I feel rather stupid right now, as I did not previously realize that the X in Braixen's name reads like a Z, making it's name Braizen. At the very least that's how I'm going to choose to read it from now on based on the fact it's name is a combination of Braise and Vixen.

Also leaks revealed the final forms of the starters as Delphox, Greninja, and Chesnaught. No official confirmation of course, but the images and names are starting to seem rather consistent around the net so this is looking like the real deal.

~digs.~ Alright did some digging. Delphox is indisputable, Greninja and Chestnaught still don't actually have a lot of proof behind them....kinda hoping Greninja is a lie actually...

Judgement will be withheld until official art is shown and confirmed. Liking the potential names, at least. Oh, early releases...

On the slightly more official side of things, we have a pair of evolutions! Chubby perfume bird and chubby cotton candy ball. Pudge pudge pudge.

First link doesn't work, although that does remind me...

BIG NOSED SNOOTY FASHION BIRD! I was right! Eat that BITCHES! nay sayers whom are comparable to females of a particular canine species.

Anyway I like Chesnaught name wise, I can live with Delphox, I dislike Greninja, but that could be a result of not knowing what the Gre is from.

That's not a snooty fashion bird, that's a feather duster with diabetes. I wanted creepy, not awkward. I still like it, though.

Anyway, I'm super hype for Delphox if it's real, because it's a nice maiden/mother/crone thing going on, and it's name is literally Delphi + Fox. Chesnaught's name is surprisingly rad, even if I don't understand the third form. As for Greninja... I got nothing. Except tongue-scarf.

Your terrible taste strikes again? Anyway this stage doesn't really look complete to me. It still has the chance of obtaining a third for and becoming a lanky runway model with lots of poofy feathers. Oh and did you see Helioptile's evo?

Yes the combination of Chestnut and Juggernaut is cool, I bare mixed feelings about it's appearance, part in due to not being able to see it clearly. Although BEARD. Really? It actually is a tongue scarf? I was starring at it before and thinking that's what it looked like...and somehow believing that a tongue scarf would be awesome...dammit your awful taste must be spreading! Except it's not awful it's wondrous. Please explain the significance of Delphi in regards to the robe wearing fox witch/wizard.

THE WORST TASTE EVER. I can see it being a second stage, though not so much with cotton candy puff, and I'd think they'd mirror each other. I have not! *googles* ... huh. Not what I was expecting, but I'll live with it. Also, there may or may not be some luchador-looking thing. I have no idea.

Tongue-scarf is the only way I can understand how that scarf words, because it seems to begin at his mouth, and it's weirdly flesh-toned. Don't worry, I kind of like the weirdness of it too... all will bow to my awful, awful taste. I could be wrong, but yeah. Chesnaught being a combination of Chestnut and Juggernaut makes more sense, because my mind went "dreadnought? but it's not a boat...". As for Delphi, it was an Ancient Greek place of worship, and the home of the Delphic Oracle, a woman who could supposedly predict the future. Now, how does this relate to our fire fox? Well, it's thought that these oracular predictions were actually caused by the priestess inhaling the hot fumes from brimstone or hot springs and having hallucinations. So magic and fire.

THE BEST WORST TASTE EVER. Well only time will tell, though has anyone considered the reason the bird is so fat is because she's been eating the cotton candy kid? I kinda like the evolution. I imagine the frill works like a solarpanel or something. Also yes I've heard of the Luchador thing, and I've heard it's real...it is awful.

An excellent point on all accounts, sadly only time will tell! For the tongue that is. Though I have to admit with a tongue like that, don't think anyone is gonna wanna kiss that frog....or will they? Awful is wonder. So you pulled what I did with Frogadier, which is a combination of Frog and Brigadier, where as I kept thinking "bombadier...but he's not a pilot...". Ah, alright. I tried looking up and wasn't sure if that was it for Delphi. Makes sense. Special move is even Mystic Fire. So yay for getting high off fumes I guess.

And cause we haven't poked fun at it in awhile...

Bwahahaha! I actually like the cotton candy squishy fairly well; it's got a nice hat. As for Helioptile's evolution, it's not bad! I kinda like it. It's just not quite what I was expecting, although the solar panel thing makes sense. I'm not actually sure if that luchador thing is terrible or not; I need more empirical data. By that I mean the game. Oh, leaks...

