Joe jogged after Sam, silently conversing with Roland.
You heard me. It's not a particularly complicated plan. Mental sigh. Joe grinned. But he doesn't. And if we do this right, it won't matter if he does. Roland actually sounded hurt. Joe sighed. That's not it. I just couldn't risk Legion finding out about this. Don't worry. You just help me out, and we'll be in good shape soon enough. I still have that mana cell, you know. Joe skidded to a stop in the USC courtyard. He looked around, still behind Sam. He closed his eyes and began to gather his energy together.

"I don't think you understand, newcomer," Takeshi irritably berated Ted. "We're not distracting them. He flashed the insides of his jacket, bristling with firearms. "We're going to kill them." He started into the building. "Hurry up, will you? We have to be in position to provide support for Samuel and Joe." He muttered something in Japanese as he went inside.
~~
Gurul insisted, urging Samuel.
Samuel began to give a form to his energy, dragging it out a little to savor the feel of power.
~~
"We don't think his teams are moving any more," Alex the Technician informed them. "Get ready, guys... the s**t is about to hit the fan."

Roland cut into Joe's thoughts. He nearly jumped from the shock. What?!
What? Why? I had Legion charge it so that....oh.
Joe sighed and pulled the mana cell out from under his jacket. He looked at it for a moment, then muttered a word and watched as the energy drained out of it, clearing it of the smoke inside.

Before Joe could question the wisdom of letting Samuel have free reign, four buildings were on fire and Samuel/Gurul was watching the flesh melt off a student's ********, they're hitting the campus of a college, at, uh, USC!" Alex shouted. The graph had spiked violently and beside it was a satellite map with a bullseye on it. "s**t, there's a level spike at some broadcasting station too! It's smaller, though."
"On it!" Alan yelled, kicking the door open. Beyond it was an empty abyss filled with a myriad of differently-colored wisps of light.
"Alex, grab anything you need and come with us!" Josh shouted. He dove through the door. "Alex, you'll take two of 'em to the TV Station or whatever it is. Jake, send 'em through! The other two are with me at the college. Alan, you're on fast-response backup. Let's move, people!"
Linda dove through the portal.

Ted bristled at Takeshi. It was true. He didn't understand what the HELL was going on here. One moment he's being tortured, the next he's being told to kill innocents. Still, Takeshi's words came back to him. Hideki, what did he say?
{I really don't think you want to know. It was pretty bad.}
That just pissed Ted off more. He didn't want to do this, not if he didn't have to. He didn't have any protection against bullets, and he had no weapon to kill with, anyways. So, he went with his original plan anyways, only changing a few of the details. With that, he quickly ran to the group.

JESUS!
Joe quickly pulled all of his energy into his right hand, ran forward two steps, and slammed Sam in the back of the head, with all the wind power he could muster behind it. Sam flipped forward and hit the ground face-first, with a thud that sounded none too healthy. Joe rolled him over and wrapped a makeshift bandage around Sam's head. Without replying, Joe sat down and began to casually juggle fireballs.

Takeshi, despite having been practicing extending the range at which he could utilize his empathic connection, felt only Joe... juggling... fireballs? Haru suggested. Takeshi answered. "Ted, come on, what are you- oh for ******** sake. Ted, watch the fire!" He blasted a torrent of fire from his hands at the group.

Ted just kept walking, purposely ignoring Takeshi. The man, frankly, annoyed the hell out of him, and Ted thought of a couple things that could be done to remedy that. He did hear fire, though, and feeling it, moved one of the balls an inch to the right. Hopefully it would screw up whatever was happening. Maybe not, but Ted didn't care. He only wanted this stupid thing to end soon.

Keldan seethed. The instant Gurul's energy had begun to gather, Keldan's rage had spiked, sending Siber's eyes rolling up into his head for the split second it took them to recover.
Before he could even obey Josh's instructions, though, the power surge failed. That meant... either a trap, not likely of Gurul or any of his kin, or a mutiny. There was an insurgent in Legion's forces... of the names he knew, it could only be Joe or Erik, though others may have joined. Both had asserted relatively light-hearted aspects. No time to think about it too deeply, though- the possibility of new warlocks nullified any attempts to pinpoint who Siber and the rest had on their side. Siber found himself with no choice but to follow the others en route to the battleground and hope he could save the defector from Legion's minions' wrath; he went, already mumbling the chant for Sahasrara number one.

