Train shoved her thumbs hard into the inner corners of her dark jeans’ pockets and walked up to her side of the battlefield. She lifted her left hand and unclipped one of the PokéBalls from her belt, the proceeded to toss the ball into the air, letting it roll off of the tips of her fingers, giving it a spin. The red and white sphere opened and her Rattata formed in the beam of light, already crouched into a fighting position and staring down the Rhyhorn opposite him.
”Rocks are dull,” She finally spoke up. ”Ladies first, right~? Rattata, start off with Tail Whip!” She commanded. A pretty basic move, but it would definitely help to lower the Rhyhorn’s defense, even if it was just a bit. As she though about this, something hit her, and Train quickly pulled out her PokéDex from her back pocket. She flipped it open and scanned Rattata, scrolling through the information until she got to the list of moves he had, and was happy to see there seemed to be a nice list there. One move came as a surprise, but it would be awfully helpful so she didn’t question it, and slipped the device back into her pocket and returned her attention to the battle, where Rattata was leaping at Rhyhorn to try and smack him with his tail.

"I will give you two pokeballs, but please... your eyes were telling me you would have fought me otherwise. I dont like that. " Maxi said with a somewhat threatening smile. Mike laughed a crooked laugh in response.
"You'll find there are many things about me you don't like." He said with a grin, taking the Pokeballs from his new 'friend'. Maxi then mentioned something about not wanting to fight. "You'll forgive me if I have a hard time believing that. I you were in my shoes, you might be a little more cautious. PARANOID EVEN! HA-HA!" He whipped around, happy to see that the Torkoal had not moved much in the past minute. "Oh, I'm Mi-...Mi-..." the boy fumbled over his words. "Truth be told, I'm not sure I know anymore." he mumbled to himself. "OhwaitnowIremember MIKE KYOKA! DEFENDER OF HOENNsorta. I may have fudged that up once or twice, but that is of NO consequence!" He took a step forward and threw a dramatic point towards the Coal Pokemon, which turned to look at him. A chunk of coal hung from its mouth. "HEAR ME VESUVIUS! Heehee! That'syournameIALREADYTHOUGHTOFANAMEFORYOU-AREN'TYOUEXCITED!? HAHAHAHA! Today, you become MINE! A token to my beautiful Flannery, my undying love, eternal as the sunshine itself!" He gripped the two Pokeballs in his hand so tightly his fingers popped. Mike looked back at Napalm, tilting his head towards the Torkoal.
The Magmar snapped to attention, surprised that he was the one that was picked when both Nitro and Portabello were there. His shock only lasted a few seconds before he ran forward, placing himself in between his trainer and the Pokemon.
"Punctual and loyal as always, Napalm." Mike said with a smile. "You could learn a thing or two from that Vesuvius!" The Torkoal still just stared blankly, not entirely certain of what was going on. He was just eating some coal... "That's alright, we'll have all the time in the world to train when I CAPTURE YOU!" He laughed again. "Napalm, Psychic!"
The Magmar slammed his foot to the ground, a black cloud of soot uprooting between his clawed toes. His eyes began to glow a bright purple as he thrust his hands forward. The air became distorted as the telekinetic wave shot at the Torkoal, slamming it in the face. The coal in his mouth practically exploded into dust, but the Pokemon remained rooted to the floor. It stared back, its normally complacent eyes showing more than a hint of anger.
------ "Quoi?" Sasha asked, confused. She felt Kasiya let go of her hand and barrel off in another direction, apparently chasing after someone she knew. "Oh, okay." there was more than a hint of disappointment in her voice as her companion sped off.
"Hey Kasiya! Sasha!" a familiar voice called out from behind. Sasha looked around to find Mitsu of all people flagging them down. At least she looks happy. Sasha thought, once again thinking back to the day before. Sure, Mitsu had said some mean things to Mike that day, but she couldn't really blame her. Shaking those thoughts from her head, the pink haired girl returned the smile and waved at her friend.
"Bonjour Mitsu," she said elegantly. "Care to join us in our bas'ing suits?" Sasha added a foxy wink to her question, already gearing up for round two of dress up.

