{Bobbi .:. Louis's Heart .:. Tower of Traitor}

"I never denied I was a hypocrite," Bobbi retorted to Kuro pulling the pot/kettle line on her. She sounded more like her usual, chipper self, and the briefest hint of a smile crossed her lips. However, the cheer was short lived, and her smile faded back into her somber frown as James continued to speak, reiterating the need for teamwork.

"That’s why I’m waiting."

((OoC: The underlined is literally the only important part of this post, but I figured I should make it now rather than later))

[[Traitor's Tower]]

Innocence, as he listened to Bobbi proclaim her willingness to kill Traitor looked onward with a increasingly despaired expression. His eyes, already tear ridden, grew bloodshot and devoid of hope. At last as she asked him his opinion, he merely stared at her, through her. Slowly but surely he shifted first closing his eyes and furrowing his eyebrows before any looking onward might have seen his shoulders shake up and down as though crying... or laughing, one couldn't really tell based on sight alone.

[ Sayrike & Sora : Louis' Heart : Prisoner's Purgatory ]

With the world suddenly shifting around them, Sora slowed his walked--and just in time, as the desk suddenly gave way ahead of him, crashing into a smog of dust that he tried to wave away with his hand. The book fell, as did the record player, but the shift only seemed to give a sudden burst of moving images in the flapping pages and a loud, shouting conversation evoked from the player.

The Keyblade Master stood back, his eyes narrowed in disbelief, before looking over to Prisoner and the others.

"I don't even think he'd remember; he seems completely one-dimensional," Sayrike said with a mildly disappointed sigh. Everything about the scene was trying to funnel them into one direction. Really? She resisted scoffing, instead Scanning the seal.

Luckily, the others spoke up before Sora did, his knuckles white around the hilt of his blade in growing frustration. He looked to the panicking boy, his chest and the mark upon it made bare.

A mark of darkness...

[ Riku : Louis' Heart : Traitor's Test ]

The sudden loss of light and addition of screams was enough to put anyone on edge, Riku included, but he simply remained tense, his blade the ready in a flash of light (more out of instinct than consideration); rather than jump at the voices and their locations, he felt out around him, and could felt no motion, no brush of wind or heat of presence. Once again, illusion, illusion--and once again, preaching as if he were trying to impart some grand mote of wisdom.

In the shadows, Riku rolled his eyes so hard he worried they'd strain the nerves inside. When the images played out, he paid more attention, but the same thoughts gnawed at the back of his consciousness. And then, when the final stage was set, and Traitor made his ultimatum, Riku simply shook his head. What was this guy thinking? Innocence?

Hi, I'm Riku. Innocence lost years ago. Hey, these are the Earthlings. They killed plenty of soldiers in the battle of Hawaii. This isn't anyone's first blood.

Maybe it was just some attempt at literal symbolism, with Bobbi's shard dangling before them on an odd symbol he'd seen in Notre Dame. It was religious, if he recalled.

Bobbi stepped up, immediately drawing her bow and making a grand statement, and before Riku could finish bringing his palm to his forehead, James was correcting her, and she replied. Oh, good, there was some coherence going on. Meanwhile, Innocence reacted, but Riku could only look at the strange magic mark of darkness.

He shook his head again, walking over to Bobbi to place his hand on the knocked arrow and forcefully, but slowly, pull the bow down.

"You're not asking the right questions," he said, locking gazes with her momentarily before looking back at the shards. "This is a corrupted shard, much like yours once was. He tells you to choose your fate, and then provides the single option of murder--and your immediate instinct is to agree?"

"Look at that mark," Riku said, even going to far as to point directly at Traitor's strange emblem. "Look at that corruption--he's implying its his weakest point. You're asking if it's okay to kill him? Why not ask yourself instead how you saved the first one?"

[ Kyle ; Jenny : Louis' Heart : Victim's Vault ]

Kyle was momentarily flustered as the pain suddenly vanished, the scar reappearing back on Victim. No, it wouldn't be that easy, of course, Nothing ever was.

