"Agent of heaven means I die then you are one who I need to talk to about the other half of my predicament." He said while continuing walking to the field. The field was now in sight and only a matter of feet away. In it's center was one of the triple blade projectors.
Takehitsu continued, "I'm a mercenary, who will fight for things I deem worthy. I also consider personal enjoyment my greatest drawback. If I don't enjoy the job then there's less chance I will do it or a higher payment. At this moment I already have a means of communicating with heaven which brings me to the other half of my predicament. I need a manner of travelling to and from hell's fortress or wherever it is that I would be able to communicate for missions. Maybe when this duel is over you can help me with that of course I would be in your debt then. I make it a point to always pay me debts..." He finished as he walked to one side of the field.
Upon arriving at that side he felt the hilt of the katanas as they animated within his hands and with a fluid moment seemingly more practiced than the action of walking pieced them together at their handles to make Takehitsu's primary weapon, his doublesword.
He looked at Kestral, "I will cause that blade piece to blow up at random and that will be our sign to begin, sound alright?" He asked in referance to the triple blade piece in the center of the field. The explosion would not be large enough to hinder either of the combatants it would just be a flashy start.

((Alright so this is the first part of the final chapter of my book, I was just wondering if anyone would like to offer some constructive criticism or advice. Just trying to end this damn book, I've got nineteen other chapters and all that. Other than that, you can just read and enjoy.))

Kestral walked towards the ruins, this was it, this was when and where the prophecy had said that he would finally find Cross. This would be their final meeting. This would end their feud. The reign of terror that Cross/Caruss had bled upon his world would soon end. Even as a demon, a devoted servant of Hell's throne, Kestral found that Cross was a plague on humanity, Heaven and Hell.

Kestral summoned Half Blood, the sword formed in his right hand from the usual black and white aura. This blade had slain so many demons, angels, humans, and beasts that he had lost count. This blade, the only belonging he had of his deceased friend Beleas. It had turned from a weapon that could only transform into two other forms, into a weapon that could transform into ten other forms. Kestral had treated the weapon as if it were a part of him, the blade was in it's ninth form, the Greatsword Form. He smiled as he brandished it, this would be it's ultimate test.

Kestral ignited his aura, all the parts of his body within his own vision began to resonate with a glowing silver lining, he pushed further, letting his energy leak break from a small stream to a full force torrent. The aura pulsated and began to whisp away from his body, like steam from dry ice. Kestral pushed himself as hard as he could with his willpower, forcing the aura to transform into the shape of the Silver Dragon. Aes (The Silver Dragon Spirit) formed around him, enveloped him, Aes was his curtain of comfort.

"This is the final time we will ever have to worry about Cross. His tainted presence among the living will be extinguished tonight." He told the dragon which pulsated with life. Though Aes did not respond, he knew that his silence was his way of encouraging Kestral.

Kestral looked towards the path before him. There was no more than several hundred feet between he and the lair that Cross had inhabited for some time. The place was dark, and forbidden, just as Cross was. This palace of evil, this shrine of the wicked was also home to the temple in which Aes' body had been imprisoned. This place was also where Kestral had first fought and defeated Caruss. Caruss had sacrificed Beleas, Kestral's best friend, in this temple. After he and Beleas merged souls, he had since been known as Cross, the reincarnation of Cryos: the Black Dragon. This place was known as Malice, it sat at the dead center of the chasm where Cryos and Aes had fought for the first time. The bloodstained history behind this Temple was no doubt why Cross had decided to choose it as his refuge. The ruins of the Temple of Malice where so similar yet different to the way Kestral remembered them. The doors that had once towered over it's visitors were blown completely away, the inner chambers were coated in dust and grime. The walls were stained with different signs of aging, it had been only five years since Kestral had fought Caruss, but from the looks of the abandoned Temple tower, it had been more than a thousand. Kestral braced his weapon as he prepared for the fight ahead.

As he entered, he took the time to look around, to take in his surroundings. Kestral couldn't help but wonder where Cross was.

"CROSS!!!" He yelled, at first only being answered by his own echo as it traversed from wall to wall in the spire. Kestral was about to yell again when he was suddenly startled by a loud sound behind him.

The Nocturne of Shadows had begun playing on an enormous church organ from behind him, the same ominous organ and song that had been playing when Cross and Kestral originally fought in the Temple. Kestral looked around again, searching for Cross in every possible place he could have been.

A set of curving, separated stairs went on each side of a massive door at the bottom of them. A light tapping noise issued from behind the doors, slowly and faintly at first, but growing louder as time progressed. The tapping stopped for several seconds, and Kestral's heart slowly rose to his throat as the suspense built to the point of spilling over.

