I really like speaking japanese. I have been studying it for about two months. (please correct any errors) is "benkyoo suru deshita" the right way to say "have been studying"? To answer your question, it would be べんきょうしています(benkyou shite imasu), and your entire sentence would actually be （わたしは）にかげつぐらいにほんごをべんきょうしています。((Watashi wa*) nikagetsu gurai nihongo o benkyou shite imasu.) *You really don't need to include the "watashi wa," since it's understood from context zamboru konnichiwa, watashi wa zamboru.nihongo o hanashimasu ga daisuki.hajimemashite. (hello, my name is zamboru. I really like speaking japanese. nice to meet you) I am a beginner in speaking japanese, so can you correct any mistake. Since this happened with both of you, I though I'd point this out: In order to say that you like to do something, you put the dictionary form of the verb in front of こと/の (no) and then do が(だい)すき. So, for both your examples, it would be: にほんごをはなす こと/のがだいすき (Nihongo o hanasu koto/no ga daisuki). There might be a slight difference in nuance between using koto versus using no (I remember talking about it in class a couple years ago), but I'm having trouble finding something that talks about it. It seemed like it was sort of the difference of saying you like to do something versus you like the act of doing something, but I'm really not sure and have nothing to back me up at the moment. In any case, if it's this hard to find something about it, it must not be too important. smile

So it would be わたしはMolly です （watashi wa molly desu). I haven't learned that way of saying where you live. I learned placeにすんでいます（ place ni sunde-imasu)

"De" tte tadashii desu yo. Demo, "jibun de" tte itta hou ga ii ka mo shiremasen. That's not true. "De" is correct. But, it's probably better to say "jibun de." Both "de" and "ni" have more than one meaning. "De" also marks the means by which something is done. "By myself" or "on my own" would be "jibun de." If I recall correctly, "hitori de benkyou suru" would suggest that, for example, you're in a room by yourself studying, where as "jibun de" suggests that you're studying it (in general) on your own.
