One floor below the roaring and short lived inferno, the flames trickled into little more then a sharp intake of breath. Kalie's head turning all the same at the oddity of the occurrence. Brushing a few stray strands from her eyes, she left the window and found the hall. The worried pounding of her heart almost deafening her ears as the walk broke into a run.

The room suffered little actual damage, maybe papers and sheets singed and such, but nothing beyond that. Tor had reached the kitchen, and had just popped in and out of the Brink. A scream filled the house...something about vampires and sweet bleeding.

As her fingertips swept down the lightly singed door frame, the gentle movement abruptly froze and became ridged all at once. Kalie's head was first to move, as the rest of her came around to stare at the staircase disappearing into the lower floor. Before she could even judge the severity of the burn marks, she would be gone.. her footsteps carrying her closer to the origin of the scream.

The disturbed babbling with mixed yells moved through the house, passing through the kitchen and beyond. It abruptly stopped as a loud hum filled the house, followed by a crackle of energy. A lower hum remained, it came from the tele-pads.

From around the corner, sort of down the hall from the kitchen, two large timid blue eyes appeared blinking silently before quickly disappearing out of sight. Only to reappear a few seconds later several feet from the transporter. The same quizzical expression clearly defined in the endless pools of color.

The tele-pad was still active, a dim column of light rising from the rings inscribed upon the floor. Wherever the last destination was, the tele-pad was still linked there and almost seemed to beckon Kalie to enter it.

Scuttling over to the tele pod, Kalie peered down at it, careful not to breech the inch or so between herself and the glowing rings right away. Her eyes flickering over little as she listened. The house had once again become quiet aside from the gentle hum of power vibrating throughout the platform.
Edging closer, her breathing deepened just enough to send several strands soaring into the vicinity of the rings. The unintentional test curving the potential danger just enough that Kalie took that first step onto the platform..

Quote: Taking notice of the muffled sounds coming from the bath and absence of Tor within the immediate bedroom, Kalie cocked her head slightly then shrugged continuing toward a side table near the bed. The contents of the tray jiggling as it was set down at an angle, so it would be closer to the bed once Torment came back. The plate sitting atop the main one making sure the stack of waffles underneath wouldn't drop significantly lower in temperature until then. Torment emerged from the bathroom, looking slightly less tired, though his wings were hardly even burning, to the point where the flames died out moments after he left the bathroom. He slowly moves to sit down on the bed, not taking any notice of Kalie or the food at first.

With her back against a wall, Kalie remained quiet at first, her head tilting to the side as she smiled. Not an amused smile.. more of a you look like death, but its still kinda cute smile.
"Are you going to be okay..?"
Without missing a beat she pushed herself up from the wall, the smile slipping a bit as her tone grew a little serious.
"If you need anything at all, just ask."

Tor let out a brief sigh before he looked up to her, meeting her eyes only to glance off to the side as if ashamed to do so. His hands came up to rub his temples for a moment as he closed his eyes, head turning back towards the floor as he mumbled to himself, shaking his head slightly.
He didn't even look up, simply whispered, "No...could...could you just go downstairs for a little while?"

"Yea..sure.."
She didn't want to leave him, but at the same time, Kalie had said anything at all and meant it. If Torment wanted some time to himself, she'd give it to him without a second thought. Sighing softly she moved to leave, her eyes straying away from Tor till she paused at the door, her hand lightly drumming along the frame. Almost loud enough to drone out the whisper.
"I love you.."

Tor didn't say anything, or even react to the nearly silent words, he simply stared at the ground, trying to hold more back than just tears. He obviously wasn't feeling too hot, somewhere near the edge of actually throwing up, and it wasn't merely limited to one thing either. Both illness and recent events pounded in his mind. Just pounding and pounding and pounding, he really wished he could forget that part, well, that was most of it really.
He shot up and quickly made his way to the door, ignoring the nausea and the pounding for a moment. He swung out the door wide and came around on one foot. He stumbled slightly as he stepped close to Kalie, "Wait...I..." He took a breath as he pulled her into an embrace, leaning his head against hers. "Kalie...I can't tell you all whats wrong....not right now. It kills me to keep secrets from you hun, but...I just can't seem to bring it to words without bringing up lunch with it." For a second he paused, as if holding back the urge to barf. He continued slowly, pulling back to look Kalie in the eyes, "Love...I just need my time." He slowly, hesitantly pulled away, plodding off back to sit and eat, but he quickly stopped and spun around again, "And love...we really need to talk about the whole last name thing. I think mine sucks, ditch it...the both of us." He smirked slightly as he turned back and disappeared into the room again, the lights growing dim, but still light enough to see.
((OH! pun >.< Feeling too hot, heh ^_^))

Kalie knew that on occasion, listening is far better than saying anything at all. So as Torment pulled away she nodded, seemingly content with his desire to be left alone for personal reasons, even if it meant the the warmth she had been so happily dwelling in would begin to fade as he retreated back into the dimly lit room.
"Come find me, when you're ready."
With her words fading, nothing but the echo of a soft chuckle would come from the hall as she headed for the stairs in bewilderment at his last request. What were they going to use then? Certainly not hers.

Flinching, Kalie uncomfortably paused at the stairs. She hadn't really noticed up until that point.. how painful it could be to be wearing a pair of pants that had taken a dip in the sea.. dried.. and then proceed to rub its sea salt caked self against you. Turning she made a change for the guest rooms, her movements looking a little bowlegged...
Either way she was getting cleaned up, and if none of the rooms had spare clothes in them, she figured Vince had to have a spare pair of pants in his room somewhere.

Sometime later, after the sound of roaring water had dulled to a mere thunder, the sound of footsteps could be herd creeping back and forth through the guest rooms farther down the hallway. A patch of water taking up occupancy with each change in direction. Not even Vince's room had been spared from the newfound plague.. as several small puddles dotted his floor, the mass of it centered around his dresser.
