Jean threw up her hands, leaning forward to slug him lightly in the gut.
"You complete and utter...idiot. Sound like a broken record. No wonder you can't find the right direction half the time. I'm starting to see why you two clung to each other. He must have beaten the broken record out of you, you must have beaten the god complex out of him. Is that the only reason you're going? Because he can get your head out of your arse enough to find Victor?!"
She rose up and tapped her foot lightly, scowling.
"And the things you have to go back to...what then? You really suppose that all the women in your life are gonna take this seriously? Somewhere between here and your destination, you'd better figure out how to stop kidding yourself into believing everyone will continue to cater to this "I'm so childish," or the "I'm so dumb and stubborn," routine.
It's getting old. You're soul might be young, but that body of yours has been through enough that even you should have more common sense then that.
She found her seat again, and looked out towards the sea.
"But I suppose I might as well be mute for all you'll listen. Just don't blame me if you end up losing this one to your "way" of things."

"I don't see what my love life has to do with my saving someone you guys apparently care about but can't be arsed to go help." He threw both the vest and jacket over one shoulder, standing there with nothing but the pants and boots done up.
He'd hardly flinched when she struck him, taking it in stride and looking like a scolded child.
"I knew Sun way before my b*****d of a brother decided to poke his nose into my business, so don't even try to justify my own reasons.
I know what I have to do, and I will get it done. One step a time. "

"Yes, because getting you here really doesn't help him..." She muttered. "You gonna leave now? Or do you wanna wait for morning? It'll be nasty when the sun goes down..." She stretched out and leaned against the chair/gate, looking at him and scowling out of the corner of her strange eyes, as if trying to puzzle something out.
"Technically, you know part of what you're going to do, and will blow up, any thing else, by the way."

"You say that like it's a bad thing."
He was amused, even as he strapped on the last of the belts, securing the coat over his body, feeling numbed at the tip.
"Speaking of which... what exactly am I looking for here...? I don't exactly see guided sign posts or a 'You are here' map."

"You're asking me as if I live here." She was nervous, and couldn't settle, and it showed in the pacing, up from the seat, down from the seat, and then back to scrunching snow again.
"You'll find some gloves in one of the pockets," Jean was mothering again, "All I know is that the person that created Sun was a doctor, technically you only find those at one place, and there isn't exactly a metropolis out here."
"I wish I could help more, but I'd be useless further in. All I can do is spin you in the right direction and get you on your way." Which obviously didn't exactly sit well.

"Well..."
Closing his eyes, he stood upon the peak of the ground overlooking the ocean. He breathed in the misty air and focused, trying to see on the infrared spectrum, to 'feel' it out and track down one particularly familiar body heat signature...
Only to recieve what was best described as snowballing static.
"What's with this place... its stifling just to be here..." He could feel the vague yet reseilient pull on his very core, as if something were trying to draw him in.

"Ah, now you're begining to notice. I tried to explain, but you weren't listening. No magic, no sifting of the cosmic energies, no higher sense...nada. It's been sucked dry. Reason it's spread so far is, well, Sunstrike. It's what he does, can't help it."
She patted his chest lightly.
"You'll be blind up here, but at least you won't freeze to death, well, not if you get going anyway. What the hell are you waiting for?!"

"Right."
He turned away, and started moving forward, the flamberge strapping straight to his back through a shoulder strap created by the Hand. His single coat tail flapping with movement, paused to rest a hand on her shoulder.
"Thanks. I guess."

She patted the hand on her shoulder for a moment, debated and then kissed the skin lightly.
"Good luck, okay? Don't be too quick to annihilate everything, looking for something that might already be gone. Sunstrike was lazy and silly, Datho is manipulative and crazy, don't fall into the trap."
Jean bit her lip as if trying to think of further advise, but, upon finding none, she slipped out of his grasp a few steps, watching with eyes that swirled lightly.

