Good news everyone! On October 2nd of this year they shall be airing a new Pokemon Anime. One which, most importantly of all, has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ASH.
Instead it will be focused more directly on Pokemon Red/Blue/Green. It shall be known as Pokemon: Origin. Additionally it uses a different art style closer to the 'official art' for the games.

It's LIKELY only just a one-shot, but hot damn if we wouldn't all love a brand new reboot, loving the art style, it's far more back to roots there
But yosh, more and more stuff comes out each day for X and Y that we can only hope it gets more awesome =D
Although... what of the rumor pokémon can actually die this time round? >>
(Also, bleh at failing against Zoroark, lol, need to go look up Flinch rulings again)

Well I actually heard about the first episode being released on October 2nd, and then a new one every Wednesday after that. Of course in this case I use the term 'every' loosely, but it seems to imply there will at least be a handful of episodes. Probably no more then 5, but still likely to be longer then 1.
I don't honestly think they could fit the entire game into 1 episode without making it either very long, or montaging the hell out of it, and seeing as I've heard this one follows VERY closely to what plot there was to Red/Blue/Green I don't believe they'll montage more then necessary.
That said I very much doubt people's Pokemon will start dying now if they couldn't earlier. The fact that Pokemon CAN die has been implied since Gen 1, but they've never acted on it as a mechanic. It's more likely that one of the non-player character's Pokemon will dramatic kick the bucket. Either that or be a footnote like Blue/Green's Growlithe.

I choked on my coffee because of the mental imagery of having to fight a 7 foot stunfisk using a smaller stunfisk. Stunfisk is everything and everything is stunfisk.
Also, wasn't the pokemon that died in red/blue a Raticate on the s.s. anne...?

I really need to get past the beginning in a game ....so ....a Raticate died? I knew about the dead Marowak, but, I don't think I heard anything about the dead Raticate.