"Oh good," Riza said, nodding. She was glad to see that the battle was still going, though she wasn't sure who had the upper hand. Swinub was looking pretty tired but Raichu seemed to be bursting with energy. 'It's not looking too good for Crenu,' she thought, frowning. It seemed that having the inability to use Raichu's powerful electric-type attacks on the ground-type Swinub had forced the gym leader to pull out all the stops. 'Even when I'm not the one battling I'm still learning a lot,' she thought watching as Raichu raced forward with a quick attack. "Come on, Crenu!" she called suddenly. "You can do it! Don't let them beat you!" she cheered loudly. * * * * * Genki hopped back out of the way as the Cranidos and all his clones came crashing to the ground, and he looked up at the now clear sky as the sandstorm came to an end as well. There was still the tricky situation of figuring out which of the ancient Pokemon to attack but Katie had been planning ahead and had a plan in mind to get past it.
"Good work, Genki!" she called out to the Monferno. She was so impressed with how much stronger and faster he had become since evolving. "Now use mach punch! Try to eliminate as many of those fakes as you can!" she commanded.
Genki nodded and sped forward, rearing back his fist as he prepared to attack the many Cranidos that were lying on the ground. He chose to sacrifice power for speed so that he could get to as many as he could before the real Cranidos was able to pull himself back up again.

Raichu was to good right now, the damn thing hadn't taken a single direct hit from any of Swinub's ground type moves. Swinub on the other hand wasn't quite so agile in dodging, it just goes to show how much speed and maneuverability really meant in a battle against strong opponents. Not all Pokemon were quick on their feet though, and the pokemon that weren't didn't need to be most of the time as bulkier builds usually meant they were better at taking hits. Once Swinub evolved he might fit into that category a little better but as it was now he was at a complete loss in stats against his opponent. Damn it. There's no time to dodge and we can't take that hit. Swinub's going to have to block it somehow, tackle might have enough power but it's not going to be fast enough... Crenu barely had time to register Riza's cheer as Raichu launched forward with the clear intention of pulverizing Swinub into nothing. "Swinub Icy Wind, try and slow that attack..." There wasn't much confidence in that plan but it was the best idea he could think of. Crenu was hoping it would work, but he was ready to see Swinub fall if it failed. But the Pig pokemon wasn't ready to lay down just yet, staring down the oncoming Raichu as he prepared his Icy Wind, but something clicked in his mind at that moment, something he and Ken had gone over once but he still hadn't fully grasped. It was perfect for this moment, it just felt right! For the second time in this battle Swinub wasn't going to listen to Crenu, the cold in his body immediately building up faster than usual. Swinub felt good about this move, it felt like he cuold really put some of his power behind it not like the other moves as he exhaled as a rather large chunk of solid ice formed in front of his body. The chunk was shot out at Raichu incredibly fast, colliding with his enemy and leaving him enough time to roll away in case the thunder mouse powered through his new move. And of course, Crenu was left unsure about what had just happened. "Oh I can't watch!" Ken cried out as he covered his eyes when Surge issued the command for Quick Attack. But he was only playing, of course he was going to watch! Kenn peered through his fingers not really wanting to see Swinub get clobbered but knowing that a match wasn't over until the flag was waved. "Oh Icy Wind, he must be trying to reduce Quick Attack's speed to avoid major damage...but that's risky. I'm not really sure it's going to work, my Shiro must be frustrated." But as he watched in anticipation there was a gleam in his eye when the brown fuzzball formed an ice chunk so suddenly. Perfect! He didn't think Swinub would remember that move, they only practiced it once, he had just learned it! "Way to go Swinub! Beautiful Ice Shard!" Oh how magnificent, Swinub managed to buy himself some time and maybe Crenu could pull through this after all! Oh but Surge was sure to take this as a sign to end this soon before Crenu and Swinub could turn the tides. "Oh I'm so excited I can't breathe! Well not really. But you know what I mean. Heh heh heh, Go Shiro!"
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "Huh, you send a mouse in against my stone tank? That's gotta be one mighty Rattata or the little thing's just gonna end up crushed under our might!" Brock watch patiently as Rattata leaped forward and tried smacking Rhyhorn with his tail, the cute little thing brushing along the Spikes Pokemon's face. Cute as it may have been, it made Rhyhorn feel a bit odd and at the same time angered the stone rhino and he just roared at the purple rat. "Heh heh, thinks rocks are dull? Let's show her the sharper side of a stone Rhyhorn, Horn Attack now!" Rhyhorn bellowed out with joy as he stamped his feet on the ground and reared back as he lowered his head, looking straight at Rattata with his horn and rushing forward. Rhyhorn was simple in mind, easily angered and a bit single tracked, which was part of what made this pokemon so efficient as a tank. All he could think of now was skewering the little runt right on his horn!

