XX【 】Name: Alexander Magnus
XX【 】Codename: Wraith
XX【 】Team Affiliation: Alpha
XX【 】Location: Danger room to Med Bay
XX【 】Actions: Calmed, introduced to Paladin, went to get patched up

                          Despite looking past his opponent, his eyes did register Paladin. Just as he was attuned for the annoyance of the room changing several times in rapid succession, he recognized the words. His opponent was apparently far more willing to accept the end of the encounter than Wraith was. Of course he is- he was winning! The petulant whine went through his mind quietly, but as the seconds dragged on, he realized that this was how things were now. Paladin offered a compromise. Both had landed shots on the other, and the brute power was being held at bay . . . barely . . . by Wraith’s quick thinking and agility. Despite his personal opinion that he was losing that fight, Wraith could see the convenient ‘out’ being offered to him. Even a rematch. He slowly rose as Paladin approached, and closed his eyes. With his hands before him, he slowly pushed them palms down toward the floor. The motion was like a physical clue he was suppressing his anger and trying to push his mind into a calm state. As he did that, the shadows that covered him began to dissolve, like dust in a downdraft of wind. They fell off of him and disintegrated in a cloud that barely lasted a second before ebbing into the aether. When he opened his eyes again, he was able to smile cordially and returned the gesture of shaking a hand.

                          Roland Chevalier was a name he was determined to commit to memory. This was a person to be very wary of. He was also a mind that knew to be more polite even a moment after the battle. “not good enough ones. Your kick really hurt.” The smile he accompanied that with was genuine, if a bit pained. Wraith knew he had so much further to go, but such a painful reminder was hard to get over. Still, he shook his head against the self-depreciation.
                          “Name’s Wraith. I don’t much like my given name, so this works for me. You are intense as hell, Mr. Chevalier.” A look of both respect and healthy wariness crossed his eyes as he offered the compliment. The armored man was nothing if not a source to stay out of the way from. Wraith couldn’t help but lament that they weren’t on the same team. Their abilities might be complimentary when he stopped to consider the implications. Alpha and Omega. He still didn’t get the distinction, and his only solace was that this mountain of a fighter can’t be the only powerhouse among the group. There had to be an alpha that could stand up to this guy. The trick would be finding them.

                          After releasing the handshake, Wraith looked about and could only marvel at the extravagance of the scene. Mumbling softly, he offered
                          “Somebody reads too many fantasy books.” A banquet hall like this is right out of a game of thrones episode or some Disney movie. The allusion was not lost on him as they could be the most Omega and Alpha examples possible, respectively. The various combatants were each having their own reaction to the change in scenery. Some were talking and evaluating battle strategy. Others were sitting at the newly formed table and ready to just adapt to the situation. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Summers came over the intercom, ordering Siren and Solaris to his office. To say there was going to be some fallout from this would be like calling the ocean damp. The order was shortly followed by an order to hit the showers or the Med bay. He also advised not to get too comfortable. Great. After getting his a** handed to him the idea of continuing was not a high priority for the shadowed mutant. Still, orders were orders. As they left the simulation, any and all debris on their uniforms magically disappeared. As holographic matter, the moment they left the new danger room, the emitters could not sustain the illusion. Any sweat, blood, tears, or . . . other materials . . . were terribly real. As he walked, Wraith felt a bit of ache in his sides and decided he wasn’t too smelly. With a polite nod to Chevalier, he made way for the med bay. Sure enough, he had a few bruised ribs to top off a few heavy bruises and abrasions along his arms and legs. His core was protected, but heavy breathing would hurt for a while.

                          He waited patiently while the appropriate medical actions were taken. Soon he would be back up to full strength, but he could only close his eyes and replay the battle in his head. Each choice was taken making the best of the situation. What he knew combined with his experiences to make the decisions that were most likely to succeed. Each was countered, and he wanted to beat himself up over them, but each time they were the choice he would have made. Instead, he began to evaluate Chevalier. Strong was obvious, but he was hardened like leather. Battle tested. This armored one was a veteran. That gave Wraith some solace. After all, he was a n00b. He knew how to hide and how to run- not fight. So going up against somebody that had been forced to hold his own against peers meant his failure wasn’t so complete. True, he didn’t win- but neither did his enemy. Sometimes, a draw is the best possible outcome. Wraith remembered an analogy that helped: “A compromise is a result neither side enjoys.”

((I skipped out of my post order. If that is a problem, let me know))

As if things couldn’t get more unnerving, a message got sent over the announcement system. She blinked as her body tensed. Her eyes widened at the simulation before her transition into various landscapes in almost the blink of an eye. But finally, the dumpster she had been hiding behind became a palm tree and before her was beautiful waters next to a sandy beach. “H….huh?” She blinked, wondering why things had changed so suddenly. Was this all a part of the game to throw them off?

Wait then, where was her gun? She looked down at her empty hands just as someone unfamiliar (Zahl) spoke in multiple languages. At some point, even though she could not understand him, she did recognize him to be speaking in German. A language held by the people that were neighbors of France who had bested them in World War II for a time. That was as far back history wise as she could remember.

The man (Zahl) did end up speaking in English and now she could properly register what he was saying. The strange part was that even though she figured it was him speaking, his words came over the announcement system rather than out of his own mouth. How was he able to do that? She didn’t think his power could be sound manipulation. Sound could not manipulate technology. At least, she didn’t think it could on this level.

Once again, the simulation changed. She recognized the place to be a dining hall, vaguely similar to the one back home. Now she could clearly see that everyone from both teams were in the room along with the new person (Zahl). Slowly, she stood up while observing others reacting in various ways from sitting at the table to talking to each other. Her eyes focused themselves on the person that likely caused all of this. She swallowed before starting to head towards him.

Just as she got within talking distance, she saw an exit open leaving out of the room. She turned her head and heard Mr. Summers speaking over the announcement system now. She sighed softly. “Well, you have definitely made an entrance.” She said towards Zahl. “Good luck dealing with everyone’s reaction.” She dared to smile faintly at him and then headed out of the exit to hit the showers as Mr. Summers put it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After taking a shower and all, Alex decided to relax until a verdict was given. She didn’t want to be caught up doing school work or anything like that only to have to possibly end up cleaning the X-jet. Oh how she hoped that would not happen.
