Sere gave a nod to the taller blond woman, whom seemed very kind. It gave Sere a sense of relief. She really didn't need anyone yelling at her right now. Besides that it would probably end up adding to her anger and that would cause her doing something stupid. Before she could give a thank you to the woman, she was interupted by Keegan being brought forth for some sort of interview. Serenity quickly ducked behind some of the other people, but kept an eye on the red head. 'That seemed a bit...strange...' She thought. There was a fleating thought of following the red head, just to make sure that things were what they seemed, but the crowd of people made that impossible.

"I am never going to be able to last on this god damn trip." Sere cursed. There were just too many people for her to handle. "This was a bad idea." The sound of the horn went, telling the girl that any thoughts she had of turning around and running away from the croud were too late. The ship was starting to depart. 'Well I guess I am stuck now.'

She tried to get a visual on the boat, to see if there was any place at all that wasn't crowded with people. The upper decks looked as though they had even more people, so that was a no go. The main deck was probably the most crowded. The only thing she could think of was taking her self down into the inner rooms of the boats. 'There has to be a place somewhere that I can hide.' Sere made her wait to the centre of the deck where all the doors to the inside rooms were and started to open any door that wasn't locked. 'Probably breaking some sort of rule but I have to get out of here.'

The first three doors were bathrooms. One of the older men was a little too impressed to see that she had chosen to open that door. Sere quickly shut it, but was not desturbed enough to quit. She was on a mission to get the hell out of this crowd. Behind the last door on the main floor she heard screaming and then laughing. She recognized one of the voices, but backed away from the door with out even testing the handle. She had gotten her self into enough trouble in the last few days. 'Next!'

Mitsu's cheeks were once again tinted pink as he pulled her into a hug. She had to admit though, it wasn't leaving her so flustered anymore. The slow salt breeze blew past them as the boat began to embark on it, hopefully short, journey. Breathing in the sea air made her smile, like it always did. There was just something about it that reminded her of home and how much she'd always loved it. Home is Mossdeep, even if I wasn't born there, she though with a sorrowful smile. Haha, who would have thought I'd actually be homesick? Looking past Kilik, her eyes fell onto the rippling blue mass before them, half morphing into the sky and the other a murky sea. A quiet pleasure had always seemed to associate itself with nature and what better an occupation to take than a Trainer to enjoy it. Casting her purple orbs from panoramic view, she placed them back onto to boy before her. She moved next to him, near the railing, and stood a bit closer to him than she normally would have.

Silently she wondered to herself where all her friends had disappeared off to. She had gotten on the boat so early that she had missed the appearance of her companions. Kasiya was going, and so was Dante and Robin. Mitsu was sure that there were more people coming, but she couldn't be bothered to recall their names at the moment.

No sooner had her mind attached itself to the subject had she spotted a familiar head of pink hair. It was Sasha! Mitsu hadn't actually talked to the girl at the Beach Party, or at least what she could remember of that horrid event. In fact, she could hardly remember the last time she'd seen the girl, more or less talk with her. Next to her was Kasiya, a person Mitsu counted on being there. Of course Kasiya would be there, she wasn't the kind of girl who'd pass up an opportunity to have a new adventure. Both were already sporting their swimwear, and something could only tell Mitsu that it had been Sasha's doing. Waving her hand the purple headed girl tried to flag the two trainers down. "Hey Kasiya! Sasha!" she called out, a smile on her face.

"Bumpbumpbumpbumpbump," Mia muttered happily, accelerating the pronunciation in the middle of her one-breath attempt at onomatopoeia. She was, of course, mimicking the bumps of the train. However, quickly bored with that, she grabbed hold of the table before her, gripping it firmly with both hands. Mia shook it back and forth, simulating a miniature earthquake. The glasses rattled quietly amongst themselves, making a subtle clicking noise as they bashed into one another. "AHHHhhhhHHHhhhhHHH! Earthquake!" She screamed throwing her head back before snapping it back into place, focusing her attention back onto the little brown table and the tray of glass cups. Minutely, she snapped her head to the left.

"What?" she spat out, glaring at a couple of kids who were looking at her like she was some sort of psycho that belonged in the wacky house. She narrowed her eyes menacing, causing the children to shrink back in fear. "Juuuuuuust kidding!" Mia laughed. "Wanna play?" she waved an arm over to them, inviting them into her booth. An out burst of "Yaaaaaay" followed suit and soon two kids, one girl and one boy, piled into her little section of the train. Pulling out their little Pokemon figurines from their pockets they soon began to play on the table, laughing and smiling with the older girl.

"That girl needs to learn how to act her age!" one woman, presumably the children's parent, noted with disapproval.