Instead, he listened, taking in the boy's words, listening briefly to the television but never looking at it. He didn't need to see the violence; he needed to analyze this shard. To figure out how to fix it, how to cleanse it like they'd done with Justice, or Esteem, or Innocence--

"There is one other way..."

His eyes narrowed momentarily in questioning as the boy pulled the his shirt back, but his face grew ecstatic on seeing the magic seal. Of course! There was the access point, the root of it all.

"Choose your fate. You know what you have to do..."

Kyle was grinning ear to ear, already closing his eyes and trying to focus, shifting his right hand to his left wrist. Yes, he knew exactly what he had to do!

"... Kill me."

Kyle stopped suddenly, his face recoiling and his attention snapping away from his re-sync before he could finish, and he looked down at the boy as if to question his sanity. When nothing else followed, he couldn't help but snort, smirking as he went back to focusing.

"That's the problem with darkness, isn't it," he said, breathing deeply for a moment as the energies within him altered themselves. His right hand pulled off his Trinity Charm bracelet and, on opening his eyes, he began to sift through the charms, stopping with a soft smile as he found the newly-added æthecite stone.

"It's an obscuring veil. You only ever see two paths--your way, or failure," he continued, and he felt the magic flicker along just underneath his skin, a tightness forming in his chest. "But beyond the veil, there's always more."

"Guys, pull out those æthecite charms and bring'em over," he said, and Jenny behind him began to dig around for hers. "And you, Victim, tell me--" he started, looking down at the young man with a reassuring smile, an odd green flicker in his eyes.

"Have you ever wanted a friend?"

[ ??? : Traitor's Test ; Nightmare's Nightmare ; Prisoner's Purgatory ]

"That's the problem with darkness, isn't it."

The echoes came from a distance, somewhere deep in Traitor's abyss, or far beyond the walls of Nightmare, or deep within the confines of Prisoner's library. They could hear them just faintly, just... barely. It sounded... maybe like Kyle? But distorted somehow, as if passing through the wind itself.

"It's an obscuring veil. You only ever see two paths--your way, or failure."

It felt like an odd chill running along their arms, raising the hair along their flesh. Those that were outwardly wearing their charms would have felt as if one of the pieces had been flicked--but there was nothing there.

"But beyond the veil, there's always more."

[[Nightmare's Tower]]

The boy was catatonic at first. Unresponsive, but as Kyla's light bled out into the surroundings and Joe slammed his foot against his sanctuary his expression stirred. There was a flicker... his eyes glancing around up, then down... a hopeless sigh sinking him deeper into his nightmare. The floor writhed and the needles bent, twisted, and shifted into impossible shifted and vaulted clippings of reality.

Then... a hand. For a moment someone grabbed his arm. He stared at it as someone tried to pull him away. Someone was there, someone was really there... and they were... helping him?

"That's the problem with darkness, isn't it."

Matthew vanished, and Nightmare was left alone again, but his eyes, wide open and awake now looked at- not through Joe. He looked around as light poured out of every crevice. He looked up at Kyla who floated above.

Nightmare turned his gaze around behind him, his expression angry. Joe's words echoed violently in his head. He lifted a hand, then... closed his eyes. A deep breath, a bitten lip, then a whisper, "You're not real."

Then the world blew away. Like a sandcastle caught in a tornado expanding from the center of the room, everything turned to sparkling dust. Then there they stood upon an endless sky as shooting stars converged again on their position. The streaming lights collided beneath their feet, igniting as a small sun. Then around that sun as they careened towards it, chunks of stone and glass fell into place like autonomous puzzle pieces.

"It's an obscuring veil. You only ever see two paths--your way, or failure."

At last an image formed out of the chaos and solidified in a flash, a halo of light erupting as a shock wave when the platform of awakening became visible. It was an image of Louis, sleeping but his expression pained, a circle of black thorns acted as a pillow while chains and insectoid bodies spread out to the edges in a radial pattern.

They each came to a stop, gently placing them on the surface of the platform.