Hearing some chords caused her to pause in front of the entrance to the lounge. She peaked inside to see Blake looking to be tuning his guitar. “I did not know you played a musical instrument.” Then again, not like she knew a lot about him. But, she did know him to be a kind man at the least. “Do you play it often?” She couldn’t stop herself from asking as she stepped further into the lounge. “Or do you just play whenever?”
For all she knew, maybe he wanted to be alone to his playing. However, she wasn’t sure on that since he chose to be in a public place. “Either way, it is nice to see another person with an interest in music.” She smiled while allowing her hands to mimic her hold on an air flute. “A flute player myself.”
Thoughts: At the end of the day, I shot a h--! Location: [Danger Room] With: Team Alpha :: Jedi
It was a joyous moment. He had actually landed a hit on the foul figure before him, but in truth that had only seemed to anger her further. She cast forth an attack, one that melted and blew up several cars in its path towards him, which prompted the male to move quickly towards another form of defense: The building they were next to. Did he take damage? She got him in his shoulder, the male slightly wincing, but not doubling over in an agonizing scream.
”Oh? So you want me to shoot you in the forehead” he musingly inquired about how shooting her in the back was a mistake. He kept on moving, yelling out to respond. ”Or perhaps in the one place your size shifter still hasn’t managed to hit just right. You’d think what with him being able to shrink and grow, he’d be able to cure the bitchitis of a woman who makes Menopause and PMS at the same time look like a sunny, breezy day in the Spring, but that’s none of my business.”
He probably was on some list of people to hate. Did he care? No. He had no interest to pretend to like people he actually did not care about. He used water to cut the knob of the back door open, prompting the lock as a whole to fall apart. He entered through, making it the first time to contact his very much suicidal partner, August.
”Hey buddy. How’d your date go with Aren? Mine was a match made in hell. I can’t touch her with my powers, at least with a small amount.
He wasn’t even sure if he could lay a finger on her with water to be honest, but fortunately, it appeared he didn’t have to find out. The simulation had changed from the apocalypse to something a little bit more grand. Just when he was certain he could take shots at the woman with his gun like an endless game of with Gravity playing a part. Maybe next time. Somebody had changed the rules to his little game and now it was over. Still, Marcel casually walked at enough pace to avoid the eyes of one particular team leader who might seemingly hold a grudge. He let out a deep breath when he exited the room entirely. Did their attempt to take out two prominent individuals pay off? Only time would tell, though to be honest, cleaning the X-jet hardly seemed like a punishment.
He was casually enjoying tea in a chair, reading through a book as he awaited the final results of this little exercise given the interruption of somebody new (Zahl). He sustained no major damage. His suit took most of the burns from his run in with her.
OOC: Apologies for the massive delay. I did ask for people to skip me twice,
but I guess it fell through. My apologies as my connections to the Internet wasn't strong for me to get to the Absence thread to actually post, so I had to inform via Skype. I'm back now and just like here, I'm catching up in a few other guilds, so another huge apology if my post is a bit short lol. Let me know if there's anything particularly I needed to add or missed.
                                                                                    Even through the screams, she could still hear Blake’s sass. Oh, she was going to kick his a** as soon as they were out of this mess. She took off, trying to save her ears from bleeding as she dove into a building. It was a hard run, and the glass cutting her to s**t wasn’t exactly fun. But she kept going until her brain was relieved from the feeling of the scream. She rolled her eyes once she came to a rest and was communicating with her bestie through the comm for everyone on their team to hear.
                                                                                    “Yeah, well, I didn’t know that.” She was beyond annoyed, but the feeling had to be short lived when it seemed that her warning about the building behind occupied went unheard as she felt the rumble beneath her. She swore and was back to running. It was almost like a scene from Tomb Raider or Temple Run. This was getting out of hand.
                                                                                    She dove for the fire escape of the other building, her arms burning from the hang before she dropped down and go to the ground level before the next building toppled from under her. When she landed on the ground, she dropped onto her a** and fell back, laying on the dirty ground of the alleyway, breathing hard.
                                                                                    “Yeah, well, you just put another sixty years on my body with all the stress.”
                                                                                    But, he drug her back up and they were moving again. They couldn’t stay still with a team of Alphas hunting them down.
                                                                                    “And you’re not allowed to tell me to watch my language when you DROP A BUILDING ON ME!” She wanted to punch him in the shoulder, but had the distinct feeling that he wouldn’t forgive her easily if she broke his arm.
                                                                                    They came to a stop when a voice sounded over the announcement comm within the room. She looked at Blake, confusion pretty obvious on her face before the simulation around them fell away and switched to a beach. She looked around as Blake spat a joke out and she had to fight the urge to laugh, only shaking her head at him before the simulation changed again before coming to an anticlimactic end.
                                                                                    ------
                                                                                    Alice had to visit the infirmary for all the cuts on her arms and face, though most of them she would rather just let them scar, but there was still some glass in others that needed to be treated properly. She had to have one cut on her cheek especially treated. If they weren’t mutants, with a mutant healer on base, she would have needed stitches in a few of them.
                                                                                    But, soon she was as good as new, despite a distant ache in her body from the amount of work she had just put into the simulation. Turns out that running and jumping, and dropping buildings, didn’t feel the best on the joints. When she was cleared, she entered the lounge after asking Blake where he was going to be hanging out before she had even gone to the med bay.
                                                                                    She plopped down on the couch across from her friend, her head falling onto the back of the couch as her eyes closed. She pretty much was ignoring the other people trying to talk to her BFF. She was absently rubbing her arms with her hands, massaging the ache out of them, or at least trying to.
                                                                                    “I think it’s considered abuse to let it get that out of tune.” She muttered sarcastically to her friend before lifting her head and looking across the room at him. “I’m still going to get pay back for dropping a building on me, by the way. You just wait.”
                                                      This is a fight for love, lust, hate, desire
Tᴇᴀᴍ Aʟᴘʜᴀ :: Fᴇᴇʟɪɴɢ Scared out of her mind and a little confused :: Lᴏᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ Kitchen ::
Cᴏᴍᴘᴀɴʏ Wolf mutant and Tiger mutant...? :: Wᴇᴀʀɪɴɢ After Simulation :: Iɴ Hᴇʀ Hᴇᴀᴅ PLEASE BE A BAD MOVIE PLEASE BE A BAD MOVIE... ::
Collin really hoped she was just in one of those B horror films- Werewolf vs Talking Tiger...but unfortunately for the young mutant this was just a hopeful delusion. She sat a couple of feet away, gripping her side from being thrown by the wolf man, and projected shield in the other hand. She was shaking so bad she could barely hold the plasma's form. She should've taken this time to run, but every time that wolf glared and snarled in her direction she froze stiff, feeling the color drain from her face. She could hear shots firing in the distance. She was ninety-seven percent sure that it was Alex.
