Ending story

The pilots had been fighting inside the colony, exchanging blow for blow with their enemy. When the colony began to shake, not from battle, but from explosions inside. Chris and Shane had been fighting inside the power core when it detonated, killing both pilots, incinerating the suits. When Chris's radar signature disappeared and he felt the shock-wave, Kamon yelled for everyone to get out. The first out where the grunts of Backdraft, being the closest to the exits, not far behind were Neo, Kamon, John, and Marie. Koza, Byrd, and Adal had been outside, and had managed to take of Demyan, the three pilots too much for one man. When Neo noticed that Al was still inside, he rushed back in, the pathway collapsing behind him. Moments later, the entire colony exploded, forcing Kamon and the others to retreat. The remaining Gundam pilots searched the rubble for days, finding only scraps left of their comrades armor, as well as the armor of their enemies. Backdraft was finally gone forever, but so too were allies and family. As the pilots grieved, they swore to stick together, to never let another faction rise up and threaten Earth and the colonies. They would protect them. They were the Protectors.