There, Nightmare greeted them again, this time holding out a small black stone, coils of darkness spindling around small rock while he smiled meekly, "You broke through the nightmare, but more will follow. This... is my core. If this is destroyed, I- this part of me will die and you will be free of this place... but maybe, just maybe... there's hope. If there really is an escape to these nightmares, a way out of this endless circle of torment, please... wake me from this eternal slumber."

"But beyond the veil, there's always more."

[Kyla: Louis Heart: Nightmare Tower]

The artist practically held her breath watching for any response from the corrupted shard within. Any sign of life… or change… the floor became sharp, needles, his face contorted- was he angry they were not granting his plea for death?

Then- wait who- Mathew?? The man was suddenly there, and then not- she felt the resistance against her shield, but it was over before she could make heads or tails- and he was suddenly behind her again. Dangit!
Something echoed in her head then. Was it a thought of hers? Was Carbuncle trying to say something? Like a faint breeze. She felt a weird chill-
But whatever Matthew did.. it worked- nightmare seemed to respond, and he turned his awareness onto his own fabrication.

-Kyla had just looked down to her charm when when Loui’s shard said the words…

You’re not Real.

And the world shattered- blowing away, leaving them standing in an endless expanse. Kyla remembered to breath- as stars flew past her.
"It's an obscuring veil. You only ever see two paths--your way, or failure."

When they finally descended onto the platform of awakening, a very familiar setting, Kyla stared down at the pained image of the tormented soul they resided in, biting her lower lip. She looked up and there Nightmare stood, holding out something corrupted. His core he said?

Kyla dropped down onto the surface, her feet making an empty tap as she walked the distance closer towards him, till she stood across from Joe. She regarded the core and looked to their leader.

“I think we'r eon the right track here-… like the other shards- why don’t we purify it? Use our light to purge the darkness corrupting it. Make this fragment into something new.” She had been trying to do something similar with her shield, maybe she could do it again only more precise?

If nightmare was what he was corrupted- it was very possible his true form was 'dreams'- as Mathew had said before. An essntial part of any individual. Somethign worth redeaming.

“ -mmm, guess now is a great item to think of a basic purification spell...grr...what I'd do for a key that just did that..restoring something to it's original shape using light.”
She began flipping through her pages to a fresh one, then began sketching an abstract concept for purification, specifically designating a target- their light, or connection to the cornerstone- or whatever source of light they were bound to, being who they were- and the specific purpose of isolating what was within something.

“We’re going to have to work together on this though right? Maybe if we combine our light?” she looked back towards Mathew, checking to see if he was alright. If the young man was still shuddering Kyla would go get him.

[ Melisandre : Louis' Heart : Core of the Cornerstones ]

[[ Well I've been sitting on this since your last post, but since Zellmyx hasn't had anything to add... ]]

As the small boy (at least, from her point of view; they were all fairly small children, really) explained the situation, the sorceress listened in amused curiosity. The amusement, however, slowly faded to confusion, then finally rested on disbelief.

"Either you're lying," she finally said, her gaze accusatory, but as if in a light-hearted manner; "or this fool boy is even stupider than I thought."

"Are you trying to tell me that a--I suppose he would be an adult in your race?--a full-grown, no longer adolescent man decided to mess with forces beyond his comprehension or control," she started, talking slow, making sure to get everything out clearly--as if there was some concern Nemesis wouldn't understand her. "And when other forces beyond his comprehension or control interfered, his plan to protect himself was to run far, far away from the sea--a smart move, if the original force did in fact have dominion over the seas--and then mess with more forces beyond his comprehension or control? For entirely superfluous reasons, seeing as we are no longer near any sort of sea?"

"This is a jest. Surely, surely you're telling a humorous tall-tale--that can't have actually happened, have actually been considered a decent plan. Right?" She looked to Demyx at first. Then she looked to Zell. "Right?"
PostPosted: Tue Dec 08, 2015 6:49 pm

{Demyx, Zell .:. Louis's Heart .:. Cornerstone of Death}

When Melisandre looked to him for confirmation that Nemesis’ explanation of the situation was a joke, Demyx shrugged, but didn’t say anything.