Serenity thought about it for a moment. Kasiya was awfully nice, and she really didn't need to search Sere out when she saw that she was there. Though the idea of staying out in public with all of these people was starting to make her hyperventilate. 'Get a hold of yourself. It shouldn't be this hard to hang out with new people.' She scolded herself.
"Yes. I-I think that might be fun." Sere nodded, trying her best to give a smile to the friendly girl. "Plus I'm sure George would hate it if I kept him in his pokeball for the entire trip.
She started to turn and go with Kasiya but found it hard to let go over the door knobb she last latched on to. 'Enough now. Now I go make friends.' She told her self. She pried her hand off the door knob with the other hand, which she was sure must have looked completely bizzare to Kasiya.

The Machop struggled to get up but finally it seemed like Black*Stars last attack had done her in. Falling to the ground the Machop could only watch as her opponent celebrated. John sighed as he returned his pokemon while she might not have been unconscious there was just no way she could continue to battle that Totodile. He had never seen a pokemon that was so young be so strong. "Wow that certainly is some pokemon you have there! I don't think I have ever seen one with such raw talent." He wasn't even exaggerating there, he would hate to face that Totodile when it had more experience under its belt.
Meanwhile Robin, Luffy and Black*Star were doing a victory dance on their side of the arena. "Haha! Wow you did a great job Black*Star! I know your gunna be the best!" Laughing again she picked up and spun him around before setting him down on the ground. "Ok I know how much you would like to go onto the next battle but I want the others to have some fun yeah? We all know you would win so how about you let the others get a chance to fight yeah?" Robin asked him a serious look on her face. Black*Star seemed to think for a moment before he nodded, yes he would destroy everything else that they sent against him, it was only fair to let the others have a little fun.
Glancing over at John she gave him a little smile before she thought a bit and before pulling out Brooks pokeball. "Well now that that battle is out of the way we can get on with the rest of the battle yeah?"
"My thoughts exactly." John said pulling out a pokeball of his own.
"All right the second round of this battle is about to begin!" The announcer um, announced.
"Hah let's get this battle started Brook!" Robin called as she tossed out his pokeball. Brook appeared on the field with a happy cry before getting a determined stance and looked like he was ready to take on anything.
He would have to be ready to take out anything because John just grinned as he sent out a strong looking Tauros. The bull pokemon snorted loudly as it looked around for its opponent before actually looking down to find the tiny Skiploom. "Heh, your Skiploom is gunna go down easy as pie."
OK, wow this, this was gunna be a problem." Robin said as she looked at the angry bull pokemon. "That's ok though, I know Brook can take it down!" Robin said with confidence.
Now normally Brook would be scared out of his mind. However at the moment he had a little trick up his nonexistent sleeves. Grinning Brook released a large puff of powder disappearing inside of it.
"Your Smokescreen isn't gunna help you out! Tauros charge right through him with your Horn Attack!" The large bull pokemon let out a loud moo as it dug its hoves into the ground and charged forward its head lowered. Before Brook could do anything or Robin could do anything the large pokemon had already ran through the smoke. "Heh my Tauros probably just trampled your little Skiploom into a pulp."
It certainly seemed like that was the case as the smoke powder still stayed around in the arena. Robin waited knowing that Brook was fine but wishing she could at least see her pokemon to have her hope verified. It was then that out of the smoke a blue and white puffball shot up into the air before floating gently down onto the battle field again. "Brook?" Robin questioned squinting over at the still small but now blue pokemon. The small puffball grinned and lifting up one of its small cottonspore hands he saluted at Robin. "Oh wow it is you Brook! Oh wowowowie! You look awesome now! So much better then before!" At her side Luffy jumped up letting out an excited laugh while Black*Star grumped that he wasn't the one in the spotlight. "Ah, Brook! Now that you have evolved you can wear that hat Charlie gave to us!" Robin exclaimed as she reached into her bag and pulling out the small hatbox she tossed it out to Brook who some how caught it and with a bit of a flourish he popped it up onto his new afro.

