true." She then ventured a question. "Tarkin? I feel like I should know that name ..."

"Tarkin's the man who sits behind the Empire. A public face, so to speak. He's the one responsible for the Death Star's design, as well as the doctrine of rule by fear. Quite influential, if i must say so myself." Orrin chipped in.

"Then, he got what he deserved, if he was on board the Death Star," Zendia coldy stated.
