[ Proud Memory 3 ]
It had been gruelling, listening to her own voice on the PA system day in and day out. Did her voice really sound like that? It was terrible. Maybe she should get a new voice box. Augh, how was anyone her friend with a voice like that?
Today though, the torment would end. They were announcing the new Student Council today, which meant the stupid tapes of their stupid speeches would cease to exist, and she can go about her life one way or another.
"--Treasurer: Thackery. Secretary, Mortimer ~~ - Vice-President...."
Her unbeating heart seized. This was it. The end of her anxiety rested on the name they called next. It took her a few moments to realize what happened, and then she found herself oddly still as the shock settled in.
"Vice-President: ***."
*** pinched herself, just to be sure. It wasn't a dream. She did it.

They were everywhere: horsemen, halloweeners, hunters, and something else besides.
This was her first mission, and she'd already soiled herself. M-Maybe she should . . . But there was no running; someone would see her. And Miss Sasha was somewhere, she just knew it--
But there was a teal-haired guy being berated by a handful of the monsters, and without thinking *** leaped in to try and fend off some of the attacks; she was grateful that her weapon was large enough to cover. They barely made it out with him alive, and it was only just the beginning.
But there was a moment to breathe, and a moment to learn his name--and a moment to bond even just the slightest bit over reckless actions.

She did have a little regret since there was so many questions she had with no answers but that path was closed now even more now since she had given her heart to Creation. Had this been the right path to choose? Even now she didn’t know if her choose had been the right one. Did she fail the goddesses to Riot it felt like she had.
She could feel herself slowly fading away, there was so much that she wanted to know. She had just regained memories but to why did she regain those one and not other ones and to why did she even remember them in the first place. But then she thought it had been for a greater good? She didn’t know but and she still wanted to know.
Riot knew that this wasn’t her name but it was now too late to learn what her true name was. Since now it was the end and there was so little she learned and so much more she wanted to know. Riot regrets not knowing as she faded away.

[ Defensive Incident 1/1 ]
"Hey!"
It was probably natural for young soldiers-to-be to fight, but the way *** saw it, the kids were being unnecessarily cruel to just one of them. She saw the way they kept beating down on one of the other youngers, mocking him aloud when he found himself unable to stand up after having a ball hit against his head one too many times.
When addressed by a priestess of the order, the kids suddenly straightened up, and one shoved the ball behind his back as if they hadn't been using it at all. *** could see right through that, but she didn't comment directly on where they put the ball. The kids probably thought they were pulling a one-over on her.
"Playing is fine, but don't pick on each other!" *** scolded, bringing her voice to a even, affectionate tone afterwards. "I'm sure you all will have more fun that way."
When the children murmured out a, "Yes priestess...," the young soldier looked up at her, offering a small smile.
"Thank you."
Defending someone else warmed her heart.

Greater Blessing 1
"Hm, how touching." Red replied dryly. "It is nice to know that you are thinking of my well being now." She tilted her head to one side, looking at Sammycritically.
"I... she died. And met a pillar of white light, it offered them all another chance, and Pride, the Voice. It grew angry at them. The hunters where there, we all where different, weapons where people, I was a human. They worked together for their kings. But the Hunters 'woke up' they realized who they really where and had a mission. To kill the people they cared about in that world to 'wake them up'. I don't know about our own though, I saw mostly hunters, a few people from our side.”
"And now?" She prompted, "What do you think of them now, given what you have seen and experienced?"
“That we're all horribly messed up. We've all done terrible things with good intentions and suffered the prices for it. They aren't blood thirsty psychos out to kill all of Holloween... but I can't just let them walk by and be a threat to what I care about. If they attacked Siddie, or you, or anyone I cared about, I can't just... I can't let that go any more then they would for me if I did the same."
"What do you seek to do now?"
"I want to survive, I want the school to be safe, I want the people I care about to be okay." She looked down wondering what she would do next, "I want to try and talk to them, I want to know what they want... besides probably my head on a stick..."
A desire to fight, to defend, Destruction was power, what mattered was how you chose to use it.
Greater Blessing 2
They were dressed in red, all the figures stood in the same red cloak, it wasn’t the right shade of red it was a few hues too dark. They all had pins, not like her pin, but small ones like it memories of who she was. It was a funeral of sorts, everyone gathered silently to recall one who had passed , one who other memories implied was once again alive. Someone who Sammy had betrayed the trust of and sought to earn it back. Little was said, much was done, and the pain was deep.
Destruction is dangerous, mistakes are made, prices are paid, memories are tainted with guilt.
Greater Blessing 3
The air was cold, it wasn’t snowing yet the air felt it should, Sammy stood shoulder to shoulder with West, her side.
Blood continued to slowly ooze, the fear around her arm flickered and waned, she wasn't holding up well. The next slash sent her stumbling back as she feebly blocked the blow. Falling in line beside West she glanced at Amrita and Barth on the ground, if her heart were alive it would have froze in fear.
"Screw you... Ninja." She shifted again raising her hands for what would be the last round of this fight. "When I'm done with you, and this school, I'll kick Helma's a**, and every other... Jack, Damn, thing... that I find wrong... in this world or the next."
She gave a cheeky grin holding up her dog tags, one from Carry, one from a life she didn't remeber, "Sides, it seems where ever I came from, I was only good for fighting anyway right?"
Destruction was power, through and through to fight, to survive, it was all life was.

