Kirune shook her head quietly. She pushed her glasses up and sighed. Eric wouldn't want to hear her problems anyway. "Nothing really." Namine said. She turned to Kirune and winked. They would need to talk in private soon...

Eric shrugged. "Ok then. Just let me know if anything is bugging you. I planned this vacation for you girls. I'd hate to have it ruined by some petty annoyance," he said. Hmm. Looks like I'm not going to get anything out of them. I'll just leave them alone. Perhaps they have personal agendas to discuss. I hope this isn't what I think it's going to turn out to be. I hate movies that do that, he thought standing up. "I'll leave you two alone. I need to grab my shirt anyway," he said walking off. Lawrence finished setting up one tent. He began to set up the other.

"So what did you tell him?" Namine asked Kirune and sat by her. "I loved him." Kirune blushed. "Oh." Namine laughed and gave Kirune a hug. "You messed up. But you should tell him eventually."

Eric picked up his clothes from where he dropped them. He tried to shake the sand out of them. They were still gritty. He cursed and tried to think of a way to clean the clothing. He had an idea.

Kirune and Namine talked more. They would look over at Eric or Lawrence and giggle. Alex continued to eat marshmellows.

Eric decided he'd just dip his clothes in the ocean and hang them to dry from a nearby tree. looks like I'm sleeping shirtless tonight. I doubt it'll get that cold anyway, he thought. Lawrence finished setting up the other tent.

Alex walked to Lawrence and pulled on his shirt. "Hey Lawrence, how come girls act weird when they're talking? They keep looking at you and Eric and giggling." Peppermint trotted over to Eric and watched him, wondering what he was doing.

Eric smiled and began petting peppermint. "Who do we have here? It's little peppermint. How's it going dog?" He said. Lawrence chuckled. " Thats something men will never know. Women are the most complex creatures you'll ever encounter. You won't realize it until you're about 12 though. Now you're in a state of innocence you can only achieve with youth," he said.

Eric smiled and pet peppermint's belly. "You're so soft. I love it!" He said. He looked around to see if anyone was watching him then continued petting the dog. Lawrence shrugged. " Trust me little man, there is no possible way to fully understand women. Especially teenage ones. They will love you one minute and want to kill you the next. It's better to just roll along with it so you get hurt as little as possible," he said.

Peppermint wagged his tail as Eric pet his belly. "Alright." Alex nodded. "Why don't guys act that when they're teenagers?"

Eric continued rubbing the puppy's belly. Lawrence shrugged. " I guess it's because women stole all the crazy," he said jokingly.

Eric smiled and looked at peppermint. He grabbed a nearby stick and shook it in front of the dog. "Fetch? You want to play?" He said gleefully. Lawrence chuckled. " I feel like such a sagely old man now," he said jokingly. " offering advice to all who seek me. I need a mountain home and a long beard," he said.

Peppermint jumped up, barked and wagged his tail more. He waited for Eric to throw the stick. Alex laughed a bit. "You're still young. Still, at least you're not my age. I'm still 8 years old. 9 In a few days."
