Lenore yawned lazily as she fished about in the canal for debris using a net. She walked to and fro along the edge of the canal, her leg's swelling having gone down immensely.

Lillian pushed her small boat to the waters edge, getting ready to take off. This was a mundane task, but FAR more pleasant than finding those horses again. Once afloat she paddled her way further off the edge, getting ready to see what she could spot in the water.

A song played in Danny's head as they were informed they were going to return to the canal to fish out the barge's remains. She very much did not want to return to the waterside if she could help it, but she quickly realized she had no choice. The crowd was pushing her along to the fishing gear, and nobody but her was making a move elsewhere.
She grabbed a net- something that allowed her to be simply throw the object into the water, and then walk away for a bit. It was the easiest way to avoid the water while still helping.
After a while, she grimaced, returning to the net and hauling it up. What she found was a strange piece of something shiny, something indiscriminate, but of a familiar metal. "Hey guys, look at this ..."mythee Found a Shard of Crown (1). Do you need me to "show my work" (so to speak?)

Shakuntala felt her bosom swell. Being thought of as a hero was something she always desired to be and being acknowledged as one was a big confidence boost for the skittish soul. Maybe she was just born with it, or maybe it was Neighbelline. The horse drew the best out of her, but she had to be returned with the others, and the bronze-skinned girl took her dear sweet time saying goodbye.
With a second task was presented to the group, Shakuntala was among one of them to grab a net and cast it out into the waters of the canal. She sat on the edge and swung her legs childishly, using her other hand to eat the apple that wasn't spared on another horse. With a crisp bite into the fruit, the seventeen year old waited patiently to snag something.

Deacon was having precisely nothing to do with a boat or being on the water, so he'd just grabbed one of the nets for the time being, in hopes of scooping some debris out of the water that was floating on the surface or at least within reach of the net's pole.

Somehow, Shun found himself scavenging through debris. Granted, this wasn't necessarily for himself, though he supposed it would depend on what it was he found. Grumbling to himself, he dipped a net into the water and managed to pick something up that was half submerged. "What the hell?" he frowned lightly. It looked like a costume of sorts. This was useless to him.

Digging in the water with a net, she eventually came across something quite large. "What's this.. a.. broken.. mast?"

Hitting a snag, Lenore pulled up her catch, half expecting a dead body. But no, just a broken off mast. Shame. EDIT: Ninja'd by seconds. Should've not tried being funny. gonk

Shun put the costume aside, shaking his head to himself. Grumbling lowly, he made another pass through the water with his net. Surely there might be something useful in the water now. This time around, however, he came up with nothing.

Alec had woken up a few hours after his nearly collapsing in the street. Next to him was Lillian, and a stray dog. The boys heart sunk when he saw the small dog, its eyes trained on him and tail lightly wagging. "Aww..hey there girl." he smiled petting the dogs head. With that, Alec now had a new best friend. Shaking his friend awake he moved off towards home to finish properly sleeping on something other than dirt. Of course he made sure to wake the sleeping girl even if she hadn't liked it one bit. The red head vaguely wondered where Nik had gone too but for now he was too tired. He'd pester him on his offer of lunch along with Lillian another time
[exit catching up.]
The next day, he returned in time to hear brave talk about how some of them had been heroes. While he wanted to be brave, and be like those he praised so highly in story but at least this was a start. So to hear such words had his spirits up, and a smile on the red heads face. The dog he'd woken up beside came bounding towards him, tail wagging excitedly at the boy, up on her back legs paws on the human licking his face. Alec had yet to craft a proper name for the k-9 but he would in time he reasoned.
"Hey...hey down!" he laughed landing on his rear, giving the dog a hug. He'd meant to go look around but for now he was content to linger about maybe see if he could run into any familiar faces besides this fur ball. The collie was mostly orange, white and a darker brown, and wore a huge friendly smile as its tail swished padding off not far from the human she had "adopted". Alec yawned, pressing a gloved hand to his lips and stretched picking himself up off the ground.
Alec was if anything bored. Perhaps he'd go look around and see who was about. He was ready to relax, the parade would hopefully be soon. Maybe he'd go find a place to sit and watch things start up. That sounded reasonable for the now anyway. Currently, Alec wasn't much for hunting..perhaps if he spied some of the wreckage from yesterday he'd return it. It wasn't exactly like he was actively searching. More lazily skimming just out of curiosity really.

Preacher really didn't want to take part in clean up duty, but somehow, she felt she owed at least Saga that. The field marshal had bought her dinne, among other things. She was in his debt for at least that and she hated owing anything to anyone. It just wasn't in Preacher's nature to accept things given freely and without any expectation of Preacher reciprocating. Especially if she could have gotten the same thing on her own. And if her methods of acquistion were typically a little illegal (ok, a lot illegal), then so be it. It was too late now to change the way her life had decided to run. So, here she was, bright and early. Letting out a tired yawn, she kicked a pebble into the canal. In her hands, she held a net - the purpose of which was to drag along in the canal and hope it turned up bits of the barge. It seemed terribly inefficient. Swishing it about half-heartedly, she yanked it back up. Empty. Oh, wait, there was someone's boot caught in the lower half. Rolling her eyes, she plucked it out. Ugh. The boot was more canal than boot, it seemed, and the slimy leather began to disintegrate on her hands. With a muffled curse, Preacher flung it forcefully back into the canal. By the walls, this was boring. A thought stuck her. She couldn't very well go looking for trouble as Tinker had forbade her any altercations on threat of severe beating and possible expulsion from the gang. Even Dollface hadn't been sympathetic. But Preacher could just go talk to people. Aside from Axel, most people she had met were normal, everyday people who weren't giant sticks in the mud. Wringing the net free of canal water, she draped it around her like a toga and, grinning at the fancy feel it gave her, went off in search of fun. Note: any and everyone is free to approach Preacher - she's in a good mood and looking to have fun.

Zin was surprisingly cheerful to be fishing trash out of the canal, considering how much she had looked forward to participating in the parade itself. Still, she had volunteered for trash duty the first day; she clearly believed that someone had to do it. She had grabbed a net and was dangling it over the side, balancing with her stomach pressed against the railing and her feet off the ground. It was a rather precarious position, so it was just as well that the water passed harmlessly through the net without depositing anything heavy in it.

Axel was using a stick to swish around the water, trying to snag whatever bits of debris he could. A stick probably wasn't the best choice, but whatever. He was getting pretty apathetic about the parade as a whole. He was also bruised from his misadventures with the horses and Preacher, and he was getting a bit jumpy, looking over his shoulder from time to time for more rogue horses. Finding nothing, Axel took his stick and decided to wander around the parade grounds instead. If anyone with keener eyes found something heavy and called out for help, he would go to their assistance. For now, maybe he would find something to eat. Or someone to chat to. Basically anything entertaining. ((just wandering around))