"Nonsense!" the elderly woman next to her replied, "Only a child who has been through much and learned much could act as she does. Teenagers these days are too busy pretending to be someone they are not! They could learn a thing or two from this girl!" She finished, nodding her head in a sort of final and approving way.

Sam was silent as she rethought her strategy. Obviously the girl loved to think out of the box. Devlin stood eyeing the Aipom warily. Both were breathing heavily, as they circled slowly.

"Devlin, use Peck..." Sam ventured uncertainly. Devlin caught his trainer's feeling, and hopped forward, hesitating only slightly. The other trainer noticed.

"DoubleSlap! Quickly now!" The Aipom did a quick front handspring, slapping his tail in Devlin's face as he flipped, then again as he landed on Devlin's other side. Devlin spun quickly, but the Aipom repeated the manuver, avoiding Devlin's jabs. Devlin was so disoriented by the Aipom's acrobatics.

"Devlin, fly up and calm down!" Sam knew she was risking the Aipom attacking Devlin again in the sky, but Devlin would not accomplish anything on the ground. Devlin took off tiredly, hovering only 5 feet above the ground, but still out of the Aipom's reach...for now. The girl glanced at her Aipom.

"Aiden, you think you reach that?" The Aipom chuckled, then jumped up, using his tail as an extra boost. The Aipom reached, but fell only a few inches short. He fell to the ground, completely uncoordinated now from overreaching. He bounced back up, but was unsteady on his feet. The girl frowned. For all of Aiden's exuberance, he didn't have the stamina quite required. Devlin flapped his wings, but he was also extremely tired. Sam watched him glide to the roof. Devlin landed solidly on his feet, but hung his head in fatigue. "Aiden, climb the ladder!" His trainer knew he didn't have the energy for fancy acrobatics. Aiden dragged himself up the ladder. He pulled himself over the ledge, and onto his feet, swaying drunkenly. Neither trainer wanted to admit defeat just yet, but both their pokemon could barely stand. The next hit would decide the match. The two girls made eye contact, and in a split second both screamed orders.

"Aiden, DoubleSlap!"

"Devlin, Drill Peck!" Devlin's beak glowed, and spun crazily. He prepped himself, and flew forward. The Aipom ducked, but Devlin caught his tail, and pulled him over the edge. They both divebombed to the deck, Devlin pulling out at the last possible second. Aiden panted with effort, but could not even stand. Devlin landed on his face, but struggled up, taking a few steps. The girl recalled her Aipom.

"I think it's clear who the winner is. Wow, that was great! It seems we both have wonderful new additions to our team! Your Murkrow is a tough one, he wouldn't give up." Sam recalled Devlin as he tripped over himself.

"Thanks for that, it sure was close. Your strategy was out of the box, and your Aipom trusted you. Do you want to keep battling?" The girl stared at the approaching city.

"How about as soon as we disembark? It looks like Olivine is coming up fast."

"Sounds good to me. Meet me by the Lighthouse after we get our pokemon healed okay?"

"I'll see you there."

============

"Hola Grandfather, Grandmother." Eztli stepped forward, and bowed respectfully. Eztli had a strange mishmash of cultural ideas, resulting in her Spanish greeting, and Japanese-style bow. Her grandmother walked towards her , and hugged her tightly. Eztli instantly felt truly at home, for the first time since she was little. She didn't even remember her grandparents, she wasn't even sure if she had ever met them, but she knew at least she had a grandmother that loved her unconditionally. Mixcoatl stood behind her, made of stone. Eztli's grandfather jerked his chin upwards in acknowledgement, but remained her he was. The cold disappointment couldn't have been more plain in his expression.

"Oh Eztli, we had hoped you would visit! We didn't realize you would take so long! Oh we are so sorry we left you in Azalea! Lo siento mija, pero...the trouble that has befallen us..." Her grandmother sighed deeply. She led Eztli to a chair next to hers, and motioned for Mixcoatl to take the one next to that. Eztli sat straight in her chair, her grandmother's calming presence doing nothing to lighten the opressive mood her grandfather was giving off. Even Mixcoatl was distant. "Eztli, we want tohear about your life since Mixcoatl left, he has filled us in of his time in Azalea obviously, but we expected you to come as soon as you were 10, of age to start a Pokemon journey. Why now? You did start your journey I see" Eztli looked down at Zolin who was staring plaintively at Eztli's lap. Eztli hadn't even realized she had set him down. She let him clamber onto her lap, but he didn't relax, staying wary.

"Oh, this is Zolin. He's not actually my first pokemon. I would show you Xipil, but...I'm afraid she would burn your house down. She's a pyro..." Her grandmother waved her hand away.

"It's okay, I'm sure we can handle her. Go ahead, I want to see her." Eztli took out Xipil's pokeball hesitantly, and released her. The little Magby coughed up a few flames, but she somehow realized she needed to tone herself down. Eztli placed Zolin on the table, and placed Xipil on her lap, so as not to incinerate the table.