Cranidos and Roark could only watch as the Monferno busted through three of the clones while they were frozen. Just as the monkey pokemon was about to slam his fist into the real Cranidos he managed to get control of his body and roll out of the way. "All right Cranidos now get yourself out of there!" Roark ordered he needed to get his pokemon to regroup a bit plus the longer they manged to stay alive the sooner they could summon another Sandstorm.
Nodding the Cranidos used his momentary movement lept up and using the rocks he managed to dash away. The ancient pokemons claws allowed it to hold onto the floating rocks at any angle. With them floating around they could attack from virtually any angle which was something they would take advantage of. "All right Cranidos let's show them your Stealth Headbutt!" Roark ordered hoping that they could either end this battle quickly or last around enough to unleash there second sandstorm.
Letting out a loud cry the Cranidos launched itself as fast as it could towards the Monferno using the rocks as cover. When he got close the ancient pokemon slowed down a bit before digging his claws into the rock and as stealthy as he could crawled til he was hanging upside down over the Monferno. Without waiting for anything else he loosened his grip on the rock and fell head first towards the fire monkey.

The Wurmple roll/flipped back onto its feet and looked sideways at Ghos. The Gastly stared back at the creature and blinked, wondering if it was going to do anything, when the bug suddenly opened its mouth slightly and spat a bunch of long, sticky string right in the poor ghost’s face. ”Gaas!” Ghos cried out, eyes shut tight, shaking his head back and forth to try and get the string off of his face.
Leon continued to stare almost blankly at the scene and said, ”Will-o-wisp.” Ghos stopped shaking his head and glared at his opponent, sending a few oddly coloured balls of flame at the Bug-type. Seeing as how the two had stayed awfully close and pretty inactive during this little battle, the attack hit dead on caused the Wurmple to stumble backwards and let out a cry in protest. It shook off the attack, and though it was pretty tired at this point, Wurmple ran at Ghos and jumped at him in a Tackle…
…Only to pass right through the Ghost-type and landing right on its face, before squirming to its feet, dazed and confused. Upon which time, the burn left by Ghos’ previous Will-o-wisp attack began to sting and inflicted a small amount of damage on the bug. ”Finish it off with another Lick attack,” Leon commanded blandly. Ghos stuck out his tongue and licked the Wurmple right on its face, knocking the Pokémon over. When the Bug-type didn’t get up, Leon nodded slightly and returned Ghos to his PokéBall. Muuma looked at Leon with a slight pout on her face, to which his eyes brightened ever so slightly and he said with a bit of a ring to his voice, ”Don’t worry. You can get the next one.” and provoking a happy, ”Mis!” from Muuma. No way some new little baby Pokémon was gonna take her spotlight!

“Yeah, that’s him! He’s a tough old guy.” Eraku said thinking about his Uncle. He looked around and saw that the boat was beginning to move a bit faster as they reached open waters. As he looked back at the reporter he noticed Sasha heading back out onto the deck with another girl and boy the two were looking exceptionally well in their bathing suits. Hmmm maybe I should go tell her that her red headed friend isn’t feeling so hot. “Hey if you’ll excuse me one second I just need to go say hi to my friend over there. Roy will be more than happy to answer a few questions for yah. Right Roy?” He said as he slapped his friend on the back. Roy was so entranced by the gorgeous reporter that when he got slapped on the back he fell face first on the deck. “Oh Roy…” Eraku said shaking his head “Well I’ll be back in a minute.” He walked over to where Sasha was and as he did the other girl with her darted off in another direction apparently someone was calling her. He walked over to Sasha, giving her the up and down and then said, “Looking pretty good there Sasha. There’s a reporter over there I’m sure she’d love to interview someone as…charming as you. But I actually meant to tell you. I saw your redheaded friend just a minute ago and he wasn’t looking so hot. The news ladies people took him to a room so he could lay down for a bit. Maybe we should go ask where he is? He looked really sick.”

