Hey all. I used to be a member back when this was NCS. I think. My memory's pretty poor. If I remember correctly, back then I was a student journalist, just starting college, and a communist. And fairly open to Marxism. Now I'm studying anthropology, with much of my interest in evolutionary psychology. I fully intend to apply anthropological knowledge and perspectives to any discussions about the destruction of capitalism. I would probably now call myself a socialist instead of communist, due to how my knowledge and faith in humans has changed over time.
As a side note, I am learning Chinese, and am profoundly interested in China and Chinese history. I am interested in understanding Chinese socialism, for better or for worse, and am interested in the culture. So I'd love to chat with anyone who has a unique perspective on the matter.

考古很有趣. 3nodding I'm an historian and an amateur linguist. I'm taking a class in modern Chinese history this semester. We're just about to go into the revolution and what not.

Type of communist: None (yet?) I was invited to join the Guild after a member saw me discussing the Myth of Meritocracy in the ED.
I don't know a lot about communism or socialism, other than what I have heard from mainstream media sources. I am anti-capitalist, but that's about as far as I've gotten. I'm hoping that discussing socialism and communism with other like-minded people will broaden my understanding of the concept.