These two...well they were still people in a way but they seemed to be keeping each other preoccupied. The tiger had a blue health bar, so it was good to know at least one of them was on her side, but she needed to find a way to sneak away and help Alex. This tiger shifting teammate could obviously take care of them-self, but Alex's powers weren't meant for a physical fight from what she understood. The wolf man was focused on her from when she turned her music back on, his snarling bloodthirsty face shook her to the core. It was probably luck that he didn't see how her powers were working, but all she made was a shield, she needed something to get out of there...
Wolfman attacked but Tiger held her ground against the assault, but Collin fell back from practically leaping out of her skin. She felt her side begin to ache was when she was thrown earlier and gritted her teeth,
'What'd'I do....dammit!'
She looked around away from the battle and upwards. It was a average height ceiling, she could reach it like the ladder earlier. She scooted back further away from the animals and kneaded her shield and, like making sausage, she thinned out her construct as long as she could, coiling it in her lap. She stood only after the two had each other in a death grip of fangs. She was astonished when Tiger got flung across the room by wolf man. She panicked and rose up ignoring the shaking in her legs. She had a plan but this one would take it's place. She lassoed the construct rope and threw as hard as she could towards wolf-man and tightened it around his neck, she'd surely make a jokes about dogs and leashes but she was about to vomit from how scared she was so that could be saved for later. Her grip shook and the lasso construct started to lose it's shape erratically, she just had to hold him, ’Just a little bit please please-!' The song began to end on her set, she recognized the chorus line. The shaking became worse and as Wolf man began to go after Tiger the construct thinned. She was tugged along and fell forward. The construct was wrapped around her wrist so she went along for the ride,“Omph-!”
Getting knocked around at the end of a leash wasn't making her side feel any better, but she felt herself stop and bounce away as the lass thinned to the point it snapped. The snap was loud, the sound waves released from the break, but it did nothing to stop him from going after his target. She rasped a low groan and lifted her head. She saw him on top of her teammate, yet another one she can't help. She could see him going for her neck- he wouldn't kill them, would he? This was just a simulation not an actual fight right? She couldn't feel her legs and her gaze was fixed- she ran. She ran towards her comrade, tripping multiple times but not stopping, ‘STOP! STOP IT! STOP IT!’ For a split second she saw him back away from her comrade's neck, in fact he back away to allow them to stand. Collin slowed her run and stood just a bit away from the wolf now. He looked back at her and she flinched a step back, but didn't stop staring back, "Leave them alone! You were throwing me around remember?" Her hands fidgeted into sign as she struggled to be even slightly intimidating. Maybe this could serve as a quick enough distraction for Tiger at least.
It was like her eyes were malfunctioning. The scenery around them changed, like a bad signal on a TV. She shut her eyes and rubbed them, the change was beginning to make her head spin. She opened them and- well she wasn't sure if she was hallucinating now or not but it looked like they were in a ballroom of some sort. It was antique fancy, but what the heck was happening?! A voice echoed over the intercom, telling them to relax. Her jaw dropped along with her entire self to the floor. She looked up at the ceiling and covered her face with both arms folding over. It was finished- the simulation was over...Random spurts of tears left her eyes and rolled back down her face getting into her hair and ears. She had made it, she was crying for relief, it felt like her legs were waking up from a long numbness, so many pins and needles! She could hear people moving around but didn't move her arms, it was too embarrassing to cry in front of these guys. A gruff huff caught her attention and she peeked through her arms and the wolf man was standing before her. She tightened her fists and bit her lip, did he not want the fight to be over? Her arms turned to noodles and shock overtook her face, he signed "GG" to her. He knew sign! She remembered him paying attention to when she had called him out earlier, but didn't really think of it til now. He had his hand, or paw in this case, extended to her. He seemed pretty calm, he had tossed her around like a ragdoll, but he didn't look like someone who would do any kind of underhanded attack- he was too forward from what she's seen. She took his hand, a little shaky still, and stood before him. He was really tall in this form it didn't ease her worry of him attacking again. She looked at her feet then back to him with the tips of her fingers at her mouth. She moved her hand forward from her mouth towards him and continued to say,
"Thank you. I could've done better..." Her signing slowed- could she have done better?
Someone else approached, an Alpha named Katerina, and it clicked now that she was the tiger, the person who basically saved her butt from becoming a chew toy. First thing the girl asked was if she was alright. Collin was a little taken back and reacted slowly with a nod. She then turned to the wolf man and started to talk to him. It actually seemed like she wanted to fight him some more. That was someone who was really sure of their abilities. Collin stared at her hands, little cuts and gruff littered them. She slumped and put her headphones on. She signed to Katerina,
"Thanks for saving my butt. I promise I won't be a problem next time..." Before she turned the music up the headmaster's voice took over the loudspeaker and told everyone to hit the showers and go to med bay if need be. She was sore but at least it wasn't a chunk of her missing. He said the results would come shortly but not to get comfortable- great. She turned up the volume and walked out of the simulation...
--------Later After Simulation-------
Collin laid upside down on her bed, music blaring from her stereo. Every couple of moments she would punch the air. She rolled out of her bed and took a stance and started to stretch. She felt refreshed after a nice shower and glad she wasn't wearing her uniform anymore, but what was going to happen now? She felt achy still and wasn't enthusiastic about another "game". She couldn't stop thinking about the wolf man. He was like a real wolf in a fight, it was really scary. She thought her dad was frightening, now she had a whole other tier to contend with. She sighed silently and turned off her stereo. She couldn't slump in her room forever. She put her headset on and turned up the volume to almost max levels and left her room.
Her arms folded into each other as she strolled, not really going anywhere in particular. She passed door way upon door way, not paying attention to look. As she turned corner she came by another door way, only this time a head of familiar blonde hair. She almost fell over stopping in her tracks. She ran into the lounge and hugged her without thinking, knocking her blaring headphones off one side her head. She mouthed out words she was so excited to see Alex okay. She let go seeing another and back away with her hands up,
"Sorry didn't mean to interrupt..." she knew Alex didn't sign and this guy probably didn't know either. Her eyes fixed on the guitar, man it'd be nice to play that for a bit...
