He decides against using lightning and unsheathes his warbrand sword and start's cleaving the spikes away, still gathering energy. He was slowly getting through the spikes still yelling to everyone. "SHE'S RIGHT HERE!"

Shadow relaxed and focused on drawing out her soul as her strength was sapped. He said softly his mouth next to her ear No you won't die. I can heal you and keep this body alive quite easily. Or I could make another for you. But no you won't die. I'm after your soul not your life. We are more alike than you know. With the last word he opened up the core of his void for her to see. Within was a sliver of a soul that drew others towards it in it's struggle to be whole. This soul was darker than most but had a light within it that shone surprisingly brightly beneath the darkness.

David finally finished and ended up only a few feet away from the center of the spikes. He looked up at the stars as he began to draw starlight energy for a heat burst instead of just a regular light. He grasped his elixier that was carrying half of an air essence and popped the tap and poured the contents into his mouth, swallowing and coughing hard. He dropped the flask as he lost his connection with the starlight and had to restart. Fro mthe elixier he had become ppacked with a little more energy then normal so was becoming hyper like he had ADHD.

“We are nothing alike.”
She said softly. She looked at the soul but didn’t understand what she saw in it.
“What… what is that?”
She asked. Her voice trembled as he started making comparisons between him and her. 9 kept her breathing slow and study as she tried to figure out what was going on and why he needed or wanted her soul.

He knew this wouldn't get him all the way down there but the explosion should alert everyone else of the attempt to save 9. He began to charge his body with the starlight particles around him as he took it in and grasped his warbrand with both hands. He he held it up high, knowing his warbrand still had plenty of electricity in it from earlier to temporarily stun someone for at least a little bit. He struck downwards with the blade, sending the eletricity from his sword into the ground, hoping it would travel far enough to temporarily stun Wolf before he could do anything to her. He continued charging up with starlight energy, knowing using a sword to just hit the groudn took almost no concentration at all.

He stopped and held his conncetion with the starlight energy. He turned to Waker and Axl and yelled along with some profanity. "NINE IS RIGHT BELOW ME NOW GET YOUR PEARLY WHITE ASSES OVER HERE AND HELP ME NOW!"
(note i'm not meaning this in ooc, just how my character is, a little over protective of women.)
He turned his attention back to focusing his starlight energy to break a hole down to 9. Feeling starlight coursing through his veins, he charged his blade with it, and began to channel the energy.

Shadow moved slightly and part of the vine that held 9 snaked upwards and when it touched the wound it melded with her flesh to stop the bleeding and seal the wound. The blood already lost will serve well enough to weaken her. Shadow then said This is all I was given of a soul. This is why I fight and exist. I want to be whole. You met Wolf. He is just like me. He holds another sliver. We all want to exist. I sacrificed much of what I am to survive. Now I have shown you what I am. You will be placed next to that my core so that nothing may touch you until I can put you safely in a ruby. Then none shall touch you and you shall be free whether or not you believe it.

May want to re-read my post and edit yours.))
