Kennie is a chuunin actually. And I personally would love to see what happens when Sora gets knocked around a bit and lets loose.
Anyways, since Kensei pulled back, we only really need to wait for Sora, unless someone drags him back into it.
And I do back up Cobra's sentiments that with so many people, you need to keep close track of the fight and post as soon as you're able. If you're unable to keep up posting, try and pull yourself out of the main fight, and thus, posting order, until you're better able.

I'm back now I'm just waiting for Kage to post mostly so I don't mess up the order. [edit] also kensei is running back to the fight. it's just hard to keep up with a giant snake that's probably moving at full speed.

Let me get this straight... First you phase through the rope that stops your hand from getting to your kunai pouch, get rid of the one going after your other hand by... Slapping it? Shooing it away? Then cut up all the new ones despite the fact they were made before you got your kunai and would have begun their work by then, summon weapons from a fair distance away to cut up the few you couldn't get by hand. And then you magically replace yourself with a clone without David noticing despite using a very blatant method, to where he still wastes chakra using the sand arms which were also grown before you could have gotten the kunai, then end by unleashing your iron sand? Do I have to list the ways that post is messed up? Or shall I just say the first and ask you to please stop basically godmodding this fight? David started the second set of ropes while you weren't even paying attention. The first set, used to recapture your hand, was lying in wait even before that and would, despite any claims of speed you'd like to argue, have at least delayed by pure surprise long enough for the second set to at least begin to bind you. The hands then come along about the time you'd start reacting, at which point the only truly valid part of your post would be the flying kunai. Beyond that, I'm beginning to tire of the trend beginning, that you manage to defend against or block anything that comes against you, and then perform ten moves of your own (Exaggeration, but still.) with no regard to any followup that the other fighters could and would have used in that time, forcing us to either bite the bullet and allow you to do whatever you want, or invalidate the majority of your post.

gaia_diamond At least somebody said it...
I've read through the entire postings throughout the main saga (mainly because there is nothing else for a little genin to do, and because I'm new so venturing into this isn't really my business) and...well...all I have to say, is at least someone finally called it what it is: god-moding.
At least 4 people against 1...and the guy hasn't even a stratch to show for it? I'm just jumping out on a limb here, but that just...well, I guess I don't have to repeat what's already been said. I just wanted to say, "Here, here!"
In all actuality, I was going to ask if you guys were staging this fight like that - since it was so unrealistic. Glad to know someone else is concerned. cat_blaugh gaia_diamond

Yeah, I have to agree with Hinote... I think there is a disconnect between the speed in which you can cut the ropes (if you can effectively cut them) and the speed at which you can control the metal around you to do so. Bringing metal to you isn't instantaneous... its not slow, but tis certainly not any faster then a Jounin.
Also, on top of that, you used TWO separate ninjutsu (which Im not 100% sure you can do without the combo type)... and that is really pushing in terms of beating Shinji's speed, especially when hes moving faster then you are capable of moving or reacting.

I knew I shouldn't have written this on my way out the door for work but alas that cannot be undone. So I'll go through the gauntlet here and come up with a solution that's well within fairness to all. Let me first start off by saying if you (HInote of course) would allow my shinobi (Yamatano) or even the Kumo Shinobi to leave the village, I wouldn't have to spend 90% of my posts bobbing and weaving like a madman. I know I told you from the beginning that I actually needed Yamatano for something pertaining to Luo, and for any kage to consider allowing a team of genin to even participate in a bout with a shinobi who destroyed the village center is a bit ridiculous on your part. However, based on the fact that you've made it abundantly impossible for me and you to simply have it out one on one (or really one on two since I assumed Shinji to at some point join in based on the NPC's background) has been a very annoying thing to deal with on my part. I'll begin with this, your sand arm jutsu begins after you speak to Shinji. Had it begun beforehand, that would be something completely different. So let's set that aside for now. Secondly, no one ever said David or ANYONE never saw the clone replacing me. You're standing as far as I can assume not more than 20ft away from me and you have eyes as far as I can tell. However, you are not the person attacking, Shinji is and he's moving at a rate of AE-AD (Can't remember which one off hand.) Secondly, your rope is moving 1.5+ ranks slower than I am. If my hand is already in motion the moment your rope is re-attempted, which one is going to happen first? Will my hand reach my pouch and slice the rope, or will your rope somehow speed up to catch my hand? As for the second hand as