You guys are silly it was obviouisly tifa, beacuse of course hes going to be sad when aries dies, she was a friend, but tifa had been a childhood friend they had more of history, plus Tifa was always close to him, and the ending movie!

Its Aeris all the way, in the games and the movie advent children, Tifa is more of a sister figure. But I think Cloud is actually in love with aeris. (by the way isnt it Aerieth? Cause that was her name in kingdom hearts I-II)

Its pronounced the same either way, Aeris and Aerith. And Cloud only yearns for forgiveness from Aeris for not being able to save her. She was a good friend and a person he swore to protect, and he failed. He wanted forgiveness for that reason, and blamed it all upon himself. The act of hunting Sephiroth wasnt out of love per se, it was out of vengeance and peace.
As most know, I side with the CloTi pairing, mainly because Tifa was the reason Cloud left Nibelham in the first place. He tried desperately to impress her because he liked/loved her. He left to become a SOLDIER to impress Tifa, and also to show the town he wasnt a screw up. He admits that in his mind, it is part of what makes Cloud himself.

Well in FF7 you can make him like Tifa or Aeris kind of. I'm with CloudxTifa because well... Aeris is dead!So he can't be with her. But I think he always liked Tifa anyways.

I have always felt that he loved Tifa, but Aeris kind of 'confused him'. It happens a lot in real life, and for him to still be with Tifa in AC (That is my guess from the red tie on their arm... in Japan red ropes and strings generally signify that they are soulmates. Just a guess!!!) I think he really loves her.

Hmm... Maybe my eyesight really is that bad XD
I didn't even notice... I'll have to go look again.
I still see it in favor of Tifa, when Cloud was younger he was intrigued by her and wanted her attention.. I think he would be more connected. Sorrow over Aerith would blind him, it would blind anyone in my opinion, because he feels it is his fault. Some people are insecure, and I know that if a friend of mine died and I felt it was my fault I would distance myself from anyone. And he would probably cycle the thought in his head that he shouldn't love because he isn't worth it. People do crazy things when they are sad...
Hiding the geostigma makes a lot of sence, why would he want to burden someone with worrying about him? That aids the low self-esteem theory...
It's just my opinion ^_^;

My opinion: In the past, Cloud wanted to impress Tifa so he must have loved her.

StrawberrieIceCream Like Amylin had said (and explained quite well in a previous thread) before, Aeris and Cloud are more likely to have gotten together. This does not entirely rule out Tifa, but Cloud and Tifa had a more platonic relationship with one another. Cloud may have adored her as a child, but things changed when they grew up. Tifa doesn't seem to love him as much as she seems to worry about him. Cloud probably wouldn't have ever gotten with Yuffie, mostly because of how both of their personalities seem to clash. I've got nothing against CloudxYuffie fans out there, but the two just don't click in the game. He's too much of a smart aleck to her anyways. ***Gold Saucer Date w/ Cloud and Yuffie*** Yuffie: Just say something! Cloud: ...something... ~The screen darkens, and you can hear Yuffie slap Cloud~ ***End Date*** It's not impossible, but it's not likely to happen, either. Now i understand quite clearly that if Aeris wouldn't of died it would of been Aeris but it wasn't but then i still don't think it's Tifa.... Infact this may sound crazy but i reckon it could be Yuffie as although with numerous places where there personalities clash, there's still heat between them which shows that they don't hate each.... but they may even enjoy the arguments with each other so i reckon Yuffie because CLoud may be to attached to the other two and i reckon him and Yuffie secretly flirt with each throughout the game anyway smile