I didn't like Greninja when I first saw it, but it's kinda grown on me the more pictures I see. The tongue-scarf is just stupid enough for me to love it irrationally, and the rest of the outfit's kind neat. I just have to wonder how cold he gets with the wet, slobbery tongue around his throat... ew. Heh on the "bombadier", though I imagine a flying frog would be rad. I'll have a better opinion on Chesnaught when I'm actually able to see a picture that isn't terrible quality. I had a Greek teacher whose thesis was on Delphi, so I just kind of absorbed info. Either way, it looks like a high mystic/sorceress, so I am on board with this nonsense. Oh man, what if the one time the starter looks super feminine, my powers fail me, and I get a male starter? That would be great.

Actually, while it's the thing to mock Mega Ampharos, and trust me, I am all on that party train, I really think Mega Absol looks worse. Those wings just look so out of place! It's like the same guy who got drunk and glued the scythe to it's head (who is the same guy who glued the knife on Seviper's tail, for the record) got drunk again and glued on plastic wings!

I still don't like derp sugar. Raven of course would scream like a little girl. I like the evolution of Helioptile more then Helioptile. It's neat. Bout time we got a frilled lizard. Shame I still have no real interest in training one. I still think the Luchador is terrible; but in 9 days we'll know for sure! Now if only I didn't have work that day.

Honestly I hated Greninja the first time I saw it and for several times after, however just like the name "Froakie" it's been bleedin growing on me like a FUNGUS. Or would that be Foongus? Nah I never liked Foongus. Brings back bad memories. Anyway. I'd heard it was going to look more like a poison dart frog, and it's a bit more angular then I was expecting, but it has it's charm. I will likely pick Froakie as my starter and name it Hanzo (Which probably isn't as cliche as I keep thinking it is. #1 predicted name for people to nickname Greninja? Naruto.). Now as for the tongue thing...maybe it's to keep his skin from drying out? He is a frog. And now...~image of Frogadier flying a World War I style plane.~. Anyway I'll have a better opinion on all three starter 3rd stages when I see a picture that isn't just a blurry photo of a 3DS screen. Anyway Delphox doesn't look that feminine, it all depends on how you look at it. Several people see it as having a 'robe' rather than a 'dress'. That said I think it's clear you will pick the Witch and I'll take the Ninja. What's Riku planning to pick? Cause if she picked the Juggernaut that'd complete the circle!

If I somehow got a female Froakie and kept it I would name is Hattori. Related to the aforementioned name.

It is plenty of fun to make fun of either, and you have made it quite clear your dislike for Mega Absol. Although I actually like the end of Seviper's tail, albeit it while favouring Zangoose and thus shredding every Seviper I meet. Case in point the fact that Raven has a belt and scabbard made out of Seviper skin which he killed, skinned, tanned, and crafted himself! Arts and crafts are fun! So is brutally murdering Pokemon in that one forest as well apparently (same trip which resulted in Girafarig Bag and Raven carrying around hooves...which I'll probably turn into ashtrays or something some day.).

Derp sugar is adorable... Vanni would be all over that Fairy type. I now imagine her walking around with one floating on top of a stick, and going up to say hello to Raven with the cotton candy just smiling at him. I have an essay due that day, but I can probably finish it up ahead of time so that I may frolic in Poke-Bliss.

I'm not a Foongus fan, I will admit, but Greninja grows like... like a something. I'm not a fan of the fake item!mons. I keep thinking the "Gre" has something to do with it being more poison dart like, but I can't find anything! Riku does not know what she is choosing, possibly because she won't be getting the game right away. It's going to be my earlier Christmas present to her, but since we're like an hour after, and my car's out of commission, she's going to need to come down and break into my dorm for it. I will suggest Chespin, though! I do agree Delphox doesn't look too feminine-- Braxien screams "dude looks like a lady" to me, though. If it's a female, I'm going with Pythia... would Baba Yaga fit? Ariel or Prospero if it's a male. I approve of Hanzo Hattori references.

Don't get me wrong; I do like Seviper. When I did a randomized run of LeafGreen, I got a Seviper for my starter, and she was a wonderful murderbeast. That being said, Raven's brutality towards Pokemon is grand. As for the hooves, obviously Fable needs to be given the hooves so he can bang them together so as to make little clip-clopping noises... though I've heard coconuts are better for the job. Yeah, that's the reference I went with. Oh, and a spoiler (lol like the past eight posts have been spoiler-tastic), but new possible mega form.

