Mai-lin pouted. "Hey, that's not very nice. I just didn't start until later then everyone. I didn't always want to be a ninja. Nii-san was going to be the only ninja from my clan this time around."

"Sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. I don't think you're stupid or anything like that..." Kei gave her a smile. "Are you happy being a shinobi? You don't seem to be the type that could sit still for a more normal job."
When Yuhi finished cleaning his weapons, he went to the kitchen and had a quick snack before leaving. He wasn't used to going to bed this early even if he had to get up at sunrise for missions. "I wonder where my little brother's wandered off to?"
Tori quickly left the tea house and made her way towards the west gate, looking around to make sure she wasn't being followed. I'm going to be late... She thought as she used a jutsu on the guards to put the asleep so they wouldn't see her leave the village.

Anekio yawned slighlty as she worked her at back to her apartment. She figured it'd be better to take her time, there was no real rush right now. I'm just throw a disguse or two in the backpack and maybe a few kunai knifes.

Mai-lin shrugged. "I don't know. When I was younger I wanted to be just a reagular teacher. Now, if I make if to Chunin, I'll teach kids to become ninjas. I'm not too whatever on the missions. There's just one thing I have to do before I start teaching." She blinked when she saw the ramen stand in front of them. She walked in and sat down on a stool. "Beef ramen please." She turned to look at Kei. "Once I find out who killed my brother and kill them then I can do whatever. How about you Kei?" She asked her teammate about ramen, quickly switching topics.

"I'll have a miso please." He told the cook, then turned his attention back to Mai-lin. "Do you think that killing the guy who killed your brother will really change things and make you feel any better? It won't make a difference; you'll still feel empty inside."

Mai-lin shrugged again. "I don't really know. I just want to hurt the people who hurt Li. Li helped me a lot and it was because of him I became a ninja. But let's not tatlk about that any more. Why did you become a ninja?"

Anekio continued down the street silently. It's not too bad right now. Actually, I don't even really care too much to follow after those guys. I've got teaching to do and plans for teaching to make first. Jeez, this is a pain. The woman though, sighing.

Kei looked away from Mai-lin and fell silent. After a few minuets, he finally spoke. "A few years ago, my mother was raped and killed by a couple men from this village. Father was away on a mission and Yuhi was gone on one of his dates. I was home alone when it happened. When I found her, she was lying on our porch, a bag of groceries spilled on the ground beside her, dead. When father got back, he blamed Yuhi for her death as he was supposed to have been home watching me. If he'd been there, mom would still be alive.
"I wanted to be a ninja so I'd have the strength and ability to protect my family and anyone else from pain and sadness. That is why I train every day and do my best in school and around the house."

Mai-lin's eyes grew wide and she hung her head slightly. "Oh...I'm so sorry... I shouldn't have asked... I'm really sorry, Kei." Her cheeks were starting to bloom a bright red from embarsement from asking. "I didn't mean to bring up any bad memories..."
The man with the ramen watched the to out of the side of his eyes. He placed the two bowls of ramen in front of the kids and grabbed a small bag of treats from under the conter. He placed it between the two. "Free of charge." he told mai=lin when she reached for her money bag.

"Don't worry about it. I'm not afraid to talk about her or what happened. I know that there was nothing that I could have done that would have made a difference, so I don't let it bother me. Yuhi is the one who feels the worse, even if mom did give her permission to go out. This is why my father and brother don't get a long and sometimes my brother and I fight." Kei said and shrugged. "Itadakimasu." he said then dug into his bowl of soup.

Mai-lin bit her lip for a second, a habit she had gotten from her grandfather. She then sighed and picked up her chopsticks. "Itadakimasu." she said before pulling up some of her noddles with the two wooden pieces. She looked over at the sweets the man had given then and her eyes grew wide. She almost chocked on her ramne before quickly sollowing it and standing up. "Hey, mister! We can't take these. They haven't made them in years and they cost a lot. You should keep them!" All she saw was a quick wave from the man, telling her it was nothing before she sat down, stupifed. "I can't believe it. My Granddad use to give me these when I was younger and when he ran out...I haven't had these since I was five!"
((Can't think of a name but...))

Kei gave her a smile. "Help yourself to them, Mai-lin." he watched her while he ate. I'll have to see if I can find some more for her if she likes them so much. "Don't eat too many or you'll start bouncing off the walls more than you already do."

Mai-lin opened the bag and grabbed one of the small candies. She quickly unwrapped it and smiled. She looked through the bag and pulled out a blue wrapped candy. "Here, try it. They have all sorts of flavors. My favrouite is cherry."
((A bit like starbursts but also like those Harry Potter Beans.))

[Jelly beans? xD Or...like skittles or something?] Anekio stopped at her apartment buidling. Putting her hand in her pocket, she searhed around for the little golden key. Stupid thing, I knew I should've made some sort of locket or whatever. She sighed, checking her other one. "There!" She whispred in relief, unlocking the door and stepping in.
Closing the door behind her, Anekio smiled. She didn't cook everyday, but when she did it was kind of exciting. "What to make today. Nothing too difficult, I can't stay up too late..."

After finishing his soup, Kei picked up one of the green candies and popped it into his mouth. "Mmm, this one tastes like green tea. You can have them all if you want. I actually don't eat sweets that much." He said with a smile. "Hey, we should go to the hospital and see how everyone's doing. Though visiting hours might be over by now."
Tori stopped multiple times on her way through the woods to make sure that she was alone. If someone were to find out what she was doing, she'd be in big trouble. After seeing or sensing no one, she continued towards the boarder. She stopped running when she reached the large waterfall that fed the river that served as the fire country's boarder. She made her way to the top and looked around. Just as she sensed another's presence, she felt the cold blade of a kunai pressed to her throat.
