Joey walked into the bar and took a seat as he awaited Lezard's arrival. He ordered a scotch and soda before pulling out his deck of cards, shuffling them repeatedly.

"Deo favente... this place smells of blood." Lezard said as he entered the bar. Looking left and right, he found Frost sitting at a table. Lezard strode over to Frost and took a seat next to him. "Interesting place this is, I believe I haven't seen a place with this much hunters... well except for the covenent in Rome and Stonehenge on Hallows Eve." Lezard said to Frost.

Joey chuckled. "Yes...no doubt they're associates of ours in some way" he replied before taking a sip of his newly arriving drink. "So..how long have you been a guardian?" he asked.

Lezard smiled and said, "Ever since a group of them killed my entire family... I know what you are thinking, why would anyone endeavor to protect creatures that killed his kin?" Lezard took a short pause before telling his story.
"When I was 17, my family attempted to raze a nest of Vampires. Everyone but me was killed in the fight, and I was the only one left against this old Vampire in Victorian clothes. I was lucky enough that he slipped on the blood of my brother while rushing at me and I stabbed his heart with his own knife. After the fight, I was too wounded to set fire to the place and had to rest there while my wounds healed."
Lezard closed his eyes and rested for a moment before he continued, "While I was there I discovered some of the journals that the Vampires kept. It seemed that when your life is so long... your most chersished memories fade unless you keep a record. The Vampire that I killed was a merchant before he was turned... he had a wife who was waiting for him to return but he could not after becoming a Vampire. His entries were so sad because he truely loved her. I realized that Vampires were once humans and they are just like you and me. I decided that day to become a Guardian. After a few days, Vampire Hunter Group discovered me at the nest and took me to a covenent. There I recouperated and set off on my new life."

"It's been five years for me...." he said, closing his eyes and taking another sip of his drink. "WHen i was...I don't know, maybe three years old...My mother and father were killed in a vampire attack...A family friend took me in from then on. He used to be a huge gambling freak, playing slots, hustling card sharks..the works, ya know. Well, he taght me every thing that I know about gambling until I learned to surpass him....then, for a few years he used me as a face for his gambling." he explained before downing the remains of his drink and ordering another. "Then, about five years ago, I got into a game with a ducker....someone who wouldn't pay up after he lost...I mean the man owed me twenty-five grand for god sakes. Well, he turned out dead that night, and the police thought that I had done it." he continued before accepting his drink. "Well, to make a long story short...the man that I thought was my friend...turned out to be my parents' killer. When I found out, I knew hat vampires really existed. My first kill...was that same man....from then on, I trained my body for combat situations until I joined the hunters here." he said, explaining his entire life story for all intents and purposes.

"Five years huh? I am impressed, not a lot of people survive as long as you without any previous training." Lezard said, "How did you learn how to take down a Vampire?"

Joey's face looked mortified from this memory. "H..Have you ever..held a head...in your hands before?" he asked as he held his hands up closer to his face with clenched fists. "I just did what I knew how to do....I took Kendo as a kid...he thought it would help me with my poker face....keeping emotions hidden during battle..ya know?" he said softly.

"So you are a Swordfighter..." Lezard stated, "I applaude your bravery. Going toe to toe with a Vampire is especially hard since Humans are extremely weak and pitifully slow... Fortes fortuna iuvat."
Lezard open his coat to reveal several tissue bags of powdered spices. "I find that this weakness can be countered by Human ingenuity." He stated.

Joey nodded. "I'm a gambler, remember....risks and bravery are my forte." he said before taking a sip of his drink. "But I'm a gunslinger too, if the need arises" he finished.

"Heh... that is young but I need to ask you some questions..." Lezard said to Frost, "Do you know where I can find a group of Guardians?"

Lezard frowned, "Well that is sad to hear... it seems that NY is on the verge of open warefare. I am sure you heard about the Brooklyn Bridge and the Skyscraper incidents. Haec trutina errat... this is bad... I must first find a place to conduct operations before beginning any actions here." Lezard stood up and prepared to leave, "Thank you for your company Frost... I must leave to find some place where I can establish as a base. If you have any idea where I can go, please tell me. If not, I bid you goodbye."

"Fare well my friend" Joey said before downing the rest of his drink. He stood, only to stumble for a few steps. He had never had a very good alcohol tolerance, and that having been his third in the past hour, took him farther than he wanted. He regained his composure before walking gracefully out the door and heading towards Demonic Ties to meet with Tokeru. "Hopefully now I can feel a bit of peace" he said before walking down the stairs towards the exit to Haven. ((exit))

A solemn an bloodied face stares down at the bar counter, a droplet dripping from the tip of her nose and splattering on the hardwood. Eyes glisten beneath the swash of matted black locks that curl down her spine of rips and tatters. Her shirt exposes flesh that is marked by claws and bloody lines on down to rumpled jeans and thuck muddy boots.
"I... was ambushed."
She snarls out the words and spats blood on her sleeve, eyes filled with anger and hatred and a vivacious hunger to kill.
"And I want to kill them all..."

Walking back into the bar, she looked around, shoving her hands deeper into her pockets as she made her way across the dance floor to the bar. She might as well wait for Krii here and get a drink in the process. "Hey Hunter," she said as the old man came over to her, cleaning a glass as he gave her a slightly amused look. She shot him a glance as if to say "dont ask" as he set down a bottle of vodka with a reddish tint to it in front of her and a shot glass. Sliding the shot gladd back to him, she gave him a small grin as she simply took the open bottle and downed a good portion of it, hissing softly through her fangs as she felt the mixture burn its way down her throat. Nothing was better at solving her anger problems than a large drink, or a large kill. Seeing as Haven was supposed to be on lockdown right now, however, she figured she better just wait here and spend some time with her fiancee before all hell breaks loose out in the city.
Downing another drink from the bottle, she swivelled around in her chair to look out on the moving bodies of the dance floor and the different faces throughout the booths and chairs in teh club. She had always been good at telling which ones were the hunters, and which ones were just looking for a good time, and tonight was no exception. As much s**t as went on in this bar with normal humans around, one would think that the knwoledge of such a war would be everywhere. However, the general public remained blissfully ignorant of the war going on right under their noses, and the hunters continued working their asses off as they always did. "******** mortals," she muttered under her breath as she took another drink from the bottle.
