"No, but it's more threatening that way and I still got my point across." Mala giggled, still keeping that eerilly cheerful demeanor as she spoke.

"You're right, the job of priestess really doesn't suit you." Van said before getting to his feet. "As fun as this little bonding session has been, I'm bored and I'm gonna go take a nap." he said before wandering off to find a spare room below deck.
((Pirate attack! Storm! We need action! I refuse to let this rp die until Van gets his shmexy body back!))

{Ask and you shall recieve. biggrin }
Mala rolled her eyes as Van left. She was about to head back to the top deck herself when all of the sudden, something made quite an impact against the ship. She heard yelling and the sharpening of swords, which only lead Mala to believe that pirates were attacking the ship. "Oh s**t! I better hide!" she exclaimed out loud, unfortunately, being unsure of where she should hide.

"Aw, COME ON!!" Van said in frustration as he looked out a porthole to see a pirate ship looming nearby.
((Off to lunch, then class. I shall returneth later.))

{Okay, see you when you get back! biggrin }
Mala ran over in Van's direction, now only thinking of protecting Riley's body and finding a good spot for them both to hide until everything tides over.

As the ship rocked from another impact, Van clung to a post to steady himself. "Oh, this is not going to help my seasickness..." he moaned.

Mala exclaimed, "Van! We need to hide; come on!" She reached for his hand, and planned on leading him to a room in an even lower deck. She was afraid, clearly, but wouldn't let this stop her from protecting her brother's body.

"You really think our misfit crew up there could hold off a pirate attack?" Van asked as Mala pulled him along. It was hard to tell, but even he was a little scared for their situation.

"Well, we either hide and escape when they aren't looking or we get captured and get raped and/or killed!" Mala retorted, her grip on his hand rather tight as she lead him to one room. She shut the door behind her, taking a deep breath afterwards. "I'm going to put up a barrier soon. Okay?"

"Alright. I just hope your barrier magic is better than your healing." Van said searching the room for anything he could use as a weapon.

"Lest you've forgotten, my barrier is what kept us from being crushed by the Little Red Psycho earlier on!" Mala snapped. After this, she took a couple more deep breaths and sat down on the floor, her back against the door as she began to concentrate on making a barrier around the room. Her barriers were strong, but would be extremely stronger if she could keep her concentration. If not, her beariers would be quite a bit weaker and depending on the opponent - maybe even easilly broken.

Van sighed nervously, a broken board in hand as a makeshift weapon before sitting down next to Mala against the door. If pirates were on their way, he wanted to try and hear them coming.

Mala held no expression on her face as she kept the barrier up. She looked calm and peaceful, almost as if she were sleeping.
The sound of swordfighting and sailors' cursing rang loud and clear for the next hour or so, calming down eventually - which meant that there were already winners. Hurried footsteps could be heard above. Before lnog, a couple were heard from a short distance from their door. Two of the pirates were talking.
"Y'sure we should look down here? It doesn't look like there are many supplies here." "Shut yer trap and keep looking! One of the cowards sang loud and clear and he said that there were more people on board! A kid and some harlot, in fact. Captain says we need to find both before we burn this trash-heap of a ship!"

Van flinched fearfully at this. Trying to take on a hoard pirates would probably turn out about as well as his attack against Jaquel. 'What are the chances they'd let us off the hook if I told them who I am? I mean pirates are basically thieves of the ocean, right?' he thought to himself as he gripped his board. 'Oh who am I kidding? The only reason Mala believed me was because I took over her brother's body!'

One of the pirates tried to come closer, but he failed. The barrier repelled the pirate, making him slam right against the wall.
"Goddamn! Wha' the hell jus' happened?!" one exclaimed. The other, the one who was slammed against the wall, groaned in pain and struggled to get up. "Ugh..wasamainameagain?" he asked in a slirred speach before passing out. "s**t! Better tell the captain." the other muttered before heading upwards and out of that deck.