I read over my own post, it looks as if I just swatted it away without a care in the world. That's utterly incorrect. Now, as for the neck and torso. I'm going to go with one of my hands is still tied and therefore useless because as I went back to read your posts Hinote, I found that you did not create a new set of ropes to lock my hands, but rather used the same ones I had cut beforehand to do so. So I'm going to quote the Jiton bloodline word for word here to show that I'm not stepping out of bounds as far as the speed of my magnetic control within the area is: "Benefits and Abilities Granted: • Can utilize Doton, Raiton, and Jiton elements as a Genin. • Can control metal, allowing the user to instantaneously alter the direction and velocity of an object at will (without the need of any hand seals or chakra), albeit with limitations on the size of the object and the range in which it can be controlled. • Can 'sense' metal when it is within a certain radius of their body. This sense is automatic and is felt by the user in several ways, including a sensation at the core of their bones and via smell/taste (many claiming to be able to identify rarer metals by variations of taste/smell). The radius in which a Jiton user can detect metal is equal to the range in which they can control it." So, a jiton user is able to control metal and control its velocity and direction instantaneously at will. Of course, this depends on the jiton users rank. My own rank for this NPC is A-ranked. So based on that, this would also serve to be true of my magnetic abilities: "5. The 'Strength' of a user's magnetic pull on a metal object is equal to the Jiton user's rank (or effective rank, if their Jiton ability is enhanced). This means that in order to control any piece of metal another user is holding, the 'Strength' of your magnetic pull must be greater then the user's own strength. Likewise, to deflect an incoming attack made by a metal weapon (when held by an opponent), the Jiton user's 'Strength' must be stronger than the attacker's strength. If not, check the difference... If the strength of the opponent is 1 rank higher, the attack is only slightly deflected... If the strength of the opponent is 2 ranks higher, the attack is not deflected at all. " So the strength of my pull, would be equal to the jiton user's rank or effective rank. Both of those for me once more, being A-ranked. So, yes I could have in fact used the metal dropped by Shinji or even the metal in my own pockets to cut the ropes as you turned to Shinji to speak to him. So then would come how I moved. I am a ninjutsu professional whose jounin benefit is Elemental Mastery Sunaton. Meaning, I can use sunaton up to C-rank without hand seals. That's how I was able to use the hidden sand technique to move. Now, I can agree by all means, that since I do not have the combo user type and to my knowledge even jounin in this guild cannot use more than one jutsu for every post, the lightning clone cannot and will not in my edit exist. However, I do believe that between the time it would take for me to summon the metal to cut myself, and have you sit there and talk to Shinji for a moment before even beginning to form any hand seals, I have more than enough time to sink under the ground and emerge where I wanted to. There's certainly some things I'm willing to edit based on me rushing through this post, however my jiton speed and the elemental mastery are both well within means for me to dodge what you have done. Had you formed the seals for the grabbing hand technique before speaking, I could fully agree that there'd simply be no time for me to escape the ropes and the hands without being caught somehow. However, that was simply not the case. I'll wait for responses here before editing anything, or for a chat message to go through this faster. @Natsumiyui: I'm sure your RPC can help around the village by guiding people to safety/the hospital or something. I wanna say someone else's RPC (Tv's?) is supposed to be doing that right now as well.

Forgive me if I'm brief, but I just noticed you'd responded in my final check before going to bed, and should have gone to bed two hours ago, so I'm just going to try and respond point by point on the important bits.
If the genin did actively interfere, I would most likely have come up with a way to dissuade them. However, since the genin have stayed back, leaving it to myself and chuunin to fight, I haven't tried to dissuade them purely because David truly isn't ready for a battle on this scale. Not one on one. If I'm to be totally honest he's barely at chuunin level in terms of jutsu available to him. Now that Shinji has joined in though, and if it does turn out that this attack fails in the end, I'll most likely come up with some way to remove the others to some degree. You already took Yamatano out of the equation, for a few posts at least, and something can likely be done to smooth things out with Kensei too. (@Greg and Ken: I have nothing against either of you or your involvement in the fight. It's just very tedious trying to organize a fight with so very many people. In just this instance, Luo's post completely invalidates most of my own, as well as the entirety of Cobra's (Since David's reaction would not continue to send Shinji in if Jishaku's actions panned out that way.). Basically everyone but Greg loses chunks of their posts, his only surviving because he ignored my own and Cobra's when he wrote his anyways.)
