{And now the moment that at least two of us have been waiting for...}

He thought of going back to the institute. But he didn't fearing another outburst. Instead, he just flew as far and as fast as he could. Raze finally landed some distance away, in the heart of downtown Bayville. He stumbled into an alleyway, and slumped against the wall, leaving scorch marks as he slid down into a sitting position on the pavement.

"What's happening to me?" he thought aloud, not realizing that there was someone there to hear it.

"Something currently out of your control, I would imagine."

"Who's there?!" Raze said, looking around frantically. His hands were still immolated, and he used them to provide some illumination on the matter. Dark red metal glinted in the light given off by the flames. A helmet, but the face beneath it was still obscured.

"Someone who wants to help," said the deep voice coming from the figure standing before Raze.

"Yeah? And what the hell would you know about it?"

"More than you would imagine. You're confused. You're afraid that you won't be able to control this newfound strength, and that you'll badly hurt those close to you. Judging from how I found you, you've already come close. And from what I can gather of your expression, I'm quite correct about these matters. I want to help you control your powers," the figure said.

"Yeah? Well, I've already got people helping me out," Raze said, defiantly.

"Really? Then why haven't you sought them out yet?"

From Raze's silence, the figure could tell that his comment had struck close to home.

"You have nothing to fear from me. And you have no need to fear for my own safety. I assure you, no harm will come to either one of us. I only ask that you trust me," he said, holding out a hand.

Raze thought for a moment. Should he trust this person? He had just showed up out of nowhere. But then, Raze thought of Rogue. If she was hurt because of his powers, he would never be able to forgive himself.

Apprehensively, he took the figure's hand in a firm handshake.

"You've made a wise choice. Now, come along, I have much to show you," the figure said, stepping towards a silvery orb that Raze was certain hadn't been there before.

(The party has officially begun.)

Julianna nodded in agreement. "You did." She told her. "Yea, I'm a little confused about the whole deal myself." She admitted. Shifting so she was sitting on the branch. "Just sit near the trunk....I've got better ballance that's all." She said. "I'm Julianna...or Lizz...either or..." She said offering Zion her hand.

((Hmm. Who could be behind the helmet...^_^))

And as quickly as it all started...it was over. Raze had finally come to his senses, his flaming aura fading away as he did and before any of them could stop him, he had flown off into the distance. Victoria simply stood in shock, her face slack in awe as she mentally relived the hole ordeal. What had just happened? That was the question that was fluttering through her mind. What the god-names could have posed Raze to nearly kill, not only another human being, but also one of his team-mates and best friends?

She couldn't help, but feel a little bit responsible for the whole thing. After all, it was her idea go out on the town and it was her idea to stop by the Brotherhood home too. Maybe if she hadn't been so anxious to 'live on the wild-side', Raze wouldn't have snapped and then left like he did. The longer she stood there, the worse she felt, but it was in the past...nothing could change it. There was nothing to do now, but pick up the pieces and to move on.

"You," Victoria barked, pointing directly at Kurt, "go get Morgan and 'port' him back to the Infirmary, NOW. Everyone else, we're driving home."

The fuzzy mutant obliged as Victoria shoot the Brotherhood one last fleeting glare as she turned her back on them to step into the unscathed jeep.

Seeing that Kidd's powers would soon be returning to normal, the Professor bid both McCoy and Miss. Wendon a good evening before exiting the infirmary. He had absolutely no doubt that Kidd wouldn't make a full recovery and right now, he figured that she needed a good nights sleep under the watchful eye of Beast. They could all use a good nights sleep, as it was already dark out, but the Professor's day was no where need over. He still had a meeting with one of the Institute's newest female recruits, Mori.

After finding his way back to his study, he opened the door expecting to see her waiting there, having been shown up by a student who was more familiar with the winding halls, only no one was there. Odd, he thought. He remembered that her plane was due in earlier this afternoon and a cab had been hired by her father to bring her here. Surely, she would have arrived by now, but as to why she wasn't here, he didn't worry. After all, it was late, and the girl might have been exhausted from her travels and decided to turn in early. Either way, the Professor entered his office where he decided to wait for Mori, just in case. In the mean time, there was a book of his he had been meaning to finish reading...



"Hell if I know," said Lance, agree with Zion's comment about the X-Men showing up only to start a fight and leave again. It was defiantly out of character for the whole of them, in fact, showing up and starting fights was the way the Brotherhood operated. Not the X-Men. They were to 'by the books' for anything so daring. It was almost like roles were starting to be reversed. Lance twinged mentally. Just the thought of having to live in the same building with that telepathic nut Xavier was scary enough.

"So, long as their gone," he continued, as the X-Men gathered their wounded and started to head back to conformist hole they crawled out of.

(Sorry for taking so long but my computer died for a few days and I managed to get onto another computer but their internet acces is to strict so yah, sorry! sweatdrop )

Damion materialised what was left of his form with a hand to his head. He had no trouble whatsoever reverting to his shadow form in an instant but when it came to going human again it could be extremely painfull. He was a little curious as to why Lance had completely left the battlefeild and now that he could get a full view again he noticed that everyone was gone. He ran as fast as he could to where the action was but it was already over. Ignorence was bliss enough for now though seeing as how he had completely avoided having to fight Lance whose powers were completely offensive so he was satisfied. He walked over to where the majority of the brotherhood were but he didn't say anything. Afterall, he would rather them no know about his small weekness if he could help it.

"Maybe they got bored?" Julianna offered with half a shrug. "I seriously dought it was muck up the party, to borrow your phrase Zion." She said with another shrug. "Or, if it was then those people seriously have no life...and need to get one."

Valerie sighed, sitting back where she had been before the front yard drama, Mizu huffed slightly his need for fighting had not be appeased and the little Elemental walked back and forth trying to calm himself down. his female counterpart however was rather relieved that everything had clamed down and was swaying her feet back and forth in the cool pool water.

"Those X-men sure are crazy...glad I didnt get to be part of that team!"

She chuckled to herself, melding back into her human form, but now once again soaked through, tutting to herself she found that she had been soaked more times than she had done in Japan, America certainly brought out her powers more!

"Yeah...crazy people picking on us cool cats!"

Mizu plopped himself down beside Valerie who blinked and looked down to her companion, hiding a large grin behind a raised hand

"Did you just say...cool cats....thats so old!"

The blonde let out a long laugh and Mizu's expression turned foul.
