This was just getting funny now. Still keeping her pinned he nipped at her paws, pulling her back by the tail until he lifted her up in his mouth. Still careful he walked over and dropped her in Moya's lap, laying at her feet. He won.

Shilo sat there for a moment and then jumped down onto his back, pulling at his ears. She didn't pull hard, or bite hard, but it was hard enough to be able to pull them around. He may have won that round but she wasn't ready to give up the fight.

He laughed at that, ignoring the tugging on his ears for a moment and then standing up with her still on his back. She was so small and light that it was possible to carry her on his back. Waiting a moment more he tilted his head, letting her fall to the ground before laying down again, pinning her under his paws and his neck. 'Might as well give up, pup.'

Shilo whined and just stayed there. She was starting not to like being so small and continued to whine.
Moya couldn't help but laugh and moved Nik's paws out of the way, picking Shilo up and placing her on her lap, petting softly. "I think that was brave of you to try to get your dad from up above Shilo. It was pretty smart too."

He smiled and gave a bark of agreement, she had the basic instincts down. There were just a few things he would have to work with her on as she got older. Standing again he licked Shilo's face a few times, nudging her with his nose before licking Moya's hand.

Shilo covered her face with her paws to hide and just laid there on her mother's lap.
Moya smiled and petted Shilo gently as they sat there, starting to rock back and forth in the rocking chair. "I love you Shilo." She looked down at Nik. "I love you too Nik."

He licked her cheek in response before shifting back, cracking his back before kissing Moya on the head and scratching Shilo's ears. "Your safe now, baby." Now he couldn't do anything he did on four legs to her. Going over he grabbed a pacifier from the dresser, kneeling next to them. "Come on, shift back."

Shilo whined a moment before shifting back and grabbing his hand, pulling the pacifier into her mouth.
Moya smiled and pulled Shilo into her arms so she wasn't on her lap. She looked at Nik with a smile.

He smiled and ran a hand over Shilo's head before standing again, kissing Moya slowly and gently. "At this rate Shilo's going to end up growing before we're ready for her to." It could be true. The rate varied between each lugaru. Just because he had matured slowly didn't necessarily mean she would.

Moya stood up with Shilo balanced in her arms. She handed her to Nik and walked into their bedroom, having a sudden mood drop.
Shilo looked up at her dad then back at her mom. Something was upsetting her, and she couldn't figure it out.

Nik was just as confused as Shilo. "I don't know either baby, but I'm about to find out." Setting Shilo in her crib he went back to their room, leaning against the door jam with his arms crossed. He was studying her, trying to figure out on his own first. That wasn't going to happen. "What's wrong?"

"It just hit me that I will age at a normal rate. You and Shilo will watch me grow old and you guys will barely change. I'm a human, nothing more." Tears started to roll down her face and she looked away from Nik.

Here was a conversation he never imagined them having. And seeing her cry made his heart break. "Oh Moya..." Standing straight he walked over and knelt in front of her, taking her hands in his and making her look at him. "You are not nothing. Now you don't know what'll happen, the future isn't set the way you say it. And you're too young to be thinking about something like this. That's nothing to worry about right now." Still kneeling he pulled her into his arms, hugging her but also keeping a grip so she couldn't pull away from him.

Moya almost pushed him away but instead she pulled him closer and hid her face in the crook of his neck. "But it will happen in the years to come Nik." She held him tightly and couldn't seem to let him go.

He held her tighter at that, picking her up and switching so he was on the bed with her in his lap. One arm still tight around her he stroked her hair softly, kissing her neck while she hid. "Don't think about it now. It's not something we need to worry about now. Right now you have a beautiful baby girl waiting for you in the other room."
