I'd say a limit is good, but only on personal jutsu. If everyone can learn it, it shouldn't count.
Though really, even personal jutsu should be made public eventually. Such as when the user dies, or an Uchiha comes along.

Arcus brought this up earlier i think, but i am a little curious? what happens when a ninja runs out of chakra? do they go unconscious (like in the real naruto world) or do they just lose the aility to perform jutsu? Considering taijutsu doesnt really use chakra, this is probably something that would be good to clear up.

If a ninja runs out of chakra...they die....their chakra is their life..use it up and you die...that is what i know from reading Naruto...

I'm pretty sure the generally accepted method of dealing with chakra loss, is to get tired. It's your energy, and you're using it to fight with. Using up all of it would knock you right out. I don't think you die from it though... We'd have a lot of dead kages running around if that were the case.

they would fall unconscious (though I thought in the show/manga a person would die if they ran out of chakra? maybe I'm just not remembering it right)

(They do die...Kakashi died when he used the last of his chakra to save Choji during the Pein invasion on Konoha Arc and died.)

Its basically like this, you have a certain amount of chakra. (ninja/everyday energy) should you use all of your energy (chakra) you pass out. (If you go 'over' your limit, you die)
So if you use a jutsu that would put you in the negatives, or get drained while unconscious from exhaustion. you'll die. At least, that would reflect the manga's way of doing things.

Its basically like this...Use it until you have almost none left..you pass out....use it all completely...your dead
Thats how it works in the Manga/Show.

Have you ever seen the Uchiha clan follow any set rules? Sheesh, you ask too much woman!
But yeah, if you have the sharingan, you should make sure to know ALL the rules of it. Same with any bloodline.

In the chakra system rules it says if you exhaust your chakra then you pass out. because say a Genin is fighting a chunnin, like what happens in the anime A LOT Or like when ever Naruto was fighting against Itachi with Kakashi, He used rasengan and other jutsu what? like five times? taking his 18 points of chakra into account, he completely should have died. as such, i think that the Chakra you are allowed is only up till you fall unconsience, that last bit of your chakra isn't listed, making you unable to die from chakra exhaust, like naruto in the Forest while learning chakra control.

well his clan wasn't really worth mentioning. to my understanding they are fairly distant relatives of the first hokage's clan (which was a combination of a multitude of small families). And while i don't appreciate your avatar borderline mooning us, I do agree with the fact that sasuke's uchiha blood, and naruto's kyuubi grant them exceptions from rules such as death by over use of chakra. As pointed out before, kakashi doesn't have such a boon.
