If it weren't for girls in anime you wouldn'tve had the most epic seen in FF7.. I mean Sephiroth stabbed her but Aerith died which is agreeably the harder of the two parts.

Indeed.
And I think we can all agree that females hold a special place in anime/manga related anything that cannot be replaced by male roles. Rather than disputing who is more essential, we should look at how both male and female roles contribute to the awesomness of most anime/manga in existence today.