"Well, when Mixcoatl left, I only knew he had gotten a letter from Dad. And then he just disappeared." Her grandmother stared in horror.

"Oh dear! Mixcoatl, how could you?! You were supposed to tell her! You abandoned your sister with some odd people in a foreign town!" She stood and grabbed his ear. "Mixcoatl, you are in so much trou-"

"Grandmother, I am not a child. Forgive me for being a bit shocked by the letter and not thinking clearly," he said coldly. She released his ear, and quickly stood back, looking as if he had slapped her.

"So, when I turned 10, I received Xipil. Trust me, I had every intent of coming here at that time, and the people at the kiln encouraged me. But then I...accidentally set fire to the Ilex Forest. It grew out of control. I had to spend those years trying to repair the damage I caused. Now that it's been healed, I'm trying to catch up to everything that has happened. Why did you leave Mix?" Mix stared down at the floor. Eztli's abuela took Eztli by the arm, and took her to another, smaller room with a comfortable couch. Zolin and Xipil trailed behing.

"Now mija, just give Mix a moment. He is a bit stunned right now. You should just stay here awhile, get some hot soup and bread. Mix will tell you the details when he's ready. I will tell you this, he didn't want to leave you. He made a mistake, and now he feels terribly guilty." She kissed Eztli's forehead. She turned to leave. "You can explore if you want. You may find out some of your past. Feel free to raid the refridgerator."

"Grandma, why do Grandfather and Mix seem to dislike me?"

"Well...Mix is just in a bad state. He's happy to see you really. Your grandfather...well...he..." She sighed. "He just thinks you're trouble, forgive me for putting it so bluntly." Eztli bit her lip, but smiled.

"Gracias Grandma. I think I'll take a quick nap."

"Well, you don't need to worry about me, Jaden," Riza said after a moment or so. "I'm a big girl now and I can take care of myself. She was starting to regret telling him all this in the first place as she knew how overprotective he could be at times. After adjusting Eris again she finally put the Cyndaquil back into her ball.

Jaden chuckled at his sister's sudden attitude change, and he sighed. He knew that no matter what he said to Riza she wouldn't budge on the matter even if deep down somewhere she knew he was right. "Okay, fine," he said with a sigh. "It sounds like you do like this guy, despite everything that's happened and I know I can't change your mind. I want you to be careful though, Rizzy. You may be a trainer now and capable of taking care of yourself but you're still my little sister and I'm always going to worry about you and what sort of trouble you might be getting yourself into."

Riza sighed and closed her eyes. It was hard to be annoyed at Jaden even though sometimes she felt like he was smothering her. But then again since their parents were always so busy trying to outdo one another it was nice to have Jaden as comfort. "I'm sorry," she said after a moment or two of silence. "The last few days have been pretty rough. Sometimes I'm not sure if they even happened. I didn't know being a trainer could be so dangerous." She closed her eyes, and all at once she could see the horrible purple snake lunging at her, and Crenu standing protectively in the way...

"It can be, especially when you hang around with the kind of people who seem to find trouble quite easily," Jaden said. He paused for a moment before continuing. "Do you want me to come get you? We could go for a ride on my Pidgeot and just escape for a bit. It would help you clear your head."

"No, thank you," Riza said, shaking her head even if Jaden couldn't see it. "I just needed to get some of that off my chest. I'll keep that in mind though, it was fun riding on him before," she said, remembering how he'd brought her from Mahogany to Olivine so she could take the ferry all the way to Slateport. "I'm going to get back in the gym. Hopefully I can see how Crenu's match ends. I'll call you later, Jaden. Thanks for everything," she said before hanging up the phone. She felt a lot better after talking to her brother and she quickly ran back inside. "Hey guys," she said breathlessly as she sat back down in her seat next to Ken. "Did I miss anything?"

Upon seeing how angry Cranidos and all his clones were getting Genki let out a happy laugh and clapped his hands. It was always fun to taunt them into being reckless and judging by Roark's next command it had seemingly worked. He ignored the sands as they tore into him but he could see that the sandstorm was already starting to die down and would do so completely in the next round or so, and Cranidos would be unable to summon another one for a while.

"Genki, try to evade! Use your tail!" Katie called. She didn't want the take down to land even though she knew it would severely wound Cranidos in the process, and besides that if Genki were to take that hit there was a good chance the sandstorm would chip away his remaining health just like it had done to Seraphim. Not only that but Cranidos was still paralyzed and though it hadn't stopped him yet his luck could only hold out so long.