[memory vengeful]
"Just remove that thing from my room." he honestly didn't think the puff ball should be given treats to keep it out of trouble. "Just toss it into the sink for about 5 minutes." a fitting and horrible punishment for many fire minis. It was something he would never actually do himself, for fear of getting wet, but at the moment he was mad enough. He barely saved a stack of papers from turning to ashes.

He gave up his heart to creation, because it felt...right. Destruction was so savage, so rough, so jagged. He had started out the follower of ruin, but that did not mean he believed that destruction was the only way. Pride? What did he have to be proud of? A few tasks completed but not many. No, he did not believe he belonged to pride.
But creation...now that was something he could get behind! A smile lit up his lips as his heart was accepted, as it's memory was torn free. Regrets? Yes, he had regrets. Regrets that he hadn't done more, hadn't taken the time to make more friends along the way. Even if it didn't matter now. Even if, as his heart was taken, he to could feel himself beginning to slip away.
He should have done more.....

[Greater Blessing 1/3]
"I had that dream again..." A sonorous voice said. He is sitting in front of a mirror -- no, a window, polished so well that he could see his face and the mirror image of his brother sitting beside him. "The one where I was a merchant, and..."
"I've heard it plenty of times, ****." Desmond said with a roll of identical pink eyes. "I get it. I know you're only talking about it because you're going to segue into how it led you to Amityville. You got in. I know."
**** smirked, daintily raising a cup of tea to his lips. "Why, Desmond. Do I detect a hint of jealousy in your voice?"
"I detect a hint of nightshade in your tea."

He had chewed his lower lip bloody but he hadn't made a sound, not for the whole time the needle had pierced the skin of his leg over and over and over.
His mother looked up from his skinny calf, holding the needle out to him. Either she had been rendered blind by doing such intricate work or she was ignoring his tears and mangled lip. He was grateful, no matter what her excuse.
"Here. Take this," she said with a warm smile. "There's just one last little curl here, and then you're all done."
"Can I do it any way I want?"
"Yes, honey. Any way you want."

"I-I'll watch your back."
In the heat of the desert that smelled of blood and death, that was all she could offer Gale. If time rewound itself soon, maybe they wouldn't have to suffer Candace's death much longer. Or maybe they would all be swallowed whole and they'd no longer have to worry.
But for now, there were lizard-like creatures to take out, and she did not at all want to die again. She was useless, however, this mission had proved it to be so: the most she could do was offer herself as meat shield. It had worked once before with Jake.
It would do. It had to.

