"A most acceptable answer," Mildred affirmed, eyes wandering to the direction he'd begun to stare off towards. What was he seeing that she couldn't?
Resolving that she must not possess the skill to properly view whatever he might be looking at, she turned back towards him, curiously examining his face. Why was his skin flushed with color? Was it some side-effect from the drink?
Her gaze flickered away from him, stolen by the chickens that were still attempting to roost atop each other atop him. And with one very efficient swipe of her hand, she smacked them off of him and sent them plummeting onto the bridge below.
"They were affecting you in an undeniably negative manner," she explained, which was not really much of an explanation anyway.