They landed on the hardwood floors of the hallway and Aren slid to a stop a bit away after somersaulting through the attack and landing on his feet. It was lithe and agile, that was for sure. Or at least he was until August reverse the gravity in the room.
                                                                                    The gravity manipulator moved easily through the shift, landing on his feet while Aren slammed into it. He started firing shots at the Omega when he saw him shrink and disappear. He started shooting a bit erratically, aiming for something that he couldn’t see until Aren was right in front of him. He swung, clocking August in the jaw as he shot sarcasm back at the Alpha.
                                                                                    Gravity shifted again, becoming lower as he floated, rubbing his jaw when Aren disappeared back through the window.
                                                                                    “And here I thought it was because of my outfit.” He watched for a moment out the window, trying to track where Marcel was through the opening when the man’s voice came from his side. He jumped, turning and looking at him. “It isn’t over yet.”
                                                                                    Just as August was about to bubble the gravity around Aren and send him shooting up into the air and get him away from the blonde, the ground disappeared from beneath him and turned into the even sand of a beach. He looked around, clearly confused at what was happening when an announcement started over the intercom. He looked over at Marcel, suddenly distracted from the fight that they were supposed to be having.
                                                                                    “And this dude is supposed to be on our team.” He rolled his eyes, “He better be cute.” The ground shifted again and they were in the middle of some fancy pants restaurant that August wouldn’t be caught dead in. Finally, the door appeared and they were supposed to get lead out.
                                                                                    ------
                                                                                    August was standing outside one of the doors of the facility. Leaning against the wall with a cigarette hanging out between his lips. His head resting against the wall, along with the heel of one of his feet as he drew in the smoke, feel them burn a path through his lungs before breathing the smoke out his nose like a dragon.
                                                                                    He was thinking about the simulation, and what Marcel had said about his powers not being able to do anything to Narcissa. Maybe they needed more water. Maybe she was just untouchable. Which was ridiculous. She was no Phoenix. Their teams should have been evenly matched. So, if water wasn’t doing s**t to her, then who was it on the Alphas that could take Cissa on?
                                                                                    If Aren and August had more than just a small little punching match, then it would be interesting to see who would come out on top of that fight. Speaking of, he should find the man and make sure there were no hard feelings between the two of them. When his cigarette was almost gone, he breathed out his last puff and dropped it onto the cement beneath his feet and ground the embers out before kicking it into the grass.
                                                                                    August went back inside, walking through the halls and looking for the size shifter. He had to ask a few people that he passed if they had seen him. Finally, someone said that they had seen the Native on the range and August started heading that way. The door hissed as it opened up for him, entering the archery range and watching as the man before him stood tall, bow drawn tight. He waited until he fired before speaking up.
                                                                                    “Hey, I was lookin’ for ya. Just wanted to make sure there were no hard feelin’s between the two of us.” He leaned against the far wall, pretty confident in the fact that the size shifter wasn’t going to turn that bow on him. He waited a moment for a reply before continuing. “So, the leaders are gettin’ reamed pretty bad by Scott, huh?”
                                                                            'Cause finding what you got sometimes
                                                                            xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
                                                                            means finding it alone
Dimitri Otengam, Codename: Playboy, Location: Danger Room, then Pool
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Thank you very much Miss Landslide." D replied. "If you need some first class TLC, don't hesitate to call." And she didn't, but it was Transmigration that was on her bucket list. It was all in good fun.
Dimitri did his small part in helping out Julian and the newbie. Standing tall on another building he would regain his breath before making another blitz at the omegas. He had a few targets in mind, shuffling through them in his head while getting a head start. The alpha reached the precipice before hearing another unknown voice. He came to a halt and suddenly the city setting  was wiped out.
"Whoa..." Now instead of an urban theme it was tropical. Automobiles were replaced with simulated trees, dirty streets and debris were traded in for golden sand and seashells during a sunset. Was this part of the sim? Switching up environments to adapt to whatever was thrown at them? Because it didn't sound, nor felt like it.
The alpha kept himself aflot from the building being erased from under his feet and descended slowly to the sands."....Soooo did we have an alpha fair Siren, or did you score a two for 1 deal?"
His answer was the latter. Otengam didn't know what the 1st "Alpha" had under their sleeve but this one who had walked through a door something to do with manipulating technology and being trilingual. This was all part of his introduction. Dimitri glanced back and forth like his eyes were tennis balls and gripped his laser glock. He was hearing out the new Alpha but technically they were still in the simulation.
He mentioned a dinner party and instantly it changed. Now instead of sand they were on clean floors of a formal hall being walked on by waiters and waitresses. The trees vanished and priceless paintings filled the walls. "Um Bella?... Just who is this guy? And how is able to crack into the simulation?" Dimitri asked over his comm. And he meant more than just the name Zahl.
"I'll stand, thanks." Dimitri had the suit to match the party theme but he wasn't going to get caught off guard that easy. Which meant that some of the omegas had to be thinking the same as well. The Playboy waited for a move before he would fire off more rounds and try to get some cover.
But the sound of authority placed an end to that, along with any other strategies everyone else had. Cyclops placed an end to the simulation with the winner being up in the sky for the time being. "What's he mad about?" Was what D thought for a short period until the fact that maybe the simulation being hacked, killing bystanders leveling a building had something to do with it.
"Dibs on not doing the interior if we lose..."
T/S
Dimitri was one of the few who had actually went for the showers after the simulation. It would be one of the two showers he would have today. He walked out the showers towards the pool with his speedo and swimming goggles. "And here i thought i was going to be able to build a sweat in the danger room."
After a quick stretch he submerged his entire body in the water, letting out a relaxing breath coming up to the surface. They had better been victorious from the danger room. An interference? Fine, but how would their team lose when they didn't place nobody in danger or became the demolition crew. Dimitri didn't let himself stress about it too much. The thoughts crept back into the depths of his mind when he placed his feet on the wall and shot off like a cannonball; channeling focus more towards his swim workout instead.
