Before I was Helpered/Modded I'd sometimes spend an afternoon polling and rack up 2k without even breaking a sweat, so I understand that any change to the polling aspect of the gold gain system could have a significant impact on the overall gold gain of users who rely primarily on polls for their pixelstash.

It's definitely more than just the first five polls that give you gold. I am earning a bit less, however. 8 gold rather than 10. Just plain old browsing seems to give me more gold than before (4 vs. 1) and PMs now give you gold as well, which wasn't the case before. Maybe it all evens out. ^^

I think in a general sort of way dialing down on the poll-whoring might be a good thing for Gaia. Anything that focuses more on interaction and community is a win in my book. ^^ I don't know if the Admins/Devs were thinking of it in those terms when they decided on the new parameters for the gold gain system, but I'm sure that they did think their decisions through, whatever the reasons were. That's good enough for me at the moment.

It seems to be going at different rates for different people. I went to earning zero gold with each poll after 5 polls, while waiting a minute between each poll. I still don't get gold if I try it every once in a while. I also stopped earing gold for posting after a few posts. A lot of other people have the same problem I do (it seems the majority of people complaining), while other people seem to not stop earning gold at all. I have no idea what's causing the difference.

My biggest concern is how hard it's gonna be to earn gold when I'm questing without being obnoxious. I can't poll indefinitely anymore. I can send PM's back and fourth between my mules, but that tapers out after a few rounds too. I could spam in the chatterbox about 7 times, and then I could spam other people's comment pages about 7 times. Then i'm drained for the day.

I'm not good enough to sell mini shop things, and I don't have enough money on me or the skill to work in the marketplace. And I don't want to have to sell donation letters...

You are good enough to sell mini shop things. You made/make cute little blinkies and you have really cute celtic knot things and... don't take this wrong ^^; but I've seen people selling, yes acutally getting sales, drawings a LOT worse than yours.

They do have a higher self-esteem than me, though.