The Monferno crouched low to the ground, taking on a defensive stance as the headbutt Pokemon raced towards him, his clones in tow. Genki wasn't completely sure but it was only logical to assume that the one heading straight for him was the real Cranidos. Using his strong legs and arms he spun out of the way of the charging Pokemon and used his momentum to swing out his tail. With any luck he'd trip up the paralyzed rock-type and give him and Katie time to think of their next move.

Unfortunately for Roark and his Cranidos luck did not seem to be on their side and when there attack missed Genki's tail did trip them up and wouldn't you know paralysis kicked in just at that moment trapping the ancient pokemon. The sandstorm also chose that moment to pretty much end and so they didn't even really have that to back them up. In fact the only good thing that happened from that mess is that all the clones fell down around him to so it was still a sort of guessing game.

Groaning Roark ran a gloved hand through his now sandy hair and adjusted his glasses as he looked out at his pokemon. 'Great just great.' He thought to himself as he tried to think of something they could do. Cranidos could only attack right now because of the taunt so they couldn't summon up another sandstorm. His pokemon was also paralyzed against a pokemon that looked to be stronger then it and had a type advantage. Oh no he wasn't boned, he wasn't boned in the least. "Cranidos I know you can't move right now but just try to get yourself back up onto your feet." Roark ordered, that was really all they could do right now anyway.

~~~~~~~~
The judge on the side of the battle arena figured it was time to start. "All right, this is going to be a four on four pokemon battle with the young pokemon starting first. On the count of three the match is going to start!"
"I hope your ready to lose." Robin said with a confident grin on her face as she fingered Black*Stars pokeball.
"One."
"Oh I am not going down that easily, you are gunna have a date with me pretty Robin. John countered fingering his own pokeball.
"Two."
Both of them were waiting charged up and ready to win waiting only on the announcer to signal the start of the battle.
"Three, match start!"
The announcer had barely finished the three before pokeballs went flying from each side.
On Robin's side Black*Star popped out of his pokeball with a large splash of water and his arms crossed over his chest in an impressive display. Now that she thought of it Black*Star would really be good in contests since he loved being in the center of attention so much and he just thought of these things on his own.
On Johns side of the playing field a tough looking Machop appeared flexing his muscles as he looked out at his playing field.
Each of the pokemon stared each other down Black*Stars red eyes locking on the Machops black ones. They might be young but this was gunna be one heck of a fight!
"Black*Star let's start building up your Speed*Star!" Robin ordered remembering the name that Black*Star had picked out for his Dragon Dance.
"Machop let's knock them off their feet with your Low Kick!"
The Machop nodded before dashing forward towards the Totodile that was standing still staring him down. Just at the last moment a glow hit the Totodile and it lept out of the way it's speed was pretty impressive for its size and type of pokemon.
"I can see it isn't going to be so easy to land a blow on your Totodile. People don't usually use Totodile for its dodging though, yours must not be strong enough to land a blow." John taunted from his end of the arena hoping to lure Robin out into an attack.
John was right about his earlier though of Robin not being to smart. The redhead fell for that hook line and sinker. Black*Star and Luffy did not help her case by falling for it to each of them protesting. "Black*Star is plenty strong! Let's show them how strong you are! Use your Rage Black*Star!" Robin ordered proud of herself as she watched her pokemon. She would show John just how strong Black*Star was. Black*Star charged forward ready to show that stupid trainer and his dumb pokemon just how strong he was. Just as he was getting ready to attack though the Machop simply stuck out his foot and tripped the charging Totodile.
Train bid farewell to Callum, hoping she’d see the green-haired trainer around again sometime, then moved to the desk and took her PokèBalls from the tray waiting there. Pikachu leapt straight from the counter and onto her shoulder, causing the teenager to give a small smile and nuzzle the Pokèmon lightly. She exited the Pokèmon Center and headed straight for the large gym that was home to Kanto’s Rock-type gym leader.
The girl pushed open the doors lightly and peeked inside before slipping into the building, calling out,
”Hello?” before taking a few cautious steps forward. It was kind of dark in here and it creeped her out.
At some point early in the morning, Leon finally managed to pull Lily away from the party and off to the Pokèmon Center to retrieve Banana’s PokèBall. Now sporting a hyperactive, level 1 Gastly, he did the smart thing and went right back to the beginning, Route 101, right outside of Littleroot. He lazily waved good-bye to his mother as she set off on her Tropius, and turned to look at the tall grass in front of him.
Leon scoffed and took a few steps forward so that he was in the grass, pushing some aside as Muuma floated over his head and peered into said grass, trying to help spot a Pokèmon. Yup, rather than trying to just get to the next town/city and mowing down everything in his path, Leon was actually looking for a Pokèmon to train against, since he knew that Ghos obviously wouldn’t be all that helpful right now, being the lowest possible level and all.