Joe added in a new fireball every minute or so, until he was casually juggling five fireballs. Wow. I could never do this if I wasn't able to influence the magic in 'em.
Joe stood and took a low stance, gathered his energy, and spun, whipping his arms out and back in. The wind blew violently through the courtyard, pushing the flames outward, then suddenly ripping them back inwards, towards Joe. He repeated the motion several times until the fires were small and scattered. Whoever is gonna get here better do it fast. I wanna get the hell out of here.

(Sorry, really long X-mas and New year family gatherings and break, etc. etc. I am back now, whoo! And I am still here, I'm not goin anywhere! xD)
Aurelie slipped out of the car with Legion at the station, glancing around carefully. She could feel the others magic searing across her skin raising an answering smile across her lips. She wasn't sure exactly what Legion wanted her to do first, she felt like she had been out of it for the whole ride. Narrowing her eyes at the street she wondered how long the hunter would take to appear. She blew her hair out of her eyes and tugged at her gloves, turning back to follow Legion.

((Sorry, I didn't see this come back up!))
"Dibs on college!" Paul shouted, quickly drawing both his pistol and his Nano. He charged the door, leaping through head-first as though preparing for a roll. Exactly how he would end up coming out on the other end was slightly less important, as long as he didn't snap his neck.

Having been walking down the street, black boots thumping the pavement rythmically with intent, Jessie, or chaos, as she was most often to be called, stopped at the edge of a building. She stood staring wide eyed at the scene of gruesomness in front of her, wondering. Her lips thinned into a flat line, her emerald eyes sparking fire. Forcing her looks under control she crossed her arms over her green tshirt, leaning her shoulder against the building beside her. The rip at the knee of her bluejeans showed plainly as she hooked one foot over the other, her combat boots sticking out plainly from the bottom of her faded jeans. A belt of ammo that looked rather fake was slung around her hips as decoration, two pistols of gleaming metal hung from holsters on both hips. Her black hair hung freely down her back, rippleing from the wind the attacks up ahead were causing. Her slender form was lithe but muscled from years of training, a combat fighter at her best. And she had been coming by here towards the news station. She watched the few guys wreaking havoc on students, and wondered if she should just go on. She waited leaned against the building, watching in fascination for a moment, wondering who was doing such a spectacle out in the open. Noone paid her any attention. Though she was starting to get bored. So she turned on her heel and started towards the news station, walking right through the chaos with a grim smile as people ran around in a panic screeching. One ran so close by her bleeding from some wound that he knocked against her getting blood on her hand. She whirled on him with a furious snarl before whipping her leg out and kicking him, tripping him into a harsh tumble as his momentum carried him into the side of a building. She thought sarcastically, before riasing her hand to sniff at the blood on her palm. Narrowing her eyes she licked her hand, then sent a growl towards the panic stricken boy before turning on her heel again. Tucking her hands in her pocket she slipped around the rubble intent on making her way just down the street to the news station.

Kayla took a moment to decide, then jogged towards the portal. "To the TV station then, I guess." She jumped through and landed next to Alex. She sagged to one knee to absorb the impact, then straightened up, adrenaline pumping like mad. "So, now what?"

Alex, reorienting himself from going through the portal, looked up in time to see Aurelie and Erik entering the building.
Jessie then disappeared off of the street. She found herself in front of a man who was, unmistakably, the self-inconsistent Legion, with his self-contradictory features and myriad voices.
"Well, my children, the time is here. Aurelie, take this and guard the door," Legion commanded, tossing her a jeweled necklace as he casually unleashed a small number of zombies on the station employees. "Hold it in one hand and tap a gem's thaumaturgically stored power, and each one will release a torrent of fire from the hand that is not holding the necklace. One pearl, one fire flood. Use them wisely. Each of the eight jewels will be a powerful weapon. Erik, you will help her. Jessie, follow me." He began walking up the stairs.
~~
Paul and Siber appeared from thin air in front of Joe. Alan's fast-response portals were working exceptionally well.
~~
Ted felt a small tug at his magic and Takeshi's fire roared into the shape of a dragon, consuming the already-fleeing gangsters.
"Do you mind? Come on!" he snapped. He entered the building he intended to fire from the top of, leaving Ted outside to follow or flee as he wished.