Roland Anton Chevalier
Location: Danger Room
Thoughts: End of the exercise, and getting ready for whatever comes next
User Image And with that, in a matter of a few seconds and a few random changes in scenery, the combat simulation came to an end. Rather than make the already chaotic situation any more insane, Roland offered up an out to his opponent. No sense in letting what couldn’t be controlled, in the literal sense given the situation, get them angry. Besides, he had a good amount of emotional release knocking him around. He felt a bit bad about him getting roughed up as a consequence, but well, he couldn’t deny that being in that situation wasn’t an unpleasant experience.
He watched him press down the rage within him, watching the shadows that flowed about him disappear off into the nothingness of the cosmos. The Alpha introduced himself by his codename Wraith, and reciprocated the handshake the brawler had offered. He made a crack about his ribs, to which Roland chuckled a bit “Sorry about that, no hard feelings right?” he offered, “Nothing a little ice and some bandages won’t fix.”
“I wouldn’t say that I’m intense, just dedicated to my job. However, the thought is appreciated.” Truth be told the man did have a nice set of moves. It was clever how he used the shadows, and his own natural skill, to his advantage.
Remarking on his thoughts about the décor, in particular the Disney vibe, he offered his thoughts, “Perhaps someone who grew up around castles in his life?” musing a bit further, “I noticed the guy had a bit of an accent, German I think? Least that’s my guess.”
He nodded at Wraith as he left the simulation, the announcement from Cyclo[s telling them to hit the showers. He decided to do just that. Heading to the showers, he decided to get himself cleaned up. The warm water had a soothing effect on him, it washed over him and made him feel clean.
Grabbing a towel he took his comm and reached out to Kerrigan, “Hey, I just grabbed a shower and I might head over to the kitchen. What do you have planned while we’re on standby?” He made himself move fast as he got to his room, to change into something more comfortable. After all, knowing their luck they’d be going into the field soon.
And he sure as hell wasn’t going to go in his workout clothes.
                                                                                Me either. And God knows I can’t cook. Unless you want to live on PB and J for the rest of your days...” She said, lamenting that their two short-order chefs were nowhere to be found. Her mouth felt as though she’d swallowed a cotton ball when she thought of the bleak future their dinner might hold.
                                                                                Shrugging at Daylia’s question regarding Felix, the corners of her mouth lifted toward the heavens. “I can’t.” She admitted. “You just never know with that one…
                                                                                Narcissa had put them on babysitting duty at the start of the simulation, but the hazel-eyed mutant could not, for the life of her, remember the kid’s name. Staying true to her own fears, she voiced her opinion how this might play out on the field, and Daylia quickly denied any truth to the observation. But like it or not, Emlen had a plethora of reasons to be wary… All starting and ending with the husband she couldn’t seem to get rid of. “I wouldn’t put it past him…” She said, staring at her feet as they walked. Bruce was anything but predictable.
                                                                                Their conversation shifted when Alice and Blake bade the Omegas to steer clear of the buildings. “Well, if they do it on purpose, maybe they can learn to control how it happens?” She tried.
                                                                                Then it became her turn to cheer the phaser up. Citing Kitty Pryde as her favorite X-men, she bumped the redhead with her hip. “I’m sure you will. Just takes practice and time, apparently.
                                                                                Once the buildings started coming down, it got a little easier to find their charge. Her head bobbed when she called him tall, dark and handsome, and Daylia nearly face-palmed. “He could be ‘Pom-pom’ if you like.” She said, pressing her fingers to her lips as she stood back to contemplate it. “Sounds girly enough to cut that ego… and only you and I will know that it’s inspired by ‘pompous.’
                                                                                They probably would have teased poor Micah until the cows came home… if fog hadn’t started circling their feet. Daylia slid in a joke about black guys dying first in horror movies, and it was an effort for Gracie not to lose it. “Wow.” She said, stifling her giggles behind a cough. “Had to go there, huh?
                                                                                Pointing at the fog, her fingertips became their own vibrant flashlights, and she stared down at them. “Wonder if they’re bright enough to temporarily blind someone. Hey Pom-pom… we’ll test your vision.” She said, wiggling her fingers in front of his face.
                                                                                Dissatisfied with the randomness of her hex bolts, Gracie tried again… this time sending flames to rain on the asphalt. The low-hanging clouds evaporated quickly. “No… I normally don’t get that lucky that it works exactly how I think it should. With the exception of explosions. I’m really good at those.” She said, clicking her tongue against her teeth in frustration. “But at least that time was effective.
                                                                                Before they could start using any Alphas as target practice though, the New York City skyline disappeared as a beach formed to take its place. Listening to the announcement overhead, she cocked her head to one side and threw a hand sassily at her hip. “Wait. Was that a win for us or them?” And by the way she asked it, it was pretty clear to figure out who she wanted to claim victory.
                                                                                **
                                                                                Nightmare on Elm Street was always good with popcorn, she had said. But as she stared at the microwave-shaped silhouette made entirely of ash… she decided popcorn didn’t sound as good as it had five minutes ago.
                                                                                The smoke alarm started blaring just about then, cueing the sprinklers on the ceiling to start raining down on any potential fire. Exasperated, she dropped her hands to her sides, both in frustrated fists. Perfect.I really hope…” She murmured aloud, scarlet heat racing up the back of her neck in embarrassment. “That the fire alarm system doesn’t go facility wide.” Because if they were, everyone in the damned school was going to know how Emlen Grace Covington-Hawthorne had blown up a microwave, the kitchen appliance that was supposedly idiot-proof.
                                                                                "And this is why, my next husband has to know how to cook." She muttered, completely deadpan.
Cameron Azrak
Aero
At least it isn't another barracks.
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Crunch, crunch, crunch was the same sound that Cameron had heard for the past 20 minutes. An annoyed expression forming under his keffiyeh that was tightly wrapped around his head and face, a present he had gotten from a local on one of his tours. "Why do I always do this? Why didn't I charge my phone before the flight? I could be listening to music. But no, f*cking idiot.." Cameron spoke to himself. It had easily been an hour and a half of hiking. The only thing that kept him going was the idea of a nice hot shower, because any unnecessary amount of time in the cold was unwanted.
At least another 20 minutes of monotonous crunch and maneuvering through snow capped foliage and Cam was certain he was there... maybe. He also had no means to get a hold of anyone at the present time because his phone was dead too.
"God..." Cam muttered under his breath as he looked around the desolate waste. "DAMN THIS F*CKING BLASTED SNOWCONE." He finally bellowed. Kicking snow. His snowshoe caught a clump of ice and snapped, sending him to his knees. "AGHHHH! F*CK!" Throwing the map and compass to the snow he punched the ground, pockets of oxygen welled up at the end of his fists and burst outward, sending powdered snow everywhere.