"That's just it, lady. I do know him.
He's in pain. He needs something to strike out against. Something to help him move from the past to the future. I'll keep him moving.
All that power will do is make him die right alongside the person he wants to be. I'll remind him of his reason to live."
Giving off a half-smile, he was already walking away even as he spoke, his left arm raised and giving a back wave as he went off. "He needed something, someone to hit, so now he has it. Seems like the least that can be done."
He would continue to walk in his general direction until he was just a dotted figure on the frozen landscape, and even until he was finally gone from sight entirely.
And if he hates me...well it's not like I'm gonna be hanging around much longer these days.
Let him stay up nights figuring out ways to hurt me... it'll give him something to live for.
Maybe that's cruel.
But it's always worked for me.

::For all intents and purposes it was a snowy landscape filled with absolutely nothing of value, as far as the eye can see. Birds sung, tree's blew in the wind, and the occassional furry Warg would walk by thanking the Heavens for its furry coat, and the plentiful bounty of rabbits.
As the hours passed, the walk seemed to stretch on and on. There was no hint or even sign of civilization in few, but oddly the farther one went the less the animal population seemed to be. But, after about 4 hours of walking, the occasional Warg was just about all the life there seemed to be.
And thats when it came into view, just on the horizon was a hill and as the hill peaked over, there it was.
In view was what seemed to be a massive black dot, way off in the distance. It seemed like miles which was a testament to the size of this black edifice. But nightfall was coming to this barren waste, and with nightfall the temperatures fell to the barely survivable. The winds picked up, lashing exposed flesh with bits of ice and drifting snow. It was like walking through vicious sand paper.
A single traveler, might find it best to take a moments rest. Or perhaps against the odds he would persevere on. The decision lied solely in his hands.::

Having landed on the slowly fading green platform, Ruuvan could see the snow was going to be nice and solid as one would expect, so they would sink in and have a hard time moving at all. So, a second before said platform faded, Ruuvan waved his hand over his and D's feet to create a circle of light on the soles similar to that which stopped the metal making a sound earlier, only these would act as snow shoes instead to stop them sinking in; surface area for the win!
With no chance of them sinking now, and perhaps D occupied by the shiny to interrupt his trail of thought, Ruuvan observed their surroundings; they were standing in a footprint, a robot footprint that could easily have a house built in it, and the two large doors of the tower seemed to be the only plausible way to go and continue the search. As for how much the print intimidated him, he just wanted to find Maximos and then he might spare a thought as to what was going to be after them. "Stay by me, D." He said in a deadly serious tone, the happy version of himself being covered over as the need arose for a more serious persona.
Having used his sword to carve a series of steps out of the footprint, Ruuvan now stood at the door of the large tower and was once again overcome by anxiety as he pictured opening it and seeing Maximos again. He knew he wouldn't have the strength to push open the doors, what with them being 30 feet tall and looking as if they were made from solid metal. So, in a feeble attempt to get some communication with whatever was inside, Ruu whacked his hand on the door three times and waited for an answer of any kind.

What do you want....?! Just go away!!
::A voice shouted back. It was female, and yet it sounded as if it was drenched by sobbing. A girl crying? Here?! Humanity existed here?
This was the sort of place that was so dark it made you wonder if anything other than the worst beings could exist here. And yet it seemed someone did. And it was someone upset by something, deeply and truly. There are just some tones that a good set of ears can tell. Theres a subtly difference between real tears, and crocodile tears...these were real.
D, would probably have been very empathetic, but he had just finished a snow angel, and he was REALLY busy with this snowman. Really busy, the ball he was rolling had to be perfect!::

No matter how real the emotion was, however harsh and uncaring that might've been, Ruuvan had come this far in his search and he wasn't about to let something so small turn him away. So what if this girl was having a breakdown? If Maximos was here, Ruuvan was going to find him. "I'm looking for Maximos of Aria!" He shouted back through the door, hoping the name would mean something or atleast let the individual know they weren't here to cause them harm and were simply searching for someone.

Ruuvan "I'm looking for Maximos of Aria!" ::There was a moment of silence, one really couldnt tell if it was someone thinking or just trying to figure out whats going on. But after about 10 seconds the voice shouted back, devoid of all tears.:: Who!?