Kasiya smiled at Sasha as the older girl sat her down and began her work, having understood the last bit of French quite well. Why couldn't I have a big sister like Sasha? she thought, doing her best to hold perfectly still as Sasha made the purple tones on her shoulder disappear. She relaxed a bit and pushed all her stressful thoughts out of her mind. It felt quite nice to be taken care of, and she closed her eyes when Sasha began to run the brush through her hair, answering each of Sasha's questions the best she could, as it helped the time to pass a little quicker. When they were finished Kasiya almost couldn't believe the difference. She twirled around, for once admiring herself in the mirror while Sasha got herself ready, and for a moment she almost missed her hair being as long as it once was. It was only fleeting, however, as had it still been that insane length as before they would have been there for hours.
Once they were all presentable Kasiya couldn't help but giggle along as Sasha's mood was quite infectious, though her attempts at posing were significantly clumsier, seeing as she'd had no training. It was all in good fun though and soon the two were heading back out onto the deck and it was safe to say that Kasiya was feeling much better about herself. She did hear her name, at one point, and she looked over to see Mitsu waving at them. "Heya Mitsu! Kilik!" she called, ecstatic to see that her two friends had made it on board. "Come join us!" she called, though in the distance she thought she saw yet another familiar person. It's Serenity, she thought, wondering if she should go and say hello to her newest friend as she wasn't sure if Sere had been annoyed by her and Keegan's intense bickering from the other night. "Excuse me a minute, Sasha," she said, reluctantly letting go of her friend's hand. "I'm gonna go say hi to someone, but I'll be back in a minute, okay?"
She pushed her way through the crowd, keeping the smaller girl just in her sights. "Serenity!" she called somewhat breathlessly. "Wait up!"
"Oh, don't worry about the redhead," Mai said earnestly, nodding. "One of my associates was bringing him some Gravol to help him rest. He should be able to rest just fine." It seemed that many of the passengers had spread out now that the ship was en route to Sinnoh, leaving a lot more elbow room on deck than before. "That's very kind of you," she said, pretending to be flattered by the comment. "You needn't be shy around me, young man," she said, winking at Roy. "I don't bite." The cameraman began filming as Eraku introduced himself and his Pidgey, as well as his less-than-articulate friend. "Oh, where are my manners? I'm Maria Tenney of JNN- the Johto News Network. I've only just been promoted and this is my first major assignment," she said brightly, gesturing towards the entire ship, but she stopped and looked back at Eraku again. "Did you say Uncle Blaine?" she asked curiously. "Blaine as in the Leader of the Pokemon Gym on Cinnabar Island, Blaine? How exciting!"
"Mud Bomb! Now that's a new one," Surge laughed loudly as he watched Raichu attempt to dodge the blobs of muck that had been fired at him. He avoided the first two quite easily but the third was another story and Raichu let out a disgusted and pained groan as his stomach became covered in a layer of thick, cool mud. It didn't hurt as much as some of the other Ground-type attacks he'd suffered in the past and he was still raring to go. He growled loudly while sending a shower of sparks to the ground as he tried to shake off the mud - he was gonna need a bath after this battle!
"Use Mega Punch again, Raichu! Sock it to 'em!" Surge called out, looking at the usually clean and polished floor of his gym in disgust - someone was gonna have to clean that up later, and it wasn't gonna be him, either. Still growling, the tawny mouse reared back his fist and rushed forward once more, eager to send the brown fuzzball flying as retribution for getting him all dirty.
Serenity kept trying doors, hope that one of them would lead to some place safe. She was kind of surprised that she was able to get away with it, with so many people around.
As she reached door number, oh, 25 or she thought she heard a familiar voice calling her name. She turned and looked into the crowd of people but there was so many that she couldn't really tell them appart. Sere turned back to what she was doing when she heard the voice again. This time when she turned she could clearly see a familiar face running towards her.
"Kasiya?" She saw the familiar blond make her way through the crowd of people.
"No not much dear, Crenu learned a new move though. Hehehe, more like Swinub taught it to him." Kenneth replied with a smile as he looked at Riza. She hadn't been out for long but she seemed to have been gone long enough to clear her head a bit, she looked a little better than before actually. "I trust everything's alright? Hope I didn't cause you unease with my words, guess this isn't really the time or place. There is an exciting match going on, neither Swinub nor Raichu are giving up and neither are their trainers. But Raichu's got so much more power at its disposal I'm a bit worried that Swinub won't be able to do enough damage at this rate." Looking back at the battle field he watched in angst as Raichu came at the Pig Pokemon again with another crushing Mega Punch, but he knew Crenu would think of something. Without taking his eyes from the battle he spoke again, still smiling. "If you ever want to know something about Crenu, feel free to ask me hon. Unless you think you can pry the answer out of him instead, heh heh heh." This was ok for now, no need to overwhelm her with information if she didn't want it. Besides, maybe he was wrong about the whole thing and they would be fine.