"No, that about sums it up," Zell said, scratching at the back of his head and not quite meeting the giantess’s eyes. "If it helps, though, pretty sure Louis has gone off the deep end. Like, he wasn’t exactly sane when he started this. Something about being the host of Mateus, I think? Dem, did you understand what they were saying about this guy back at Disney?"

"Kiiiiind of? Kyle said something about magic affecting his mind, but he never really went into detail. Oh, and Mateus can possess him. I bet that’s really unhealthy for the psyche."

{Red XIII, Yuffie .:. Louis's Heart .:. Tower of Victim}

When the boy stroked his muzzle and with the gesture healed old wounds, Nanaki snorted and immediately moved out of arm’s reach of the boy. He glanced around at the others to see their reactions, noting Yuffie’s slight pallor and wide eyes, and Kyle’s attempts to take the boy’s wounds unto himself. As the boy continued to speak, Yuffie’s hands crept up to her mouth, and she looked near tears.

"That’s… that’s horrible," she said in hushed tones. When the boy issued the ultimatum, for the briefest moment Yuffie stared at the boy in disbelief. Then, she brought her hands back down to her sides, clenched into fists, and stomped petulantly. "What part of 'we’re here to help' is so hard to understand?"

Both ninja and beast looked to Kyle when he started talking, and when he requested their charms, Yuffie hastily removed hers before she bent down to help poor, thumb-less Nanaki take his off. With a hopeful smile on her face Yuffie handed the charms to Kyle without a word before stepping back, giving him room to do whatever he was about to do.

{Bobbi .:. Louis's Heart .:. Tower of Traitor}

Riku’s hand on hers was surprisingly hot, almost scorching, but she didn’t flinch as he pushed her weapon down. In fact, she went a step further, and let her arrow dissipate back to wherever she pulled them from.

"I didn’t," she said calmly. The calm was a ruse, however. Hear heart was pounding and she was sifting through her memories, thinking back to the face-off against her shard in her heart. As she pieced the memories together, she grew hopeful, her eyes widening and the first genuine smile in what felt like forever blooming across her face. "Kyle did. By flooding it with light! Riku, I could kiss you if you weren’t like a billion years younger than me!" For the briefest moment, Bobbi was excited. An option, a solution that didn’t leave the Archer feeling riddled with guilt was finally there, but she had no command over Light, and as far as she knew, no one in her group did, either. Slowly the excitement drained out of her face, and she grew thoughtful, trying to think of how to implement the solution that actually let them save Louis.

"That's the problem with darkness, isn't it."
"It's an obscuring veil. You only ever see two paths--your way, or failure."
"But beyond the veil, there's always more."

Barely on the edges of her awareness, she heard Kyle’s voice. She wasn’t sure if it was memory, her imagination, or what, but she was glad to hear it. She focused on his voice, and she thought she felt someone flick the æthicite charm she’d connected to her necklace, felt the movement against her breastbone. Briefly, she touched the charm with the tips of her fingers, her brows creasing as she retreated further into thought.

"I can’t use Light," she said slowly, taking the æthicite between her fingers and fiddling with it. "What about the rest of you?"

[ Amy : Narnia / Louis's Heart : Tower of Nightmare ]

"I have diaga," Amy offered. "It's light magic, and only effects darkness. In theory, if there's some good inside this core, it would cleanse the darkness not harm the good. Can you use that, Kyla? Like, amplify it somehow?"
PostPosted: Wed Dec 09, 2015 12:06 pm

[Joseph: Louis' Heart: Nightmare Tower]

The monk was actually kind of impressed with the...well, it didn't seem to really be the clearest of images on his side of the lotus, but he caught bits and pieces.

He probably would've stayed impressed had he not been suddenly falling, when Nightmare seemed to stand up to his fear.

Honestly, he was getting tired of falling, forcing himself upright with his wind as he fell. Impressive as the scenery was, he was also still angry and tired. He might reflect on it later, but right now, his face showed frustration more than awe.

The shard asked them to wake him up. And Joe, in a moment of...perhaps not the best 'clarity', took in a deep breath, his wind magic ready to increase the volume of his voice as he prepared to yell the shard awake like one might do a sleeping person.

