This area is hard fer th' mmonstars tae geit tae... but noot impossible. Weh need soomoone tae gaurd th' two not transformed girls. She pointed out. Th' best oone would beh Finita, but she's noot here. She clapped the Gorgon on her tail with her hand roughly. Denne worreh though. Ahm sure ye will geit tae use yer spear vereh soon.

It was then Alex approached with his Great sword slung over his shoulder.

Ye welcome, Lad. Aye, et's ah oone tyme deal! Any moore and ah take meh payments in gei wondahful gold! Goooold... She gleefully said the word, her eyes glimmering at the thought of it.

~~~
I squeezed my eyes happily as she shuffled the chairs and table around to find a place of safety, and gave a cute warble when she kissed me between my ears. When she set me in her lap, I looked up at her, before curling up into a ball in her lap and resting my head on her leg. Hopefully she would stay calm for a while.
Helena smiled agreeably and nodded at Estelle's logic and the amicable gesture. "You're right. I just...well, I'll try not to get too close to them if I can help it. That one young girl looked like she was having some kind of fit and I don't look like the most cuddly sort" she chortled, motioning to her appearance. She used the same general approach for Ratchet, tasting his fear the first time they had met. Looking at the spear tip as it glittered sharply she nodded again. "I'm sure I can poke a monster or two that happens to get nosy enough to stick its ssssnout in the door. I'll put this to good use when I can, ss".
In fact, staying in the observation area started to sound better than she thought. Now, out here in the corridor, she could taste all sorts of things, some of them rather unpleasant, most unidentifiable as yet because her brain couldn't associate the odors with the creatures they belonged to yet.
She heard a disgusting squelching mixed with faint hissing sounds as the goblins Estelle had bashed abruptly dissolved into the black goo substance and disappeared. Helena swayed slightly as a small wave of nausea rolled through her, making her dizzy for a second or two. The gorgon straightened up and blinked, breathing carefully, trying to ignore the taste-scents her serpents were picking up and relaying. Where in the world had that come from?
"O-okay then, I'm fine with that. You know where to find me if you need me. Come back safe, if not in one piece" she replied, pasting on a smile and waving at the others before she turned and slithered back into the room, wondering what set her off. Maybe it was just the way they melted into a pile of oozing black...no, no, better not to think of that description. She wished she had some peppermints to suck on, and remembered that she'd left her bag up here. Wending her way across to the table where she had left it, Helena dug around in her handbag and drew out a packet, popping one of the small sweets in her mouth with a sigh. Ahh, that was already helping settle her slightly queasy stomach.
***
Corel was stroking Silvia-kit's fur idly, trying to keep her thoughts on pleasant things, happy things. She thought about that new tea shop with the chocolate croissants and the sweets that she'd wanted to try, the cute waiter she'd seen there. She thought about the beautiful dolls that had just come in at one of her favourite toy stores, especially the colourful little Fen Trolls with their soft bright hair and cute little elfin ears. Ooh, they were collectibles! So cute too. She really wanted the limited edition candy themed ones.
She was just asking the little fox her opinion on toys when she heard something and a shimmy of movement caused her look up. Corel froze, the colour draining from her face once again. "Oh...my...gosh...don't tell me..." her voice struggled out in a hoarse and high pitched whisper, for the fox's ear's only. Before her was the body of a giant snake, banded with black and gold. Thrills of terror shot down the girl's spine and she clutched the kit to her protectively, huddling into a ball and sliding back on her butt, away from Helena's snakey coils. She could feel her heart starting to hammer in her chest as her breathing started getting ragged and she broke out in a cold sweat for the second time that day. Don't move...don't make sound...oh geez, it's one of THEM!
***
Alex waved back at the gorgon as she headed back into the room behind him, wishing her to stay safe also and to keep her eyes peeled. He'd noticed her pale slightly when she saw the melting goblins, and hoped she was okay. Maybe that was her first time seeing it. But the harpies from earlier had melted like that too. He frowned for a moment, letting it go.
Turning back to his companion, he chuckled somewhat nervously at Estelle's commentary, her fervor for the shiny yellow metal was a little...overly keen. "Heh...y-yeah, well I'm sure if we make it through all of this alive, I'll be one of your best customers and bring you lots of gold. But now, let's get going"
He started to pick his way along the hall, now cleared of monster bodies.
Estelle watched the snake woman slither into the room with a nod. Once her long banded gold and black colored tail vanished into the room, she looked to Alex and Micheal.
She grinned eagerly at Alex as he commented that he would bring her lots of gold, before he headed down the hall. She followed after him, marching at a steady pace with her maul over her shoulder.