Unfortunately allowing them to leave the village during the battle, while unfortunately inconvenient for many reasons, would also be a major transgression against logic and common sense, at least in my eyes, and thusly David's. Yamatano much less than the Kumo nin, but still relevant.
The sand arms, despite the unfortunate fact that it's difficult to portray without redundant and generally unnecessary extra exposition, were meant to be performed simultaneously to speaking to Shinji. Proving my sometimes horrible memory, I actually thought I had included them BEFORE talking to him at that. Regardless, they are done immediately after the ropes, and at the same time as speaking.
I say that your post basically assumes that David didn't see the change, because for some reason he continues to use the sand arms, despite it now being useless and a waste of chakra. If in fact your escape had gone as described, he wouldn't have used the sand arms at all, or made Shinji attack, instead focusing on recapturing you with the ropes first. That is why I said before that Cobra's entire post would be invalid.
Moving to the rope vs hand speed, the rope does not wait for your hand to get to the pouch before it starts moving. I may, again, have been lax in the description, but it was meant to be implied that it was waiting at the pouch. As for the ropes speeding up, no they don't, but I have to wonder if it'd be possible. Unfortunately the Ichibi sand manipulation doesn't include such points as speed and strength, facts I count as oversight on my own part that I may remedy in future. If it did, I'd say it could be possible to speed them up by transferring their control to sand manipulation rather than purely jutsu. (I may also add max range to sand manipulation if I do go back to edit it more, in reference to some degree to the trick I used on the sharks. With that kind of power there should be a range limit. Probably similar to or even the same as the jiton range.)
(Random fun fact: Shinji is actually moving at AB speed. Fun fact part two: His max speed using Konaga enhancements is actually AA, since in this post he's suffering a -1 rank deduction from his pain rank.)
I'm not sure why you're referencing the jiton in response to which ropes caught your hands? However this is a good opportunity to mention that, as far as I recall, Shinji had not dropped his weapons before David spoke to him. With that in mind, your post actually steals his dropped weapons BEFORE he drops them. While it's not too far fetched to say you could summon them, since range wasn't well established there, it would be considerably harder while they were still on his person.
(David didn't turn to Shinji at all. I specifically state this in the last paragraph, but it's unclear in the initial speech. He spends the entire time focusing on Jishaku and the multiple high focus techniques he's using on him.)
I was unaware of the ninjutsu specialist seal benefit. It seems to have returned to memory though now that you've mentioned it, since I do now recall turning it down when I originally designed Yasashii, since I had support type already, rendering it mostly pointless. However a new question arises with that. With David pumping chakra into that portion of sand to bring up ropes and arms and all that, I'm not sure Jishaku could actually have used the technique, since that would require going through sand imbued with David's chakra, even if you had removed the ropes successfully.
However I'd also like to note that the second you went under the sand David would have reactivated sand sight, and the ropes would actually be faster than you underground, not to mention they could form from seemingly nowhere if I just made new ones. Or even the fun fallback of using the same exact trick as I used on the sharks, since it worked on the assumption that they move in basically the same method as that jutsu. (Not a fault in your post, but a fun side note, and an extra point to my earlier statement that making posts that assume too much and make reactions impossible screw everyone else over in that they can't do what they WOULD do.)
Oddly enough, I hadn't even considered that you shouldn't have been able to use two techniques along with everything else...
And down to your final paragraph, I refer again to the timing on the hands being simultaneous to speaking. The transition between ropes and hands was meant to be basically seamless, since he knew quite well after the first time that the ropes weren't enough to hold you fully.
Most of the moral of this post seems to be that I need to work on being a tad bit more clear in my sometimes less than optimally descriptive machinations. =/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Timmy's character is indeed the one performing rescue operations. I seriously need to get a post up for him, since he's been waiting on me for awhile now... I maaaay have stretched myself a bit thin again. Good thing I haven't gone and started up in any other guilds or I'd really be in trouble.