After a few moments, he looked up, finally realizing he was being watched. Looking up to an almost wry. Storm, the one who he had been in contact with mostly in regards to coming to the facility to aim for a future he wanted to give to his daughter.
"This way Mr. Azrak, we don't want to lose you to hypothermia before you can even join your team." Storm beckoned him towards an entrance he would never have found on his own. She started giving him the rundown of the team set up, layout of the base as needed. "The common area is on the second floor, your dorm assignment is on one of the lower ones, you can find it on the floor layout." She went on her way after explaining the basic layout of the base.
Food. He needed food after that arduous journey.
It was a few seconds after he decided to eat that he noticed something in the air a strange odor. His duffle bag in hand and backpack weighing down on the trek he worked the handle and opened the door. Ominously the door seemed to open with incredible ease and he stepped back a bit. "If this thing slams on me when I walk in, I'm just going to choke myself out and haunt someone, because f**k any creepy a*s haunted sh*t this place might be."
As Cameron finally stepped in, weary of the place he would soon call home. A large foyer with a lot of spacious direction, this definitely was different from the normal barracks. Given the time and the horrendous smell of burnt popcorn, he followed the scent back to the kitchen. He had no idea where to go, but food was the universal connection to every human.
Upon reaching the doorway of the kitchen, the lingering odor of buttery burnt popcorn polluted his nostrils and he looked to Emlen who was standing in front of the microwave.
Cam put his bag down and moved his way towards the microwave. He hit the vent fan, the one that was normally meant for food burning in the oven or something on the stove. He gave a slight smirk and started wafting the foul burning scent downward, in hopes it would get carried away into the vents.
"The names Cameron. I'm new here. I'm looking for a.... 'Narcissa Lucania,' she's my squad leader. I've been assigned to the Omegas." Cameron spoke up. He extended his hand out and gave a slight smile of kindness, with a hint of concern. How can someone f*ck up a microwave? There's literally a button that says 'popcorn.'
The kitchen was immaculate. He was going to have a world of fun here. Cameron's favorite past time, second only to drinking. Unfortunately, it seemed like drinking would be difficult to do here. Not that hr would give alcohol to minors, but places like this tended to be stricter with alcohol policies. Good thing when he learned to cook, he learned to distill. But that would be his own little secret in a place that noone really knew him.
                      Annoying, but smart.” Aren countered, shaking his head as he stifled a chuckle. “I guess he’s been abused by one too many Omegas recently to stick around.” He said with a toothy grin.
                      They kept walking, only for the fog at their feet to grow more dense. And before Narcissa could fully warn him, Aren found himself somersaulting into a building with August attached to him. Cissa was left outside to handle Marcel, while he played touch and go with the newer Alpha.
                      Dipping out on the man, he landed next to the blond, relaxing unwillingly in her presence. “I don’t know his codename… but Felix, in his insecurities that I am a better man than him, told him I batted for the other team…” Rolling chocolate eyes, he pushed strands of hair from his face. “He was using the attack in order to snag a date.” Even as he said it, his tone painted the whole thing with humor only he could find.
                      Confidently, Narcissa instructed him to stay out of the line of fire, and he nodded. “I’d rather not be cooked again, thanks.” He agreed, sidestepping as she shot out light from her hands. But before they could do any damage to the Alphas, umbrellas, sand and water replaced the city.
                      Just when things were getting interesting.” He muttered, sounding disappointed for once that a simulation was over.
                      **
                      Not unlike Narcissa, Aren missed the sun. He missed real wind whipping at his face, the smell of earth and the forest… The archery range was as close to home as he could feel being stuck underground. His features fell still as he eyed the target on the opposite side of the range, waiting for the target to move. He let the arrow fly just as August made his presence known. Even with the distraction, it hit dead center.
                      Glancing over to the man, he shrugged, letting his bow fall to his side. “And here I was worried I might have hurt your feelings.” Aren said, his lips upturned toward the skies. “I’m sure Felix would take you up on that date offer though.
                      He honestly didn’t know what Scooter might say to them. Thinking, he reached for the invisible tether he had with Narcissa, and found annoyance at the end of it. “Probably. I think he wants us to take those match-ups a little more seriously…
                      Himself included. The entire reason they couldn't shoot themselves out was due to him and Dom trying it before. Brushing the back of his head with his spare hand, he feigned guilt. “I just never cared that much about the competitive side of sims..."
                      The sprinklers overhead went off then, and he looked up as the alarms started screeching. "Do we even want to know?"
§ Location: Simulation Room
§ Thoughts: Oops, seems I made a few people mad.
§ Others: A lot of people in this simulation room
INDENT"§" Zaphiel was a bit surprised more people didn't take defensive stances to the sudden change in environments, a lot just relaxed. He must have really interrupted an important exercise, but Bella had wanted him to introduce himself at some point. He shrugged and let the simulation settle on the dinner party. Letting go of the control he had was nice, though he kept up with the comms. There was plenty of confusion to be had on what he was capable of, but a lot of the individual fights settled in. Zaphiel gave his hand a flourish, and connected his voice to the comms, talking to everyone. "I hope we all become good friends, even if we are on different teams. My introduction may have given quite the hint, but for transparency, I am a technopath, with a strong inclination towards networks, computers, and cyber intelligence. It is a pleasure to see all of you. It is up to the team leaders, but I think it is safe to say that this simulation has run its course." He smiled and sat down, hoping others would relax too. The reason for the dinner party theme would become self evident: a welcome party. Zaphiel had taken care of his introduction scene, now it was time to figure out his place upon the teams.
INDENT"§" TIME SKIP
INDENT"§" Zahl hadn't done much in the way of fighting, but he was still tried and sweaty. Keeping so firm of a grip on slippery software was kind of tiring, so he went to the lounge after a brief shower. He wondered if anyone would want to talk to him. He hoped they would, as he was really excited to meet his team, but he had also interrupted a training simulation. If all else failed, he would have to hunt someone down to talk to them, maybe even Bella if she was free. While he waited, Zaphiel's mind wandered to the network the mansion was using, studying its defense protocols. He could see some ways to improve it, but he would need to get permission first...
