The worst part is that the picture there, is not the first crack I've heard today about Mega-Ampharos being the new spokes-person(?) for that. I still find it endlessly hilarious of course.

Like I said, the rumour has it that ALL fully evolved Pokemon are going to get a 'Mega Forme'. The fact that they chose Blaziken actually seems to hint that this might be true, because as you said...it's a Starter. If they don't at least give one to every starter it's gonna be a real shitshow.
By the way for any who care, I finally bought New Leaf. May my reign be long and tyrannical.

WE CAN JUMP UP LEDGES. GOGOAT PRE-EVO FOR PRESIDENT. Alternatively, it can use fly, or it jumps backwards, but I think the first option is more likely.

NEWS ON THE MEGA FRONT!
No information has been released about Mega Forms. First and foremost it has been confirmed that only a select few Pokemon will be able to obtain Mega Forms, though it's more then what we've been shown. To evolve into their mega form the Pokemon in question has to be holding a Mega Stone and be fully evolved.
ALSO. Information on the Blaziken. An event Torchic will be released carrying "Blazikenite" a Mega Stone which cannot be obtained via normal play.
Additionally the music in the Mega Form trailer reminds me so much of the music from the original Power Rangers....and that is just the most magnificent thing ever I swear.
Yes, but take into consideration we're talking about of more then 600 Pokemon....I'd imagine "a few" is still a pretty substantial number. Even with the subtraction of any first(excluding stand alone)/second stage Pokemon.
