These poor fools were so used to "sport" only meaning one thing, and here they were confronted with something very difficult, physically demanding and had no letter. He'd been dancing for years and could tap dance, fearouette, Charlstone and monster mash circles around the entire student body, all with jazz talons. Not the Gryff ever did jazz talons.

Atomica stopped and turned up her auditory sensors. There was a LOT of buzzing and gossip in the hallway, so she ran an algorithm to try to filter out all of the things she deemed unimportant (meaning, having nothing to do with Gryff). She then compared those results with her own Gryff-centric programming, and reconstructed the most probable outcome. 100% correct and UTTERLY glitch-free, of course.
"They're saying that the Ghostly Gossip thinks you're poison for your opponents in the Tombcoming royalty competition! You found a window of opportunity and you took it! Everyone is swayed with how dramatically you're taking down your opponents."
Atomica's eyes glowed with wavering LED tears of pride.
"Gryff! You have the crowns IN THE BAG! TOTES!"

"Hey, man!" Kai greeted Invisibilly, wearing his football uniform as he walked into Monster High. "I didn't know you were on the football team!"
"No one does." Invisibilly replied, somewhat grumpily. "I swear, I'm always on the field all, like, 'I'm open! Throw the ball to me!' and no one notices."
"Bummer. You should join my sport." Kai twirled around, showing off his keen bowling shirt. True, his favorite sport was surfing, but TRUE surfing was on the beaches of Die-kiki in Hawaii, not in the Monster High bottomless wave pool. His other favorite sport was bowling, and since that gave him a chance to walk around in one of his gnarly shirts and not a pair of jams all day, he opted for that.
"Maybe I will give bowling a shot." Invisibilly nodded in appreciation of Kai's freaky fashion. "Later, man!"
Kai waved goodbye to Invisibilly and headed over to his locker. Lots of sports pride all over Monster High today!

The locker beside Kai popped open with a 'clang' and a heap of books and piles of clothes spilled out onto the floor at Kai's feet. Shad then climbed out, sporting a baseball uniform.
"Hey Kai, I...urk!" Shad caught his neck on his own sports bag, almost hanging himself. Shad managed to disentangle himself and step out of his locker and into the school hall. "Hey I like...!"
*clunk*
And Shad fell halfway back into his own locker, having gotten his baseball bat wedged in the door. He righted himself and turned his bat around and slipped it out. Shad fixed his shades and turned back.
"Liking the bowling fashion. Never got a chance to play myself. Well, there was that one time, but I forgot to let go of the ball and I ... well would rather forget about that."

Sport wasn't really something Jewels was into, aside from spelunking of course, but that was more a necessity than a hobby when one lived in the centre of the earth.
She'd played netball as a young moleling, but it had been years since she'd had the time or inclination.
Still, her Physical Deaducation kit combined with a few pieces from her wardrobe looked enough like something sporty for her liking. She decided one couldn't use the excuse "i couldn't decide what to wear" for being late, even during spirit week.
She made her way out of the catacombs and toward her locker, glancing toward Kai and telling herself that no, she was NOT going to pine and mope about her rotten luck. Well it was easy to say that, for once she found herself quietly hoping he wouldn't notice her and speak to her.
Maybe Bridget was right and complete avoidance was the solution to reducing heartache, she'd said other things but Jewels had somewhat tuned out the two troll ghouls while they argued over what they would do in a similar situation.

" Well ghouls, it looks like we have a tournamoant to play!" Hellene flew over to her beastie and Layla. " It's too bad the school doesn't have a tennis team, though with all the photography I do I'm not sure I'd have the time anyway but I do like to get in a game every now and then, and tennis was made for layering and these cute little skirts!"

"FangTAStic!" Draconia hexclaimed. She hadn't even realized two of her beasties like tennis too! She felt thankful in her ruby heart for Spirit Week, thinking 'you learn something boo every day!' as she, Layla and Hellene compared racquets and discussed their favourite brands of tennis balls and celebgritty players.

Demona walked up, she wasnt very sporty so she didnt put that much effort into her so called "track" outfit. As if she would run. "Yo Merha!" she shouted before going to kai

Motthew smiled and nodded to Nathair as he slithered off. He looked at Perry and shook his hand "Names Motthew." he said. He grinned "Hey, I love it! Its awesome! My old school was so much smaller. I love seeing so many other monsters."

Kai's ears pricked up in the middle of showing off his bowling ball to Heath Burns.
Was it....?
Was that even possible?
Dropping the ball with a 'THUD' (fortunately missing Heath's toes by a whole half-inch, Kai spun around and saw-"DEMONA!" He could barely believe it. He hadn't seen his ghoulfriend in months - at least, not in person, since she'd up and gotten herself transferred to a school in Grrrmany.
Forgetting everything else, Kai dashed over, picked her up by the waist and gave her a spin before giving her a big, fuzzy hug. "You're here! You're really, truly here!"

Sally walked into the school, her hiking backpack she had....found.. sticking out a bit more than she would have liked. It also pressed her tendrils against her back. Uncomfortable, but she enjoyed the theme.
She grabbed her books and turned, starting for her first class, Dead Languages.

"Missed you too." Kai grinned and wiped away a tear from her face with a thumb. "Are you really back for the school year? Oh, manster, you've missed SO much! There's a ton of new students, and there was this whole deal with the circus, and...and...Just so much more!" Kai wanted to just sit down with Demona and tell her everything that had happened to him in the last few weeks, but it just wasn't going to be possible. He knew the warning bell for first period was looming."What's your first class?" He asked her. "Can I walk you there?"

"We'll sit together at lunch!" Kai took Demona's hand and the two started walking through the hallways. "And then I can introduce you to all of the new friends I've met...Rory Bludworth, Shad Gloom, Sally Slender and Jewels Underne!"
Kai clapped his claws together. "You and Jewels are going to be GREAT friends, she's just uhh-mazingly artsy."
The two of them came to a stop in front of the Headmistress's office. Kai grinned.
"Here, see? You can grab your schedule real quick, and then I can walk you to class!"