I gave a warbling cry in alarm when Corel started to freak out again when Helena slithered right up to the table. I found myself clutched to her chest and getting squeezed a tiny bit too hard as she started to freak out again. This time all I could manage was a strangled squeak...
Being smushed against one's assets, no matter how small they may be, was not normally a pleasant experience for anyone and Corel quickly realised her mistake as the kit let out a pathetic squeaking sound that tore at the girl's heartstrings. She loosened her grip on Silvia at once, shaking like a jelly as the snake woman moved around, kissing the kit on the ears and petting her in apology, "Sorry, sorry" Corel whispered, her voice barely audible, just above a breath of air. "Didn't mean to squash you, baby. Oh...oh no..." Hands had appeared under the edge of the table...
***
Hearing a warbled alarm cry, Helena flinched and almost choked on her mint, coughing a few times and thumping her chest. She wiped her watering eyes with a finger beneath the glasses, not wanting to take them off for any reason. Dropping her handbag, she put both hands underneath the table and lifted it up to see where the warble had come from.
Immediately she noticed the girl huddled underneath with her fox and realised her blunder, her mouth opening and closing a few times before she hurriedly dropped the table back into place with a "Sorry! Didn't mean to bother you!"
Oops. Helena slid away from Corel's hiding spot as swift as she could manage, her spear clasped firmly in her hand. She looked up at a flicker of blue that streaked down from the ceiling to talk to her.
***
Olivia, who had fluttered into the room ahead of Helena and was scouting around it for good spots to barricade, flew down, looking excited. "Hellie, I found a good spot to block off. Let's cover the exits with vines. I had an idea to try and control them so only friends can get through and monsters will get tangled" she explained, fluttering overhead for a bird's eye view. "Oh! I got another idea. Let's make a viney-net trap as well. When they step in, the vines will snare them up and then no on gets hurt because we don't have to fight! What d'you think?"
She may have been small but her heart was in the right place, wanting to help all her friends. If she could use her vines to protect them as well, she was going to try.
***
Helena smiled warmly at the fairy, "That sounds brilliant. I just wish I knew what to do to help. Maybe we can...oh," she turned to look at the table and chairs Corel was using, "Er, well we can use the table turned over on its side and use that to hide behind as a shelter. And we should do something with the empty ritual room too and maybe we can use the meditation room to store supplies such as medicine and fresh water"
***
Alex followed the others along the hallways, heading to where Cecelia's room was. He kept one hand on the hilt of the greatsword at all times, looking around on high alert, jumpy, waiting for anything to pounce out or fly at them. He was also keeping an eye out for water, which Estelle had expressed her dislike of. "Hey, do you guys hear that?" he whispered, picking up on sounds in the hallway ahead.
Micheal stayed close with the dwarf and Alex. He found it a bit strand that awkward Alex was suddenly able to handle a sword, but he didn't think too much into it. There were other things to do.
Making there way down the hallways was no too eventful. Once they got Cecelia, they could get the employee's holed up in the next hallway.
He froze when Alex did. "What. What is it?"
Shikoba was finished with her primitive tool and looked around. Despite her, spurn of the moment idea, Corel's idea to barricade herself was a good one. Maybe they could form up around it?
She gripped her tool a little tighter and she coughed to get the attention of the gorgon. She could help but be nervous. Snake were already disconcerting creatures. To be faced with a giant snake woman with snakes for hair who make anyone uneasy.
"Um... Is there something I could help with?" she asked, resting her tool on one shoulder.
Ratchet was almost to the Observation room. He found many bodies just outside. Or... pieces that were slowly all turning into evaporating black goo. He tried not to me sick as he carefully stepped around it and into the room. That couldn't be good for anyone to breath.
"H-Hi, I'm back." he said, to let anyone in the room know it was him.
They were confronted by the howling cries that sounded deep and bone chilling...
Estelle immediately took down her maul and prepared for battle.
They eventually saw, coming towards them, was a very strange looking creature... it's body and head was like a dog, though it was very hairy. It's legs came down into long clawed and finned claws, and it had a mouth full of sharp teeth with two very prominent walrus like tusks. It had a horse tail where it's fleshy dog tail should be... It snarled at the group then let loose a terrifying scream in challenge...
~~~

I gasped for air as she let me breathe again. I panted and gasped as I looked up at Helena, who had by now lifted to table to see what was going on.... She saw the frightened Corel and slithered away. All I could do was gasp for air as Corel petted me in apology...