Kyla spoke, and Joe stopped his 'plan', coughing as he choked on the air, the magic fading. Apparently there was a better, more likely plan in the head of the pictomancer. Amy also piped up, and Joe thought for a moment. Technically, he had helped purify one shard before. Though that was with Noelle and Ultima. He didn't have anything Light on him. He had an attack, but it was more physical in nature, not magic. And punching the 'soul' didn't seem like the best option. So he tried to think of anything else he might have that was Light, bouncing slightly as he kept shifting his weight around.

The tinkle of his charms caught his ear, and he looked down at the charms hanging off of his belt. The charm that connected him to everyone, and the little aethesite shard of light. Light.

He thought for a moment, then finally spoke up. "Why don't we...mm." He paused, as if not sure about saying what he was going to say. "We could try...if it's even possible, I mean. Why not try channeling your diaga, Amy? Into something of Kyla's to kind of softly shine the light and cleanse it...and me, John, and Mathy could all try doing something with our little shard charm things." He reached down, unhooking his little crystal and dangling it in front of himself.

"These are Light, right? Like the cornerstone? So if we all use these, and make a super strong but super soft light...anyone else willing to try? Or think we should try something else? Cause I'm realizing I just described my idea like one would describe really good toilet paper."

[Kyla: Louis Heart: Nightmare tower>surface of Awakening]

The artist made a humming sound as she thought more about this, Joe had a point, Amy’s spell could help a lot- and even she had a more elevated level of light magic now as opposed to all her original low grade elements. But...that wasn’t exactly the root of what needed to be accomplished here.
“I think that could work, though in truth… I don’t think we’re merely channeling magical light attacks per say...but rather- the light within ourselves. We talked about it back at the castle right?... we carry the light of the cornerstone in a sense with us. In some shape or form,” the girl nods to the charm Joe held up in front of him, “ -even if our spells or attacks take other elemental shapes, we are connected to the light from within- And through those… “the artist regards their charms for a moment.

“You’re right Joe, this is a fragment, a piece of light manifest... let use that connection to draw more out of ourselves. Kinda like a Foci. I’m not saying we shouldn’t combine our magical spells as well- this is more of a form for our focus to take. While in fact, technically, we can all do this in our own way.“ Meeting Amy’s gaze she nods-
“- let’s do it. I think I know what spell I can use to focus our concentration.”
Taking her quill, she literally ‘lifted’ a ghostly copy of what she just drew, turned to a new page- placed it beside, something else which looked remarkably like the spell she used battles ago to channel peoples elements and powers from one target caster to another.

“…like I said... from isn’t as important as the mind and meaning behind it in this case. Whether or not we have light spells or attacks, we all have ‘light’ inside us.”

Like what esteem said before…

-“Keep going! Defeat this nightmare and show it just how bright your light is!"

-We want... to combine what light we can draw from within ourselves, using the charms or our spells-“ she smiled at Joe- “In all its cleansing, light an’ softy- strength… and channel it into the core… purifying it.”
After a few more adjustments… her pictorial illustration combined the concept glyphs of taking spells, or channeled energy, magic… -light, and binding them together for the purpose of purification. This wasn’t a new spell, but rather something they could all do. She encircled a figure, and the doodle of the core- as the target.

“-Alright… I think that should do it. Whenever you’re all ready. Just focus on bringing forth the light from within you, I dunno..Positive thinking.. good thoughts or intensions.. what is it that you ‘want’ to happen ideally.. cut away the darkness from what could be salvaged within right? I don’t know, you come up with your own interpretation, what matters is the will behind it. Lets put our money where our mouths are.. and be the lights champions..er..heroes….chosen..-whatever.”

A wave of embarassment swept over her. There went again rambling like she was some know it all. She could be 100% completely WRONG.
She went progressively pink in the face, thinking that sounded a little too pig headed- but damn it they were here for a REASON yes? Time to own up to it.
she blushed a deep crimson and stuck her nose into her book mummbling..

