With Alec's help (and the strange girl's help too), all three of the waterlogged girls were now safely on dry land. But they were shivering too, shivering and stuttering and looking utterly miserable. Axel looked over at Alec, the only dry helper. "We need to get them blankets, or something."The side of the canal was littered with fishing nets and bits of debris, but there were no blankets in sight. The navy-haired girl piped up again, a lot louder this time, and the offensive accent finally pinged in Axel's head. He took a step away from Preacher, utterly taken by surprise. "I thought you were a girl!" Axel blurted out, watching Preacher wind his bizarrely long hair up. Totally smooth, Axel. He shook his head to clear it. Blankets, or towels. "Tala, Zin, can you two walk? Maybe we can go to that inn, or something... you need to get dry. And I'm Axel, by the way." It would be rude not to tell Zin his name after she'd introduced herself. He recognized her from the parade, when she'd tried to keep him and Preacher apart.

Cyril didn't actually say anything as he saw Shun walk to another spot. "And what exactly are your priorities besides being a total jerk?" He said sternly.

Shakuntala rose to standing and nodded her head in affirmation at Axel. "I-I c-c-c-can," she responded vocally. She blinked for a second when she heard the other male's word. At first, she wanted to agree that, yes, she was a girl, but then the seventeen year old realized the statement was not directed toward her. Following his line of sight, Shakuntala spied a face that was rather familiar to her.
"T-T-The b-b-boy... from t-the b-b-booth...!" she muttered in astonishment. It didn't take her quite long to connect the two; she was familiar enough to know it was a face that brought about a chagrin, especially due to her mother.
Ugh. Was Axel mistaken? Probably.
"I-I'm S-Sh-Sha-Shakunt...T-Tala..." she introduced to the blue-haired female she didn't have the opportunity to talk to before. She was a familiar face, however. The Semblance of Unity No probs. <3 Sorry about thaat~ Edited as well to reflect this.

"Surviving."It was all Shun said as he brought his net up, coming up with nothing yet again. He didn't feel particularly obliged to explain further. There were doubts that Cyril would really understand what it was like to be out on the streets, scrapping to get by so that one might live to see the next day. He shook his head to himself, then glanced over at the small bit of chaos nearby. It looked like they were all set now, back on the shore. Satisfied with that, he turned back to his task at hand.

"Yeah..none of them can stand around in the morning chill Axel. Catching a cold this time of year would suck." Alec agreed. Blinking when he saw the tangled ropes being hauled out by Axel the younger boy paused, tapping a finger to his chin. "Hey, I wonder if thats the rope I lost trying to save Lillian..." Shaking his head, he sighed a bit. Laughing a bit awkwardly given he'd lost a few ropes in his attempts to save people the boy rubbed the back of his neck. Looking to Zin he nodded some. "Alright. I know you from the Parade, we just never exchanged names I don't think." he gave her a smile. "Come on, the Inns not far. I know a side street." He offered, knowing the Inn keeper would at least have spare blankets. Glancing between the small group of people. His gaze rest on Tala for a moment longer than some of the others, wondering if it would be wise if later he asked her if his signature on the sign up papers was actually acceptable or not. Or maybe he'd ask Lily.. So was Preacher a boy or girl? Now Alec was even confused. The hair was misleading..but the others mannerisms and actions spoke otherwise. He was pretty sure only Preacher really knew. Maybe in time perhaps the actual truth would be spoken for. For now, Alec let the other behave as he wished if that was how Preacher wished it to be anyway. "I think some debris is still floating around, I'll come back once everyones dried off and take a look I guess." Alec squinted, up on his tip toes looking around in wonder.

Preacher looked up at Alec suspiciously. She wasn't used to having people just... offer things. "Welllll.... iffin it ain't c-cost me anythin'." Once again that cheeky grin popped out. As long as she ignored Axel, Preacher was less prone to anger. "I kin obviously use s-somethin' so's I don't d-drown one day." The chill still snaked through her and she shivered violently, wrapping her wet vest closer about her. Her net toga was gone, lost forever to the cruel depths of the canal. "Oh, btw, I'm Preacher." She said to both Zinnia and Alec. "H-Hey, Shakuntala. Think yer mum's c-curry would warm us right up ye kin? Sure as s-s**t, I'm right ********' c-" Her voice was cut off by Axel's exclamation. Her smile vanished. as a frission of anger snaked down her back. Slowly, she turned to face him, eyes narrowed. When she spoke, her voice was mocking and tight. "D-did I make ya m-manhood waver there, Axeeeeel?" The prolonged shiver ruined some of the effect, however, as did her cough. "And I guess I d-dun need ta get dry. S-since ya think I'm beneath ya, I''ll j-just die of exposure." And then she just stood there, staring at Axel. NaomiNaomi sorry Preacher still has the stance & mannerisms & rough face & such of a boy . true reveal is not until trainees >.< just think of her as a boy woith really long hair

Zin nodded in acknowledgement as introductions were passed around. At the mention of blankets, she perked up a bit. Yes, a chance to dry off and get warm would be perfect... She glanced between Preacher and Axel nervously. She hoped that they wouldn't start fighting again... She just wanted everyone to have a safe and happy parade!

