((Sorry, Venom, but this just popped into my head.

Christmas Day has come and past
This RP is going nowhere fast.))

((So I suppose the non-movement of this RP makes me leaving Gaia for the time being not as bad of news for this crowd? Or does that mean I'm pushing the RP closer to death? Ah well. I won't be able to get on Gaia frequently or even regularly in the near future, so I bid you all a farewell for the time being. If this place is still alive when I get back, I'll be glad to join back in, even though it might be kinda funky. As for Samuel... He really has no direction in life, and I'm pretty sure I've gotten across the proper personality sets in my past posts, so Venom can run him till I get back, I'm guessing.))

Legion sent his message. The warlocks who still allied themselves with him gathered in the central hall as he gave finalized assignments; Takeshi and Ted preventing police response, Samuel murdering students indiscriminately with Joe protecting him, and the others with him, to make his announcement to the world with the capture of a small local TV station which, with minor magic adjustments, would broadcast to every TV in the world, regardless of channel or access to a power supply.

Each group entered a car with a Forsaken behind the wheel and began to head towards their destinations; one to the broadcasting station, the other two to USC.

"Sir, we're going to have a huge problem, very soon," one of the technicians called out.

"What is it?" Alan asked, walking over to look at the screen. "Oh, s**t." Apparently he understood more of the rapidly rising graph than the others in the room.

"What is it?" Linda asked, bringing up the question everyone wanted answered.

"That," the technician said gloomily, "Is a graph of L.A.'s unreality levels. Basically, how much magic is being used." He flicked his hand around a little and another graph, also rising but much less rapidly, appeared in a smaller box. "That's our levels. The rest is Legion and his warlocks. They're getting ready for something big."

"Get ready to respond to them," Josh commanded. "Alan, get teleportation channels running, now. You two have blood pacts to make."

The process was short, and a little bit of a threat was implied, but it was binding as only magic could be.

((awesome possum, let's do it!))

Joe leaned casually back in his seat, looking out the window at the passing cityscape. He sighed and sat up.
"Sam, right?" he asked, looking across at him. "Listen. I understand that your Warlock might be sort of...unstable, but if you could control him, even a little bit, things will be a lot smoother. And don't worry....I got your back." He winked and jabbed a thumb at his chest.

Pact completed, Kayla looked over to Josh, a slight smile back in place on her lips. The cut used to extract the blood had been healed back up again, and as a side effect her wrist was feeling a lot better. "Hey, we'll need to split up for this, won't we? How's that going to work? Because If I can have my transformation set up already, that will make everything go much more smoothly."

A black-haired technician with slightly disturbing green eyes looked at Kayla darkly.

"I can't get a lock on them, I just know they're moving around. I think Legion might be covering their tracks personally and the Shadowmen have been, it seems, held back by some sort of blackmail-slash-threat-based voting on the Council of Seventeen..." the technician explained.

"Alex, the last thing we need to do is bring them into our troubles with the Council of Twenty-Seven..." Josh interrupted, ending that thread of discussion. "Anyway, our best source of info will be the televisions." He snapped his fingers at a wall and five small TVs appeared from thin air, each tuned to a different major news channel. "Kayla, talk with any demons you'll need to talk to, and make any offerings that might be necessary now."

Siber grimaced at the cut, but complained about the one on his chin instead. "So does going about on your orders constitute running away, or will I slowly disintegrate or whatever from the moonblade when I try to carry out orders? And I have no plans for groupings, but assuming we find these people's exact locations, I want to take on Gurul, unless that would cause awful strategic issues."

"Unfortunately, no, we have no idea where, or when, he's going to strike," Alan answered, restating the question for everyone else to hear. "We have to simply react very quickly once he does. I estimate anywhere between five and ten minutes they'll have before we can respond. Oh, and the moonblade's cut is a mundane cut... now." Siber's head physically jerked forward as the power was yanked back into the knife. "Sorry about the lash. As for Legion, we figure his crew will hit soon."

Ted was looking around for Takeshi. He still didn't know all the names for people, well, nobody except Legion. Man, he really needed to start interacting with people more. {Duh, ya think?}

Shut up. What do you know, anyways?

{More than you. Remember, I have another full life over you.}

True. Okay, what should we do about this?

{Wow. Asking my opinion? I'm impressed.} Hideki started to laugh, causing Ted to grouse around a bit.

Shut up.

Takeshi and Ted's car came to a stop alongside the car of Samuel and Joe. Takeshi donned a black leather jacket over his gray muscle shirt and holstered several pistols, finishing by grabbing a gray briefcase and donning a pair of sunglasses.

"C'mon, we're getting on a rooftop," Takeshi stated curtly, striding towards a nearby building.

"Let's get started," Samuel suggested with a grin, taking off at a jog towards the USC campus.

"Almost there," Legion commented to Aurelie. "Give it a couple of minutes."

Looking over his surroundings, Ted wondered where the best area to create a diversion would be. They had to keep the police away, but how to do that? That was when he noticed a group of people. Okay, more like a gang. All of 'em hanging out in front of a fast food joint. That should work out nicely. "Takeshi. See that group of people over there? I think I know how to keep the police occupied for a while."

Kayla nodded and sat down on the floor. After about thirty seconds she had slumped forwards with he chin lolling on her clavicle. In hell, she didn't encounter any difficulty finding Oscurfillius, Puglith, and Erta. Demons, by and large, had limited attention spans. But the memory of the little human girl who had thrown hellfire without geting burned was still fresh, and no trouble was had. The three of them were alerted to the coming conflict, and Kayla made her exit without a fuss. The whole thing was clean, quick, and utterly unsettling.

They both mentally sighed in unison, and were severly embarassed, thinking hurriedly and loudly about crab fishing and water-soluble oil paints, respectively.

Kayla opened her eyes and got to her feet. "Alright, how's it looking?"