"...we can do it...I just feel it... together."

{James : Louis’ Heart : Tower of Traitor}

James nodded his head in understanding to Mizu’s statement and watched as Riku approached her and slowly her bow lowered and she even dismissed her arrow. He listened to the keyblade master’s words, focused on them as he pointed out the seal, pointed out the corruption and the corsair’s right hand slowly raised to his chest to rest upon the burn scar of Ajora’s seal. It wasn’t exactly the same, but the circumstances were definitely similar. Shortly before they had returned to Disney, Kyle had purged the residual darkness from him. Mizu then confirmed that it was Kyle who had purified her shard with light.

"That's the problem with darkness, isn't it."
"It's an obscuring veil. You only ever see two paths--your way, or failure."
"But beyond the veil, there's always more."

He looked around as he swore he heard the voice of Kyle on the wind and with it a slight hint of movement from the æthicite stone as if it had someone had flicked it where it rested, attached to his necklace. The small shard of crystalized light that Yen Sid had given them at the parade. His right hand raised from his chest to the stone, just as Mizu’s was. His free hand reached to card box at his hip and pulled out the Light Card.

”I can, Either with the Purifying Helix or my Holy Grenado. However, I’m not sure if my strength alone is enough,” He stated before turning his gaze to Riku, his right hand holding the heart shaped crystal. ”If I were to draw on the power of everyone’s æthicite charms do you think that would be enough?”

{Leon : Louis’ Heart : Tower of Victim}

The gunblader remained silent as he focused on Victim, listening to the boy’s words. He tried to understand it all, what the purpose of it was, why the boy took their scars away from them. Listened as the tower was explained, unsure what to do. As the boy lifted his shirt though he saw the seal and it seemed that Kyle seemed to come to understand, asking for their shards that Yen Sid had given them. It only took a moment for the young man to unclip the small charm from his belt and handed it to Kyle, curious to see what the Dragoon had in mind, though he had a pretty good idea.

{Auron : Louis’ Heart : Tower of Prisoner}

Auron remained silent, scanning the room as things grew darker and changed drastically. His muscles tensed, ready to strike at anything that came their way. The table’s leg gave way causing the book and the record playing to fall to the floor and the screaming and conversations that ensued because the book had fallen open. The boy was terrified senseless and then all of a sudden smiled, seemingly hopeful as he pulled down his shirt to expose what appeared to be a spell circle and asked them to kill him. The unsent samurai stared at the boy for a moment, unsure what the best course of action was, spell circles or seals like the one upon the boy’s chest were often able to be broken through other means than the host’s death. He looked around at his group, remembering their powers. None of them seemed like they would be able to do much on their own aside from Sora.

”Sora, do you think you could break that spell circle?” He asked, fairly certain it was their only other away aside from killing the shard.

[ Matthew : Louis' Heart : Nightmare's Nightmare? ]

As he tried to calm down his spiking anxiety, the ground suddenly gave way, causing him to yelp as they fell once more--this time, toward a station. He could see the bugs there, but they weren't physically present, and the absence of the giant one was already starting to calm him down.

Then a whisper from what sounded like Kyle blew past him, causing him to spin about mid-fall in confusion.

As they landed and Nightmare seemed... well, a lot more personable, Matthew pondered on everything that had happened. They each faced their nightmares, and Nightmare was trapped in his own. They helped him realize it, and...

Hmm... Also I think foci is plural.

The others were talking out a plan, and it seemed like things were coming together. He was a bit worn, so he didn't plan on using Clarity unless it became an issue, but he looked at the odd object Nightmare held out to them all the same. Kyla spoke up again after Joe, and the blue mage pulled up his charms, finding the small æthecite stone dangling. Even now, it gave a very soft, barely noticeable sense of warmth.

"Maybe like what Tifa did combined with what we did in Atlantica, Jojo?" he asked, looking to the leader, his face hidden behind the coy Shy Guy mask. "Tifa pulled the whole 'you can have my light,' which was probably maybe calling on heart magic? And then in Atlantica we got that team limit to work by linking our magic through the charms, since they connect each of us..."