"The inn it is, then," Axel said. He had some money. A little. Not much. But enough to buy a little food at least for the girls. And Preacher. He shot Preacher a very dark look, suddenly furious. He had gotten to the point where he could sort-of tolerate Preacher's sharp tongue (blargh, tongue) in private, but having already been humiliated in front of a bunch of people he was not keen on doing that again. Besides, he had just helped Preacher, hadn't he? Some thanks! Axel couldn't help glancing at Tala and Zin, worried that they would laugh at him. "Worry about your own manhood," Axel snarled. He hadn't talked about drying Preacher off because he was afraid of precisely this--Preacher teasing him for his concern. And now he felt guilty and ashamed for not fretting over Preacher, of all things. "You can come to the damn inn with us too. Maybe we'll meet Saga." He grabbed for Preacher's wrist, ready to drag him to the inn. Tala and Zin needed to dry off, not stand around listening to him and Preacher b***h at each other.

Alec blinked, sort of staring at the boy who was his size approximately. "Wh..?" He squinted at the other when he asked about it costing him. "I didn't say you'd have too pay me. I'm just offering, cuz yea, landing in water and being helpless is no good. I'll show you if you wish, thats all." The red head answered with a shrug. No strings attached. Nothing. Alec like times before, would do something and expect nothing in return unless stated otherwise. So his name was Preacher? He'd keep that in mind, it was better than 'Hey you' or some other variation. "Hey you two." Alec moved the two apart, sort of wedging himself between. He too had coin it wouldn't all be on the blonde boy to provide for everyone. "Just walk." He grunted at his friend giving him a 'what is your deal' in response to his snarling at Preacher. Neither of them were any better, here Preacher was egging him on. No wonder they ended up scuffling a bunch. "Oi." he sighed, smiling despite this. "And NO don't say his name. You might summon him." Alec clearly remembered who Saga was, his face going a bit pale. Not the man who rode around on Deakon like he was made of glitter and all that sparkled. Alec gave Axel a look as if insisting he not repeat himself. (going afk for a few, like i said in thread feel free to assume he shoved coin a axel when offered and then leaves to go back to cleaning up, otherwise will tag when i can i dont mind <3 )

"M' manhood's fine n' intact, t-thanks fer askin'! I never knew ya cared." Preacher shot back. Something about that man made her itch for a fight. Maybe it was his smugness, or his high-handed way of trying to order her around. And his hand grabbed her wrist. Axel had big hands and he could easily closed the entirety of them around her wrists. She jerked back, then threw her head back, sighing dramatically as she was pulled. "Someone t-tell this big ol' l-lunk to stop draggin' me all Willy-nilly. Alec, Zinny?" She briefly debated just going entirely limp and seeing if Axel would continue to drag her along the ground. Instead, she turned her head towards Zinnia, as if imparting some great secret. "You see, he jus' like p-puttin' his hands on me. W-what kin a guy do? N' Alec, iffin I could summon a f-field marshal, I'da used that skill fer many things l-long ago." Why was it taking so long to get to the inn?

Crown Shard 2Rikki joined the others as they cleaned the canal of the debris. He took a net and scooped it through the water, waiting til he felt it snag on something heavier before he brought it back up. When he brought it back to dry land there appeared be a piece of... something. It kind of looked familiar. "Hey Danny, does this go with the thing you found?"

Zin pursed her lips, looking at the limp Preacher. "Just don't fight, okay?" she said. "If we all get along, we can get warmed up... and maybe take a hot shower," she added, wrinkling her nose when she caught a whiff of her own scent. The canal water was not a flattering fragrance. She kept walking, deciding to let Preacher deal with Axel on his own.

Yap yap yap. Axel tried to ignore Preacher's stream of complaints and insults as he dragged the shorter boy towards the inn. He could fuss at Preacher later. He'd already embarrassed himself by snapping at Preacher in front of the girls and Alec. At least Zin and Alec could tell that Preacher was egging him on, right? And why was Preacher carrying around a flower garland? Axel was still fuming about Preacher when they got to the inn, but he let go of Preacher's wrist. Alec had offered to help pay for the meal, which was good, because Axel didn't have enough money on his own. He pressed a couple of coins in the innkeeper's hand and waited for the bedraggled trio of wet people to find themselves seats. He himself asked the innkeeper for blankets, which he carried over to the table. Aaargh, why was he in here again? "Well... how are you all feeling now?"
