She looked back to see if Erebus was behind her like he'd said he would be, and for the first time, she realized that she'd left him behind, stopping to look back. Tomoko would have made a tiny panicked noise if her voice hadn't been stolen away from her as it had been.
Erebus. Come find me, please. I'm scared.....
She was. She really was and for a moment, she wasn't sure if she was ready to keep climbing.
Oh, how she missed the technology of the white kingdom.

Jerry's headache was growing, as was his sour mood. He wanted his friend back. He was instructed to do all of this, and he was going to follow orders. he didn't care about whatever grand schemes the disembodied person had. He had his own. The Voice could suck it.
Ahh, now the voice was pleading for her to go away, that it had the power to make her the greatest of kings. It sounded nice, but she knew it was all bull. A web of lies that would just create more despair.

As the voice faded from her head, Moriko turned back to her happy thoughts of Sig. It was sort of an odd feeling, to be thinking about someone even though they were so nearby. Yet it calmed her in a way, it provided her drive and motivation to continue moving up the steps. If there was anything that she could do to save her friend she would gladly do it.

It happened once more, time seemed to retard. This time it spoke nonsense. Kingdoms being created by the Voice. People being created by the Voice. Without the kingdoms, people disappear. People disappear without their kingdoms... As he reached the one hundred and sixty ninth step, he stopped and looked toward Maple, his chest heaving heavily.
Was he created by the Voice?
Uru stood and thought as time returned to normal for him. It did not make sense. He could justify his actions and how wrong the Voice is, but it will be a nagging thought in the back of his head. Though, if this was a trick to turn people away from finding it... well, that won't be easy.
Now the voice was speaking to her, she could feel it's tiredness. She frowned at it's desires. Well, all she wanted was to travel space, and looked what happened to that idea.
As to what she's gain? to smack the voice right in the facem that was what she would gain.

A few more steps up the stairs and Moriko still felt as if she was no closer to the top of the tower than she had been before. How many more steps were there? She couldn't say, although it looked like the third level might be getting closer. At least she certainly hoped that it was.