@Natsumi: Since we can't really say just yet how long this fight will take (Depending on Luo's edits, it could end in the next round or take another month. Personally I sort of hope it ends sooner than later, since it's only reminding me that David needs serious amounts of training at this point.) it'd be better for you to go ahead and pick someplace to post rather than waiting and hoping for something to come along. Once I get Yasashii going again (Along with Timmy's character) I can easily maneuver events to join you into that little operation if you'd like, or you could run alone for a bit if you'd prefer. (Or seek out someone else to help along, since it's hard to be active alone.)
And now... I go to bed!
Seeing as how I'm a medical/support type, and a lowly genin (as it's coming to my knowledge) I figured that is where I would be best posting without causing any uproar. This also leads people who are lingering around, wanting to be "a part of the storyline" without, actually being "in" the storyline, to post something related to the attacks. (You know, buildings falling, etc etc). But, like you said, it's hard to be active alone and responding to myself just hadn't come to mind since I just was more involved in reading up on things going on around Suna. I like to absorb my atmosphere and learn a bit about how things go before I go plunging into a role-play. Mostly because I don't want to have to end up like most and editing my post x3 or more times.
However, I will post something different tonight, on account of an invitation. gaia_diamond
...I see a decided lack of resolution or discussion regarding Luo's last post and the overall fight.
- It has been over a week.
- There are 6 separate RPCs frozen in the event.
- The overall plot of the guild is frozen in this fight
...this one fight is KILLING activity. Either several members of the fight back off (regardless of how little RP sense it makes), or we progress this fight forward quickly or we risk re-killing a large portion of our active population.
Well, I won't claim to have been particularly active in the last week or so myself... Stretched myself a little thin and I guess I've been taking a bit of a break.
Anyways, since Luo seems to have dropped off the radar, we COULD assume that since he stated outright that if the sand arms came before talking to Shinji he wouldn't be able to escape them right away, and thus would be vulnerable to Shinji's attack, and the arms in fact came simultaneously to speaking to Shinji (Basically the same thing.), that Shinji's attack was successful, Jishaku is out for the count, and we can move on with other things. I'm sure Luo would come up with some way to keep the fight going if he was around, but by all (Human) logic, taking a hit like that, and as surprising as it would be considering he was sure of his escape, it would knock out any normal human at the very least.
So, I vote we move on by that logic. If the majority of people directly involved in the fight agree, I'll work out my next post following that. If not, we wait for Luo. And if Luo reappears before said vote is complete (Or my post is made.), we wait. Fair enough?
Edit: I wonder why I didn't get a notice from Cobra's post? Weird. I did get two nearly identical IMs from him and Greg after nearly a week of no contact though, which seemed odd.
Yea, I didn't get a notification from Cobra's post, either.
Have you guys had any contact with Luo outside of the initial debate in this thread? Because the next posts hinge on you guys coming to an agreement regarding that.
I must vote against this. While I am as eager as anyone to resume RPing, you cannot just autohit, especially for a possible kill, unless you are certain that the RPC/NPC is no longer in use and will not be in use again, either by user termination/leaving or an outright statement that the character is abandoned.
Nobody is talking about an autokill, or even an autohit (Regardless, rule of thumb I believe is eight days before a fight ending autohit is allowed. (Edit: By which rule an autohit is not allowed until tomorrow, since the last mention of the fight was on the ninth.)). By his own admission the hit is pretty much impossible to avoid after clarification has been made, making it much less unethical to proceed for the sake of moving on. It has already been expressed that David wants Jishaku alive, and he would be held prisoner, potentially allowing Luo to resume the character at a later, more convenient time. Shinji might try to proceed with the killing, but David is more than capable of stopping him. The initial hit wouldn't be a killing blow, despite the pure power put into it. Simply a fight ending one. And no, I haven't had any contact with Luo since. I think I've seen him on occasionally, but I haven't been as active as usual the last week or so, so that's not necessarily saying much. ~ Maybe quote notifications are broken? Let's test it.
That eight day autohit thing is true, but that is in the instance that the offending party has not posted. In this instance, Luo, the one who would be receiving the detrimental effect of this autohit, HAS posted, and it is you who filed a discrepancy with it. In addition, its technically your turn to post, which means that you're the reason a post hasn't been made in eight days. While I am mostly in agreement with you regarding the previously mentioned discrepancy, the fact of the matter is that Luo is the last one who posted, and calling the eight day rule on him is not valid. I say you PM him directly to continue the debate about who was in the right on this matter, but an autohit would not be justifiable. That one worked, did this?
