The intermediate Moon trainee coughed up sand but was already digging through the pockets of her coat. She knew she always carried runic bandages and it had to be somewhe-
"Here it is!" she declared, rubbing sand out of her eyes with one hand while she began to unroll the bandages with the other. "This might sting," she warned as she tightly bound Nora's wounds.
Kara and Stormy thought it was a centipede, but it wasn't - it was a hunter, plain as day, right in front of him. A Moon hunter, looking as though he was on the vestiges of death, barely hanging on, the blood seeping from his uniform. But he also knew that the Sahara had played tricks on him before, and everyone, and he couldn't trust his own vision, not here.
"I don't - I don't know who or what it is," he said, after a moment. "But if it is a hunter, we can't just - we can't leave him here - "
"This entire place just keeps getting worse, doesn't it?" he said grimly as he made his way alongside Lysander and Roswell, ignoring Rinzler's voice inside of his head, muted and irritated sounding. He shouldn't even call the thing by its name.
Whatever sarcastic reply he'd been going to make was forestalled by the centipede. Nash practically ran into the others as he staggered back, hissing out a sound of surprise and irritation, almost tripping over his own personal centipede. Acheri was making wordless noises of approval inside of his head, thrilled at the possibility of reunion -
"Oh, shut up - " Nash growled. "It's not your mother."

"Shut up."
The world around them was chaotic. Nash saw Tobin fall first, then Dean, and swore loudly and creatively, stumbling in the sand, trying to avoid the onslaught as he slid to the ground in front of Tobin, reaching for one of his arms to try and yank him up.
"Get up, Toto, come on, we've gotta go back to Kansas - "
"I'M NOT UGLY," was October's extremely mature reply, but he wasn't much one for hollering when there was something looming up out of the sand that looked as though it belonged in a bad video game. October stared blankly up at the centipede, his sword held tightly in his hand as he took a step back away from it, his throat feeling tight.
"Nova - "
"October, wait - "

His head spun for a moment, once Ever'd found his feet for a moment, and he took a long breath to right himself. Dark eyes scanned the dunes, searching for familiar faces, and settled on the limp form of the one of the two injured trainees. She looked terrible; injured enough to make him shiver just a bit, staggering in her direction.
He took only two steps before his foot hit on something, and he dug out a set of runic bandages. Combined with his medkit, he could help two of them.
Two twins.
Quickly, he found his way to Luna's side and used on her without any hesitation. His own shield was still going strong.

Unsurprisingly, Lucky was the first to be hiding out and away from danger. It was just the sensible thing to do. He was sitting near to the entrance of the little cavern, peering outside occasionally at the chaos and the giant centipede of certain death and looking conflicted.
"Not yet, haven't seen him for a bit," he admitted. Another long, awkward pause during which Lucky continued to watch things play out. "Should I go look for him? I should go look for him."
Before Rep could stop him (if he even bothered to try), Lucky scrambled back out of the narrow cave entrance and was immediately set upon by a centipede. A centipede that was on fire.

Somehow, she was between one of the legs and a guy she didn't really know, and in spite of her confusion and dizziness and exhaustion, Lin shoved at the leg, pushing them both away from it.

A little too warm to play it metaphorically cool, Abbi scrambled to accept the offered water bottle, wincing at the sight of Bradley's hallucination induced version of him. She took a swig quickly and was surprised how much better just one gulp felt. A peek showed that he didn't look so charred, and a few sips later had him back to rights. "Hey, your face is back to being cute again. Cool--" Abbi started to laugh, but was cut off by the unfathomably huge centipede that rose up around them. Though she did what she could to roll out of the way, the young woman still was clawed and torn at. When she finally found her feet firmly on the ground, the behemoth rose ever higher but somehow Abbi found something important to say. "I'm having mega Mass Effect 3 flashbacks right now. Yanno, with the thresher maw?"
A mental kick made her wince and Abbi jumped into action, scrambling to find Bradley and attempt to haul him to safety. "I think now is the time for you to run and I'll run after you to make sure you're ok." She shouted, falling behind to watch his back.

Terry's sole intention at that exact moment was to get himself (and subsequently Kim) to safety. And as he ran, someone handed him a torch. Which was perfect timing because there was a mob of centipedes in the way. Because of course. What better time than now to use it and once the bugs had burned away, he realized the insects were bothering another hunter.
He doesn't say anything beyond "You should get to safety." before hefting Kim back into his arms.
He had no time to try and fix something up to keep Lawr secure to him, so he instead had to just carrying him to safety and hope for the best. This meant he had to keep Lawr on him without dropping him.
"Great!" He shouted to the world before he took off his jacket and Lawr's coat to see if he could get him into something workable. He used one under Lawr's backside and lower back to tie him against Melvin's waist while he used the other for the upper half of Lawr to tie him close, and grabbed his legs. It was what would need to happen for now to get him out and that way he could try and use a gun last minute if things really got rough. He wasn't about to kid himself that he was going to go kill a titan. Lawr getting out and to the infirmary was his only objective right now. He had a medkit so he had something to barter for Lawr's safety or something to keep him going to get him there if s**t hit the fan even worse than it was now.
Stormy's frown increased. It might have been slow from injuries, yes, but then why bother with the hunter illusion if it wasn't enticing them to let their guard down? Either way, Gale looked distraught, and her mind raced for a way to resolve the matter.
"Think of it as a very good mirage. It's okay," she said to Kara, lowering her weapon. Somehow, in spite of the chaos, the Mist's voice remained quiet and calm, as if they were in the library. "You get used to things like that here." It was grim optimism.
That was when the titan threw them for a loop--literally, for Stormy. On instinct she desummoned Thane and rolled, though the sand wasn't exactly hard material. Her heart pounded as she shook the sand away and got a look at the monster, awed and frightened simultaneously. It reminded her of the ones that had attacked the base before, though those seemed to pale in comparison now.
She should have been afraid, but Stormy was resolved against it. They had a trainee with them; even though neither of them were a Moon, it was still their job to make sure she was safe. The other hunter-centipede, however...
Her knee jerk reaction said to leave it. If it was really a hunter, they might be too far gone for them to help. And if it was really a centipede, they didn't need it around anyway. She'd only just come back; she couldn't lose Gale immediately because of an illusion. But he looked conflicted. But the titan. But...
No buts. If Gale was going to stay with the creature, then so would she. But that didn't mean Kara had to stay in danger with them.
"That's a titan. Big and ancient Fear monster. I can try and carve a path for you," Stormy told her. "Get to a safer place."

19. A passing Hunter tosses you a runic trap torch. Any small mobs you encounter will immediately be nullified by the torch.
