Aiketh looked up, slightly startled at their timely entrance.

"No, this is perfect." She smiled at the Knight and beckoned both her and Baran into her immaculatly cleaned office.

"I need to talk to both of you, so I may as well tell you both what I needed to at the same time. Have a seat."

As the two younger members of the Dragon clan seated themselves on a couple of the spare wooden chairs pushed off to the side for just such an occasion, Aiketh began to retell an abbrevated version of what had happened over the past few days. While much of the information was cut short or edited out, it was made clear that there would be an investigation into a surprising prophecy concerning the fate of the Dragon Tribe, and that Celia would be one of those looking into it.

Aiketh shot a quick glance at Baran as she finished, trying to keep a stern face as she watched him lick brown-sugar crumbs off his fingers.

"I would like you to attend the conference tonight, Baran. We have use for your skills, and it will be discussed whether or not you should go with the travelling party as a sort of barometer for magic, or if it would be better if you stay here to warn us back home of any sudden outbursts of magical fighting that we should look into."

Baran nodded, eyes widening as the realization of what was being set before him hit him.

Aiketh looked over at Celia now, studying the young girl carefully and, without taking her eyes off her, spoke to the Dragon Fighter.

"You're dismissed."

"Y-yes, Captain," Baran stood quickly, almost knocking over the chair in his haste. Glancing over his shoulder at the two women briefly, he left the room, mind spinning with the opportunity and importance suddenly thrust upon him.

"Celia," the Dragon Officer started again once the door had closed fully once again, a brief ripple coursing through the room as the magic resettled itself about them. "I know you came here to ask me something yourself, but first I have a question for you."

She faltered for a moment, unsure of how to word her question without leading the girl on to an answer or accidentally push her in one direction or the other.

"I'm sure you heard what I said earlier to Baran. It will be decided later if he will be sent as well or if he'll be kept back here to monitor your process. As part of the voyaging party, Celia, you deserve a say in this. If..." Aiketh paused, then continued. "Would you be comfortable traveling with him? I know you don't know him very well, and I can fully understand if you aren't willing to spend that much time in such close contact with him. He would be equally welcome both with you guys and back here with us."

Aiketh leaned over her desk slightly, trying to impress her neutrality upon the girl.

"Do you have a preferance?"

"I...I don't really...mind either way. He seems like....a very nice person." said Celia, partly owing to the fact that she wanted to try and work on her timidness, and there was no better way than with someone new arround."But....Now i have some questions if you please....This book....it doesn't seem like the accounts in it could be entirely accurate...and if they are.....well.....It tells of several very powerful people being brought back from the dead in one manner or another, and...well, owing to the fact that most of these people were Yokai...I have a bit of a fear that perhapse the means to do so was written down, and perhaps left in the yokai palace....."she said, kind of rambling along to get her thougts accross.

Aiketh nodded, understanding why Celia would be concerned.

"The methods used for bringing the deceased back to life... As far as we know, that information was secret and, in most cases, required the use of extraoridinary skills and magical objects. We have no reason to believe that the Yokai forces have been able to accomplish this task more than once, and that case was a rare one involving abnormal circumstances. It would not be able to be repeated."

She paused, looking seriously into the Dragon Knight of Water's eyes.

"Of course, this does not mean that it doesn't concern us. We have yet to discover written records of our own explaining how to revive the dead, but it is certianly something we will be looking into. Celia," Aiketh continued, her tone slightly lighter, "I know that you are interested in learning more about our past history. If you were to find anything concerning this topic, I would greatly appreciate it if you informed me of it. This includes anything you might come across and read while on the mission."

((Neko is back.. and promptly.. in business? Maybe.. sure.. we'll go with that.. lol ))

Having slipped from his room, Teioz now wandered the hall's since he was packed already, waiting for any suggestion of their departure. He was glad it had finally stopped raining but the bitter smell of the wet earth and leaves made him cringe, but he ignored his brain and put his hands behind his head, his fingers lacing under his ponytail. Then his stomach gave a soft growl and he let out a small sigh, turning right down the next hall, his stomach leading him to the kitchen.

"Of course....I'de be more than happy to help."Celia replied with a warm smile. She had a sudden happy feeling now, because usually she was yelled at on missions when she tried to read; now it was being encouraged! "I should...Probably be getting this back then....I didn't mean to take it out of the library with me...."she said suddenly, when she realized she was holding the journal still. She had forgotten she brought it with.

"Yes..." Aiketh's expression became stern as she too first noticed the tome and fully realized the dangers of removing it from the charm-laden sanctuarary.

"You should not have removed it," she continued, "it could easily be ruined in this wet weather we are having. Go. Put it back quickly."

Unaware of how she was coming across to the timid girl, Aiketh fortunatly added in, "I'll be certain to get a copy of this made for you later so that you can take it with you."

Baran was seated in the kitchen, hoping nervously that none of the cleaning staff would enter and tell him to scat, and wolfing down a makeshift meal from the leftovers he had been able to find of that day's lunch.

He looked up warily as footsteps approached, noting that they didn't sound like they were made by the uniform heels the castle maids wore.

A male figure entered the large room and Baran startled, quickly standing and almost upending his plate as he recognized Teioz, one of his superiors.

"S-sir!"

"A..alright, i'll go put it back....immediately."said Celia, with a nervous nod, as she quickly stood up."and thank you for making me that copy in advance..."she added in a very small voice, as she skittered out the door, heading back to the library.

Taking a step back, his hand over his chest, he gave a softened look to Baran. He gave the dragon fighter a small wave of the hand. "Gave me quite the startled there..." He laughed lightly, his aqua-blue eyes scanning over leftovers that Baran hadn't already gotten his hands on.

Baran sweatdropped slightly, nodding and sitting down again, noticing where the other was looking.

"...Do you want some? There's some more over there, by the stove."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 20, 2005 5:18 am

He perked and looked to the stove, finding exactly what he was looking for. "Ooo.. food...." He mumbled quietly to himself as he grabbed a plate and got some of the leftovers on his plate. Teioz then proceeded over to the small kitchen table with some silverware and took a seat, digging into his food as soon as he could.

Baran paused, looking sidelong at the older man, drumming on the edge of his plate with his fork. He really wanted to ask him about the mission but wasn't sure if he was allowed to do so or even if he was supposed to know about it.

Mentally shrugging, he kept silent, taking a last bite and standing, placing his plate in the sink. No use getting in trouble when he could just get the information later and without risking his head.

((Wow, lo and behold this...))

The sound of low heels clicking on the floor from someone walking briskly down the halls could be heard, the sound coming closer at a fair pace. The person must have been in a hurry because soon after they entered the kitchen.
"Has anyone seen..." The Yellow Officer halted in his sentence as he saw the only two occupants of the room. "There you are, Teioz, I've been looking for you. A ship is getting ready as we speak, only bad thing about it is the amount of time it will take for us to cross that treacherous sea." Illusia said, not looking over at Baran but silently wondering if he hadn't seen that fighter's name on a list somewhere. Sighing in his mind, he reminded himself of either ask Aiketh or find that list, whatever it now had been about. There had been a lot of things happening lately, on such a short time too.

Baran froze, listening intently.

A... Ship? He shuddered. Well, he should've seen that one coming. He had been told something about going to Arinas, but it had never really clicked. It wasn't that he disliked seatravel or wasn't cut out for it, but that he had had quite enough of it when he was younger, thankyouverymuch.

Sighing lightly, he rolled his eyes, praying that none of the others got seasick.