Between the paralysis, fever and Jensen's influence staying awake was incredibly difficult, and though his body begged for him to close his eyes and rest, Keegan fought with all his willpower to stay awake. The last thing he wanted to do was drift off to sleep again and allow that Rocket b*****d back inside his mind and let him manipulate his dreams again. Despite his best efforts he kept drifting in and out of consciousness, and each time he opened his eyes he was subjected to the Rocket's laughter. Oh screw it, this is too exhausting, the redhead thought, closing his eyes once more. He was too tired and warm not to fall asleep, and the next thing he knew, he was standing upright in the middle a very familiar room. The walls and ceiling were a bright and glossy brass colour, and as he looked around him he could see that he was surrounded by dozens of silver canisters that came up to his mid-thighs. His curiosity piqued, he peered over the edge of the nearest one, raising an eyebrow when he saw that it was over two-thirds full of balls of paper. He picked one up and smoothed it out, frowning at the cartoon drawing of an Electrode sticking its tongue out at him. Unimpressed he crumpled it back up again and threw it back into the bin, looking around for the exit. Even though this place was familiar he didn't feel like hanging around. The paper he'd tossed back in the bin shifted slightly, causing the other wads of paper to move as well. Intrigued, Keegan looked back at the bin as there was a resounding clicking noise, and suddenly there was a flash of light as a previously unnoticed wall of lightning was shut down, granting access towards the back of the room. As soon as the electrical barrier shut down, the silver cans were retracted into the floor, leaving a large, blank open area, and all at once Keegan knew where he was.
"I'm in the Vermilion Gym," he said quietly, undoing his jacket as it felt quite stifling inside the gym. "But what am I doing here?"
"Isn't it obvious?" a cheerful and familiar voice called out. "You're here to win a gym badge, of course!"
Confused, Keegan looked around for the owner of the voice. "But this is the Vermilion City Gym, right? I've already won a Thunder Badge." His gaze fell upon the area where the electrified fence had fell, and he couldn't help but smile when he saw Kasiya standing on the raised platform that her father, Lieutenant Surge, usually stood on when facing challengers.
She was definitely looking like she was the daughter of the former gym leader, with her army fatigue pants and heavy boots. She wore a thick leather belt that held six Pokeballs and a sleeveless jacket over a white tank top. To complete the look she also wore her silver, lightning-shaped pendant and her hair, which was significantly longer than he remembered it being, was pulled back into a ponytail at the nape of her neck. "Maybe so, but you haven't won my Thunder Badge!" she said with a laugh, taking a sphere from her belt and holding it up. "C'mon, Keegan! Let's battle!" ===== Miharu had spent quite a long time on the beach that evening and she and her Pokemon did not return to the Center until well after the sun had gone down. It was only natural that she would sleep in quite late the next morning, as when she finally did open her eyes the time displayed on her PokeNav was after ten. She showered, dressed and got brunch for her and her Pokemon, and when she stepped outside, her gaze turned in the direction of the Cianwood City gym. She and her Pokemon had trained quite a bit yesterday, and now that Starrie had evolved into Starmie, she was quite confident that she could win. Fifth badge, here we come, she thought with a smile as she started the trek towards the gym.
It didn't take very long to find it, as Cianwood was relatively small. There was a sign posted outside marking it as an official Pokemon Gym. "Cianwood City Gym. Leader: Chuck," Miharu read aloud. "His roaring fists do the talking. Sounds... interesting," she murmured, but smiled. Chuck uses fighting type Pokemon, so Starrie and Aska should do quite well. She took a deep breath and pushed the heavy metal doors open and stepped in side, only to stop in her tracks a moment later as she saw that there were people everywhere, most of which didn't look like they belonged in a gym that specialized in fighting type Pokemon. In fact they looked like construction workers, judging by the tool belts and hardhats they were wearing. "Wha... what's going on?"
"Oh, hello there, dear," a kind voice spoke up from nearby, and Miharu glanced over to see a woman with pretty red hair and kind eyes walking towards her, carrying a tray of glasses filled with what looked to be lemonade. "Please excuse the mess, but just the other day my eccentric husband decided to renovate the entire gym." Looking around, Miharu could now see that it was indeed the case. Walls had been gutted if not removed entirely and there were building materials, sheets of drywall and plywood as well as a stack of 2x4s and sawdust everywhere. "When my Chuck gets an idea into that fat head of his, it's impossible to stop him." She nodded in the direction of a rather large, shirtless man who was busy arguing with another man whom Miharu assumed to be the foreman. She sighed, and looked at the debris-ridden ground. It didn't look like she'd be having a match with Chuck today, or any time soon, for that matter.

