Hooray for disproportionate levels of power between villages!

disproportionate indeed. Kumo has far more power plants than any of the other villages.

And once more, we all find ourselves in... THE BOTTLENECK.
One Plotline, One Villain, at least 5 others bating their breath on the villain's next action, scraping at the corners for a chance to get into the combat and do something.
...and here we are... the villain, not having posted in a few days, the rest of us slowly rotting away in inactivity. Just like old times.

Actually cobra it was myself who was waiting on the others to post at the time you created this post, not the other way around. And I'd be happy to hear any plot ideas come my way so that the Arc Development team could work on implementing them while we wait for the other two villains to arrive or finish up in other villages. As a side note to be fair, no one in Suna really rotted away in activity without an explained reason in the hiatus log save for yourself for a bit there.

Well, unfortunately roleplaying doesn't have the luxury of instant gratification so we all may end up waiting on someone for an extended period of time which I agree does at times slow things down. I believe Hinote waited on you since mid-June in Yasashii's sealing emporium as well, however at some point roleplay does move on to compensate for inactivity from any one of us as you can see. I'd also be interested in hearing any ideas you may have for the "Bottleneck" scenario if there are any you'd be willing to share.

I just realized just how fun this fight is going to be. Seeing all the new sunaton designs in action at once, as well as the new Ichibi? This will be the bestest battle ever. At least until David actually masters all the jutsu he's capable of, and should have already, and ranks up again.

I fully expected to be left in the dust and Hinote had every right to do so. I'm a huge proponent of just leaving frozen people in the dust.
The best way to avoid the bottleneck is to create multiple instances for people to interact with. That way, not everything hangs on one person posting. For instance, in this situation... it would help if Jishaku had one or two followers who could separate the combats into several instances... which would avoid 5 or so people hinging on the one person's movements.
...and during events like this (plot lines where Genin can literally do nothing because they are Genin and weak) provide specialized Missions during the battle sequences which allow Genin to interact with the scenario and still keep busy.

The reason this scenario seems to hinge on one person is as I'm positive you kno we currently don't have the manpower for another person to run an NPC. However, I do believe we can set up some genin missions around the village. I mean, the shockwave from such an attack and the destruction would leave Suna in shambles as far as the population goes. We should probably dole out some rescue missions for genin so that they aren't just replying to what's happening in a fight thread without actually being able to participate in the fight itself. Once I can get enough people working in the ADT then we can only hope to see these improvements used on a consistent basis to avoid such an event. I do hate seeing RPC's in a pseudo post-lock scenario where the RP is moving, however their RPC specifically isn't able to do anything at all. Thanks for the input Cobra as always, now let me go see if something can't be done about this. P.S.- I'm gonna wait until tomorrow to collect all the suggestions in the suggestion thread and look over them in the crew forum, but you have some interesting ideas brewing in there and I'll be sure to get a response back to the masses soon. My plan is to just as well have the other NPC test out the sealing capabilities to see how they work in battle scenarios. Overall though, it'll certainly be interesting. EDITED

I did make an announcement that genin should run rescue operations rather than just watching the battle. Not assigned missions, though I'll likely hand out credits to those that do. After it's over we'll have a nice set of rebuilding missions as well. Even David will likely involve himself in that, since he can literally build a Suna house in a matter of seconds, and really does need a bit of income.
Sadly that doesn't help foreign genin such as Sora... Not sure what could be done to help her out, other than another enemy or clone.
Cobra and I have already done some discussion on an alternate learning system. I sent it to him to touch up and maybe make pretty in his style. It's not really complete though.

Assuming he doesn't somehow get killed, If David is willing to verify that they did in fact help in a note or something they could probably get some MP for taking the initiative here and helping people. Probably an extra D or something as well as the mission itself.

Such a thing can most likely be arranged. He'll probably be sending messages to Luo and Nagisa anyways, commending Kensei and Yamatano for their part in the battle. Laxus and Sora though... Not so much as of yet. (Not expecting much from them, so that's not an attack of any sort. XD)

I could make some clones, but then it would clog up so much more. I think it would be hilarious if Laxus threw a kunai, and instead of dying to kensei, yamatano, or the demon he seems to hate, Jishaku simply let the kunai hit him. xD