In the Garden of Monsters

Honestly what you just said actually gives me this image of Vanni devouring/ripping to shreds a Swirlix. Which is really just like any other crazed kid ripping into cotton candy, except it's accompanied by screaming. I have work, no less a day shift, but I can probably slip out a little early to make absolutely certain I can pick up my copy of the game. Assuming they have it on hand...actually I need to check for a midnight release cause that would solve everything.

I just go with a fungus or a moss. It's the best reference for something that steadily grows, and then is damn near impossible to get rid of. Maybe it's Gren? Wouldn't be the first time they merged a letter in the middle of the name. Honestly the image you gave me just sort of has me envisioning Riku running down the highway, crashing through buildings and eventually through the doorway of your room to get that game. Tri-Force of Insanity! I will admit Braixn is clearly a magical girl, even if it's a boy, which has technically happened before. Both in Japan AND the states. Baba Yaga seems too wordy. Probably best to shorten to Baba or Yaga. I approve Ariel for the male name. Just cause. Yay, someone who at least get's the ninja reference! Though if you want to get technical that should be written Hattori Hanzo.

Yes they can be wonderful little murder machines. I still miss Daemon my Zangoose. Now as for the brutality...he didn't want to waste the kill, and it just so happened his new sword didn't fit the old scabbard, and he needed a bag for carrying things. That was a wonderful reference, and were it in either Raven or Fable's character I would have them do it without a second thought. Sadly the only Pokemon who's character DOES suit that lacks any hands to speak of. Sweet Zombie Arceus....NOW I MISS MY GENGAR!!! IT'S ON THAT COPY OF B2 I LOST!!! crying

....or wait...was he? He might still be on my copy of black actually...I think I remember doing an online battle against someone and kicking a** with Hypnosis and Dream Eater.

... that's a really great image, and when Vanni eventually goes completely off the deep end, it will hopefully be worked in somewhat. I'm mostly just hoping to go in the early morning, pick up my reserved copies, and swing back without much of an issue. And then show the game to everyone.

I've always thought kudzu was a better analogy... that stuff's everywhere in the south, and it's almost impossible to kill. I could see Gren/Green, but it's not even the right color! Oh well, maybe the nice folks are Bulbapedia will be will to delve into the etymology. Whatever gets Riku down here will work; that we play battle pokemon together! Oh, and we're both getting X, so we'll be hitting you up for Y stuff. Give me the puffy diabetes bird. True on the ninja's name! He was great fun in Pokemon Conquest; he and his Gengar just killed things without a care. Pokemon Conquest was awesome, everyone go play it.

I think I'm one of the few who prefers Seviper to Zangoose? I know Zangoose is better, but I like the grumpy knife-snape. I still have Riddle, and she was wondrous. As for Raven... waste not, want not! He should have eaten it though; snake is actually really delicious when cooked properly. Gengar is like my second favorite ghost type, and that is such a neat form. I do hope yours hasn't vanished into the aether!

I eagerly anticipate these events. Unfortunately work starts before the mall opens. My only choice is to duck out early, or switch shifts. Switching shifts however would be more troublesome than it is worth, so ducking out early is good.

Kudzu? Gren has to somehow be related to frogs. I mean every other name was somehow related to frogs. Anyway Bulbapedia solves all such naming mysteries. Sure sure I'll give you the little Snoot, but you'll have to pass along...whatever the hell it is I need/want from X that I can't get in Y. Missing out on Mega Charizard X aside I guess it's a good thing I picked Y. Conquest was awesome, and I actually totally forgot that Hanzo was in that game. I get an F for memory. I thought of the name for entirely different reasons; but hell whatever works.

I honestly don't know is Zangoose is better, I just played Ruby as a child and fell in love with the murder mongoose. Who is Riddle? I somehow wonder how you know what snake tastes like...and actually he DID eat it...the Girafarig too. He gave some of the meat to a starving Victoria...ironically after she yelled at him for being the "mighty hunter" killing and skinning Pokemon. In spite of it's weaknesses Gengar IS my favourite Ghost-Type. I was so happy when I was able to trade my Haunter to a friend and back again to make him Evolve.
