Minna san no choushi wa dou desu ka?

I'm not sure if your last sentence is correct or not D:

(Romaji de kaite gomen ne. Ane no konpyuutaa o tsukattete, kana dekinai n desu)

Chotto yoku machigaerareru tokoro ga aru kedo, "minna-san" tte chigau n desu. "Minna" dake ka "mina-san" tte tadashii desu.

(I'm sorry for writing in romaji. I'm using my sister's computer and it can't do kana)

You sort of have one thing that's often mistaken; it's incorrect to say "minna-san". Either just "minna" or "mina-san" is correct.

Hajimemashite! um...watashi wa Azrael desu.

I am an extreme beginner. Besides basic curtesies (thank you, your welcome, goodbye, nice to meet you) that's pretty much all I know. There's a small bit I've gathered from watching a lot of anime...but it's not much. sad

はじめまして、アズラエールさん。僕はブライアンです、どうぞよろしく。

Hajimemashite, Azureaaru-san. Boku wa Buraian desu, douzo yoroshuku.

Hey Azrael. I'm Brian, nice to meet you.

Btw...Anime is probably one of the worst ways to learn Japanese, since the characters don't speak anything like actual Japanese people sometimes. Try picking up a book or two, or look up some lessons on google.

Sou ka? Sumi masen sweatdrop doumo arigatou gozaimasu, buraian-san to okono-san ^^;

Watashi no nihongo wa naka naka warui desu. San-kagetsu nihongo o benkyou shite imasu sweatdrop

@Buraian- Genki desu. Dono shuu o kara kimashita?

// Is that so? Sorry ^^; thank you, brian and okono

My japanese is quite bad. I've been studying for 3 months sweatdrop

@Buraian- I'm great. Which state do you live in?
PostPosted: Sun Feb 03, 2008 6:10 pm

Hello again. I pop in here every so often, but not long enough to really carry on a conversation. I'd like to try to post at least a few times this time, hah, so. >.< Oops, sorry for the English.

Watashi wa Ame desu. ;D

Nihongo o yonen benkyou shimasu (shite imasu? ;^; Indeed I am stupid and don't know which form to use). Soredemo, jitsu wa watashi ga imademo heta desu. >< Chotto hazukashii kedo, ima wa benkyou shite ganbatte imasu (<- I seriously improvised there- I have no idea if you really use the -te form, or if you need a particle, or anything...).

Ahh, that was disappointingly short. >>

Eigo de:

I've studied Japanese for four years so far. But despite that, the truth is that even now I'm very bad at it. >< It's a little embarassing, but now I'm trying really hard to study.

It's true. >< I've been self-teaching for four years, and I'm sorely disappointed in myself for not being able to learn more (though the first year or two, I wasn't nearly as enthusiastic about it as I am now). Lately, I've been really motivated, and I've had a lot of resources to work with, so I've been studying hard.

I still consider myself rather a beginner, when it comes to speaking, which is why I'm here.

@Auu~

XD I lol at myself. You've been studying for three months, and I still had to look up kagetsu and nakanaka in the dictionary.

Though, really, there's not really much to converse about here other than learning nihongo. XD Unless anyone has any ideas for something simple we could try to talk about and would like to share them?

Also, sorry for the long post. sweatdrop You'll find I'm quite long-winded.

Hajimemashite, ame =D

Long winded? Omoshiroi desu xD

Daijobu yo, watashi mo hitori de benkyousuru. Koukou ga nihongo no jugyou arimasen.

Kaidan? Ee, senshuu, monosugoku anime no eiga o mimashita - Kumo no mukou, yakusoku no basho. Hontou ni kanashii desu ; o; ichiban daisuki desu

Anata wa dono eiga ga suki desu ka?

// Nice to meet you, ame =D

Long winded? Interesting xD

It's okay, I'm also studying alone. My high school doesn't have japanese classes =__=

Conversation? Well I watched an amazing movie last week called The place promised in our early days (english name). It was very sad and is one of my favorites.

Which movies do you like?
PostPosted: Sun Feb 03, 2008 7:32 pm

Haha, hajimemashite. ^^

Watashi no gakkou ni mo nihongo ga arimasen. x___x

Sou desu ka? Sono eiga o miru koto ga arimasen. Demo, sono eiga o mitemitai desu.

Watashi no ichiban suki eiga wa sutaa uoozu desu. XD Suki dakedo, anooooo.... x___x Eeee, wasureta...

Watashi wa bun o [don't know the verb x__x] no wa totemo osoi desuuuu! gomen nasai!

Tonikaku, ashita wa getsuyoubi desu ne. Getsuyoubi wa nani o suru?

Eigo de:

Haha, nice to meet you too.

My school also doesn't have Japanese. x__x

Really? I've never seen that movie, but I would like to try to.

My favorite movie is Star Wars. XD Even though I like it, umm... uhh... I forgot. (Though I believe what I was trying to say was, "Even though I like it, there are a few of the movies that I haven't watched in a long time," but that obviously didn't work)

I'm very slow at forming sentences. >< Sorry!

Anyway, tomorrow is Monday, right? What do you do on mondays?

Anyone feel free to jump into the conversation if you want. ^^ Even if you have no idea how to say what you want to, you can always use English here and there, or talk about something that you DO know how to talk about.

(As for my mistakes in this one, I'm not sure about some of the words or particles in the first sentence. I'm also not sure about my use of "mitai," or the entire sentence about forming sentences. I know the kanji for sentence can be read "bun," so I went for that guess. If anyone sees any other mistakes, please correct me! ^^)

Honmono.

True.

I'm mostly trying to build my vocabulary. The topic is "beginners" but all of you still surpass me by miles and miles. I don't know many words, or the grammar i.e. which comes first in a normal sentence i.e. verbs, nouns, adjectives, subject, etc.

Blah.

Shiranai watashi. (I think that is correct. I meant to say that I am ignorant or that I lack knowledge.)

Don't worry. In time, you will speak Japanese well. Work hard.

And while anime of course isn't a good learning source, that doesn't mean you can't get anything from it. Watching things has helped me understand some things, as well as get used to difference between different genders in speech, I just don't rely on it and if I'm thinking about using a phrase or something I learned from it, I'll look it up.

いちばん好きなばんぐみですか?そうですね… もうおわってるけど、アレステッド・ディヴェロップメントだと思います。今もやってるのの中では、アンサニー・ボルデーんズ・ノー・レザーヴぇショんズをよくみます。 そのばんぐみのホストみたいに、りょこうしてたくさん食べることができたらいいと思うんですね!

Ichiban suki na bangumi desu ka? Sou desu ne... Mou owatte'ru kedo, Arrested Development da to omoimasu. Ima mo yatte'ru no no naka de wa, Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations o yoku mimasu. Sono bangumi no hosuto mitai ni, ryokou shite takusan taberu koto ga dekitara ii to omou n desu ne!

My favorite show? Let's see... It's already finished, but probably Arrested Development. Out of ones that are playing even now, I often watch Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. I think it would be good if I could travel and eat a lot like the host on that show.

Eigo de:

What, Family Guy? Yeah, yeah.

@Auu~

Haha, I suppose Japanese really is hard.

Though, I think it is "Gakkou ni ikimasu" rather than "Gakkou o ikimasu."

Today, I'm actually not going to school. XD Due to some odd circumstances.

Without school, it really is boring. So I go shopping everyday instead. XD Hahaha!

My favorite show? Umm, I don't know. There really aren't many new TV shows on right now, are there? But there's a ton of Reality TV!

Haha, a little guesswork there as always, so I appreciate corrections.

Also, bold text is loud. It go away.