It was a choice, his choice. Maiden's choice where he was going to put his trust, his heart, himself into. To offer so much of himself, it didn't feel like he was gaining something better back in return. The bitter emptiness was starting to fill the void where his heart used to lay, pulsing and beating as part of him, to become an envoy to Creation and what it stood for.
He honestly did not know what it stood for.
His life was finite, but it had all these memories attached to it that seemed to last a longer lifetime than he himself, and they were starting to wither away from him, the memories and then himself. Was there even a point to this, to give a taste of what it meant to be complete and full only to wrench it away to see how he reacted? "The greater good, its for the greater good." it said, repeated many times to sooth the pain.
The greater good sucked.
This name he had, he could not even proclaim it to the being above, he was no Maiden.
Maiden never even existed, just a pitiful something that had a name that it did not know. It was always this different name in his memories, this "Rex". It didn't take a genius to know Rex wasn't his name either. He.. no... it wondered if it even had a real name? Was the truth going to fade with his last breath?
Was there even a point in lamenting now? what's done was done. He was done. Maiden was done.
All he had now was Despair and hope in what he put his faith in, pray it wasn't going to let him down.
And look back on what he was losing before it faded completely away.

((Main Blessing 1/3))
"You mean I can go? You're actually going to let me go to school? To Amity?"
"We've already enrolled you, ****, you've already been accepted. You start in two weeks."
Two weeks! His unbeating heart felt like it was going to burst straight out of his chest! He couldn't help himself as he threw himself forward, giving his mother the biggest hug, squeezing her tight. She didn't need to breathe, so it wasn't like he was really hurting her.
"Thank you so much." He whispered.
"Happy birthday, ****."

She did not know Nevada well, not at first. Their first meeting in the laundry room had been chance more than anything else, and yet more impacting than she'd thought: a best friend and room mate and sister all in one, a bond forged through her anguish and regret.
One that had been turned into something golden and beautiful and precious.
It tore at *** to see the girl asleep in the ward. Asleep for days and days, no matter who came and who spoke and what was given. Sleeping Beauty, but she couldn't be or find the prince to wake her.
*** sat vigil a few hours each time nevertheless, however, because it was the only way to ease her heart. To hope. Nobody should be alone, after all, not for that long.
But *** still felt like she was. Or if not alone, then lesser.

There were shadows all around: he looked, silent, for Ganximei. One last time.
Not here.
There were, of course, other shadows he recognized - there, someone he'd fought alongside, tearing his heart out and throwing it on the - Sarviur looked away. They could have their privacy, in this moment, to make their own decisions. He had his own to make, and no familiar little figure (he hadn't seen Ganximei, he thought, in so long) to make one wi - for him. He wasn't...he wasn't *** any more, Sarviur thought. That name wasn't his, and Sarviur was the name of a shadow who liked voices and knew how to work alone.
So that was what he'd do.
He watched as the sky burst into delicate golden branches and bright green leaves. They raced across the sky, pushing the red away. He felt calm. (Leander had been his mentor, and Nadim his best friend, and he'd loved a ghost girl with blue eyes and curly hair and his father was gone and everyone knew it and - no. No, he was Sarviur, and he had none of those problems.)
He refocused.
Destruction, pride, and creation.
Sarviur was certainly the sort that rained chaos upon others. He'd proved that, he thought, enough already. He closed his eyes, remembering the feeling of
Goddess-given weapons in his hands, singing through the air and making strange and pleasant squelching noises when they found their targets. But Sarviur had never once killed in his own name, and he didn't think he could really bring himself to. It was eat or be eaten.
Knowledge? Sarviur liked knowledge; he liked hearing what was going on and what people were thinking. He rarely ventured a word for himself, but it didn't change that he didn't like hearing about things and committing them, slowly, to a long, long memory. But he'd never enjoyed gaining it, he thought: he wasn't the shadow that went around everywhere asking everyone questions and opinions and theories. He wasn't the one who searched for meaning in every Goddess' pronouncement. So that wasn't him.
And yet...a forgotten legacy? Certainly, Sarviur had thought the word fit, at first. He was a proud guy! He wanted all the Goddesses to know all about his achievements! But it wasn't a legacy that he wanted to leave behind. If she needed it, Sarviur would give it - and in that way, he was a shadow that exemplified humility. No task had ever been beneath him.
So it was a difficult choice.
He tore out his heart even so, though, because the Goddesses needed it. And - oh, it was hurting again. She'd been wrong. But perhaps that had only been a dream...
Fine.
He'd take all the knowledge he could get. The foliage stretched across the sky, all vines and green and lovely. Sarviur heard...something. Someone.
Someones.
He couldn't see, though. And he could hardly hear, though they all whispered a word he might have thanked them to know...
Varrus.