Quick as the little Pokémon was, Rattata was just landing from the Tail Whip attack as Brock’s Rhyhorn started charging at him, and the purple and white mouse let out a loud squeak as the attack hit. He was quickly back on his feet, however, and shook the attack off. As painful as it had been, the attack was only a normal type and thus was nothing special, especially since the two’s levels were fairly close. In fact, Rattata was probably a higher level, at this point…but anyhow. ”Rattata, use Bite!” Train commanded, and soon Rattata was at his opponent’s side, chomping down on the Rhyhorn’s rock-hard body.+=+=+=+ Soon enough, the pair came across another Wurmple, which Muuma quickly took care of with a Psywave attack. Leon nodded at her and the two kept walking (well, at least, Leon walked, while Muuma floated alongside him). As they headed onwards, Leon stifled a yawn, and it was at that point that it occurred to him that he hadn’t slept since before his mom had dragged him to that stupid party. He made a bit more a of a point now to try and avoid wild Pokémon, but when he came across a wild Zigzagoon, he took no time in pulling out Ghos’ PokéBall and sending the baby Pokémon right out to battle.
”Ghos, use Lick attack,” Leon commanded. Ghos quickly complied, giving the Zigzagoon a nice friendly lick right on the side of the face, knocking the Normal-type back a bit. Unfortunately, that was all it appeared to do, as the Tinyracoon Pokémon appeared to be nothing more than a bit confused as to what had just happened, but otherwise unaffected.

"Okay, good," Kasiya nodded, wishing there was more she could do to help ease Serenity's anxiety. She waited politely for the younger girl to gather her courage, looking back in the direction she'd come from as Serenity finally came around. "No need to worry," she said, making sure to keep Sere nearby as the two began to make their way back towards where Sasha was. I wonder if Mitsu's gonna join us, she thought idly. It would be a little strange, spending time with just her girlfriends, as usually Mike or Keegan or Jaeshan or the other guys she knew were in tow as well. I guess this is a good thing though, she thought, her cheeks turning a bright shade of pink when a tall, hunky, shirtless surfer boy winked at her. Wow, Sasha was right, she thought, giggling sheepishly and giving a little wave as she and Sere continued to make their way back to the pink-haired girl.
=-=-=-=-= Mai could only nod as the boy and his Pidgey went over to speak to the pink-haired Sasha and Kasiya, and she frowned. How does that girl make so many friends? she thought as her younger sister rushed off to do Mew knows what, looking back to the boy currently getting to know the deck on a first-name basis. "There's no need to be shy, Roy," she told him, prodding him with her foot. "Get up, and tell me all about yourself. Where are you from? What kind of Pokemon do you have? What are your plans for Sinnoh?" she asked, preparing a notepad and pen so that she could jot down notes. "The masses want to know! Everyone's always interested to hear things about up and coming trainers!"
=-=-=-=-= It was safe to say that the Ice Shard caught Raichu by surprise even though his Quick Attack was faster, and though the sharp chunk of ice dug into his belly and left a rather nasty, bleeding gouge he continued forward, growling as the brown fuzz ball rolled out of the way. "Keep up the momentum and turn it into a Slam! Don't give him a second to recover!" Surge commanded, having been surprised by the speedy ice attack as well. Raichu let out another growl and used his powerful legs to pivot and turn, the speed built up by the Quick Attack enhancing his movements as he lashed out with his tail for a powerful Slam attack. They weren't about to give in any time soon!
Jaeshan let out a low whistle as he watched Swinub release his Ice Shard, and he grinned. "What an amazing battle, neither Crenu nor Surge is giving even an inch!" He clapped along with Riza's cheering, though he still had no idea how the battle was going to end. He wanted Surge to defend his gym, but he also thought that Crenu was quite deserving of a badge at this point as well. Either way, I can't wait to get to Celadon for my next gym match! he thought, rubbing his hands together eagerly.