Suddenly, the doors creaked slowly as they opened. Whatever was behind them, Kestral could not tell, the innards of whatever maw those doors represented were darker than the rest of the Temple.

The doors opened all the way, and slowly the tapping noise sprang to life once again. A figure began to appear, no details could be made out, but Kestral instantly knew who it was simply by the silhouette of the person. Cross' large black demon wings were partly folded so that they did not scrape against the inner walls of whatever hallway he was making his way out of. Now that the dim moonlight had found it's way onto the surface of his skin, Kestral could make out his wild black hair as it worked it's way into strange directions. He could see Cross' infamous eyes, the gold iris with purple surrounding it in his left eye, a monument to every innocent life he had ended, and Beleas' Feral Beast eye in his right socket. Cross entered the room fully, his face still directly towards the floor, his eyes glared at Kestral while a wicked smirk sprawled across his face. His clothes were different from the usual dark leather raiment. Now he was covered in what appeared to be a shining black metal suit of armor. This was the same armor that Kestral had seen him summon when he first fought Caruss. Yet another memory flashed across his mind of the pit of black flames from whence this armor had originally came upon Caruss. Cross finally raises his head slightly without changing his twisted expression.

"Sir Kestral..." He started, letting his voice sink deep into Kestral's mind before he continued, "It's been some time... I see that you remembered the words of the prophecy. That's good, I wouldn't want you to miss the day that I break free of our bond and destroy this pitiful world." He slowly unsheathed his two swords, Kestral suddenly was filled with memories of the smaller blade. Once he had carried the same sword, but Cross had reclaimed the blade after their last fight.

"Cross, you b*****d, this battle between us ends before sunrise. I will wipe your scourge from existence and make damn sure that there is nothing left of you afterward." Kestral said, brandishing Half Blood as Aes flapped his wings violently as his aura.

"Well then, I suppose that the time for words has passed then. Prepare yourself, your fate awaits both you, and that cursed dragon." Cross said, looking at Aes and flourishing his blades extravagantly.

Cross ignited his aura in an explosion of black fire. The fire began to take the shape of a black dragon with it's wings outstretched. Kestral suddenly realized why Cross had not been destroyed by Kestral's dragon form. Visions began to dance quickly across Kestral's thoughts. Why hadn't he seen this before? Why hadn't Cross shown this power before? Cross was the reincarnation of Cryos, just as Kestral was the reincarnation of Aes, therefor he would of course share the same powers with Cryos that Kestral shared with Aes.

"Kestral..." said Aes, turning his neck to look at him, "Cross is the reincarnation of Cryos, the black dragon. That means that he has a dragon form as well. It appears that he is no longer going to hold back this power, be careful and do not hesitate to fuse our souls!"

Kestral looked at Aes and nodded sternly, this was going to be Kestral's toughest battle. He could only hope that he came out alive.

OOC: probably should put that in fan art... Since books are literal artwork.... That way it's not a serious digression from the actual HVH

((Hmm, yes you have a point, but it isn't directly related to HvsH so I put it in here. I'll copy it and put it in the Fan Art thread though.))

((Ah, I see your point, and must agree with it. I'll put it in there as well. For now, back to the matter at hand))

Kestral looked at Takehitsu with a severely angry look as he said Heaven. But after Takehitsu had finished speaking he hesitated slightly before speaking.
"Well, since your alliances don't lie directly with Heaven, my orders don't require that I kill you. So this match shall be only until the other competitor has conceded or been knocked unconscious. As far as the other matter goes, I'll decide after we've had our match." Kestral said.

He took his place on the opposite side of the field to Takehitsu. Kestral grabbed a small object from out of his pocket, it was an orb with a large swirling imprint on the top of it. Kestral threw it up into the air and yelled.

"Forest of Hell!" the orb responded by spinning violently and transforming the landscape into the same demonic forest that Kestral had called home for so many years. The sky turned red, the ground turned black, the grass crimson with blood. A light drizzle of acidic rain began to drain from the sky.

None of this had bothered Takehitsu untill there was an Acidic rain. This rain was not strong enough to do anything to the Ghantak but it meant he could not let it get upon his skin in any way. His eyes would narrow. Not unless he could change this matter. He pressed a button and a light started beeping on the projector it was only a matter of time. He also planned on letting Kestral make the first move. As the light flickered Takehitsu's mind began to sink into that of the warrior. It would only reach a partial status as this combat was no where near intense nor threatening enough for him to become the Warrior. He right now even without the warrior would have put up one hell of a fight. But with this where he was at now almost like stage one of a possible two stage transformation, was enough to fight most armies without getting a single wound, and not leave a single man standing aside from himself. Like this most of his deadlier techniques he could use. The fight in the arena he had used this point but only for a short time here he would use it for the whole fight. He had options from the point... BOOM... And the fight began.