                                                                Beggin’ your pardon, Aftershock… but it doesn’t look like you aged sixty years.” He said, his grin a lopsided smear across his face. Helping her off the ground, Alice glowered up at him when he reminded her to watch her language. “Situation or not, that mouth makes angels cry.” Blake responded tartly. “So yes I am.
                                                                Their running from Bella’s group ended then, as the scene was replaced with something more akin to a vacation spot. Asking about rum-runners, Alice stifled her laughter at the query and shook her head. “What? As Jimmy Buffet would say… ‘It’s five o’clock somewhere.’” And he certainly could use a drink.
                                                                **
                                                                After a shower and a change into some regular clothes, Blake found himself in the lounge with a pad of paper in front of him as he tuned the guitar. Moving the fender on the neck of the instrument, he tried another chord before tightening the strings again. Not expecting company so soon, he nearly jumped when Alex popped her head in. “I haven’t had much of a chance since returning to the team life.” He said, doing his best to keep that thick southern tone from sounding bitter. Tapping the mahogany base of her lovingly, he smiled. “On the road, this sweet girl got me through quite a bit of otherwise company-free nights.
                                                                I felt inspired to try my hand at composing…Not that I’m very good.” He added humbly. “But, I figured I should hold off on the drinking I intend to do until after the winners of the sim are determined, now was as good a time as any.” Not that he owed her an explanation, but the blond seemed friendly enough.
                                                                She imitated a flute player’s pose and smiled. “I’ve heard a couple of contemporary pieces lately using a flute… very folksy.” He said conversationally, nodding at Alice when she plopped onto the couch.
                                                                She accused him of abuse for letting his beloved Gibson Advanced, and he had to agree. “She’s too pretty to be locked in a case for so long…” He said appreciatively, ignoring her sarcasm entirely. Alice warned him of an impending payback and he shrugged. “So long as I get to wash out your mouth with some soap.” He responded without missing a beat.
                                                                Glancing up at Alex, he grinned, and held one hand up to his face to shield his mouth. Mock whispering, his accent sounded thick as cold molasses. “She’s got a very dirty mouth… My mama would cry if she ever heard those words.” Come to think of it, perhaps he should bring her around his family after all.
                                                                Before he could voice that thought, one of the newer Alphas barreled into the lounge and hugged the girl from behind, her headphones blaring. Chuckling he nodded to the girl in greeting, assuming she’d not be able to hear over that racket in her ears. “Seems you got a fan, Alex.
                                                                The fire alarms went off, and Blake rushed to cover his Gibson before it could get water damage. Glancing up at the ceiling, the water basically poured over his eyes. "Wonder how long that's going to continue." He said good naturedly.
((Edited))
She heard his explanation for why he hadn’t had the time. She could understand that. Sometimes, she got too busy to have any time to play her flute, let alone the energy. With years of practice though, it didn’t take too long for her to get out of her rustiness. “Guess now was better time than any?” She mentioned, not expecting him to elaborate if he didn’t want to. Everyone had their reasons for when they decided to do something.
Blake went on mention the company the guitar gave him. “Music does have a lovely way of making things like that better.” Then again, she was used to being in her room by herself. Living in a place full of people didn’t mean she never experienced being alone. “You sound like you really do enjoy your guitar.” She learned early on that not everyone that picked up an instrument truly enjoyed it. Some were honestly forced to by their parents. What a bad way to introduce someone to music.
A slight giggle escaped her lips. She had a feeling he probably wasn’t the only one holding back on celebrations. “Sounds like a good reason to me.” She responded back with a smile. “Probably a safer option too right now in case you all happen to be the ones cleaning the X-jet.” She decided for a jest figuring he would be the type to not take offense. If he did though, she would know not to do that next time.
“Oh yes. I have heard some of those pieces recently. I am more used to hearing flutes used for classical music, but it is nice to hear a more contemporary use of them.” She said that just as she noticed someone coming into the room and plopping on the coach. If she recalled right, the person’s name was Alice. But, she couldn’t recall ever having personally talked to her before. She waved at Alice. However, Alice clearly had her attention focused on Blake.
She lowered her hand as a result, not wanting to appear awkward. When Alice mentioned a building and all, she blinked and looked between the two. “Wait, were you the two we were warned about dropping buildings during the simulation?” Her tone remained inquisitive. Even though she didn’t think she could bring herself to do the same, she did recognize the citizens inside were not real. Real looking sure but not real people nether the less. “Did you two lose all your health due to that?”
After saying that, Blake clearly pretended to whisper to her. She covered her mouth to muffle her giggle just a tad. “Well there is always a muzzle…” She used that joke right? To silence someone like a muzzle silenced a dog? Before she could correct herself just in case, she felt someone wrap their arms around her. She squeaked slightly in surprise while turning her head. The person turned out to be Colin who she hadn’t seen since they got separated during the simulation.
“It is nice to see you too. Are you okay?” She blushed slightly at hearing Blake’s comment. “I guess so.” The blush went away shortly after as she saw Colin’s message. “It is alright. I just showed up myself. If anything, I more so interrupted Blake.” She rubbed the back of her neck with a sheepish smile. “So, I am sure you are fine.” Alex hoped so anyway.
The sound of the fire alarm caused her to tense. It didn't help that water poured down on them from the ceiling now. "I hope not long..." She raised her hands over her head, trying to block the water the best she could. So much for a completely relaxing time.
“Anyway, who knew a simulation could be hacked right? I had no idea a technopath could do that.” She changed the topic since there wasn't anything they could do about the sprinklers. “Kind of cool yet scary too…” She admitted with a faint frown on her face. “I just hope that does not happen again.” Speaking of said technopath, she turned her head and happened to notice him sitting in the lounge as well. She blinked at the sight of the man. When had he come in? “Speaking of, there is he over there. Zaphiel I believe is his name.”
Since the man sat off by himself, she wasn’t sure if he wanted anyone to interact with him. But, she did not feel it wrong to point him out….right? “That was definitely a way to make an introduction.” She remarked and looked back at the three nearby her. “Better than anything I could have done.” A faint shrug left her before smiling once again. “Then again, maybe that is for the best only one of us can do that, huh?” Because if there was more than one technopath hacking the simulation, they might not get anything done.
