YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE.Edel had the most sickening of wake up calls as she simply failed to notice where she was going and tripped, crashing into the forest floor and landing on her wounds. It was almost pitiful that she even thought that she could outrun the dummy, as the hardest of stomps came down on her right lower leg.
The ghoul simply could not help herself but let out a painful scream. Tears came streaming out of her eyes as she looked up towards the dummy, looking worn out but still having a go at her. Shuffling and pulling herself away from the animated doll, her mind was still in a complete disarray. At the looks of it from where she was, she was completely at the mercy of the opponent. Edel struggled to get herself to think. Think. The dummy was moving differently today but its weaknesses would still remain, whether or not they were lesser this time round. She had to accept the fact that she was armed with a dagger and had to fight in close range, disregard her fear and intimidation of the opponent and stop running away.
She had to stop running away and fight back, and do so properly. She was not going to walk away from a week's training at War still a coward and a weakling. HP: 16 /40 Damage Dealt: 0 Opponent's HP: 4 /30 Damage Blocked/Evaded: No Previous Posts: Fort roll Attack 1 Attack 2 Attack 3

YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE.Still unable to achieve quite the amount of calm and focus as she did yesterday, the ghoul began the search to regain her center by clearing the mess of jumbled thoughts in her mind, removing the distractions and fears one by one. It was true that the dummy was looking much more menacing while being covered in thorns, but the vines only draped around a few areas – it was not a full body protection as she had feared, there were still many, many weak points for her to exploit. She was currently at a disadvantage while on the ground – what could she do to change that and turn it around? The ghoul was finally looking at the place around her. What could she use?
The moment came when the ghoul was finally able to put a proper plan together. It had to work, she had to make it work, if she were to emerge victorious. Gathering her courage and pulling herself together, she set off to execute the first step of her plan. Picking up a simple stone that lay near her, the ghoul diverted the dummy's attention by throwing the rock at it, then seizing the opportunity to her her leg to swipe at its feet and down it. It came as a sacrifice as the ghoul winced in pain while the thorns cut into her flesh, but the plan was going smoothly. The dummy was now on the ground.
All there was left to do was the next step to end it.HP: 10 /40 Damage Dealt: 1 Opponent's HP: 3 /30 Damage Blocked/Evaded: No Previous Posts: Fort roll Attack 1 Attack 2 Attack 3 Attack 4

SWEET VICTORY!YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE.Everything was coming to her again as she got to her feet and leapt at the dummy. Right foot pinning down the left arm of the dummy while she swiftly drove the dagger into where its heart would be. It was quick, it was simple. It was over in that instant. She had done it.
The body remained motionless on the ground as Edel, exhausted, dropped down to sit by its side. The dagger still remained in the dummy as the ghoul sat still to breathe and think. It wasn't the way she had hoped the fight was going to end, she had sustained far too many injuries today than she should have. Again, she made the same mistake she did on the second day of training by not realising how important it was to approach the battle with a clear head, only that the consequences for not doing so were far worse this time. It was pathetic that in the heat of battle, or when she was being tried in an environment outside the conventional classroom, that she would fall back to relying on her instincts and mixing panic in.
Edel turned to look at the dummy that lay beside her, trying to imagine what it would feel like it that had been a real ... alive opponent. A hunter. Would she have been as foolish as she was to hold previous expectations of it and expect things to go smoothly? Perhaps. However, she was more aware of the fact that the hunters would gotten stronger over time, including those trainees she had first encountered. ... She just didn't expect the dummies to have gotten a power up so quickly overnight. Cybele was putting them on a steep learning curve here.
Having finally caught her breath and tended to some of her wounds, the ghoul reached over and pulled the dagger out of the doll's chest. Cutting off a string of normal vine, she tied it around the dummy and dragged it back to where the class had began, depositing it in the pile and returning her weapon to the rack. At the very least, she could be proud that she made it through the last day. Bowing to Cybele once more, the ghoul left to head back to the village for the rest of the day.HP: 10 /40 Damage Dealt: 4 Opponent's HP: -1 /30 Damage Blocked/Evaded: Yes Previous Posts: Fort roll Attack 1 Attack 2 Attack 3 Attack 4 Attack 5