Kestral flourished his blades and then sent forth a dozen of the same shockwaves of razorsharp energy that he had shot at Takehitsu in their last match. Red waves issued from the demonic blade, and blue waves from the angelic blade. Takehitsu would no doubt recognize this skill, but what Kestral had planned was a slight step up that he had attained from the strenuous training he had been doing for the past several months. Kestral jumped up, about seven feet in the air, and then began revolving at blinding speed, he kept the blades close to him for several seconds and then stretched his arms out, letting the whirlwind whip the auras into a Blade Hurricane. This skill was about ten times more powerful than the Blade Tornado he had used on the trees earlier. A gale of razorsharp red and blue shockwaves began to issue from everywhere and they all began to shoot directly at Takehitsu at blinding speeds. This was essentially like throwing a marshmallow into a jet's turbine, anything inside would be obliterated.

Takehitsu smiled seeing the shockwaves and instead of going into any manner of defence he would do something many would consider insane. He charged them.. He jumped just to the edge and slid his blade across the edge of the shockwave which would turn his angle but keep him afloat. This would also cause him to dodge and obtain ground on his opponent at the same time. His reserved trick in the last match was to be used immediately now. The base of his boots would explode in a flame and send him forward at a dangerous speed. This activated at the exact moment Kestrel began his hurricane. The shockwaves where merely an annoying hinderance and takehitsu flew towards Kestral sliding off of each of the shockwaves as they neared him.

Kestral stopped spinning in mid-air with an explosion of wind.
"What the hell? He's just dodging and bouncing off of the shockwaves! Well, let's see how well he bounces off of this!" Kestral said, just before grabbing his blades and slashing the air, nearly full power. An enormous shockwave of about 100 feet in length and twenty feet in width surged forward with tremendous power.

Takehitsu both frowned and smiled internally. One this would be a drain on his opponents energy yet at the same time difficult to avoid. Takehitsu flipped so with a second burst of flame he would head away from the shockwave. He had a few things he could do but none of them would turn out quite the way he would have wanted. Thus he held his doublesword in his right hand and took his left. His left would move in a blurring motion going to and from his chest as though throwing blades. In truth he was throwing blades. He threw six of them at the center of the shockwave. In a small circle and turned himself around with another burst.

A shockwave is a burst of energy normally caused by explosions. This was a variant of one thus with six smaller explosions in a small area he could technically sever a segment of the shockwave. He spinned the double sword in front of him as he would go through the weakened point. The wave segment still hit him and caused him to flip in midair. He would aim his legs and with and yet another burst of flame he would be heading towards Kestral and yet again. He spit blood out to the side. As a numbness covered his body.

"God damn me... well, he already has..." Kestral said to himself, he wasn't so much worried about what would happen should Takehitsu reach him as he was angry. An anger was filling him, and he knew that if he didn't abate it soon, it would mean the end of the other fighter, which was not what Kestral wanted. He could feel his aura pounding him, telling him to just ascend to his true form, to obliterate his opponent, but he resisted.

Kestral centered the focus of his aura on his feet, so that he would be heavier. He plummeted towards the ground and upon reaching the surface, created a small crater. He then transformed his dual blades into their Greatsword form. The massive blade formed in front of him and he grabbed the handle, focusing his power into the blade. A powerful aura began to enshroud it dangerously.

Takehtsu's numbness began to fade thankfully as he flipped. With his flip three needles would fall straight down towards his opponent and he would decend behind his opponent. He would land facing where his enemy was and once again hold the handle for the doublesword. He now charged by foot lowering the weapon as his charge would drop his head down at his opponent so his body was running at a 45 degree angle to the ground. The weapon on his right side run up his side and protruded in front of him maybe a manner of inches next to his head. It would be obvios to Kestral now that he was moving about three times faster than any normal human and so he should be considered three times as deadly.

Kestral's blade had been supercharged, it now held enough energy to cut through virtually any metal like paper. He swung his blade as hard as he could, knowing that if it made contact with the armor, that it would pierce it.

Takehitsu's speed was his current method. His blade would move to intercept the blade but he let go of his legs as the blade hit his. He dropped and the power of the swing would roll him around the attacking weapon and throw him to the side of his opponent yet with his run he was going by him. He also let the force of the swing rotate his blade so it flipped in a slash at his opponents side. He landed and rotated immediately to face his opponent once again noting a chip in the blade that he had used to intercept his opponent. This was a rare occurrence indeed.