Mega Punch again, it seemed that Surge's physical move pool with Raichu was limited, but he couldn't rule out the possibility that they had another move they were saving in case of a tight spot. Maybe they had some special moves. But with no effective counter there still wasn't much Swinub could do right now, he was going to have to risk a full hit. Mud Bomb looked like a special attack so it wasn't playing on Swinub's strengths, but it looked a lot stronger than Mud Slap and was definitely a ground type move. So even still it should balance out and do some damage, more so than his other attacks anyway. "Mud Bomb again, don't hold anything back Swinub." The fuzzy brown pokemon nodded and knew what he was giving up by straight attacking like this. But if Crenu had faith in this plan than so would he, Ken traded him to this guy for a reason. Swinub collected all the mud he could in his throat and condensed it as best he could, firing off four large mud balls directly at Raichu once the electric mouse was point blank, suddenly feeling a large blunt force as Raichu's fist slammed into him and sent him tumbling back. Swinub lay belly up on the ground by Crenu's feet, rolling over back on all fours with great difficulty. That one really hurt...Swinub was nearly through.
At first there was no reply, just the echo of the young female trainer's voice in the dark gym. But suddenly there was the loud sound of a switch turning as the lights directly above her head turned on, illuminating only the first half of the gym. "Hello. And who are you, why have you paid visit to the Pewter City gym?" A voice called out from the dark half of the gym. "mm...could it be that you are a challenger here in hopes of earning yourself the Boulder Badge? Hmm...Your Pikachu is cute, looks to be rather happy and healthy. I'm glad to see you've raised it well, but no matter how well you've raised it your Pikachu doesn't stand a chance in my gym." The rest of the lights turned on and revealed Brock standing arms crossed in the middle of the battle field, though he worse a faint smile.
Kilik was jolted slightly when the ship started to move. His hands tensed on the bar of the deck so tightly that his knuckles turned white. He was fine after a moment, but the boat's sudden movement made him jump. When Mitsu called out two names that he recognized, he turned his head and nearly melted. Jesus! he thought, putting his back against the railing. They both looked very attractive, and his heart was pounding in his throat. However, he cleared the thought from his head and smiled over at Mitsu. After all, she was his girlfriend. Then Kasiya said for them to 'join' them. Probably going to do something girly. Like...sunbathe. He laughed slightly to himself. "Say, Mittens," Kilik said, looking over at the purple haired girl, "I'm gonna head down. I hear there's an arena somewhere on the ship. Can't hurt to get a little training in before we hit land in Sinnoh." He leaned over and planted a small kiss on her cheek and slipped away.
And if there's an arena, he thought, slipping his hands into his pockets, there's bound to be a Pokemon Center-esque area. Or maybe there's a healing machine in each bedroom. I dunno. Oh, Master. Always wanting to battle! It's not that he was a brute, but he always appeared to want to better himself. She closed her eyes and cuddled up against him. "E-excuse me," Kilik flagged down a man who worked on the ship. "Where's the arena at?" The man pointed down the hall to some stairs and explained he'd have to head down a few flights before getting there. Kilik nodded and headed that way, hands in his pockets.
"Didn't Dad say his room was on the...fourth floor? If this is two, then..." he scratched his head. "Whatever. I could always call him." He went down a few flights and overheard some kids talking about the first battle going on in the arena. He raised an eyebrow, and started to follow them. Perhaps they would lead him there! After a few minutes, he found that his hunch was right. The arena was roughly the size of a regulation Pokemon Gym - the floor was flat, with no obstacles. It reminded him greatly of the Viridian City Gym. He scratched his nose. On the field were a Totodile and a Machop. "That girl..." he whispered to himself. "Robin?" he called out, running over to the sidelines, opposite the referee. He assumed that the Totodile (who had just tripped) was hers. Treecko woke up when her trainer spoke loudly. Oh, dear! Looks like he had found it. And that Totodile! Wow! "Robin, don't wear yourself out! Treecko and I wanna battle that Totodile of yours! Got it?" he laughed, clapping. Hey! Speak for yourself! Then again, she did want to impress Master...she suddenly began to blush and put her face in her hands, shaking her head. But perhaps she could beat that Totodile! It couldn't be much stronger than her, right? Plus, she had a...what did Master call it? A 'type-advantage'? Yeah! That was it! She felt deep down that she could beat that Totodile with ease! Kilik kicked back, ready to enjoy the battle that was unfolding in front of him.