Name: Narcissa "Cissa" Grace
Codename: Solaris
Team: Omega
Location: Sim Room to Scooter's Ofc
                                                    User Image
                                                    Aren landed beside her on the street and Narcissa rolled her eyes. They couldn’t even detain one of her Omega’s for more than three minutes? How, exactly, did they hope to win this? He filled her in about the Alpha that had decided it was best to divide and conquer. Briefly, she remembered the flash of him she’d seen in the illusion. If Aren didn’t know him there were only so many people it could be. “Jedi.”, she answered after a moment for the size shifter. She seemed almost as if she was on auto-pilot. Narcissa might hold a teeming dislike for anyone wearing black and blue—But she firmly believed in ‘knowing thy enemy’. A flash of him, knowing that he was knew, was really all she needed to piece it together.
                                                    Most of the time the small blond just pretended that she didn’t know who people were to emphasize how little they mattered. No one save Aren would notice how her mood changed when he mentioned that the newer Alpha had accosted him for a date. She was already irritated. Her annoyance would flare and singe the edges of the invisible tether that rang between them. She couldn’t stop Aren from feeling what she felt and it only served to frustrate her further.
                                                    At least, she had anger to fall back on. It was an emotional response that most people seemed to frown on. They worried about it taking control. Of not being able to reign in whatever demons they so carefully hid in the darkness. Narcissa found it useful. There was functional value in it. Survival, for one thing. She never felt more secure and level than when her blood was boiling over and every thought she had was tilted with a shade of red. She watched Marcel, whom she would now call the Rat King, run away from her. He moved and hellfire white eyes followed. His insults drew a cruel and intensely amused smile to crimson lips. “That’s where I would have shot you.”
                                                    And Narcissa wouldn’t have used the clunky laser guns they’d been given. The simulation probably wouldn’t let her kill anyone. Probably. To that end she found nothing wrong with giving little shirty prats a good kicking when they asked for it. And Marcel, was definitely asking for it. Begging. She didn’t pause in walking forward when he tossed her relationship with Aren into the mix. The nature of it was juvenile at best and her grin only widened. “Your jealousy is unbecoming, Alpha. Tiny is right here. You can come on out and tell him how you really feel whenever you find the stones to stop hiding from me.”
                                                    He really, really didn’t like her. It was cute. Narcissa had long since gotten used to Alpha’s hating her with everything they had in them. Every bit of venom Marcel spewed at her was music to her ears. In the end, as he disappeared toward his partner in crime, she found herself chuckling.
                                                    The Red Queen closed her eyes and raised her hand toward where she could feel the boys hiding. The more she focused the more she realized that she could feel them. It was just like tracking them when they’d thought illusions would give them the upper hand. “Got you.”, she murmured as light filled the palm of her hand. The thin blast she released tore into the building that August and Marcel were hiding in and left a swath of burning wood and smoke in its path. She hadn’t aimed directly for them – But right beside them. It would be close enough to feel the heat and yet it was little more than a warning shot.
                                                    It let them know they were coming.
                                                    Except, that was when the simulation ended. Everything changed and soon enough she found herself standing near a banquet table. Her hands slowly lowered and the light in her eyes died down when she realized that their health bars were gone. Blue eyes fell to Aren as she felt a steady whine building in the back of her throat. He said what she was thinking and her arms crossed over her chest as she tossed her hair over her shoulder. “It was easy mode. The Alpha's got sick of losing so they resorted to...This.”
                                                    Some Alpha that she hadn’t met yet started rambling off in a few languages and once again she wracked her brain trying to put a face to a name. She didn’t have to try long though, because instead of fighting, he started introducing himself. Zaphiel, the Alpha possibly responsible for stealing her ‘W’, really seemed to be enjoying all of this fanfare. He mentioned that he hoped they could all be friends and the perfect blonde raised an eyebrow. “Is he for real?”
                                                    That was when Scott’s voice sounded overhead and the sun goddess felt herself cringe. She could only take so much of his self-righteous prattle before she wanted to gag him. For possibly the first time since she’d walked through Xavier’s doors she could honestly say ‘I didn’t do it’ and mean it.
                                                    User Image
                                                    Narcissa did her best to tune out Summers and Stone while they debated the fate and intentions of her new Alpha. She was bored and frankly didn’t have the faintest idea why the one-eyed Headmaster wanted to see both of them. She’d played by the rules that had been dictated prior to the simulation starting. It was Stone that had let Zaphiel run wild. “You really ought to train your puppies better…”, she murmured to the dark haired Hispanic when they finished. Narcissa could see her words getting under the Alpha Leader’s skin.
                                                    The Headmaster interrupted and began to question her about killing civilians and at first she felt confused. What was he talking about? After a second or two it dawned on her that he was referring to Blake and Alice, excessive uses of force, yadda yadda. She grinned, before his glare made her hide it with a cough. “I encouraged winning.”
                                                    It was her way of saying yes.
                                                    “It’s was just a simulation. Neither Blake nor Alice would bring down a building with innocent people in it. We all know that.”, she trailed off loftily. Narcissa really couldn’t see what the fuss was about. If they’d done it to an ACTUAL New York City block she might have taken issue. As it were, they merely exploited a loophole in a game. “I’ll speak with them about it, if it makes you feel better.”
                                                    That conversation would be a quick one. Narcissa wasn’t in to scolding her Omega’s unless they actually deserved it.
                                                    "Besides.",
                                                    she pointed out rather smugly."The Alpha's cheated."
                                                    Scott seemed more exasperated with her unwillingness to concede to his point more than anything by the time he let them go. He informed them that he would send a mass announcement about the results of the training soon enough. Narcissa could care less at this point. She just wanted to be anywhere but stuck in a room with two goody-two shoes having a silent war. Summers seemed like the guilty party while Stone was eerily silent. Somehow, someway, Narcissa deduced that Scott had royally screwed something up.
                                                    Right as they walked out of the office the fire alarm went off and suddenly sprinklers and fire-suppression spray started falling from the ceiling. She could hear Summers cursing and scrambling to move things off of his desk while Stone just stood still in surprise. Narcissa could feel disgust welling in her core and pressed the frequency on her comm to her team. “That better not have been one of you or so help me God and Queen I will bury you.”
                                                    Steam rose from her body as she stalked down the hall toward the stairs. No doubt the elevators had shut down. Hopefully, whomever had decided to cook what smelled like day old roadkill had died, and would save her the trouble. She stomped in puddles as often as possible to relay her crossness and hoped that the water only affected the 2nd Floor versus the entire complex.
                                                    If her favorite pair of Manolo Blahnik’s were filled with water three floors below—Someone was going to die.