Riza continued to stand even as Swinub launched his ice shard, and she let out a cheer when it scored a direct hit. She couldn't believe how feisty that Raichu was even after battling with her Sneasel and Kirlia and she couldn't help but wonder what it would be like if she could train a Pikachu or a Raichu of her very own. The mouse had incredible speed and agility and all its moves would be perfect to use during contest battles and appeals. 'Maybe I should look into it at some point,' she thought, continuing to clap and cheer her friend on. Unlike Jaeshan she very much wanted to see Crenu win this one as she knew how tough his Pokemon were and that he totally deserved this badge. * * * * * Katie watched carefully as the Cranidos jumped up onto one of the floating rocks after avoiding being slammed by Genki's mach punch. The Monferno regrouped, unsure of where his opponent had run off too. The Playful Pokemon let out a screech and slammed a fist against his chest, as though he were daring the rock-type to come out and fight like a real Pokemon. "Genki! Above you!" Katie shouted upon seeing the Cranidos about to launch a headbutt from directly above the fiery monkey. The Monferno looked up when his trainer called out to him, and sure enough the Cranidos was plummeting toward him. "Get out of the way and give him a taste of your special move!"
Nodding the Monferno tried to jump back but there just wasn't enough time, and he was subjected to a strong hit from the Cranidos' rocky head. He didn't let it bother him even though it had hurt a lot and he reared back his fist as it crackled with electricity and thrust it forward, ready to land a solid hit of his own with his thunderpunch.

"But I thought that you didn't want to be a gym leader," Keegan retorted in mild protest. He wasn't really up for battling at the moment, even if it was a gym battle. He wasn't questioning the girl's logic about needing to win her badge, as it seemed perfectly normal. "You told me that it would be too restricting and that you didn't want to be tethered to a gym."
The blonde just smiled, and shook her head. "I remember. I'm not doing it for me, I'm doing it for my father. This gym has always been so important to him. Besides, who else would run this place? Sometimes you've just gotta grow up and be responsible. The whole world doesn't revolve around you, you know," she said, finishing with a flourish before tossing out her Pokeball. "Now send out your first Pokemon! I'm not going easy on you, either!" she shouted as her baby Charmander materialized in front of her.
Keegan bit his lower lip as her words stung him a little. It was like she was talking about him, and not herself. Pushing it out of his mind he eyed the tiny fire lizard now facing him. He knew Kasiya wouldn't give up until she got what she wanted. "You call this not going easy?" he laughed. "And besides, isn't this gym supposed to specialize in electric types?" He took a Pokeball from his own belt and threw it, releasing Helios. The Ninetales shook himself a bit, his tails waving around behind him like banners. He eyed the itty-bitty Charmander and snorted, clearly unimpressed with his miniscule opponent.
"It's my gym now," Kasiya shot back, completely offended by the statement. "And in my gym, I make the rules, got it? Electric types are still our specialty, but we're implementing the use of other Pokemon as well. If you don't like it, then too bad! I'm tired of being underestimated! Either battle me, or get out of my gym!" she shouted, stomping her foot angrily. The Charmander stamped her foot along with her trainer, the flame on her tail flaring up brightly.
"Alright fine, you don't have to yell," Keegan grumbled, wiping his forehead with the back of his hand. He idly wondered why it was so warm in the gym, but looking across the floor over at Kasiya, she looked as though she felt just fine. Must be some kind of tactic to try and wear down challengers, he thought, sighing heavily before looking to Helios. "Alright, you want a fight? You've got one! Helios, Quick Attack! Hold nothing back!"
Snarling fiercely, the Ninetales raced forward, a streak of white light trailing behind him, eyes narrowing into slits as he neared the fire lizard. Keegan didn't want to hurt little Nova, but at this point, Kasiya had left him little choice.