Seeing Black*Star crash down onto the ground Robin winced a bit but she knew her tough as nails and egocentric pokemon would be all right. Just as she was about to call out her next orders she heard a familiar voice. Glancing around she spotted the other with a green pokemon she wasn't familiar with on his shoulder. "Hey Kilik!" She called back waving excitedly at him. At her side Luffy recognized the other from really early on in their journey and jumped up excitedly to standing on both of his tails and waving his arms around. OK as much as she would like to catch up with her friend she was in the middle of a pokemon match, Black*Star could battle his green Treeko(?) later. Focusing her attention on the battle she saw that Black*Star had gotten up and was practically blowing steam out of his nostrils. "Hey Black*Star its all right! I know you are way tougher then that Machop! Let's give them a mark that will last! Show them your Speed Star Scratch!"
Speed Star Scratch? Yeah that would certainly show them how much more awesome he was then this dumb Machop! Grinning Black*Star took off he wasn't quite at Speed Star level yet but another boost would get him there. Dashing right past the Machop he turned himself around and lept at the Machop his sharp claws were ready and he managed to land a deep cut across the other young fighting pokemons chest.
On his side of the arena John couldn't help but be impressed. That little Totodile might be dumb as a stump but he was actually pretty good at battle, it seemed to be an instinctive affinity he had for it. That was actually pretty rare for a pokemon to be instinctively and naturally good at those kinds of things. Of course the water starters ego seemed to get in the way. "I hope your okay Machop because we are going on the offensive again! Let's show them your Karate Chop!" His Machop just nodded and touching her chest a little, that cut hurt! She finally nodded and dashed forward charging the small blue pokemon.
"Black*Star lets complete your Speed Star and dodge!" Robin really did not want to see Black*Stars face get smashed in by that Machop!
Black*Star though seemed to have other idea's instead his ego seemed to fade for a moment as he felt something click inside of his head. Black*Star stood his ground instead of activating his Speed Star he started to glow the bright red of his Rage attack. When the Machop came closer and swung her hand down in a Karate Chop Black*Star did his best to catch the attack with one of his arms. The blow hurt, a lot, he wasn't going to deny that but he wasn't going to let that stop him. Now he had that Machop right where he wanted him. Grinning and showing a full row of dangerous looking teeth slamed his head up just as his attack power got boosted from the damage he took while Rage was active.
Robin herself wasn't quite sure what all had happened, it had only been a split second but all she knew was that the two pokemon clashed and before she knew it Black*Star had sent the Machop flying. "Wow, ok, I dunno what you did Black*Star but great job!" At her side Luffy let out an encouraging call towards his Nakama.
Train stood uneasily at the door before jumping slightly at the sound of the lights being switched on, and she glanced around when the gym leader’s voice boomed through the building. Pikachu’s face lit up at the praise, then his ears dropped again as Brock said he couldn’t stand a chance.
”S’okay, Pikachu,” Train said, reaching down and patting her Pokémon on the head, smiling brightly at him. She knew that Pikachu had a type disadvantage and all, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t still be a help. She straightened up and stepped the rest of the way inside the gym, glancing back at the door very briefly as it shut behind her, and then turned to face Brock. ”Yeah, I’m here to challenge you for a badge!” She said, unable to come up with a better response. Bah, she was nervous!
It didn’t take long for Leon to come across a Wurmple inching its way through the grass. Muuma prepared herself to take it out easy and looked to Leon for a command, but was surprised to see him shaking his head slightly and saying, ”You’re not battling this one.” She floated back to her trainer’s side as he took out Ghos’ PokéBall and pressed the button, releasing the Gastly for the time being. The Ghost- and Poison-Type looked around eagerly, spotting the Wurmple and ducking behind some of the grass, preparing himself to give the bug the scaring of its lifetime.
”Ghos, use Lick on it,” Leon commanded quietly but firmly, and the Gastly turned his head to look at his trainer. His face set into a frown and he went back to creeping on the Wurmple, but Leon said firmly again, ”Use Lick attack.” Ghos faced Leon again and was about to protest, but Leon was glaring icily at the Pokémon, scaring the baby a bit (ironic, no?) and getting a fast nod out of him before he moved towards the Wurmple and stuck out his tongue, licking it on the side of its face, to which it squealed in surprise and fell over.
"Ha ha ha, good. Right to the point, well alright then. Let's get started right away." Brock kept his arms crossed as he turned and walked over to his side of the battle field, beckoning the young trainer over when he got there. Another young trainer entered the arena from a passage behind him, holding a red and green flag and an arm band that said 'referee' on it. He would be the official judge of this match, and though he was young he tried to look serious and fierce. "We'll each use two pokemon for this battle, and you'll be allowed to switch if you wish." As Brock spoke, he took out his first pokeball and tossed it out into the field, getting a bit excited as his pokemon took shape out of the white light. There was always a thrill e got from gym challenges, even when he lost. But the pokemon that took form wasn't his usual Geodude, instead Brock decided to use one of his recently obtained pokemon that needed a bit of training. He was still young and wasn't very strong, but that made him perfect for a battle like this. Standing in front of Brock was one of his favorite rock types, none other than the Spikes Pokemon Rhyhorn. Rhyhorn roared happily ready for some excessive and staring down his opponents to be. "I'm Brock, my rock-hard willpower is evident even in my Pokémon! My pokemon are all rock types and have rock solid defenses and determination. Do you still think you can defeat me? Then show me your best!"
