Nicky finished cooking her food and placed it on a place she had taken out. She pulled out a fork and then poured herself a glass of water. She took a seat on her couch and began to eat her food as she watched the weather. Nicky ate fast as she always did and then cleaned her dishes. With a sigh when the weather man said it was going storm tomorrow.

"How do you..." He averted his eyes, and if the lighting was just right there might have appeared a bit of red on his cheeks. Maybe it was just cold, or he had a fever. "You know... find the right person?" He glanced back at Edward and then glanced away, sighing softly under his breath.

"You have to remember Douglas; I end up doing and finding people by chance. I wasn't looking for Demetria, but found her anyway." He said, glancing down at Douglas, he really was just like a little kid, maybe even more so then Edward was. Next vampire party like gathering they had, he was going to suggest an outrageous game of truth or dare, just for the heck of it. And where were they going? Everything looked the same to him; at least back home they had identifiable tapestries hanging on the bleak, blank stone walls, "You need to stop hiding in you're little mansion and get out some time. There really are a bunch of people who are looking for vampires, those with good indentions other then killing us of course. And they're numbers have been growing ever since a few of the new laws have been passed. The humans are starting to see that not all of us are bad." He said, ending with a smile. It gave him hope that sooner or later he could get rid of the hunter base he had right next door to him back in Cheydinhal, they got annoying after only so many years.

He mumbled something about how he didn't need to leave the mansion. He continued on about how he had an eternity to find them, looking away and speaking to himself more than Edward. Maybe he was just making excuses because in the nearly 70 years he had lived he had never had any contact with a girl besides in fights. "Maybe," was all he said, coughing quietly into his hand.

Edward rolled his eyes, why was everyone so stubborn? "I know you're not a social butterfly like I may be, but you have to get out, you can't deny that." Edward retorted. Ok, seriously, where were they?! And hadn't they passed this wall once before? Hmmm. Edward stopped walking to look around them; it hadn't felt like they had been walking in circles. He shrugged it off though and continued walking. "If you can believe it last summer I almost got a tan! Well, a sun burn, but everyone noticed. It was marvelous." Way to go Edward, that was completely off topic wasn't it?

"How did you manage to do that without frying?" He glanced over at Edward, intent on listening. His first guess would be something ridiculous like sunblock."I guess I could try..." He mumbled something about how he had books to read, but could fit time in occassionally. Douglas silently wondered to himself why he hadn't even TRIED in 60-some-odd years. It was ridiculous that he'd stayed cooped up in his house and studied. Not studied for school, mind you, but different things.

Nicky began to feel sad as just leaving a Thank You note bugged her. She went to her room and searched for the cellphone she nevered used, she had for about three years now, and typed a text message. It went slowly as she tried to make a text message. But final she finished and from her memory she sent it to the phone number that vampire, Douglas, had given her. Vampire, I went home. I thank you for caring and all that but, I have to many thing's to do to stay at you lovely home. So if I may. I say Good-Bye for now, because I will not be there when you may get back. Thank you, again. Simply, Nicky E.T. She waited for it to send before putting back in it's hiding place.

Edward shrugged, he had no clue, it had just happened. And he might still be a bit burnt somewhere on his body actually, but he doubted it, he healed to fast for something like that to still be around. "Book's are all well and good, but sooner or later you're going to run out of ones you haven't read already, then where will you be? You'll end up like me, waiting on the next book in the Eclipse series to come out. But it'll never come out because the author's dead." Edward huffed, he still wanted that book! The last one had left him at a cliffhanger! Who in their right mind would die before getting their last book out?! Ok, so, the author died very long ago, and Edward really shouldn't have been soar about it still, but he was!

"I'm sure someone will be able to successfully copy their writing style and finish the series. I mean, it's not like--" He was cut off by a quiet buzzing coming from his pocket. He took his cell phone out and glanced over at Edward. He looked down at the message and mumbled a quiet, "Damn it all to hell." He furrowed his brow in conversation, pushing the buttons in a slow order. The message read only one word: Why?

A cell phone, eh? My, Douglas was so modern! Edward, not so much, he liked the old fashioned way of doing things, they kept things interesting and him busy! Or, other people busy, he really did just about nothing and only watched. He kept himself from looking down at Douglas's text massage, though he did notice how the phone seemed a bit new to him; he typed out that one little word really slowly. Not that Edward had looked . . .

She was about ready to walk ut of the room when her phone played the Nokia ring tone. She went after it. She slowlly typed back. Because I almost lost my job and bills, plus I find it... oh never mind. She sent the message getting frustrated with her old cell phone.

Douglas glanced over at Edward. His eyes gave it away. He was mocking him inside his head! Douglas almost got ready to unsheath the sword and hit Edward with the blunt side when it vibrated again. He let go of the sword, using two thumbs this time. How do you find it? Was what he sent. His fingers typed out the words quickly this time.

Edward couldn't help it and ended up chuckling slightly, he was all too amused, and he looked away from Douglas and back to down the hall in the direction they were heading. He was just having a bit of fun with the tyke, nothing he wouldn't do with Demetria if she was here with him. As a matter of fact, she had been gone for a rather long while. This thought made Edward stop walking again and look back in the direction they had come from. Demetria had wondered off that way but he couldn't tell where she was, because, frankly, Murakai's mansion stunk to high heaven. Not in a bad way, maybe, but he still couldn't tell where she was from scent alone. He frowned; he didn't like not knowing where Demetria was, let alone anyone he knew being somewhere he didn't know about. "Douglas, I say we head back to look for Demetria, she's been gone a rather long time and I don't like it one bit."

Nicky took the cellphone with her and sat down on the couch. The the ring tone sounded again. She sighed hating texting t the moment because she was so slow. She typed again and swaring tomorrow she would get a new cellphone. She started to type... I found it great, fantastic. but then she stopped getting the feeling she was about ready to brake the thing. Plus no one really heard the real voice of the one they talked to right? She pushed her pride away. She dieled his number and waited for him to answer.

"I guess we could." Douglas glanced down at the phone vibrating in his hand and opened it, expecting another text message, but put it to his ear when he realized it was a text. "Hello?" He spoke into the reciever, the covered it with his hand and told Edward, "Walk a lil' bit ahead, will ya?"
