Jonathan watched the galleon in the distance like a hawk with his spyglass. "Not a good position to be in," he says in a soft tone to himself. And he was right. Both ships were of equal power, and neither had the advantage. A smaller ship could out maneuver the enemy, or a larger ship could out-gun the enemy, but this was a time when both ships were on equal ground. Jonathan heard the footsteps of the now-ornery captain behind him. "Your orders, Katherine?" he inquired, trying to formulate a hundred different plans and contingencies in his head at the same time.

"That's Captain to you, Graves. We'll swing wide of her and try to come about close enough to get at least one broadside in. It should be easy to confuse her crew in this mist." And our crew too, Katherine added mentally. She was well aware that Jonathan would have plenty of objections to her plan, many of which would be perfectly justified, so Katherine hurried away from him without waiting for a reply.

As the god-cursed ship faded from view, Katherine clung to the splintered rail of the Dementia with her good arm. The battle had gone badly, though she was mildly surprised at how fiercly her own crew had fought against the demonic creatures. It had been a risky choice from the start, though the ships seemed evenly balanced. It was the hideous things that manned the other ship that really tipped the scales, for who could fight against such hell spawn and not lose his nerve?

Recalling her own failings, Katherine eyed the spreading bloodstain on her sleeve, a darker blotch against the red. She looked about for a surgeon, taking a minute to realize they had none at the moment. Katherine cursed herself loudly and started towards her cabin to clean the wound herself.

Holding her side, Alexandra slowly makes her way toward her hidey hole so she could lick her wounds (not literally) and recover from her first battle. She glances around and could see that she wasn't only one who got injured in the battle. A slash across her side toward her stomach throbs angrily and blood slowly oozes out of the wound, she yanks the shirt from the dead cursed pirate and spat on it. "Demon..." She hisses as she presses the cloth against her wound.

Jonathan stood against the main mast, bandaging his arm. As Katherine walked past toward her cabin, the Tactician just locked his eyes on her in a cold and deathly stare. He knew that this was her fault. He knew that if she had bothered to take heed of his advice, or even the fact that this was his JOB, this whole fiasco would have been avoided. His deathly glare hits harder than any words he might speak, and he knew it.

Huffing slightly, Shun glared at the ship that sailed off into the distance. Those things they had just fought against were insane; not just in the way they appeared, but in the way they fought as well. Grumbling at their loss, he turned about and winced slightly before clutching his side a bit. The cloth surrounding the wound was moist with blood, but it shouldn't be anything too bad.

It was definitely going to bother him for some time though, and he was going to need to clean it up fairly soon, unless he wanted to end up getting infected or something like that.

Disgruntled with this whole situation, he just made his way over by the mast and stood against it for now.

Alexandra sighs as she is done with tending to her wound, she knows that there is some others that will probably need some help. Her eyes slowly lands on a small pile of cloth scraps she have been idly collecting over the time. "Hmm..." She swiftly takes 3 long pieces of cloth rags and walks upstairs, for some reason she makes beeline toward Jonathan. "Do you need any help, Jo...I mean Graves?" She murmurs softly as she holds up a long thin cloth strip.

Rabbit untied the red scarf from around his neck with shaking fingers, which left his rope scar bare to view, but it was of less current mind than the long gash on his arm from one of the beast-men. It wasn't as deep as it could have been, given the circumstances, but it was deep enough, and it hurt.
What WERE those things? He shot a look to the corpses still littering the deck, hoping that they'd be disposed of soon....somehow, and still remembering how it had felt to dig his knife into the one that had gashed him.
The thought makes his stomach flipflop emptily, and he shuts his eyes breifly against the urge to run to the side and try and heave up the nothing in his stomach.
Was all of the sea full of such horrible abominations?

Jonathan sighed to himself as Katherine went into her cabin. "No, it's only a flesh wound," he replied to Alexandra, shaking his head. "If you could, please check up on the other crew and see if they have any wounds that needs tending. The captain obviously has no regard for our welfare." Already, the seeds of dissent were being sown within the officer.

Alexandra nods gently as she smiles faintly at Jonathan. "I will do that, Jonathan. I am glad you are ok..." She peeks at him curiously before she turns her head toward Rabbit. She could see that he have long gash on his arm, she pads over to him. "Hi.. do you need help with that wound..?" She says in uncertain voice as she holds up a strip of the cloth but her eyes catches the rope scar around his neck. Her eyes widens in shock but she manages to regain her composure as she moves her eyes toward Rabbit's eyes.

Shun glanced around the deck for something he could use as a makeshift bandage. There wasn't much he could do for the wound by his ribs right now, but he could at least wrap up the cut he had on his left forearm. From what he could tell, there really wasn't anything nearby that was really usable.

Muttering to himself again, he just figured he'd take care of his injuries when he was in the cabins later on.

Looking up and about, he just did a quick examination of the others on the deck from where he stood to see how badly they were hurt. As far as he was concerned, they were all fine for the most part, with wounds similar to his own. He supposed then that they hadn't really lost too badly.

Just as Katherine reached her good arm towards her cabin door to open it, a large splinter of wood fell from the rigging and narrowly missed smashing into the captain's skull. Startled, Katherine stepped back and squinted up into the tangle of rope and canvas that marked the splinter's passage. She cursed as she surveyed the extent of the damage, it seemed as though a stray cannonball had found its way into the mainmast and knocked at least half a yardarm off.

Katherine glanced around and noticed that similar small incidents had left the Dementia looking at battered as her crew.
It wasn't crippling, but the ship would need repairs as soon as possible if she were to be able to sail at top speed, a vital ability for any pirate ship. Sighing, the captain turned to her crew and tried to keep the stinging pain in her arm from her voice.

"Get it together, you worthless scum monkeys. Thanks to your exquisite skills in battle, we'll be hauling our sorry arses right back to Olvidada. Raise the sails as best you can and get us moving, now!"

Katherine knew that it probably wasn't the best way to handle a crew that had recently been injured in a battle they should never have fought in, but she simply didn't know any other way to govern them.

Frowning at the orders the captain had just barked out, Shun practially snarled lowly before pushing himself away from the mast. A small wince escaped his lips from the sudden movement, but there wasn't much he could do about that right now. It Seemed like he would have to lick his wounds later on after all.

With those freaks as the enemy, it's not a surprise we lost in the first place..

Still lightly holding onto his side wound, he just went on to bitterly help get the Dementia to turn around and head back to the island. With his left arm injured, he tried to minimalise its use and work more with his right.

And right when I thought I was going to get away from that damned island...

Alexandra was about to head over to Shun when she hears the captain barking out the orders, she refrains from shooting the captain a disdainful and cold glare since it was her that almost got everybody on this ship killed. She cracks her neck as she purposely marches over to Shun. "Here is a bandage, wrap yourself up with it." She says as she hands Shun a strip of the bandage. She pauses and smiles wryly at Shun. "Don't worry, its not poisoned." She teases lightly.