"Allright Ledyba, let's show this punk girl what's what, eh?" The man in black stated. "Baaaa!" the Pokemon shouted in agreement. "Hey, hey! Okay! Use your soaring Tackle!" The man shouted rather enthusiastically. His Ledyba responded with equal vigor and buzzed toward Kokoro with impressive speed.
"Well, Kokoro, we've finally got a chance to try out your Ember on a moving target so let that moron have it." Claire commanded. What type of idiot uses a bug type against a fire type? Even at a higher level, they're still pretty much screwed. Unless it's a Scyther or some other strong bug type like that. Kokoro ducked down as the bug flew past with only inches to spare. But the determined Ledyba quickly spun back for another attempt. This time Kokoro was ready and let the bug come in full force. But like an erupting volcano, Kokoro blasted the poor insect with flames as its momentum carried it past the pores on her back.
"Well... not exactly what I meant Kokoro. But a decent strategy none the less. Let's try to hit it without getting nailed next time, Smokescreen." Kokoro nodded and soon the pores on her back were emitting a thick black smoke instead of flames. Meanwhile the Ledyba was frantically flying about to extinguish the lingering flames. "Whoa nelly, that's a bad move, what?" The grunt exclaimed in surprise. "Well, better do something about them flames, use your Light Screen just like we practiced Ledyba!"
The bug nodded and after a bit of concentration it managed to form a golden barrier around its body. The soft light quickly brushed away the lingering heat and the bug type was much more comfortable. "Now let's go in for the Comet Punch, eh?" The man shouted as he pointed to a random spot in the now smokey clearing. "Baaaa!" it shouted again as it valiantly dove into the smoke only to come out empty handed, and flaming, seconds later on the other side. But this time the flames quickly extinquished because of the protecting light screen.
"We've got to do something about that Light Screen. It is really getting in the way." Claire commented. "See if you can rip it off somehow." It was some sort of mental energy barrier, right? Maybe Extrasensory could pry it off sooner than it was supposed to disappear on its own. "Don't wait Ledyba, go back in there and Comet Punch that Cyndaquil!"
It was a lot harder for Kasiya to keep up with Serenity than she thought it would be, as she was pretty quick and able to dodge around the people easier than Kasiya could. It seemed she was trying to find someplace that she could hide away from all the people and Kasiya couldn't really blame her. If she hadn't known anyone on board she would have gone and hid too. It wasn't too long before Serenity realized that Kasiya was calling out to her and she stopped. "Yep, it's me!" she answered brightly. "I'm glad to see you made it on board. Do you want to come and hang out with me and my friend Sasha? I bet Levi would love to play with George again too," she added, hoping to help make the trip a little easier for Serenity to manage. Then again it might not have been the wisest of suggestions as Kasiya wasn't sure how Sasha would react to the tiny blonde after the way she'd 'helped' Kasiya get all dolled up. She was certain Sasha would think Sere was the most adorable thing in the world. Could be good for Sere's confidence too though, Kasiya thought, mulling it over. "So? What do you think?" she asked again, grinning happily.
It was easy for Surge to see that Swinub was quickly tiring, and he knew that if he and Raichu were going to win this and properly defend their gym, then they could not let up on the pressure. "Now follow up with Quick Attack!" The burly gym leader barked. The tawny mouse sprang into action, ducking past several of the balls of mud. He got clobbered by the largest one but it didn't deter him and he continued to rush forward, intent on attacking Swinub again before he could fully recover from taking that last Mega Punch. While the Mud Bombs were far from being the strongest attacks he'd ever been hit by he knew they were wearing him down and that he wouldn't be able to go on forever. He grit his teeth and sped forward, fully intending to throw his all into this attack.
Jaeshan looked over at Riza as she sat back down, minus one Cyndaquil. He figured she had put the small fire mouse back into her Pokeball. "No, you got back with plenty of time to see how the match ends," he told her, nodding. She looked like she had calmed down now as well, and Jaeshan wondered if it was Kenneth's words that had upset her. Even still, if she truly did like Crenu and wanted to be with him like that, then she would have to accept him like he was. There's a lot of that going around all of a sudden, he thought, smiling inwardly. Kassie and Keegan, Crenu and Riza. It must be true what they say about opposites attracting. He leaned back in his seat and watched Raichu dart forward with a Quick Attack, trying to ignore the idle thoughts that tumbled around inside his head.