Tch, not even a second to spare with this guy. Honestly I'm starting to get annoyed at their vigor. "Forget about attacking Swinub, focus everything on getting away now, stay calm and try to relax." The important thing now was to remain calm no matter what. Getting riled up at such a tense moment in battle was suicide and Crenu would not fall to pressure of battle. Swinub didn't have to be told twice, Raichu was already speeding towards him but he put his back into it as he kicked off the ground hard and tried to sprint away from Raichu. He could feel the pressure from behind him, he knew Raichu was right there but there was no time to panic as he gave one final leap for salvation. Luckily Slam wasn't the most accurate move out there, and though it wasn't bad either Swinub was just thankful that he'd managed to get some of the dark mud in the Mouse Pokemon's eyes otherwise he may not have been so lucky. He quickly turned on the spot to look at Raichu, half expecting him to already be bounding towards him with another attack. Crenu sighed as he watched Swinub get away by the skin of his teeth, dodging was the closes thing to rest Surge was letting them get right now and it would have to do. Going on the defensive was a little easier on the body but Swinub wasn't going to be able to keep it up much longer. Crenu had hoped that Raichu would be running out of steam after being constantly on the offensive with big power moves like Slam and Mega Punch, but it didn't appear to be happening fast enough. The damn electric mouse was way to determined to win this one to go out to fatigue it seemed. It looked like it was starting to turn into an endurance battle to see who would tire out first, and that's not something Crenu wanted to be a part of. "...Heh, It's been entertaining to say the least Surge, but I'm sure that neither of us have all day. What do you say we end this with the next round? Put our all into one last attack and let the cards fall as they may, you see to me absolute power has always been the most important factor in any battle and without it victory cannot be obtained. To be honest, I don't think your Raichu has it in 'em anymore to finish of Swinub for good. Heh, then again, I'm not sure Swinub does either. But what's life without a little risk?" Crenu smirked confidently, but deep down he knew this was a real gamble. This was either going to work or it wasn't, if Swinub wasn't able to defeat Raichu's power here then he was going to go down like a ton of bricks.

Now that he had his hat Brook was ready to do battle with this huge charging bull. Grinning he pointed a puffball hand at the bull and waving it around once shooting a barrage of seeds at the Tauros. The bull did its best to dodge the seeds but one of them managed to hit and the moment it touched the other pokemon vines erupted from it covering the angry pokemon. It didn't do any damage right away but the vines really seemed to piss off the powerful pokemon off.
"Tauros let's show them your Rage!" John knew that his pokemon couldn't be to happy to now be wrapped up so tightly in those vines. Maybe he would thrash around in anger that they would come off? The Leech Seed wasn't doing much now but eventually it would start to cause problems for him. John was right to Tauros really did not like the vines on it and he might have just raged anyway. Snorting the bull bucked wildly before locking his eyes on the tiny blue and white top-hatted sphere. The target of his rage now locked on Tauros charged his horns and hooves flashing as it slammed right into Brook.
"Come on Brook ride him like a cowboy!" Robin cheered from the side as Brook got slammed into. The small Jumpluff was dazed for a moment before he managed to orient himself again and doing what Robin requested he reached out with a puffball hand just in time to grab onto the other pokemons mane and braced himself on the vines. "Yeehaw! Ride him Brook!" Robin laughed as she mimicked using a lasso.
"Buck that puffball off Tauros!" John called laughing to himself a little. There was just something about Robin's enthusiastic that was very contagious. It also helped that she looked really good acting like a cowgirl in her skimpy little outfit.
~~~~~~~
Of course there were repercussions to their stealth headbutt and the moment they hit the ground his peralyzation came back and so he was stuck hard on the ground and could offer little to no resistance to the oncoming Thunderpunch. The ancient pokemon gave a loud cry as he was slammed back. Doing his best to recover from the attack the Cranidos picked himself up and stumbled around a bit before he fell down to the ground knocked out for the count.
"Wow you certainly gave a great fight. I haven't had as good of a challenge as that in a long time." Roark congratulated as he recalled his fallen pokemon. The floating rocks fell to the ground now that the battle was over with some loud thunks. Grinning he headed over to the younger girl he pulled out a bag containing her winnings and held it out to her on it was pinned his gyms Coal badge. "You did a great job and you should be proud of yourself and your pokemon."