He narrowed his eyes in concentration. Happy thoughts, then? Did no more bugs count as happy thoughts? No, happiness... seeing his mother. Being with Joe and Kyle. Helping people. Not being alone--finding them to begin with.

Hope.

The æthecite stone sparkled more brilliantly than before--not so much that it was obvious, but as if it had its own soft glow rather than simply refracting the light around them.

As he stared into the glow, transfixed, it was like his mind unconsciously reeled back to a different memory, of the scene at the Cornerstone, with the bursting beams of light, and the odd sensation in his chest that followed. It had been similar, though weaker, to the sensation he'd felt when he'd taken on the Dress Sphere, or accepted the scimitar...

Without warning, a thin beam of light shined out from his stone to Kyla's charms, and Kyla would have felt Matthew's magic pass harmlessly through the connection between their charms and fill up a spot on her page; it appeared like a clearly drawn, tiny crystal shaded with a soft, lively blue--but with a spark of white at the center. It was ready for use.

[[ Matthew unlocked Light Ray*! ]]

[ Kyle ; Jenny : Louis' Heart : Victim's Vault ]

Kyle smiled, a spark in his eyes as the stones were all offered, their combined soft warmth tingling against his flesh as he held them in his cupped hands. The magic within him continued to churn, continued to build.

"Now, these charms are each connected to you. So, focusing on them, and with the intent to heal, channel positive emotion--the most powerful positive emotion you've felt, happiness, love, compassion, the desire to help, whatever it is that fuels you to live and continue," he said, doing the same thing even as he spoke. Now, the magic he'd compiled was slowly seeping down his arms, the angular circuits clearly visible like a slow wave of light from his shoulders to his gloved hands.

The stones' natural brilliance seemed to increase slightly as they channeled their thoughts, their emotions, into the stones. Kyle was doing the same. He thought of Damian, the friend who'd been there with him through everything, who even as they separated could pick up the phone as if not a day or mile had passed. He thought of his time with his mother and their mutual support of one another. He thought about Josh, of hanging out with him, of their games and their talks.

He thought of them, all of them and more, and immediately felt sorrow, felt anger... but more than that, he felt resilience. Determination. An unwavering resolve; they had brought him here, to this land of magic and hope and darkness, and they had given him the inner strength to not simply survive, but to aid both the people of this world and the people of his own.

He thought of them, and then he thought of the parade. And in his mind's eye, rather than Yen Sid and the others on that podium, he saw his loved ones.

The magic surged, his eyes gleaming, reflecting the glowing light of the stones. The others were doing the same**--he could feel their heat, their warmth, their hope, their courage, and though he could not discern such things precisely, he knew the warmth that grew and grew in his palms was born from those things.

He looked over the Victim and smiled, his brown eyes flickering with sparks of violet and gold. "I hope the answer was yes, but whatever the case--friends or acquaintances--we're not leaving until you're better. So here goes."

He held his cupped hands over the dark magic, rolled his shoulders momentarily, and then quickly flipped the hands to press them against the center of the mark. Simultaneously, he unleashed the warmest coalescence of magic he could gather, channeling them through the stones and hoping to amplify their soothing, cleansing light manifold.

With his unleashed mana, combined with the unification of each of their lights, their hearts, all channeling together, the magic cycling and cycling around and around them and into the corruption, then maybe, hopefully--

[ Riku : Louis' Heart : Traitor's Test ]

Bobbi's reaction was exactly what he was hoping for: not simply the revelation that other options were possible, but that a third option specifically existed. Riku gave her a smile of reassurance, only to be distracted by the sudden sound of whispers in the distance.

He looked around, confusion written on his features. Kyle wasn't here. What was that?

The young master shook his head, looking down at the charm bracelet he wore. Whatever it was, it had been suspiciously well-timed; he wouldn't say no to a gift of possible advice, though he'd certainly ask the young man what the heck that was all about.

When Bobbi mentioned her doubt, and James brought up his own options, Riku sat in momentary silence, thinking, taking off his charms and studying the lit stone. "This kind of magic isn't like a spell; none of us know any specifically crafted cleansing-corruption spell that I know of. But this corruption..."