Magz nodded and attempted molding her flames again. In a few moments, she had returned to her smaller size. She then flew over to Finitas' shoulder and held on. "If she's not here, then there's no point in sticking around. We need to get back to the others. They're waiting on us, and I think, outside of the Gorgon, we're the best defense those humans have got."
Magz knew that humans of this era were unprepared for what the mythical could do, despite all the legends and myths that mentioned these beings.

Finita smiled as she stepped out of the room.

An argument could be made for the Dwarf. None the less... Let's go.

It was then she turned and started to charge through the halls again.

Finita arrived after Ratchet did, after a few minutes. She had trampled a few monsters along the way (just for the hell of it.)

Ducking into the observation room, she looked about, seeing Ratchet, Olivia, Helena and Shikoba.

Looking to Shikoba she held out the square loom.

Here. Head into that room (she pointed to the Meditation room's door) and start weaving a blanket. As you're doing so, there are feathers in the bag that you'll want to weave into the patterns. There's also materials for a beak mask in the bag too. Decorate as you'd like.

Settling down on the floor she looked about.

Where's Estelle, Micheal, Alex, Silvia and Corel? She asked, concerned.

Alex's eyebrows knitted worriedly, a look of concentration in his eyes as the monster approached them.

"I don't know...it sounds like..."

The misshapen looking creature lumbered towards them as he spoke and Alex pointed at it with his sword, cringing as it let out a bone chilling scream.

"That!" He shouted, running back out of its way to avoid being mauled or gored on its tusks. Looks like they had an obstacle in the way!

Gearing himself for battle, he hefted the sword in both hands and charged towards the monster, yelling as he did so. Alex swung at one of its legs, aiming to slice at the fleshy fin-like section.

***

Olivia spread her hands out and concentrated, a sparkling rush of energy causing bluish light to glow around her tiny form. Moments later, vines rushed up out of the ground, breaking apart the tiles of the floor and raveling up the walls, across the open doorway, over the floors, table...actually, they weren't supposed to grow this fast. "Ahh!" The fairy yelped, trying to control her powers as she sensed them getting away from her, flowing out and rapidly spreading all over the room like the first time she had used them. "I...I think I tried to do too much at once!" She called down to Helena, panicking a bit as she watched the thorny vines swell and spiral everywhere, flowers popping up in bursts of coloured petals. She took a deep breath and shouted as loud as she could to the others in the room, able to see where they were from her vantage point up near the ceiling. "Look out, get out of the way! My vines will capture you if you don't!" Oh, darn it, this wasn't how that was supposed to go. Feeling sleepy as her plants threaded their way all over, she closed her eyes for a second, drifting down to alight on the gorgon lady's shoulder. "Hellie, I did my best. I'm sorry" Olivia looked up at her with teary eyes, looking slightly drained.

***

Looking over at a slight cough, Helena saw Shikoba standing there with her makeshift hammer and smiled, looking around the room. "Oh, certainly you can help! The more the better, I sssay. But we don't have a lot of materials to work with. Just a pile of glass and sssome chairs and a table. And they appear to be in usse" she let her tongue slither out and taste the air as she smiled sheepishly. She hadn't meant to disturb someone's hiding place. "Well, we need to find suppliess if we're going to be holed up in here for any length of time" She was about to suggest the girl to come with her and search when Olivia started calling out to her from above, catching her attention. "Uh-oh!"

Helena quickly moved out of the way of the vines as they spread, covering most of the room, particularly thick around the doorway and and floors where Olivia had been trying to focus her powers. Her snakes moved support the tired fairy as she floated back down and landed on her shoulder and she gave her a comforting smile. "It'ss fine. You did well. If we have trouble getting in here then the monsterss will as well" She glanced at the tangled up doorway thoughfully for a second. "Olivia, have you tried commanding the vines? Maybe you can control them a little bit, like in different places. Try telling the ones near the door to move aside, just a big enough gap for a person to go through"

***

Corel had let go of the fox kit, putting her on the floor to catch her breath, as she realised she was gasping and puffing. She had loosed her hold on her but it seemed not to help so she sat her beside her on the cool tiles instead. She could feel herself growing embarrassed, that people knew she was hiding under the table now, but she couldn't bring herself to crawl out. The woman had spoken to her nicely enough but the fact she was a snake-like being made Corel's skin crawl. She knew what the venom of snakes did to a person, melted their insides, shut down their nervous system, make them really ill. And the way the scales glistened...ugh!