Mitzi was happy enough to have class on the forest floor again, and was quite glad to have solid ground under her feet. She might be growing better at handling her fear of heights, but she was still happy to be somewhere that she didn't have to worry about that at all.
The ghoul was more than a little frustrated to discover that her choice of weapon the day before was going to remain today. She had done spectacularly poorly with her bow, which she had picked up more to push herself than because she believed she'd have any sort of knack for it. Well, she had what she had; she'd have to make up for it in some other way. And if they got to build fortifications today, that meant that she would have to build a spectacular fort, with the best resources available, to ensure that no mannequin would be able to break through it.
She took a few moments to close her eyes, thinking back to the first day of class and even further back to her lessons with her grandfather as a scareling. She found her center, calmed her mind, trying to rid herself of the worries that her since the Trials. Had it worked? Not fully, she knew, as she opened her eyes. But it would have to do, the horsewoman training them would probably not be impressed if she dawdled. She could continue to focus her mind, and begin to plan her strategy, as she gathered supplies to use for her fort.
She took her time looking around the forest, but the best thing she found was a partially-damaged cliff, with many sharp rocks sitting at its base. She gathered as many as she could carry, toting them back to the clearing; and then she repeated the procedure. If this was the best she could find, she was going to take as much advantage of it as she could. Then she took one last trip back into the woods, picking up any sort of sharp underbrush she could find - pinecones and small broken pieces of wood, things that would cause a little damage but not much.
Back at the clearing, she dug out a small, defensible hole, just large enough for herself. The dirt she used for the primary fortifications, and although it looked sturdy, she doubted it would hold against any serious attack. So she studded her pinecones through the wall, so that if and when the mannequin reached her, it at least take significant damage from her defenses. Then she laid down the rocks in front of her wall, gathered right where the mannequin would be walking. By the time it reached her it wouldn't matter where she did damage, and this was the best way to ensure all of her stones did as much as possible.
With her fort prepared, she ducked into her hole, and then looked up to find Cybele already activating a mannequin for her. She pulled up her bow, nervous, worried, but determined to do her best.

As the mannequin started to stalk forward, Mitzi pulled back her arrow and let fly. Her aim had certainly improved from the day before, as her first strike was a solid one to the mannequin's shoulder. Unfortunately although it did reasonable damage, the mannequin continued forward. Her next strike almost hit the mannequin's knee, which it pulled back at the last second to avoid the arrow. Unfortunately for the mannequin, it clearly wasn't very bright, as this threw off its balance. She had a few extra moments as it righted itself, so by the time it did she had her next arrow knocked. And then she managed to graze the mannequin's head with her next arrow. On an actual target, maybe she would have gotten an ear, but it still wasn't anything impressive. And then she managed again to barely miss the mannequin's legs, causing it to move to avoid the arrow. Its food landed on an uneven rock, stumbling, giving Mitzi a bit more time as it righted itself. Flush with victory over that last arrow, she tried to be careful to aim again, but she was starting to find that her emotions did seem to affect how well she hit. She was a bit too excited now, and released too quickly, only managed to graze the mannequin's side. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. And now the mannequin was getting close, and the ghoul was worried that that it would reach her. It wasn't even noticeably damaged, beyond the couple arrows sticking out of it. And then the mannequin was right in front of her, and she pulled back the bow as hard as she could. There was no way she could miss from point blank range, right? So she needed to get as much power in it as she could. She took one breath before releasing it, just to calm her nerves, to make sure the arrow didn't go wild, and then fwip thunk it was away, and a perfect strike right on the mannequin's head. The blow didn't even knock it backwards, though, and it kept coming forward. Mitzi started digging around beside her for another arrow, not certain she could get another shot out in time, but luckily it turned out not to be necessary. As the mannequin came up upon her rocks, it stumbled, and then fell, the rocks damaging it badly. Somehow it managed to make it back to its feet, but it had started glitching, just like the one the day before. Small spasms showed that Mitzi's attacks had weakened it significantly, and as it started pulling apart her barricade it continued to get worse. The ghoul had backed up to the rear of her "fort", trying to nock and arrow to the bow, but there simply wasn't room. Then, just as the mannequin had just about destroyed her wall, it ground to a halt. Mitzi found herself breathing hard, and it took a few moments to be sure the mannequin was "dead". Then she climbed out of her hole, looking around to be sure she had, in fact finished. And won! It was a bit of a surprise. She headed over to the weapons racks, leaving her bow, before heading back towards the village. ((Exiting)) SWEET VICTORY! YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Joachim felt slightly more confident when reaching the clearing today then he had for the week he had been at the clan of War. He didn’t do so well in the meditation however his skills with the bow the day before had reassured he had some sort of ability to fight and defend. Yet today wasn’t just about taking all of the skills he had learned, not it included something rather amusing building a fort. He hadn’t done something like building a fort unless it included sheets over chairs and him hiding with his mice bundled around a candle.
Picking up the bow that looked familiar to him he quickly headed to an empty space of ground and started to build the base of the fort. It stood about four feet high with notches in the top that allowed him to shoot his bow without destroying his own wall. Not wasting any time he took off to the woods, quickly gathering up pine cones, sharp sticks, and his particular favorite from a previous battle vines. He picked the vines that were no longer attached or at least he could pull apart without using his arrows to the cut them.
He neatly laid the vines over the walls of the fort, avoiding the areas he had left clear to shoot the mannequin. Taking the pointed stick he stuck them a few inches away from the bottom of the base of his wall and faced them away. He littered the pinecones rest of the ground with pinecones in front of his base.
Now it was time to wait as he took his stance behind wall, his arrow notched and ready to fire.
Total Base HP: 5 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 16hp