He turned to look at Traitor's chest, at Innocence's.

"I don't think we need to focus on specific spells, certainly not attacks if we can avoid them. We're not aiming to damage haphazardly. No, what we need," he began, bringing the æthecite stone up to meet his gaze; it seemed to glimmer just slightly just from a growing emotion he felt in his chest. "is raw magic. A deeper magic than basic spellcraft. This is heart corruption; we need heart magic."

"Bobbi, you asked what Sora would do? He'd hope. He'd hope and he'd inspire and he'd think of all those happy thoughts that come so naturally to him, and somehow that would just... work. He's contagious like that," he said, smiling. "We might not have that unnatural contagiousness, but we do have those feelings, and we do have our own form of contagiousness. These stones are connected to us, and the charms connect each of us to one another."

He tightened his grip on the Way to the Dawn, its weight comforting him.

"James, I'm not sure what your Helix spell is, but if it's Light and you say it's purifying, then start to channel it, but only with compassion--keep out any thoughts of righteousness, or anything that's not comforting and soothing," he said, nodding toward the corsair. "I'll do the same with the Keyblade, channeling the Light into the seal at the same time, unless you're not sure the Helix will be soft enough."

"Everyone else--think like Sora. Think those happy thoughts, dig as deep as you can," he said, turning to the others with a small smile. "Find the spark that makes your heart shine through the darkness, the light that never goes out--and channel it through your æthecite, then push it through the charms to James and I. We share our light, and we tear off the veil together."

"And Nick," Riku said, turning to the other man who had been silent since his return (though he had, the young man noticed, momentarily glared at Bobbi when she offered to take the shard's life). He searched the taller man's gaze, trying--hoping--to find some measure of companionship with him. "I don't fully know your reasons for being here. I don't even know if you want to help, or just got dragged along. But if you do want to help Louis, not just kill him, then... we would be happy to have accept. You may not have a charm set, but they're not necessary to share your light if you're open to letting it out."

Without realizing it, his own stone had started to glow slightly in the time that he spoke to them, fueled by what he felt; simultaneously, the Keyblade's tip seemed to flicker with a glowing pinpoint of white light.

"So, are we all clear?" he asked, looking around.

[[ *- Mathy's unlock is not specifically being used in the post, or being transmitted to Kyla for use. It's just his Light-based unlock since the Cornerstone incident that gave everyone a minor Light affinity.

**- Rather than wasting time forcing everyone to post happy thoughts, I just went ahead and assumed they did so--but please, still post what would have gone through their minds! Unless they would have objected, then I can edit.

And the reason I'm not speeding Riku's along as well is just in case Dawn or Dani find time to post, or if Nicholas chimes in >_>;; ]]

[Joseph: Louis' Heart: Nightmare Tower]

The leader nodded towards Kyla, then stared at Mathy when he spoke. He slowly nodded. Mainly cause he didn't...exactly remember that bit of Atlantica. Then again it was fairly hectic. But he didn't doubt Mathy, especially after adding the light to Kyla's spell.

So he held his charm in his cupped hands, and tried to bring out the light from the crystal, focusing on the warmth it seemed to generate in his heart. And he thought, and he wished, and he hoped.

It began it's own soft glow before it, too, passed magic through the connection like Mathy's, a shining ray of white light into Kyla's charm, causing another small heart to appear, this one colored a soft green also with a small bit of white at the center. His magic was ready for use.

[ Amy : Narnia / Louis's Heart : Tower of Nightmare ]

The æthicite was on a band around Amy's right arm. She grabbed it off and studied it for a second. Honestly, she had forgotten about its existence. "Okay, so use thing to channel our inner goodness, I mean, light. Alrighty then." She had no idea how to do this properly, but hey, trying never hurt. Maybe thinking that she wanted to do it would be enough, because if it wasn't she didn't know how. So she thought about it, and hoped it would manifest itself as some kind of cleansing light overcoming the darkness polluting the core.