However, she didn't get to stay nice and safe in her little hideaway. Oh no. She heard voices outside, someone shouting in a high pitched pleasant and rather cute voice...and then, "Eeek!" A screech of alarm went out of the girl as she saw atrocious vines burst out of the ground and start scrambling everywhere, winding towards her. Snatching up her 'baby', the silver puff of fox kit, she scrabbled out from under that table as fast as she was able, pushing chairs over as she hurried and clambered on top of the table instead. Corel shrieked and shivered, turning this way and that on top of the table, trying to see all the vines and what they were doing at once. "Ew, ew! Where did these come from?!" It was creepy, seeing plants move around on their own. They reminded her almost of snakes as well.

***

Olivia nodded at Helena, taking a steadying breath. "So it's not too big a mistake, you think I can still make it work, Hellie?" she sniffed. She'd been so disappointed at how it turned out but she soon calmed down with Helena's kind encouragement. "All right, hold on, I'll give it a try!"

Standing up, holding onto the gorgon's hair for support, Olivia raised one hand, concentrating on the vines covering the doorway. She could feel them, see them clearly in her mind and feel the life running through every leaf and vein. They were healthy and strong, ready to move at her direction. Concentrating, Olivia asked them to move, visualised them gently moving away and reshaping themselves to make an opening. She didn't realise she had closed her eyes until she heard creaking and rustling and looked up to see they had moved to make a perfectly wide opening for the doorway to let people through. "Yay!" Delighted, the fairy clapped her hands, but then wobbled a bit, and fell back, feeling Helena's hair snakes catch her. "Ooh...I better take it slowly. But that was fun!" She giggled.

***

Helena saw Ratchet and Finita enter the room, watching the minotaur stride across the room to Shikoba with some instructions and handing her a loom and a bag. She cast a concerned glance at her fairy friend, helping her sit down on her shoulder as she slithered over to Finita to report. "Finita! I'm glad you made it back. Well, sssome of the others went out to go and find Cecelia and to help other scientists and people trapped in the building. Corel is...there", she pointed to the table where the girl was dancing around on it like the floor was crawling with cockroaches.

"And myself, Shikoba, Olivia and now you and Ratchet are here. I'm trying to find ways to fortify thiss area but we don't have much to work with. Olivia helped with her vines", she smiled proudly at the little fairy. "I was going to make a forray to get supplies to stock up in here and alsso hoping to get my alchemy set. But I need help. My room iss still frozen"

((And just to let you know, I was using the 'eal' spelling for Micheal from the moment I named him. It is a legitimate variant, like spelling Isabelle as Isabele or Isabell or Izabelle. Would you tell someone to their face that they are spelling their own name wrong? Go ahead and correct when people are misspelling Corel's name Mey, but please do not correct the spelling of the character I made when people are actually spelling his name correctly. Please and thank you.))

Magz fluttered off Finitas' shoulder once they'd reached the others and began exploring the room with short hops. She was surprised to see the fairy wielding her magic so vigorously, but then she, like Magz herself, must not be used to her power yet. She then spotted a human girl scrambling up onto a table as the vines grew up and decided to fly up to her. The poor girl looked frightened and her maternal instincts kicked in.
"Oh, you poor dear!" She called as she landed on the table. Magz looked up at her, turning every which way, as if trying to find a way to escape. She fluttered up and carefully landed on the girl's shoulder. "Please do try to calm down." She spoke into her ear softly. "Nothing in this room right now is going to hurt you. And we're doing our darndest to try and keep the real monsters out."

((Sorry, guys... Things are starting to get really busy on my end, so I might not post as often.))

Micheal quickly moved a little farther behind Estelle and Alex. Unlike the two, he was weaponless and a lot less willing to get near that thing. Whatever that thing was, it looked like something straight out of a horror movie. Most of these monsters did. It was enough to make him run back to the Observation room, but he couldn't do that.
Not yet anyway. So he swallowed and waited it out. Estelle and Alex seemed to have things in hand.

Shikoba watched as one of the scientist returned, quickly followed by the Minos with a little bird on her shoulder, the phoenix from earlier. She took an involuntary step back as the Minotauress walked to her. It wasn't that she was afraid. She was feeling extremely intimidated by the woman's form. It was harder to ignore that instinct that said 'hey get out of her way, or get trampled'. She quickly got a reign on that.
It threw her off again to be handed a loom and thread and feathers. Plus, as the woman stated, things to make a mask. She could hardly hold all of that and a weapon, so it nearly thing dropped to the floor. But she managed to keep it.
She was tempted to ask what purpose this stuff would serve, but she decided that it was best not too. Everyone seemed tense. She wasn't about to agitate anyone. So she walked the the 'meditation room' and settled down with her things. It took a second to get the square loom set up, but after a minute she started on her work.
